  • households using the 2007 Korean Retirement and Income Study. Elderly households were classified into three groups based on the comparisons among the costs of living and then the factors influencing the probability of belonging to each group were investigated using multiple logistic regression models. The major findings are as follows. Firstly, the subjective adequate cost of living was the highest and the subjective minimum cost of living was the lowest. The actual cost of living was in between. Secondly, 42.6% of elderly households belonged to Group1(whose actual cost of living was less than the subjective minimum cost of living), 30.0% was classified into Group2(whose actual cost of living was greater than the subjective minimum cost of living but less than the subjective adequate cost of living) and the actual cost of living of the remaining 27.4% was greater than the subjective adequate cost of living(Group3). Thirdly, income was the strongest factor influencing the probability of belonging to each group, but the influencing factors were different for the logistic models for Group1 and Group3 based on Group2.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to determine the association between the oral health behavior of adolescents, symptoms of awareness and subjective happiness. Methods: This study is the 16th (2020) primitive self-administered survey that is completed using data on youth health behavior 54,948 to finally select people. Acomposite sample analysis was performed using SPSS window program 21.0. A chi-square test was performed tocompare subjective happiness according to the general characteristics of the subjects, oral health behavior, and awareness symptoms. Logistic regression analysis of the subjective happiness factor was the impact on composite samples. Results: Oral health is a subjective factor that affects happiness. Happiness was found to be 1.479 times higher when participants brushed their teeth more than three times a day and 1.175 times higher when they brushed after lunch. However, subjective happiness was 0.901 times lower when the awareness symptoms of pain was experienced, 0.843 times lower when there was tingling and throbbing, and 0.841 times lower when there was gingival pain. Conclusions: It is necessary to develop and guide various activity programs so that youth oral health education and subjective feelings of happiness can be improved to promote oral health.

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the relations between Children's stress, self-esteem, and subjective well-being with a sample of 320 elementary school 5th graders (of which 161 were boys and 159 were girls) living in Seoul. They completed questionnaires on Children's stress, self-esteem, and subjective well-being. The results were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlation coefficients and regressions. It was observed that children's stress of studying/mother was negatively related to subjective well-being. Children's self-esteem was positively related to subjective well-being. Children's stress of studying/mother was negatively related to self-esteem. Self-esteem tended to play a perfectly mediating role between children's stress of studying/mother and subjective well-being. These results clearly indicate that children's self-esteem plays a crucial role in improving the levels of children's subjective well-being.

  • This study was designed to investigate the efficiency of subjective assessment that exams the subjective symptom of patients with back pain at the department of physical therapy. To assess the subjective symptom, we used the pain questionnaire using visual analogue scale (VAS) that was developed by Wang on 1995. Questionnaires were administered to 31 adult patients(male : 11, female : 20) with herniated lumbar disk(13), low back pain(8), myofascial pain syndrom(5), lumbar strain(4), ankylosing spondylitis(1). Mean age was 36.3 ranged from 20 to 65. The results of this study were as follows : 1) In each of 15 subjects, there was a significant decrease in VAS between pre- and post-treatment(p<0.05). 2) Mean VAS of total subjects was $6.26{\pm}2.55$ in pre-treatment, $4.50{\pm}2.47$ in post-treatment (p<0.001). Result of this study was shown efficiency of pain management by subjective assessment. The continuous study is needed for many interesting illue of pain management using VAS.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the causal relationships among hedonic belief, ambivalence, subjective norm, attitude and meat consumption behavior. A total of 318 questionnaires were completed. Structural equation model was used to measure the causal effects of constructs. Results of the study demonstrated that fit of the restricted baseline model is significantly worse than that of the unrestricted proposed model, in which more parameters are estimated. The effects of hedonic belief, ambivalence and subjective norm on attitude were statistically significant. The effects of hedonic belief, subjective norm and attitude on meat consumption were statistically significant. The effect of attitude on intention was statistically significant. Moreover, attitude played a mediating role in the relationships between hedonic belief and meat consumption, between ambivalence and meat consumption, and between subjective norm and intention. This study suggested that the consumer decision-making process for eating meat products is best modeled as a complex system that incorporates both direct and indirect effects on meat consumption. This study believed the evidence presented supports this position. Moreover, this study appeared to be a worthy area of pursuit.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the associations among self-rated health and socioeconomic status. Methods: Analyses were conducted based on cross-sectional data obtained from the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. A total of 79,202 students aged 12 to 18 years participated in the study and there was a response rate of 95.5%. Separate logistic regression analyses were performed on each gender group based on a set of independent variables. Those being: the level of parental education level; family affluence scale; subjective household economic status; and subjective school achievement with SRH as the dependent variable. Results: Multivariate analyses revealed significant associations between each SES and adolescent SRH after controlling for other covariates. However, in the models that included all SES indicators, subjective household economic status and subjective school achievement remained significant in boys and girls. Conclusions: The findings demonstrated that subjective SES indicators are more closely related to adolescent SRH when compared with objective indicators.
