This paper describes the design of ISDN D channel Layer 3 protocol for the supplementary service after the Basic Service was implemented. It provides overview interaction diagram for user side and network side of the interface for a circuit-switched call as a design model and explains processes and signals.

The Test Signal Method is adopted to analyze the impact of thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC) on sub-synchronous oscillation. The results show that the simulation system takes the risk of Sub-synchronous Oscillation (SSO) while the TCSC is operating in the capacitive region. A supplementary excitation damping controller (SEDC) is used to mitigate SSO caused by the TCSC. A new optimization method which is aimed for optimal phase compensation is proposed. This method is realized by using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The simulation results show that the SEDC designed by this method has superior suitability, and that the secure operation scope of the TCSC is greatly increased.

This paper presents an $H_{\infty}$ based robust STATCOM supplementary controller design to suppress the SSR in series-compensated line. This controller is designed to have the robust stability against the plant model uncertainty. Time domain simulations using a nonlinear system model show that the proposed STATCOM supplementary controller can suppress the SSR efficiently against the plant model uncertainty

The purpose of this study is to investigate communication styles in married couples. The subjects are a total of 301 couples living in Seoul. The main results are summarized as follows: 1. The styles of marital communication are consisted of 5 factors which are reproachful attitude, rational attitude, concessive attitude, unilateral attitude, and unconcerned attitude. 2. The styles of marital communication are classified into 5 styles in husbands which are arbitrary style, obeident style, authoritarian style, unconcerned style, and respectful style, and in wives, 4 styles which are arbitrary style, obeident style, unconcerned style, and respectful style. 3. The husband's arbitrary style and wives' unconcerned style are differently perceived by husbands and wives. 4. The relations of marital communication styles are classified into 3 relations which are supplementary relation, antagonistic relation, and equal relation. 5. In the case of equal relation and supplementary relation in comparison with antagonistic relation, husbands satisfy more with their wives' communication. And in the case of antagonistic relation in comparison with supplementary relation, husbands and wives want more to change of spouses' communication. 5. The relations of marital communication styles are affected in husbans by education, in wives by age, and family life cycle.

This research was carried out to evaluate role of supplementary reagents, such as phosphate and SDS, to remove hydrophobic organic contaminant from soils during the EK-Fenton process. The $H_2O$$_2$ stability improved due to the role as stabilizer of phosphate and SDS during the EK-Fenton process. Furthermore, although pH in region near cathode was 8.2 after test, $H_2O$$_2$ stability improved due to transportation of SDS in the region near cathode. Therefore, in tests using phosphate and SDS as supplementary reagent, the efficiency of phenanthrene treatment improved through the EK-Fenton process using longer reaction time.

A study for the supplementary diet of the infants and young children of the farming area in Korea has been made. The number of infants and children was 344 aged from 3 months to 2 years and 7 months: the area studied represented one of the stabilized farming areas in this country. 95.6 per cent of the infants were breastfeeding babies, who could not supply any milk products or appropriate supplementary diets. For the improvement of nutritional states of the babies, regional childcare guidance was more urgently needed than social economical problems of this area.

This study was carried out to investigate the supplementary effects of ${\gamma}$-oryzanol extracted from rice bran on lipid metabolism in diabetic mice. We supplied 2 kinds of experimental diets (CO without and GO with 0.2％ ${\gamma}$-oryzanol) to diabetic mice for 8 weeks. Diet intake, body weight, organ weight, contents of serum and hepatic lipid profiles, and fecal lipid levels were measured. Though there was no significant difference in diet intake, body weight change and organ weight between experimental groups, the concentration of serum total cholesterol and hepatic total lipid, total cholesterol and HMG-CoA reductase activity was significantly lower in GO group treated with 0.2％ ${\gamma}$-oryzanol of diet than CO group after supplementary period of experimental diets. And total lipid, triglyceride, total cholesterol, and bile acid levels excreted to feces were significantly higher in GO group than CO group. These results suggest that ${\gamma}$-oryzanol decrease the serum and hepatic lipid levels by lowing HMG-CoA reductase activity or increasing the contents of fecal lipid in diabetic KK mice.

To develop the supplementary heart valve which could reduce the complications of prosthetic heart valve, in vitro experiments were performed to analyze the movement of the supplementary valves. The autologous pericardium was attached to deficient portion of the porcine valve which was dissected completely and partially. The instantaneous motion of the leaflet was pictured by the 35mm camera and the pressure drop through the valve and cardiac output were measured in mock circulatory system. The durability of the valves were tested in severe hemodynamic conditions.

This paper presents the design of an H$\infty$ based robust Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) supplementary controller to suppress the subsynchronous resonance (SSR) in the series-compensated system. The IEEE second benchmark, System-l model is employed for this study. In order to design the effective controller, the modal controllability and observability indices to the oscillation modes are considered. Comprehensive time domain simulations using a nonlinear system model that the proposed STATCOM supplementary controller can suppress the SSR efficiently in spite of the variations of power system operating conditions.

This paper presents an LQG based robust TCSC supplementary controller design to suppress the SSR in the FACTS. This controller is designed to have the robust stability against the plant model uncertainty. The robust stability is guaranteed using the $\mu$ analysis. Time domain simulations using a nonlinear system model show that the proposed TCSC supplementary controller can suppress the SSR efficiently against the plant model uncertainty.
