XPS와 SIMS를 이용한 PSG/SiO2/Al-1%Si 적층 박막내의 Na 게터링 분석 (Analysis of the Na Gettering in PSG/SiO2/Al-1%Si Multilevel Thin Films using XPS and SIMS)

  • In order to investigate the Na gettering, PSG/$SiO_2$/Al-1%Si multilevel thin films were fabricated. DC magnetron sputter techniques and APCVD (atmosphere pressure chemical vapor deposition) were utilized for the deposition of Al-1%Si thin films and PSG/$SiO_2$ passivations, respectively. Heat treatment was carried out at $300^{\circ}C$ for 5 h in air. SIMS (secondary ion mass spectrometry) depth profiling and XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) analysis were used to determine the distribution and binding energies of Na, Al, Si, O, P and other elements throughout the PSG/$SiO_2$/Al-1%Si multilevel thin films. Na peaks were mainly observed at the the PSG/$SiO_2$ interface and at the $SiO_2$/Al-1%Si interfaces. Na impurity gettering in PSG/$SiO_2$/Al-1%Si multilevel thin films is considered to be caused by a segregation type of gettering. The chemical state of Si and O elements in PSG passivation appears to be $SiO_2$.

Chemical and Mechanical Sustainability of Silver Tellurite Glass Containing Radioactive Iodine-129

  • Silver tellurite glasses with melting temperature of approximately 700℃ were developed to immobilize 129I wastes. Long-term dissolution tests in 0.1 M acetic acid and disposability assessment were conducted to evaluate sustainability of the glasses. Leaching rate of Te, Bi and I from the glasses decreased for up to 16 d, then remained stable afterwards. On the contrary, tens to tens of thousands of times more of Ag was leached in comparison to the other elements; additionally, Ag leached continuously for all 128 d of the test owing to the exchange of Ag+ and H+ ions between the glasses and solution. The I leached much lower than those of other elements even though it leached ~10 times more in 0.1 M acetic acid than in deionized water. Some TeO4 units in the glass network were transformed to TeO3 by ion exchange and hydrolysis. These silver tellurite glasses met all waste acceptance criteria for disposal in Korea.

Structural, morphological, optical, and photosensing properties of Cs2TeI6 thin film synthesized by two-step dry process

  • Recently, cesium tellurium iodine (Cs2TeI6) has emerged as an inorganic halide perovskite material with potential application in optoelectronic devices due to its high absorption coefficient, suitable bandgap and because it consists of nontoxic and earth-abundant elements. However, studies on its fabrication process as well as photoresponse characteristics are limited. In this study, a simple and effective method is introduced for the synthesis of Cs2TeI6 thin films by a two-step dry process. A Cs2TeI6-based lateral photosensor was fabricated, and its photoresponse characteristics were explored under laser illuminations of four different wavelengths in the visible range: 405, 450, 520, and 655 nm. The initial photosensing results suggest potential application and can lead to more promising studies of Cs2TeI6 film in optoelectronics.

Determination of k0 factors of short-lived nuclides 46mSc and 110Ag for the k0-NAA

  • The k0-standardization neutron activation analysis method has successfully determined the mass fraction of elements of interest using around a hundred analytical radionuclides. However, several very short-lived nuclides with half-life less than 100 s have not been used at Dalat research reactor. One of the reasons is that the values of k0-factors of these nuclides are significantly different. Therefore, this work focused on re-determination and evaluation of k0-factors of very short-lived nuclides 110Ag (T1/2 = 24 s) and 46mSc (T1/2 = 18.75 s). The results of determination of the short-lived nuclides revealed that k0-factor of 110Ag is significantly difference between the existing data and the obtained results in this work. The evaluation of the k0-factors was done by using the obtained results for application of k0-NAA for NIST-1566b and NIST-2711A standard reference materials.

