공급사슬 역량과 능력 그리고 기업성과 간의 관계: 공급사슬의 민첩성을 중심으로 (The Relationship Between Supply Chain Competences, Capability, and Fim Performance: A Supply Chain Agility)

  • Changing customer expectation, global competition, and technological requirements force firms to develop agile supply chain capabilities sustaining competitive advantage and business success. To respond, firms are seeking to enhance supply chain agility across the inter-organizational, this study explores the relationship between supply chain competence and supply chain agility on firm performance. The research reviews literature on supply chain capability and classifies capability into two categories as competence and capability based on resource based view and dynamic capabilities. It describes a framework to explore the relationships among supply chain competence (IT flexibility, supply chain flexibility, shared value), supply chain capability (supply chain agility), and firm performance (supply chain performance). The purpose of this study is to find the determinants of supply chain agility and improving firm performance in the perspective of vendor companies. The results indicate strong, positive, and direct relationships between supply chain competence and supply chain agility. Supply chain agility have significant relationships with firm performance. Implication for future research and practice are offered.

공급사슬과 성과에 대한 협업의 매개효과에 관한 연구: 이동통신산업의 구매사-공급사를 중심으로 (The Mediation Effect of Collaboration on Supply Chain Performance: Mobile Networks Industry in Korea)

  • In supply chains, collaboration between buyer and supplier can improve firms' ability of supply chains to their objectives and competitive advantages. A key factor in collaboration in supply chain is to identify buyer relationships and supply relationships as antecedents of the factor collaboration. We analyzed data collected from buyers and suppliers sampled from a mobile networks industry in Korea and found that the level of collaboration comes from strong relationships between two parties and the collaboration enhances the supply chain performances. However, buyer relationships and supplier relationships have indirect impacts on trading partners' performance through collaboration whereas both have direct impacts on one's performance. Therefore to enhance supply chain performances, supplier's operational efficiency and buyer satisfaction, firms of buyers and suppliers should consider pursuing practical and substantial collaboration along with buyer-supplier relationships.

공급사 의존도가 관계성과에 미치는 영향: 공급사슬 관계와 의사소통 관행을 중심으로 (The Effect of Supplier Dependence on Relationship Performance: Focusing on Supply Chain Relationships and Communication Practices)

  • 본 연구는 국내 제조 부품기업을 중심으로 공급사 의존도가 공급사슬 관계, 의사소통 관행, 관계성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구가설 검증은 SPSS와 AMOS 23.0을 사용하여 수집된 자료를 구조분석모형으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 공급사 의존도는 공급사슬 관계형성과 의사소통 관행에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 공급사슬 관계와 의사소통 관행은 관계성과에 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과는 공급사슬관리에서 공급사슬 관계와 의사소통 관행은 공급사 의존도를 통하여 공급사슬관리의 관계성과를 향상시키는데 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 객관적으로 보여준 결과라 할 수 있다. 또한 본 연구결과는 공급사슬 프로세스에서 공급자-구매자의 협력적 활동을 통해 공급사슬관리의 효율성 및 수행활동을 위한 운영방안 모색에 활용될 수 있다.

  • This study investigates the effect of power dynamics on R&D and market performances. Various types of relationships in a supply chain are considered. An R&D company offering new technology for product quality and a manufacturer responsible for both production and sales are utilized as subjects. The company with bargaining power differs with respect to the supply chain situation in practice, and no fixed single relationship and supply chain structure exist. However, only a few studies have considered the various relationships among players in a supply chain and their effects on performance. Therefore, we propose three models with different supply chain structures and power dynamics among players. This study contributes to the academia and supply chain practice by revealing the different characteristics of supply chain models.

협력은 항상 옳은가? 거래 의존성과 비선형 관계를 고려한 공급사슬 협력에 대한 재고찰 (Does it Always Pay to be Collaborative? Supply Chain Collaboration Revisited in the Consideration of Supplier-Buyer Dependence and Curvilinear Relationships)

  • Firms have reexamined and restructured their supply chain based on a long-term and partnership perspective as a firm's competitive advantage increasingly relies on its supply chain capability. A number of scholar works has provided evidence to support the positive effects of supply chain collaboration; however, the relationship between collaboration and performance is still inconclusive. This study refuses to have blinded faith on supply chain collaboration, but rather this paper suggests that the contribution of collaboration to supply chain performance improvement can be limited and vary along the contextual characteristics of a buyer-supplier relationship. Moreover, we argue that the relationship between supply chain collaboration and performance can be curvilinear. This paper provides and test hypotheses regarding the relationship between supply chain collaboration and performance. By using data of the Manufacturing Panel Survey (MPS), this study empirically validates the hypotheses. Overall, the results of the study support our hypotheses about a limited contribution of supply chain collaboration to manufacturing performance, which is opposite to a conventional expectation. Particularly, the effects of supply chain collaboration differ depending on the dimensions of performance such as customer satisfaction, quality, cost, delivery, and flexibility as well as the dependency in the buyer-supplier relationship. Moreover, the results of the study indicate that supply chain collaboration and performance may have curvilinear relationships in a certain context. Through a comprehensive model and empirical evidence, this study presents a better understanding of supply chain collaboration and provokes an open discussion about the effects of collaboration. This study also provides insightful implications for managers of buyers as well as suppliers who wish to foster stronger supply chain performance via a deep buyer-supplier relationship and collaboration.

