When VMI with Consignment Brings Benefit to Supply Chain Members?

  • Purpose: This study intends to examine how VMI with consignment performs over time and find out its on-going impacts on the individual supply chain member's achievement. Research design, data, and methodology: This study formulates the mathematical model that represents two-stage supply chain system. By analyzing the numerical examples, this study compares VMI with consignment with the traditional system. Results: VMI with consignment eventually makes higher supply chain profit than the traditional system, even though it's early performance is poor. The influence of VMI with consignment on the performance of the supply chain member is distinct depending on the individual member and time. The consignment may not be helpful to increase the system profit, but it reduces the manufacturer's burden of costs. Conclusions: VMI with consignment improves the supply chain performance after all, and it still takes times until its benefit becomes fully realized. To be a successful collaboration program, VMI with consignment requires a carefully designed incentive scheme that provides the timely compensation to the individual supply chain members. This study also finds out that the consignment contract of this collaboration program plays a role of financially supporting the manufacturer at the early stage of its implementation.

  • This paper deals with a supply chain with a company and its contractor that produces products by the OEM contract with the company. The supply chain of interest has two distinct features. First, the company is the supplier of raw material required in the production at the contractor. Second, the company and its contractor make a delivery shipment arrangement that the replenishment lead time is determined depending on demand process. We show that the optimal inventory policy is monotonically changed as either the replenishment setup cost or inventory holding cost becomes increased or decreased. We also present asymptotic properties of the optimal inventory policy when either the number of outstanding customer orders or the inventory level becomes very large.

  • 계약생산을 주도하는 기업은 농산물 생산에 통제력을 발휘하고 계약지역 농업 구조에 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구는 국산 원료의 사용 비중이 높은 칩가공용 감자의 계약생산에 주목하고 제과업체 𐩒기업과 강원도 양구군 해안면 감자농가 간 계약생산을 대상으로 계약생산의 특징을 규명하고 계약생산이 지역농업에 미친 영향을 농업의 산업화 관점에서 설명했다. 연구 결과 계약기업은 감자의 품질 및 농작업의 수월성을 확보하고자 기계작업이 용이한 농지 보유 농가를 우선 선정하고 농기계를 공급하는 등 농업의 집약화를 촉진하고 있다. 또한 일정 규모 이상 계약이 가능한 농가를 선정하고 판로를 보장하여 농업의 집중화에 영향을 주었고 나아가 가공용 품종의 공급 및 재배 기술의 확산을 통해 계약지역 감자 농업의 전문화를 촉진한 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 세 가지 차원에서 계약생산은 지역농업의 산업화를 촉진한 것으로 확인되었다.

파트너 선택과 계약 체결을 통한 조직간 위험 감소가 공급망 성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Decrease in Inter-organizational Risks through IRCM on the Supply-chain Performance of a Firm)

  • 본 연구는 관계 통제방안인 신중한 파트너 선택과 상세한 계약 체결이 실행 과정에서 조직간 위험을 어떻게 감소시키는지를 실증적으로 규명하였다. 실증분석 결과, 신중한 파트너 선택이 조직간 협력과 조직간 정보교류에 유의한 양의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 상세한 계약 체결은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 관계 및 성과 위험에 대한 신중한 파트너 선택, 상세한 계약 체결, 조직간 협력과 정보교류가 미치는 영향 분석에서는 조직간 협력이 두 가지 위험 모두에 음의 영향을 미치며, 신중한 파트너 선택은 성과 위험에만 유의적인 음의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 신중한 파트너 선택의 성과 위험에 대한 음의 영향은 다음과 같은 의미를 시사한다. 신중한 파트너 선택은 실행 과정에서 지적 자산을 갖춘 능력 있는 공급 기업을 선정하게 되며, 이러한 공급기업의 능력 자체가 성과 달성에 도움을 준다. 그리고 능력 있는 공급 기업과의 인적 접촉과 상호작용 등은 지식 공유와 학습을 상호간에 유발하며, 이를 통해 목표달성을 위한 다양한 방안들이나 책략이 고안, 개발되어 성과 획득에 도움을 줄 수도 있다. 상세한 계약 체결의 조직간 협력을 통한 성과 위험에 대한 간접 영향은 다음을 의미한다. 계약에 명시됨으로써 달성할 목표가 명확해지고 이는 관련 기업들 간의 공동 달성 노력, 즉, 협력을 촉진하게 된다. 그리고 이러한 공동 달성 노력이 상대방 기업의 성과 미달성 가능성을 낮추어준다는 것이다. 공급망 성과에 대한 조직간 위험의 영향 분석에서는 성과 위험이 유의한 음의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 관계 위험의 음의 영향은 유의적이지 않았다.

