광학 어드미턴스 기법과 진화 알고리즘 기법을 이용한 다층 표면 플라즈몬 공명 센서의 설계 (Design of multi-layered surface plasmon resonance sensors using optical admittance method and evolution algorithm)

  • This paper describes the optimal design of a multi-layered surface plasmon resonance sensors to meet various specifications and improve some physical parameters. Dip 3 dB bandwidth and depth were chosen as design parameters and the objective function was the norm of the difference between design parameters and target values. The design variables are thicknesses of each layer and to obtain the design parameters, the optical admittance method was employed. The (1+1) evolution strategy was employed as an optimization tool. By applying the proposed optimization procedure to a 3-layered sensor, the optimized design variables considerably improved the 3 dB bandwidth by 4.8 nm and the dip depth by 1.1 dB.

  • In many industries, the linear motor replaces the existing framework for linear transportation. Similar to other conventional motors, it is important to minimize the ripple of thrust and to maximize the thrust force of the linear motor. Because the two objectives are associated to each other, the multi-objective design process is necessary considering all objectives. This paper intends to optimize geometric parameters of the linear motor with two design objectives using design of experiments and sequential response surface method.

서지 마진 증가를 고려한 원심 압축기 설계 최적화 (A Study on Centrifugal Compressor Design Optimization for Increasing Surge Margin)

  • This study presents a numerical procedure to optimize the compressor design to increase the surge margin of compressor with response surface method (RSM). The Box-Behnken design method is used to reduce the number of calculation for fitting the second-order response surface. In order to consider the increase of surge margin during numerical optimization without any calculation at the surge point, the slope of compressor characteristic curve at the design point is suggested as an objective function in the present optimization problem. Mean line performance analysis method is used to get the design and off-design characteristic curves of centrifugal compressor. The impeller exit angle, impeller exit height and impeller radius are chosen as design variables. The optimum shapes show the increase of surge margin for the surge margin optimization and increase of efficiency for the efficiency optimization in comparison with an initial shape.

  • In this article it is considered that how the slope-rotatability property of a second order design for response surface model is affected by block effects and how the design points are assigned into the blocks so that the blocked design may have the property of slope-rotatability. If an unblocked design is blocked properly, it could be a slope-rotatable design with block effects and this property is named as block slope-rotatability. We approach this problem from the moment matrix of the blocked design, which plays an important role to get the variances of the estimates, and suggest conditions of block slope-rotatability.

  • The object of this paper is to evaluate the surface roughness using the experimental equation of surface roughness, which is developed in turning by an orthogonal array method. $L_9{3^4}$ orthogonal array method, one of fractional factorial design has been used to study effects of main cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut, on the surface roughness. And the analysis of variance (ANOVA)-test has been used to check the significance of cutting parameters. Using the result of ANOVA-test, the experimental equation of surface roughness, which consists of only significant cutting parameter - feed rate, has been developed. The coefficient of determination of this equation is 0.962.

  • The old technique of sandblasting which has been used for paint or scale removing, deburring and glass decorating has recently been developed into a powder blasting technique for brittle materials, capable of producing micro structures larger than $100{\mu}m$. In this paper, we studied on the predictive modeling of material removal and surface roughness in powder blasting of glass by design of experiments. The surface characteristics and surface shape of powder blasted glass surface were tested under different blasting parameter. Finally, we proposed a predictive model for powder blasting process, and compared with experimental results.

  • The method of die-face design based on the CAE platform for automobile panels can fast modify the die addendum. In contrast with the process of the die-face design based on the CAD platform, there are some special steps for the die-face design based on the CAE platform. The most obvious difference is that the auto-body part contour needs smoothing arlier than the design of addendum surfaces does. It is helpful to improve the design quality of addendum surface. In spite of extensive researches on the smoothing technique, here is still dearth of the published solutions about smoothing the part contour with additional surface. This paper attempts to analyze the difficulties and provides practical solutions. Main results include the algorithm to calculate the segments needing to be smoothed on boundary, the strategy to create the smoothing curve and the procedure of surface generation. The relevant function modules for parametric design are developed. A few examples and suggestions for future work conclude the paper.

한국 전통문양의 Surface Pattern 디자인 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Surface Pattern Design Development of Korean Traditional Motifs)

  • Textile fabrication based on traditional culture has grown very attentive as fashion icons in recent so that designers, especially, who want to be the center of attention, may be a public interest and introduce their own culture to the world. In the 21st century by more focusing of our culture, Korean textile designs that is applicable our traditional motifs are required to develop and also its motifs could be comprehensibly got the spirit and the inherent meaning, and should be fuse with modern touch and developed practical design in daily life. Of all many different patterns, this paper placed an emphasis on three of main traditional motifs as a floral arabesque pattern, ivy pattern and butterfly pattern. The traditional motifs were applied through a hand-made technology and the professional design program of TexPro, and then the textile design was simulated by Photoshop to approaching the apparel design. Through these produced artworks, we have conscious that the oriental images have associate traditional meaning and the traditional design tried to express co-existence past and present. Moreover, we believe that the surface pattern design of textile for printing was good chance to relive the traditional meaning, and the tradition is recognized not mere old and expects more advance with applications.

  • 단거리 탄도 미사일의 개념 형상을 설계하기 위하여, 부피, 공력, 추진, 구조, 안정성, 비행 궤적 등의 다양한 관점을 고려하는 최적화 문제를 정립하였다. 이를 위하여 기존의 미사일 사례를 분석하여, 설계 조건과 성능지수를 도출하였다. 각 서브 시스템의 모델을 통합하여, 전체 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 설계 예시를 통하여, 여러 설계변수가 최종 성능에 미치는 관계성을 분석하였다.

  • In this study a method for a robust design of mechanisms is proposed. The method used in the experimental anlysis and quqlity engineering is applied for mechanisms design. A mathematical model for a mechanism is estimated by the responese surface analysis and the robust design can be carried out. The method can be applied for mechanisms generally. Furthermore because the method can be used in the design stage using the computer model, improved quality and lower cost of the product is achieved even in the design stage.
