This paper deals with the micro turning property of setting angle using diamond tool. The bed of the system has used the granite which has the thermal and vibrational characteristics superior to the cast iron bed for the common machine tool. To minimize the inner and outer vibration of the fuming system, an air pad system was manufactured and tested. The aero-static spindle system which has the excellent rotation accuracy was designed and manufactured. As a result of the micro-cutting test on aluminum alloy, tool setting angel have effected on surface roughness. From the results, the micro-cutting conditions hope to provide the useful actual data using in industrial fields.

The surface morphology of the front transparent conductive oxide (TCO) films plays a vital role in amorphous silicon thin film solar cells (a-Si TFSCs) due to their high transparency, conductivity and excellent light scattering properties. Recently, plasma textured glass surface morphologies received much attention for light trapping in a-Si TFSCs. We report various plasma textured glass surface morphologies for the high efficiency of a-Si TFSCs. Plasma textured glass surface morphologies showed high rms roughness, haze ratio with micro- and nano size surface features and are proposed for future high efficiency of a-Si TFSCs.

The front transparent conductive oxide (TCO) films in thin fill solar cell should exhibit high transparency, conductivity, good surface morphology and excellent light scattering properties. The light trapping phenomenon is limited due to random surface structure of TCO films. The proper control of surface structure and uniform cauliflower TCO films may be appropriate for efficient light trapping. We report light trapping scheme of ICP-RIE glass texturing by SF6/Ar plasma for high roughness and haze ratio of ITO films. It was observed that the variation of etching time, pattern size and Ar flow ratio during ICP-RIE process were important factors to improve the diffused transmittance and haze ratio of textured glass. The ICP-RIE textured glass showed low etching rates due to the presence of metal elements like Al, B, F and Na. The ITO films deposited on textured glass substrates showed the high RMS roughness and haze ratio in the visible wavelength region. The change in surface morphology showed negligible influence on electrical and structural properties of ITO films. The ITO films with high roughness and haze ratio can be used to improve the performance of thin film solar cells.

In practical operation, the exposed surfaces may get dirty thus degrade the performance of devices. So the combination of self cleaning and antireflection is very desirable for use in outdoor photovoltaic and displaying devices, self cleaning windows and car windshields. For the purpose of self cleaning, the surface needs to be either superhydrophobic or superhydrophilic. However, in practice AR in the visible region and self cleaning are a pair of competitive properties. To satisfy the requirements for superhydrophobic or superhydrophilic surfaces, high surface roughness is required. But it usually cause severely light scattering. Photo-responsive coatings (TiO2, ZnO etc.) can lead to superhydrophilic. However, the refractive indices are high. Thus for porous structure, controlling pore size in the underwavelength scale to reduce the light scattering is very crucial for highly transparent and self cleaning antireflection coating. Herein, we demonstrate a simple method to make high performance broadband antireflection layer on the glass surface, by "carving" the surface by hot alkali solution. Etched glass has superhydrophilic surface. By chemical modification, it turns to superhydrophobic. Enhanced transparency (up to 97%) in a broad wavelength range was obtained by short time etching. Also antifogging effect has been demonstrated, which may offer advantage for devices working at high humidity environment or underwater. Compositional dependence of the properties was observed by comparing three different commercially available glasses.