Supply Chain Agility: Achieving Robustness and Logistics Performance

  • Purpose: This study aims to empirically analyze the influence of supply chain agility and flexibility on supply chain robustness and logistics performance, addressing a research gap in the context of dynamic business environments. Research design, data and methodology: The study examines causal relationships between supply chain agility, flexibility, robustness, and logistics performance among businesses in South Korea. Data were collected through a survey of 300 workers in supply chain-related departments. A structural equation model was employed for hypothesis testing. Results: The empirical analysis shows that supply chain agility and flexibility positively and significantly influence supply chain robustness, which in turn has a significant positive impact on logistics performance. Conclusions: This study contributes by providing empirical evidence on the importance of supply chain agility, flexibility, and robustness in enhancing logistics performance. The findings suggest prioritizing the development of these capabilities for competitive advantage. Further research on the interrelationships between various supply chain capabilities and their impact on performance outcomes is highlighted.

공급망 통합 및 성과의 영향요인과 조절변수 탐색 (Exploration of Antecedents and Moderators in Supply Chain Integration and Performance)

  • 최근 들어 많은 기업들이 개별 기업의 경쟁력보다는 어떻게 공급망의 경쟁력을 높일 수 있는가에 더 많은 관심을 보이고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 공급망상에서 기업 간 신뢰, 통합, 그리고 성과 사이의 관계를 고찰하고, 기업규모와 흡수역랑이 이러한 관계들을 어떻게 조절할 수 있는가를 실증하는 것이다. 두 요인들 사이의 인과관계와 조절효과로 제시된 가설들을 검정하기 위하여 111개의 설문 데이터가 본 연구에서 사용되었다. 연구결과 공급망 성과는 기업 간 신뢰뿐만 아니라, 공급망 통합에 의해서도 긍정적인 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 신뢰는 공급망 통합에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 기업규모에 대한 조절효과 결과, 신뢰와 공급망 성과 사이의 관계는 소규모 집단이 대규모 집단보다 상대적으로 더 강한 인과관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 공급망 통합과 공급망 성과 사이의 관계에서는 대규모 집단이 더 강한 인과관계를 보여주었다. 흡수역량에 대한 조절효과는 신뢰와 공급망 통합의 관계에서 그리고 공급망 통합과 공급망 성과와의 관계에서 고흡수 집단이 저흡수 집단에 비하여 더 강한 인과관계를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 서로 다른 기업규모와 흡수역량을 가진 공급망 참여 기업들에게 의미 있는 함의를 제공할 것이다.

Inter-oraganisational Information Systems (IOIS) and Cybermediaries for Agriculture and Food Supply Chain

  • Competition in supply chain has moved from between being organizations to between supply chain. To enhance competitiveness in supply chain, there is a need for organisations to establish and manage collaborative relationships among supply chain partners and share operational and strategic information timely and accurately. As a result, food supply chain partners have adopted of inter organisational information systems (IOIS) such as EDI, IEDI, RFID, internet, and extranets to facilitate exchange of information, streamline production and to effectively manage inventory processes so as to deliver value to the customer. Together with IOIS, cybermediaries also plays a key role in facilitating agriculture and food supply chain. This paper investigates the role and significance of IOIS and cybermediaries in facilitating agriculture and food supply chain. Convergent interviewing was conducted with agriculture producers, food processors and retailers. The study identified logistics, supply chain and customer services benefits perceived from implementing IOIS and utilising cybermediaries services in the food supply chain. To conclude the conceptual paper outlined managerial implications and areas for future research.

조직간 관계 유형별 정보교류 행태와 적합한 전자상거래 전략 (Forms of Inter-organizational Relationships, Patterns of Inter-organizational Information Flow, and Relevant E-commerce Strategies)

  • Purpose This study suggested the four forms of inter-organizational relationships(IORs): partnerships, inter-dependence relationship, trust relationship, and market relationship. The purposes of this study include the demonstration of four forms of IORs and the investigation of the relationships among forms of IORs, inter-organizational information flow(IOIF), kinds of e-commerce strategies, and the supply-chain performance of a firm. Design/methodology/approach The empirical data were collected through post-survey. 92 survey data were collected. With a cluster analysis, we confirmed four types of IORs, and the relationships among critical variables. Findings The results of cluster analysis showed that according to the types of IORs, the frequency and quality of IOIF are different. Appropriate kinds of e-commerce strategies were examined under the each types of IORs, which cause specific patterns of IOIF. It was found that the adoption of e-procurement strategy can improve the supply-chain performance of a firm in trust relationship. It was also observed that under partnerships, the use of e-partnerships strategy can contribute to the improvement of supply-chain performance.

Collaborative Communication, Information Sharing and Supply Chain Performance

  • Purpose: This study empirically investigates the effect of collaborative communication and information sharing on the supply chain performance of South Korean pharmaceutical companies. Specifically, it understands the importance collaborative communication and suggests a method for investigating communication in academic research on the pharmaceutical industry. Investigating this sector is crucial because the importance of the pharmaceutical industry is increasing globally against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic. Research design, data, and methodology: A questionnaire was administered to employees of South Korean pharmaceutical companies and 244 valid responses were used for the statistical analysis. Additionally, structural equation modeling was used to measure the relationships between the observed and latent variables. Results: Collaborative communication has a positive effect on information sharing. However, information sharing, unlike collaborative communication, does not exhibit a significant positive relationship with supply chain performance. These results indicate that it is important to communicate effectively in the supply chain rather than strive for the right type of information sharing. Conclusions: Consumers and retailers within the supply chain should continue to strive for candid communication. This study is meaningful, as it empirically tests the relationships between collaborative communication, information sharing, and supply chain performance in the South Korean pharmaceutical industry.