  • This study is about digits of numbers in system logic B3. Any real number is written as digits in the binary system, in the ternary system. The numbers in base two and base three are also written in the B3 system ternary logic. These two writing methods are transferred into the third method. The real numbers 0,1 and 0, 1, 2 are written as digits. The same real numbers are written as digits of elements of the set -1, 0, 1 in base B3. The periods here are investigated. The relationship between these digits is analysed.

부산 서부지역의 대기 중 PM10 농도와 화학적 조성 분석 (PM10 Concentration and Chemical Composition in Western Area of Busan)

  • 2001년 3월부터 2002년 2월까지 부산의 신라대학교 옥상에서 측정한 PM$_{10}$의 질량농도와 화학적 성분을 조사한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) PM$_{10}$의 질량농도는 평균 98.21 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥로 나타났으며, 최고농도는 330.56 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥로서 연간 기준치인 80 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥를 초과하였다. 또한 K(1.23 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)>Ca (1.12 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)>Na(0.79 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥))>Al(0.76 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)>Fe (0.75 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥) 순으로서 높은 조성을 보였고, Cd (2.72 ng/㎥)이 가장 낮은 질량 농도를 보였다. 2) Cd, Ni, Pb 및 Zn은 평균 지각농축계수가 10이상의 인위적인 기원으로 봄철과 여름철에 비하여 서풍계열의 바람이 우세한 겨울철에 매우 높은 값을 보였으며, 연구 지역의 서쪽에 인접한 사상공단과 서남쪽에 위치한 신평 .장림공단으로부터 서풍계열의 바람을 타고 이동되었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이들 중금속은 미세입자의 조성에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 평균 토양입자의 기여율은 9.5%로 나타났다. 3) PM$_{10}$의 조성에 관여하는 금속 원소들은 토양, 해양 및 인위적인 오염물질에 의한 기원을 동시에 포함하고 있으나 해양기원보다는 토양 및 인위적인 기원들 간의 상관성이 우세하게 나타났다.

한라산 1,100 m 지역의 대기 중 PM2.5에 함유된 이온 및 원소 성분의 조성특성 (Ionic and Elemental Compositions of PM2.5 at the 1,100 m-Highland of Mt. Hallasan in Jeju Island)

  • In this study, mass concentrations and chemical compositions of $PM_{2.5}$, including water-soluble ions and elements were determined at the 1,100 m-highland of Mt. Hallasan in Jeju Island across four seasons from August 2013 to August 2014. The average mass concentration of $PM_{2.5}$ was $12.5{\pm}8.41{\mu}g/m^3$ with 45.8% of the contribution from eight water-soluble ionic species. Three ionic species ($SO{_4}^{2-}$, $NH{_4}^+$, and $NO{_3}^-$) comprised 96.2% of the total concentration of ions contained in $PM_{2.5}$ and were the dominant ions, accounting for 43.5% of the $PM_{2.5}$ mass at Mt. Hallasan. On the basis of the mass concentration level, seasonal variation, enrichment factor, and relationship among elements, we can presume that Mg, K, Ca, Mn, Fe, Co, Sr, Ba, Nd, and Dy originated mainly from crust or soil and that V, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, and Pb were significantly enriched in $PM_{2.5}$ owing to the effects of the anthropogenic emissions. These results and the local distribution of emission sources and topographic characteristics near this sampling site suggest that the compositions of $PM_{2.5}$ collected at the 1100 m-highland of Mt. Hallasan were largely influenced by inflow from outside of Jeju Island.

건축물 계획단계 LCCO2 평가시스템의 필요요소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Requisite Elements of LCCO2 Evaluation System at Planning Stage of Building)

  • 국내에서 기 개발된 $LCCO_2$ 평가프로그램은 실시설계 이후에 자재물량을 직접 입력하는 방식으로, 최적의 환경부하 저감 전략을 입안하는데 한계가 있었다. 이에 본 논문은 계획단계에서 비용대비 에너지 효율이 높은 방안으로 신속하게 대응하면서 정확성이 높은 시스템을 구축하기 위한 필요 요소를 추출하고 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 기존의 국내외 $LCCO_2$ 평가프로그램을 비교분석하여 계획단계에서 건축물의 에너지 성능개선 전략수립을 목적으로 한 GEM-21P와 Carbon Navigator를 조사대상 평가프로그램으로 선정한 후, 두 프로그램에 대해서$LCCO_2$ 산출방법과 시스템의 구조에 대한 비교분석을 실시하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 계획단계에서 건축물의 전 생애 환경부하를 평가할 수 있는 시스템구축의 필요요소를 제안하였다.

