다문화가정 초등학생의 자아존중감과 건강행위 간의 관련성 (Association between Self-esteem and Health Behavior of the Children with Multi-cultural Family Background)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to identify the characteristics of health behavior and self-esteem and the relationship between the two factors among elementary school students with multi-cultural family background. Participants: Survey participants were 87 multi-cultural family children who lived in Seoul and Kyoungi areas and were registered in the local elementary schools. Methods: Data collection was conducted by face-to-face interview survey. Elementary education majored undergraduate students who participated in the education support program for multi-cultural family children in the Ministry of Education and Science and primary researcher of this study interviewed the target students and finished the survey questionnaire based on the students' responses. Survey included general characteristics, multi-cultural family characteristics, self-esteem, and (physical, mental, and social) health behavior. Results: 1. The self-esteem scores of the multi-cultural families children were greater in girl than boys among the children whose parents were graduated from college or more, and whose father had his job. The participants' health behavior scores were different by mothers' educational level. 2. The better they speak in English the greater the self-esteem scores. There was no statistical difference in health behavior scores by the participants' multi-cultural family background. 3. Self-esteem had moderate level correlation with health behavior (r= .56, p= .00) including all sub-categories of physical, mental, and social health. Conclusions: Positive self-esteem level is more sensitive to explain multi-cultural family children's health behaviors, which means that self-esteem is an important factor determining multi-cultural children's health behaviors and their health status in future. Therefore, more research to identify the factors related to health behaviors should be supported and the health promotion programs utilizing self-esteem should be developed for the child and youth with multi-cultural family backgrounds.

충북지역 초등학교의 다문화가정 학생을 위한 공간 특성 연구 (A Study of Spacial Traits for the Students from Multi-Cultural Families in Elementary Schools in North Chungcheong Province)

  • The number of foreign residents is expected to increase with the increase of international marriage in rural area and the avoidance of 3D jobs, which is also anticipated to cause various problems more serious. This kind of phenomenon will bring about the increase of the students from the multi-cultural families and a big change in the schools along with the decrease of the students in rural area. Currently, school's interest in and support for those students from multi-cultural families are focused on the promotion of their learning capability. However, I think that not just the support for the students from multi-cultural families but a new space for the two student-groups' smooth communication in schools is to be arranged. Accordingly, this study suggests. The support limited to educational programs for those students from multi-cultural families should be expanded to the school facilities. What kind of preparation should be done by school facilities in the future. There should be five steps of intermediate space with the additional function other than that of communication between Korean native students and those from multi-cultural families along with the utilization of existing rooms and space.

인지진단모형을 활용한 수학 학업성취 결과 분석 -2011년 국가수준 학업성취도 평가 자료를 중심으로- (The Analysis of Students' Mathematics Achievement by Applying Cognitive Diagnostic Model)

  • 본 연구는 2011년 학업성취도 평가 결과를 Fusion 모형이라는 인지진단모형을 적용하여 수학교과에서 학교급별, 성취수준별, 성별에 따른 인지요소 숙달 양상과 다문화가정의 인지요소 숙달 양상을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 초6은 12개의 인지요소에서 '귀납적으로 추론하기', 중3은 10개의 인지요소에서 '연역적으로 정당화하기', 고2는 10개의 인지요소 중 '사칙계산'이 가장 높은 숙달 비율을 보였다. 성취수준별로 인지요소의 숙달 양상을 분석한 결과, 초 중 고 모두 우수학력 집단은 전체 인지요소에서 94%이상의 숙달률을 보였으나, 기초학력이하 집단 학생들은 거의 모든 인지요소에서 초6과 중3의 경우 미숙달 비율이 70%이상이었고 고2는 99%이상이었다. 또한, 초6, 중3까지는 전반적으로 여학생의 인지요소 숙달 비율이 남학생보다 높으나 고2에서는 대부분의 인지요소에서 남학생이 여학생보다 숙달 비율이 높게 나타났다. 다문화가정 학생 집단과 일반가정 학생 집단 간 인지요소의 숙달 양상은 학교급별로 상이하게 나타났다.

