그래핀의 합성과 열전도 및 표면 특성 개선 활용 (Synthesis of graphene and its application to thermal and surface modification)

  • CVD를 이용하여 Cu 시편에 그래핀의 합성을 보이고, Cu 시편의 grain 크기와 방향성에 따른 그래핀의 성장거동을 보이고자 한다. 동일한 온도 및 압력 하에서도 사용하는 분위기 가스의 종류에 따라서 Cu의 확산에 영향을 주게 되고, 그래핀 합성 시 사용되는 $H_2$$CH_4$ 가스 분위기 하에서 Cu grain의 성장에도 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 결과적으로 Cu grain의 성장이 그래핀의 합성과 성장에 직접적인 관련이 있음을 보이고자 하였다. 부식 저항성은 상온에서 동전위 분극실험를 통하여 분석하였으며, 부식속도 비교에서 그래핀 코팅된 Cu 시편의 경우가 그래핀의 화학적 안정성에 기인하여 순수 Cu 시편의 경우보다 동일한 부식 환경에서 약 10배 정도 안정적인 것으로 관찰이 되었다. 또한, grain boundary를 포함, 결함이 없는 그래핀의 균일한 성장의 가능성을 보이고, 이의 합성을 통한 공학적인 활용이 그 최종적인 목적이 될 것이다.

  • This paper deals with the micro-surface-cracks behavior on the unnotched smooth specimens of Type 304 stainless steel at $593^{\circ}C$ in air under creep and creep-fatigue conditions that have 10 mim and 1 min load holding times respectively. The behaviors of the micro-surface-cracks have been visualized by means of surface replica method and optical micro-photography. The quantitative characteristics of initiation, growth and coalescence of micro-surface-cracks have been investigated by observing and measuring the crack growth behaviors. some of the important results are as follows: Main crack initiates at grain boundary in the early stage(10 to 20%)of its life time and grows through coalescence and finally leads to fracture. The distribution of micro-surface-crack length, 2a, can be plotted against the composite Weibull distribution. The growth rate of the main crack can be plotted against the stress intensity factor, crack tip opering displacement and J integral.

벼 담수표면직파 재배시 중간낙수 회수가 생육 및 도복에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Midsummer Drainage Times on Growth and Lodging of Rice Plant in Direct Seeding on Flooded Paddy Surface)

  • 벼 담수표면직파재배시 물관리 방법이 생육 및 도복에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 1994~1995년까지 3개년에 걸쳐 호남농업시험장 시험포장인 전북통(미사질양토)에서 동진벼를 공시하고 중간낙수회수를 달리하여 생육 및 도복형질을 검토한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 중간낙수 회수가 많을수록 상시담수보다 초장과 간장이 단축되었고 $m^2$당 최고 분벽수, 수수는 적어졌다. 2. 중간낙수 회수가 많을수록 토양경도가 높았고, 뿌리량이 많았으며 뿌리의 심층분도 비율도 높은 경향이었다. 3. 중간낙수 회수가 많을수록 중심고, 생체중, 모멘트는 낮아지고 좌절중은 무거워져 도복지수가 낮아졌으며, 포장도복도 경감되었다. 4. 중간낙수 회수가 많을수록 등숙비율 및 1,000 입중이 증가되었고, 쌀수량은 상시담수에서 보다 8~9% 증수되었다. 따라서 벼 담수표면직파재배시는 중간낙수를 2~3회 실시하는 것이 도복경감, 수량증대 및 미질향상을 위한 효과적인 물관리 방법으로 생각되었다.

CBD법에 의한 ZnS 박막 성장의 하이드라진 효과 (Effect of Hydrazine as a Complex Agent on the Growth of ZnS Thin Film by Using Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD))

  • We prepared ZnS thin films via chemical bath deposition (CBD) in an aqueous solution of ammonia ($NH_3$) and hydrazine ($N_2H_4$). The composition ratio of hydrazine used was 0%, 17%, 22%, 29%, or 50%. We investigated the effects of hydrazine and ammonia on the growth, and the structural and optical properties of ZnS in terms of surface uniformity, voids, and grain size. We found that during the growth of ZnS films, hydrazine was very effective for improving the surface morphology and layer uniformity with fast layer formation, while it had no effect on the bandgap energy, $E_g$.

