  • This paper is a longitudinal study, comparing survey results between two time periods. A previous survey was conducted in 1999. After 10 years of the first survey, the second survey was conducted while utilizing the same questionnaire. A list of membership of Korea Institute of Heallthcare Architecture was used as a sampling frame. At the first survey in 1999, questionnaires of 27.3 percentage were returned, and 15.5 percentage in the 2008 survey. Healthcare design is one of the highly specialized design types in architecture. In addition, it is demanded highly specialized knowledge to solve healthcare design problems. As a professional service firm(PSF), architectural firm utilizes knowledge assets to provide design service to clients. Specialized knowledge in question is one of the core assets of PSF. The knowledge generates competitive advantages and plays an effective role as a marketing tool for PSF. However, empirical studies dealing with the knowledge characteristics of specialized design(healthcare) firms were hardly found. Thus, this study aims to trace the professional architects' perception of knowledge demands for task performance and architectural knowledge assets. The results can be used as a reference when a specialized firm in healthcare design initiates to build knowledge assets in it.

  • The purposes of this study were to verify the longitudinal mediating effects of work-family balance on the relationship of role recognition in the family, marital intimacy and job satisfaction of married women, and to introduce longitudinal mediating effects by using latent growth curve modeling and autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. The subjects were married women from the third year data of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family. Structural equational models were conducted with Amos ver. 21.0. The major findings are as follows. First, the result of the longitudinal mediating effects of latent growth modeling is the rate of change of work-family balance mediated between the rate of change of role recognition in the family and the rate of change of job satisfaction, and the rate of change of work-family balance mediated between the rate of change of marital intimacy and the rate of change of job satisfaction. Second, when using the autoregressive cross-lagged modeling, the more role recognition and marital intimacy of third year were the more work-family balance of fourth year, job satisfaction of fifth year. In both models, work-family balance mediated between role recognition in the family, marital intimacy and job satisfaction. Therefore, through this study, mediating effects of work-family balance can be found that there was a longitudinal effects.

  • This article studied the motivational factor of participation skill competition and their effectiveness. This study was restricted to cooks within those who had participated in a cooking contest to allow measurement of participation and satisfaction. This thesis investigated 116 cooks by questionnaires from April 6, 2005 to April 23, 2005, of which 106 responses were used for statistical processing to perform this study First, from the motive of participation, 13 variables were analyzed into 3 factors such as the factor of social recognition, the factor of speciality, and the factor of self-development and self-realization. The factor as a motive of participating in skill competition has a significant effect on effectiveness. A total of three factors were extracted from Recognition consisting of 10 variables. Each factor was labeled as awareness of the competition, revision of test questions, and selection of the judges of the competition. Second, three factors were derived from 12 variables in association with the effect of the contest, including factors of contribution to industry development, technical and technological effect, and psychological effect. In addition, it was revealed that the motive of participating in skill competition had an significant impact on recognition. Third, the results of regression analysis demonstrated that factors relating to recognition of skill competition and participation motives significantly influence on the effect of the contest. One limitation of this study is that the Population of the survey was limited to those who had Participated in the contest. Thus, the findings of this study may not be generalizable for other cases. It is clear that further research is needed to collect more in-dept data from other similar competitions in an effort to extend the application of the present results to other studies.

Research design, data, and methodology - The survey of this study was conducted on the visitors to the top 10 spa destinations in Korea from April 8 ~ April 21, 2017, and a total of 300 questionnaires were distributed. Of them, effective questionnaires used in the final study were a total of 241. In this study, empirical analysis was made through frequency analysis, factor analysis, and multidimensional scaling ALSCAL(spinning symmetry for image similarity and rectangle for attributes recognition) by using the Statistics Package SPSS 24.0. Results - According to the analysis result of spa destination image similarity, the stress level was 0.16453 and the level of the stress was good. Moreover, the coefficient of determination (RSQ) was, which had a description of each aspect of the spa destination, 0.79908. According to the results of attribute recognition, the stress value of 0.11805 represents a degree of conformity, and the coefficient of determination(RSQ) appeared at 0.98665. Therefore, the results of this analysis are that the similarities between spa destinations and the attribute recognition of the spa destinations is a suitable model that is properly expressed in two dimensions. Conclusions - First, according to the analysis result of image similarity, Deoksan & Dogo spa revealed similar images, as well as the Dongrae and Yuseong spa, while on the contrary Asan, Bomun, Suanbo spa has different images from the rest. Second, according to the results of attribute recognition, Asan and Onyang spa has competitiveness in terms of accessibility to spa destination; Yuseong, Dongrae, Jangyu spa in terms of spa facilities, spa tourism conditions, and service & shopping conditions. while spa water quality and spa costs showed low attribute reflection for all 10 spas. Therefore, the spa visitors cannot recognize the differentiation of spa water quality and spa costs.