다문화가정 초등학생의 부모에 대한 애착관계가 분노와 분노표현에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Parental Attachment of Elementary School Students' Perception on Anger and Anger Expressions of Children in Multi-cultural Families)

  • Objectives: The study has a purpose of contributing to understanding children of multi-cultural families and healthy development of children by examining influences of parental attachment perceived by the children on their anger trait and anger expressions. Methods: The data were collected from 113 students in grade 4~6, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, pearson correlation coefficient by the SPSS/PC 18.0 program. Results: The result showed the stable attachment with parents significantly influences children's anger and expression(anger out/control). And mother's attachment was significantly stronger than father's attachment, especially mutual trust and communication. Father's attachment had significantly negative influences state-trait anger and anger out/in, and mother's attachment had significantly negative influences state-trait anger and anger out. Actually father's attachment had stronger influences children's anger and anger expression. Conclusions: There was relationship between father's attachment and anger trait/ expression by children of multi-cultural families. For the effective management of multi-cultural children's anger, programs focusing on improving father-child relationships need to be established.

다문화가정 어머니의 긍정적 양육태도가 청소년의 학교적응에 미치는 영향: 자아탄력성의 매개효과 (The Effect of Maternal Positive Parenting Attitudes on School Adjustment among Multi-cultural Adolescents in Korea: Mediating Effect of Ego-resiliency)

  • This study examined the effect of maternal positive parenting attitudes on school adjustment among multi-cultural adolescents in Korea and investigated if multi-cultural adolescents' ego-resiliency mediates the relationship between maternal positive parenting attitudes and school adjustment. We used panel data from the fifth wave (2015) of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS) collected by the National Youth Policy Institute. Participants were 1,297 multi-cultural adolescents (639 boys, 658 girls) who are second-year middle school students and have foreign mothers. SPSS 25.0 performed descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis. The structural equation model (SEM) was estimated with Mplus 5.12. The results of this study were as follows. First, a higher level of maternal positive parenting attitudes were related to higher level of ego-resiliency and school adjustment for multi-cultural adolescents. Second, maternal positive parenting attitudes had an indirect effect on school adjustment for multi-cultural adolescents via ego-resiliency. The results of this study indicate that maternal positive parenting behaviors would help improve the school adjustment of multi-cultural adolescents by increasing the level of ego-resiliency. In addition, the results of this study suggest that improving ego-resiliency for multi-cultural adolescents can be an effective method to help in school adjustment, as well as education for maternal parenting attitude.

2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 기술·가정 교과서 '인간발달과 가족' 영역에 반영된 다문화교육 내용 분석 (Analysis of Multi-Cultural Education Contents of 'Human Development and Family' Area of Middle School Technology-Home Economics Textbooks in Accordance with the 2015 Revised Curriculum)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 기술·가정교과서의 '인간발달과 가족' 영역에서 다문화교육 내용이 어떻게 반영되고 있는지 분석개념별로 분석하는 데 있으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2015 개정교육과정 중학교 기술·가정교과서 5종(총 10권)에 실린 다문화교육 내용을 종합해 보면, 정체성, 다양성, 평등성, 협력 등 다문화교육 분석개념 4가지를 모두 반영하고 있었다. 가장 높은 빈도를 보이는 것은 협력이며, 그 다음이 정체성, 다양성의 순서였고, 평등성에 대한 내용은 가장 낮은 빈도를 나타내고 있었다. 둘째, 2015 개정교육과정 중학교 기술·가정교과서 5종(총 10권)에 실린 다문화교육 내용을 구체적으로 살펴보면 자아 및 정체성을 형성하고, 다양한 관점에서 가족의 변화를 이해하고 다양한 가족의 형태를 존중하고 수용하며, 편견 없는 양성 평등한 관점에서 가족 공동체 문화를 형성하여 궁극적으로 개인과 가정이 서로 협력하고 배려하면서 모두가 공존할 수 있는 내용을 배울 수 있도록 다문화교육 내용이 본문, 시각자료, 학습활동에 포함되어 있었다. 따라서 가정교과는 다문화 청소년의 삶과 연계된 내용을 중심으로 실천적 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 실천적 추론을 할 수 있는 내용 구성으로 이루어져 보다 성숙한 다문화교육 문화에 중추적인 역할을 기여해야 한다.