Modeling Coordinated Contracts for a Supply Chain Consisting of Normal and Markdown Sale Markets

  • The results of a study of the coordination effect in stocking and promotional markdown policies for a supply chain consisting of a retailer and a discount outlet (DCO) are reported here. We assume that the product is sold in two consecutive periods: the Normal Sales Period (NSP) and the subsequent Promotional Markdown Sales Period (PSP). We first study an integrated supply chain in which managers in the two periods design a common system so as to jointly decide the stocking quantities, markdown time schedule, and markdown price to maximize mutual profit. Next, we consider a decentralized supply chain. An uncoordinated contract is designed in which decisions are decentralized to optimize the individual party's objective function. Here, three sources of system inefficiencies cause the decentralized system to earn a lower expected system profit than that in the integrated supply chain. The three sources are as follows: in the decentralized system the retailer tends to (1) stock less, and (2) keep a longer sales period, and the DCO tends to (3) stock fewer leftovers inventories and charge a higher markdown price. Finally, a numerical experiment is provided to compare the coordinated model with the uncoordinated model to explore factors that make coordination an effective approach.

디지털상품의 국제거래 유형과 분쟁 해결방안 (Disputes Patterns and Resolution Approaches in the Global Trading of Digital Goods)

  • Digital goods are defined as intangible and non-physical goods, composed of a combination of digital signals, electronically represented as 0 and 1. They are also called as digital products, electronic transmissions, information goods, digital contents, computer information, etc. Digital goods are now traded both domestically and internationally as well as on-line and off-line. Korean government revised the Basic Law on Foreign Trade to include digital goods and services as the scope of foreign trade in 2001. Trade volume of digital goods are increasing in Korea. The supply chains of digital goods from producing the components to selling globally to consumers are different from conventional physical goods. Mostly, digital goods are traded on the license basis rather than ownership contract. End User License Agreements(EULAs), such as shrink-wrap, click- wrap, or browser-wrap licenses are very popular in online transactions. Unlike conventional physical goods. the breach of license contract is closely linked with the infringement of intellectual property rights. Digitalized intellectual property is easy to copy and transmit in the cyber space. In cases of legal disputes from the breach of license contract, commercial arbitration or on-line alternative dispute resolutions(ADRs) are regarded as better approach to solve them rather than court sues. For promoting more secure and reliable international trade of digital goods. arbitration clauses should be included in most of license contracts.

비정형 빅데이터를 이용한 난수생성용 블록체인 오라클 (Blockchain Oracle for Random Number Generator using Irregular Big Data)

  • 블록체인 2.0은 프로그래밍 가능한 스마트계약을 사용하여 다양한 DApp(Distributed Application) 개발을 지원한다. 하지만 스마트계약이 동작하는 환경은 블록 높이, 블록 해쉬, 트랜잭션 해쉬 등 결정된 데이터만 접근할 수 있어서 블록체인 기반 복권, 배팅, 키 생성 등 난수를 필요로 하는 응용은 블록체인 외부에서 데이터를 가져 올 수 있는 오라클 서비스를 이용해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 난수 생성 오라클 서비스를 개발하였다. 또한 난수 생성을 위해 비정형 빅데이터를 entropy source로 사용하였다. 이렇게 생성된 난수를 NIST SP800-22 난수 테스트하여 난수로 사용할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 물리적 세계를 entropy source로 사용하는 기존의 진성난수 생성기에 비해서 비용측면에서 유리함을 설명한다.

