  • In order to enhance the aviation industry in Korea, many strategies have been published by some researchers as well as the government. However, considering the constrained conditions in real, since the ranking of their importance has not determined yet, they are difficult to be implemented by decision makers. Therefore, in terms of their demand for deciding the significance of strategies, the evaluation model of this paper was developed. In this study, the Cross-impact Hierarchy Process(CHP), an linked model of both the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and Cross Impact Analysis(CIA), was selected as the best model. That is because the strategies are not independent from each other, and one strategy can affect the others depending on its realization, which can be considered in CHP. To achieve our objective, at first, the strategies were categorized and arranged according to the evaluation structure. Secondly, the parameters such as conditional probability and weights were estimated from the survey conducted by 16 experts in the aviation field. Lastly, the result of the assessment were discussed, and further studies were suggested.

  • Many countries over the world have taken many discussions and endeavors on environmental improvements of energy savings and greenhouse gas emission reductions for solving global climate change problems. In Korea, pre-considerations of environment-conscious factors in buildings have been taken to be critical with new constructions and renovation markets. In this situation, the Korean Green Building Certification(KGBC) system to induce the diffusion of sustainable buildings was introduced in 2002 and developed as an improved version of the G-SEED(Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design) system in 2013 after major revisions. This research examines the importance of assessment criteria on apartment buildings to certify green buildings using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method and suggests a new direction on certification assessment standards from the AHP result. In order to apply the AHP method, the survey via e-mail was conducted to design staffs in domestic architectural firms. As a result, assessment criteria such as ecological environment, indoor environment, and energy & environment pollution among 7 main ones proved to be important on assessing the G-SEED system for apartment buildings, while criteria such as land use & transportation, material & resource, water circulation management, maintenance management did relatively unimportant.

  • Purpose: This study was to identify customers' demands in railway services system and then to seek the way to satisfy the customer expectations. Methods: We suggest a Quality Function Deployment(QFD)-based approach comprised of three stages. In first stage, SERVPERF survey was carried out to assess current positions of customer expectations in the market. Then, factor analysis was incorporated into SERVPERF to classify customer expectations for the house of quality. In the second stage, the analytic network process was used to prioritize the importance of the customer attributes. Finally, QFD was performed utilizing customer attributes and their weights. Results: The QFD identified the most important customer expectations as: accident prevention, swift reaction to accident, on-time arrivals and departures of the train. It also shows that driving capability, equipment for safety, and training for disaster are the most critical technical requirements. Conclusion: The results are useful for identifying the customers' demands in railway services systems, and they can contribute to the service quality and customer satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify awareness of hypertension prevalence among Korean youth and related causes. Data from the Korean National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey, conducted in 2016 by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were used to apply weights for complex sample analysis. A total of 1,075 data age 19~35 Korean youth were used for analysis. The analysis demonstrated that 25.7% of age 19~35 Korean youth were in the prehypertension stage and 6.1% were in the hypertension stage. Those aware of hypertension was 0.3%. This revelation necessitates establishment of preventive measures by way of physical examination among youth to ensure no youth are left untreated in terms of health management. This study indicated that diabetes affects hypertension significantly among males (p<0.0001), with low income (p=0.034) and obesity (p<0.0001). Consequently, they should be managed as high-risk, and it is imperative to educate them about changes in lifestyle such as walking or less dining-out, rather than engaging in specific sports activities or nutrient intake.

  • Studies about nutritional status, dietary behaviors and food preferrence as well as health status were performed to 110 homo-living elderly in rural area, Asan. The results obtained by questionnaires and interviews for 24-hr dietary recall were as follows. They were 68.6 years of average age. The weights were 53.8kg and 51.4kg of male and female, respectively and BMI 22.0 and 23.5. Their prevalence of obesity and high blood pressure were 65.5% and 60.5%, respectively, which seemed to be less than ones in large cities. More than 50% of the elderly thought their health as good or so-so. Physical health conditions by check list were indicated as 2.26 points, which meant the listed physical symptoms observed seldom(3pts) to sometimes(2pts). Evaluations on food frequency and seasoning tendency resulted in superior quality of female elderly's meals to that of male ones. Average daily intake of energy, protein, vitamin A, riboflavin and ascorbic acid of the elderly in rural area were lower than Korean RDA for the aged $60{\sim}69$ and riboflavin was found to be the least sufficient nutrient. Their monthly expenditure, meal-accompany and skipped meals were significantly related to daily nutrient intake.

  • This study was conducted to investigate adolescents' body size and their concerns and perceptions about body image. Group means of heights and weights were 171.5cm and 60.3kg for boys and 159.3cm and 52.3Kg for girls. Body Mass Index(BMI) of the subjects were 20.5 for boys and 20.6 for girls. Only 11.5$\%$ of subjects were overweight or obese, however 42.5% of subjects had experienced weight control, and the main reason for weight control was to lose weight(80.6$\%$). In concern for body image and frequency of eating distrubance ; females had more concern than males, the group who had attempted weight control had more concern than those who had not, and the group who were overweight had more concern than those who were under and normal weight. In perception about body image, using a set of nine figure drawings arranged from very thin to very heavy figures, subjects rated their current figure, considered figure(how they appeared to others), ideal figure, and attractive figure. For boys, the current, ideal, and most attractive figures were almost identical, but for girls, the ideal figure was significantly thinner than current figure and attractive figure was significantly thinner than current figure. The greater the preference for thinner figure as idal and attractive figure, the higher the concern for body image and frequency of eating distrubance. Thus it seems that a distorted perception of ideal body size affects adolescents' concern for body image and eating behaviors.

  • The decision-making process is the act of finding the best solution among various alternatives through comparison between various criteria based on objectives of the project, evaluation standard, and conditions. However, in practice it is not easy to simply decide the optimum decision, especially for selecting malfunctioning reservoirs because no systematic evaluation criteria or standard assessment process are available. Therefore, this study adopted AHP method, which is a MCDM (multi-criteria decision making technique) to identify the malfunctioning reservoirs for efficient management of reservoirs. Important criteria of the selection of malfunctioning reservoirs and priority weights of each criteria were determined based on results of expert's survey under a stepwise hierarchical approach. The most important factor for the decision of malfunctioning reservoirs was obtained as Reservoir efficiency among the selected criteria including Reservoir efficiency decrease, Disaster Risk, Reservoir efficiency, Available water storage, Future water demand, Resident Needs. The AHP technique was applied on 11 reservoirs in Andong region to verify its applicability. Scoring method was applied for the comparison with the results of AHP method.