We have prepared alumina (Al2O3) doped zinc oxide (AZO) films by DC magnetron sputtering (MS) technique and obtained higher self surface texturing at a high target angle (f). We have characterized the films and applied it as a front electrode of a single junction amorphous silicon solar cell. At a lower f the deposited films show higher values of optical gap (Eg), charge carriers mobility & concentration, crystallite grain size and wider wavelength range of transmission. At higher target angle the sheet resistance, surface roughness, haze factor etc for the films increase. For f=72.5o the haze factor for diffused transmission becomes 6.46% at 540 nm wavelength. At f=72.5o the material shows a reduction in crystallinity and evolution of a hemispherical-type sub-micron surface textures. A Monte Carlo method (MCM) of simulation of the AZO film deposition shows that such an enhanced self-surface texturing of the films at higher f is possible.
The growth orientation and the surface roughness of AIN/Si(111) films grown by radio frequency (RF) reactive magnetron sputtering were investigated using in-situ x-ray scattering technique and atomic force microscopy (AFM). AIN films were initially grown with the <001> preferred growth orientation under most growth conditions. As the film gets thicker, however, the growth orientation changes significantly, especially at high substrate temperature and high RF powers. We attribute the observed behavior to the competition between the surface energy that prefers the <001> growth orientation and the strain energy that randomizes the growth orientation. In addition, we investigated the evolution of the surface morphology during the growth using the x-ray reflectivity measurement.
Transparent conducting ZnO films were deposited to apply DSSC Substrate on glass substrates at $500^{\circ}C$ by ionbeam-assisted deposition. Crystallinity, microstructure, surface roughness, chemical composition, electrical and optical properties of the films were investigated as a function of deposition parameters such as ion energy, and substrate temperature. The microstructure of the polycrystalline ZnO films on the glass substrate were closely related to the oxygen ion energy, arrival ratio of oxygen to Zinc Ion bombarded on the growing surface. The main effect of energetic ion bombardment on the growing surface of the film may be divided into two categories; 1) the enhancement of adatom mobility at low energetic ion bombardment and 2) the surface damage by radiation damage at high energetic ion bombardment. The domain structure was obtained in the films deposited at 300 eV. With increasing the ion energy to 600 eV, the domain structure was changed into the grain structure. In case of the low energy ion bombardment of 300 eV, the microstructure of the film was changed from the grain structure to the domain structure with increasing arrival ratio. At the high energy ion bombardment of 600 eV, however, the only grain structure was observed. The electrical properties of the deposited films were significantly related to the change of microstructure. The films with the domain structure had larger carrier concentration and mobility than those with the grain structure, because the grain boundary scattering was reduced in the large size domains compared with the small size grains. The optical transmittance of ZnO films was dependent on a surface roughness. The ZnO films with small surface roughness, represented high transmittance in the visible range because of a decreased light surface scattering. By varying the ion energy and arrival ratio, the resistivity and optical transmittance of the films were varied from $1.1{\times}10^{-4}$ to $2.3{\times}10^{-2}{\Omega}cm$ and from 80 to 87%, respectively. The ZnO film deposited at 300 eV, and substrate temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ had the resistivity of $1.1{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$ and optical transmittance of 85% in visible range. As a result of experiments, we provides a suggestition that ZnO thin Films can be effectively used as the DSSC substrate Materials.

The increased effective impurity due to the pocket ion implantation is well blown to give rise to a reduction of the effective mobility of halo MOSFETs. However, further decrease of the effective mobility can be observed in pocket implanted MOSFETs above the mobility reduction due to the Coulomb impurity scattering and the gate bias dependency of the effective mobility can also differ from the simple model describing the mobility behavior in terms of the effective impurity. Phonon scattering and surface scattering as well as impurity Coulomb scattering are also shown to be effective in the degradation of the carrier mobility of pocket implanted MOSFETs. Using the 1-D regional approximation the effect of the distribution of the inversion charge density along the channel on the drain current is investigated. The inhomogeneous channel charge distribution due to pocket implantation is also shown to contribute to the further reduction of the effective mobility in halo MOSFETs.
Recently, as display and semiconductor devices have been miniaturized and highly integrated, there is a demand for optimization of the structural characteristics of the thin film accordingly. The sputtering device has the advantage of stably obtaining a desired thin film depending on the material selected for the target. However, due to the structural characteristics of the sputtering equipment, the structural characteristics of the film may be different depending on the incidence angle of the sputtering target material to the substrate. In this study, the characteristics of the thin film material according to the scattering angle of the target material and the incidence position of the substrate were studied to find the optimization design rule of the sputtering equipment. To this end, a Si thin film of 1 ㎛ or less was deposited on the Si(100) substrate, and then the microstructure, reflectance, surface roughness, and thin film crystallinity of the thin film formed for each substrate location were investigated. As a result of the study, it was found that as the sputter scattering angle increased and the substrate incident angle decreased, the gap energy along with the surface structure of the thin film increased from 1.47 eV to 1.63 eV, gradually changing to a non-conductive tendency.
Monitoring the surface profile real time on the manufacturing line of planar products has been accomplished by employing the scattering of a laser light. The laser beam was focused onto the surface and the direction of the reflected beam was utilized to obtain the slope of the surface facet. By taking data fast enough, it was possible to obtain the microscopic surface structure. The mean roughness thus obtained agreed well with the ones found with the mechanical stylus instrument. There was discrepancy between the two results as to the number of peaks per com. A simple model based on the deconvolution of the raw data was found adequate to improve the agreement to an acceptable level.