부산 하수처리장에서 공정별 용존 희토류 원소의 농도 및 인위적 기원 가돌리늄의 배출량 평가 (Assessments of Dissolved Rare Earth Elements and Anthropogenic Gadolinium Concentrations in Different Processes of Wastewater Treatment Plant in Busan, Korea)

  • 자기공명영상(MRI) 장비의 조영제로 흔히 사용되는 가돌리늄(Gd)은 매우 안정된 상태로 하수처리과정에서 거의 제거되지 않고 수환경으로 유입된다고 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 세 가지의 공법으로 하수처리를 하는 부산 수영 하수처리장에서 채취한 하수 시료의 공정별 용존 희토류 원소의 제거율 및 수환경으로 배출되는 인위적 기원 Gd(Gdanth)의 배출량을 평가하고자 하였다. 용존 희토류 원소는 공정별 처리 단계에 따라 무거운 희토류 원소(Tb-Lu)에 비해 가벼운 희토류 원소(La-Eu)에서 농도가 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 또한 일부 시료에서 나타난 음의(negative) Sm anomaly (<1)는 생물학적 제거 과정에서 Sm이 입자나 인산염과 흡착되어 함께 제거되었을 가능성을 시사한다. 모든 시료에서 양의(positive) Gd anomaly (149±50, n=9)를 보였으며, 공정별로 측정된 Gd의 총 농도 중 Gdanth은 약 97% 이상을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 하수처리과정에서 Gdanth 이 거의 제거되지 않고 수영강 하류로 배출된다는 것을 의미한다. 일별 처리용량을 고려하여 각 공정에서 배출되는 Gdanth의 배출량은 259 mmol/day로 추정할 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 하수처리장을 통해 수영만 연안으로 Gdanth이 지속적으로 배출될 것으로 예상되며, 향후 Gd의 중장기적인 관측이 필요함을 시사한다.

Impact of Dust Transported from China on Air Quality in Korea -Characteristics of PM2.5 Concentrations and Metallic Elements in Asan and Seoul, Korea

  • [ $PM_{2.5}$ ], particulate matter less than 2.5 um in a diameter, can penetrate deeply into the lungs. Exposure to $PM_{2.5}$ has been associated with increased hospital visits for respiratory aliments as well as increase mortality. $PM_{2.5}$ is a byproduct of combustion processes and as such has a complex composition including a variety of metallic elements, inorganic and organic compounds as well as biogenic materials (microorganisms, proteins, etc). In this study, the average concentrations of fine particulates $PM_{2.5}$ have been measured simultaneously in Asan and Seoul, Korea, by using particulate matter portable sampler from September 2001 to August 2002. Sample collection filters were analyzed by ICP-OES to determine the concentrations of metallic elements (As, Ni, Fe, Cr, Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn, Si). Annual mean $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations in Asan and Seoul were 37.70 and $45.83\;{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively. The highest concentrations of $PM_{2.5}$ were found in spring season in both cities and the concentrations of measured metallic elements except As in Asan were higher than those in Seoul, suggesting that yellow dust in spring could affect $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations in Asan rather than Seoul. The correlation coefficients of Pb and Zn were 0.343 for Asan and 0.813 for Seoul during non-yellow dust condition, suggesting that Pb and Zn were influenced with the same sources. The correlation coefficients between Si and Fe in the fine particulate mode were 0.999 (Asan) and 0.998 (Seoul) during yellow dust condition. It was suggested that these two elements were impacted by soil-related transport from China during the yellow dust storm condition.