외식 프랜차이즈 기업에서 원자재 공급이 관계 규범과 가맹점의 재계약 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Raw Material Supply on the Relationship Pattern and Franchise Re-Contract Intention in Food-Service Franchise Enterprises)

  • In the management activities of head office in supporting franchisees in domestic food-service enterprises, the raw material supply plays a positive role to support franchisees' operation activity and it comes into conflict with them at the same time. In this paper, I have tried to find out the relationship between raw material supplying and the satisfaction of the franchisees by experimental research in order to research the route of head office's raw material supplying. To sum up the results, it was found out there is no meaningful relationship between the raw material supplying and the franchisees satisfaction (intention to renew the agreement), It indicates it would be more effective for the franchisees to buy the raw materials from the suppliers developed by the franchisees except some key materials in order to reduce the conflicts with the franchisees.

Spatial Segmentation of the Intra-Metropolitan Local Labor Markets : A Theroetical Review

  • Intra-metropolitan spatial segmentation of the labor marker requires barriers of mobility on both supply and demand side of the local labor marker. The phenomena of spatial segmentation of the labor market are particularly applied to the secondary workers rather than to the primary workers. Supply side barriers include the costs of obtaining job information regarding jobs outside of the immediate area, commuting costs, and barriers to residential mobility. Demand side barriers include site-specific technology and product demand, and discrimination. In this paper, I discuss these barriers and examine their implications for differences in segmentation by demographic and skill groups at the intra-metropolitan scale. In particular, I apply a job search model to examine supply side barriers such as information and commuting costs, and an implicit contract model to explain demand side barriers such as dual/internal labor market and firms' (re) location strategies.

공급망 ESG 관리에서 예상되는 분쟁 중재에 관한 연구 - 포스코와 네이버 사례를 중심으로 - (A Study on Expected Dispute Arbitration in Supply Chain ESG Management: Focusing on the cases of POSCO and NAVER)

  • "ESG management" guides companies to prioritize corporate social responsibility and sustainable development as key management objectives, going beyond mere financial performance pursuits. This approach involves creating a sustainable and robust supply chain by urging companies, acting as 'supply chain managers', to implement ESG management practices alongside their 'supply chain partners'. The domestic business community has been quick to respond to this trend, recognizing that failure to adhere to ESG standards set by organizations such as the EU and SEC could lead to severe repercussions, including exclusion from international trade and reputational damage. POSCO and NAVER, two leading Korean companies, are at the forefront of practicing ESG management effectively. They have both produced and publicly disclosed ESG management reports, showcasing their success in enhancing supply chain ESG management. However, as supply chain managers enforce ESG-related obligations on their suppliers, the likelihood of disputes between the parties may increase. In scenarios where supply chain ESG management leads to conflicts between supply chain managers and suppliers, commercial arbitration emerges as a viable solution for dispute resolution. This method offers several advantages, including the arbitrators' expertise, time and cost efficiency, the binding nature of decisions akin to a court's final judgment, international recognition under the New York Convention, confidentiality, and ample opportunity for parties to be heard. Our analysis focuses on the emerging disputes between supply chain managers and suppliers within the context of supply chain ESG management, particularly examining the cases of POSCO and NAVER. By categorizing the expected types of disputes and assessing the appropriateness of commercial arbitration for their resolution, we highlight the effectiveness of this approach. Furthermore, we propose leveraging the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board's role to enhance the use of arbitration in resolving supply chain ESG disputes, underscoring its potential as a strategic tool for maintaining sustainable and harmonious supply chain relationships.