Study on Anomalous Scaling Exponents for Molecular Thin Film Growth Using Surface Lateral Diffusion Model

  • Anomalous scaling behaviors such as significantly large growth exponent (${\beta}$) and small reciprocal of dynamic exponent (1/z) values for many molecular crystalline thin films have been reported. In this study, the variation of scaling exponent values and consequent growth behaviors of molecular thin films were more quantitatively analysed using a (1+1)-dimensional surface lateral diffusion model. From these simulations, influence of step edge barriers and grain boundaries of molecular thin films on the various scaling exponent values were elucidated. The simulation results for the scaling exponents were also well consistent with the experimental data for previously reported molecular thin film systems.

국산 주요 침엽수재 문양의 출현 형태 (Appearance Pattern of Figures in Commercial Domestic Softwoods)

  • This study has been focused on the evaluation of domestic softwood timbers to replace imported timbers for woodcrafts and furniture-making. Figures on radial and tangential sections were observed with naked eyes. As the result of study on the figures appeared on the wood surface of 6 species of trees, flat grain and edge grain were clearly found from Taxus cuspidata. Juniperus chinensis and Ginkgo biloba had wavy grain figure and pigment figure, and blister figure was found in Pinus densiflora, Larix kaempferi showed pitch streak and irregular figures on its tangential section due to growth abnormalities. Wavy grain figure appeared weakly on near knot of Pinus koraiensis. The characteristic figures shown from each species of trees are expected to be used for crafts, sculptures, furniture, and interior decoration. They are also considered to have great potential to substitute imported timber sufficiently, which are currently used a lot for wood crafts and furniture-making.

동결건조법에 의한 PLZT 세라믹 제조 및 결정립 성자에 관한 연구. (A Study on the Grain Growth and PLZT Ceramics Fabrication by Freeze Drying Method.)

  • In this study, PLZT ceramics were fabricated by freeze-drying and normal sintering method. The compositional rate of specimen was selected 9/65/35 (La/Zr/Ti) which have good optical and dielectric properties, sintering time was varied 1, 10, 30, 40, 50, 55, 60 and 65 hr at $1250^{\circ}C$. After sintering, the optical and dielectric properties were investigated with the grain size. As the result of the experiment, freeze-dried powder appeared particle size less than 1 um. The relative dielectric constant was increased linearly with the sintering time, specimen which sintered for 65 hr had the highest value, 5780. Grain was grown with increasing time, in the case of specimen sintered for 60 hr, the grain size was 8.4 um. Transmittance was increased with the grain size. In the case of 8.4 um grain size, the transmittance was 56 %. Curie temperature was decreased linearly by the surface-layer effect of space-charge, in the case of grain size which were 1.8 um and 8.4 um, appeared at $100^{\circ}C$ and $80^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • 본 연구는 OTS 표면 처리 유무에 따른 $HfO_2$ 위에서의 pentacene의 grain growth를 비교 연구하였다. OTS 처리에 의해 $HfO_2$의 표면은 hydrophilic에서 hydrophobic으로 변화되었으며, pentacene의 grain size는 50 nm 에서 90 nm으로 증가되었다. 이러한 pentacene의 크기 증가와 더불어 pentacene은 3-dimensional island 구조를 가지며, bulk phase 없이 thin film phase만의 출현으로 인해 OTS/$HfO_2$ 박막 위에서 pentacene은 보다 방향성을 가지며 정렬되었다.

용액성장된 ZnS 박막의 표면형상 및 양자사이즈효과 (Surface Morphology and Quantum Size Effect of ZnS Thin Film Grown by Solution Growth Technique)

  • In this study, the nanosized ZnS thin films that can be used for fabrication of blue light-emitting diodes, electro-optic modulators, and n-window layers of solar cells were grown by the solution growth technique (SGT), and their surface morphology and film thickness and grain size dependence on the growth conditions were examined. Based on these results, the quantum size effects of ZnS were systematically investigated. Governing factors related to the growth condition were the concentration of precursor solution, growth temperature, concentration of aq. ammonia, and growth duration. X-ray diffraction patterns showed that the ZnS thin film obtained in this study had the cubic structure ($\beta$-ZnS). With decreasing growth temperature and decreasing concentration of precursor solution, the surface morphology of film was found to be improved. Also, the film thickness depends largely on the ammonia concentration. In particular, this is the first time that the surface morphology dependence of ZnS film grown by SGT on the ammonia concentration is reported. The energy band gaps of samples were determined from the optical transmittance values, and were shown to vary from 3.69 eV to 3.91 eV. These values were substantially higher than 3.65 eV of bulk ZnS. It was also shown that the quantum size effect of SGT grown ZnS is larger than that of the ZnS films grown by most other growth techniques.