청소년의 다문화 인식과 다문화효능감 (Perceptions and Efficacy of the Multiculture Among Adolescents)

  • This study performed to develop a basic framework of adolescent's perceptions about multicultural families, the children of multicultural families, the impacts of cultural exchange on cultural diversity, and multicultural efficacy. The participants were 368 students from four high schools in the Seoul area. The data were analysyed by ANOVA, Duncan-test, and multiple regression. The results revealed significant differences; perceptions of the multicultural family was the highest among those who believed the perceptions would increase, while the lowest among those believing to decrease. Perceptions of multicultural efficacy showed significant differences in thought about education for understanding other country people, the multi media experiences of multicultural families, knowledge about the multiculture, and thought about an increasing number of multicultural families. There were significant correlations among perceptions about the multicultural family, the children in the multicultural family, the impacts of cultural exchange on cultural diversity, and efficacy of the multicultural environment.

한국 다문화가정 청소년의 스트레스와 자살생각과의 관련성 (The relationship between stress and suicidal ideation among the Korean Multi-Cultural family Adolescents)

  • 우리나라 다문화가정 청소년들을 대상으로 스트레스와 자살생각과의 관련성을 파악하고자 2011년 7차와 2012년 8차 청소년건강행태 온라인조사의 자료를 통합하여 남학생 607명, 여학생 543명을 대상으로 자살생각과의 관련요인을 스트레스의 원인을 중심으로 파악하고자 하였다. 통계 프로그램은 SPSS version 17.0을 이용하였다. 통계분석시 부모 두 분 중 한분이 태어난 곳이 한국이 아닌 학생을 다문화가정 청소년으로 하였고, 통계적 유의성은 p<0.05로 하였다. 자살생각 유무를 종속변수로 하여 자살생각과 스트레스 원인과의 관련성을 알아보고자 단순 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 비차비(Odds Ratio, OR)를 산출 하였으며, 복합표본을 설정하여 분석을 하였다. 남학생의 경우 교우들과의 문제로 인한 스트레스를 받은 학생의 자살생각이 2.70배 높았고, 여학생의 경우 부모님과의 갈등으로 인한 스트레스를 받는 학생의 자살생각이 2.50배 높았다. 결론적으로 다문화가정의 청소년들의 자살생각에 영양을 미칠 수 있는 개인, 가정, 학교생활과 관련된 여러 스트레스의 원인 중 부모와 친구들과의 관계개선을 통해 다문화가정의 청소년의 자살 생각의 예방과 관리를 위해 사회적인 관심이 필요하다고 생각된다.

중도입국 학교청소년의 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인 탐색 (Exploration Factors Affecting Depression of Immigrant School-Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 중도입국 청소년의 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하였다. 우울의 영향요인을 분석하기 위해 가족요인, 학교요인, 다문화요인으로 구성하여 학교급별의 차이를 살펴보았다. 이를 위한 자료는 2015년 전국다문화가족실태조사를 활용하여 집단간 차이분석, 교차분석, 다중회귀분석을 하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 초등학생의 우울에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 학교폭력경험으로 나타났다. 중학생의 우울에는 다문화가족정체성이, 고등학생은 학교공부어려움이 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 모든 집단에서 우울에 영향을 미치는 주요 변인은 사회적 차별경험으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 중도입국 청소년들의 안정적인 정착을 위해서 연령에 따른 차별화된 지원이 필요함을 시사한다. 또한 사회적 차별경험은 우울을 증가시키는 요인으로 밝혀짐에 따라 우선적으로 학교환경에서의 적극적인 개입이 이루어져야 한다.

The Use of Facebook in International Multi-course Collaborative Projects in Fashion Merchandising Curriculums

  • This study examined students' perceived importance of the benefits derived from an international multi-course collaborative (IMCC) project and how these perceptions impact students' extrinsic and intrinsic motivations for using the project Facebook (i.e., perceived usefulness and enjoyment), attitude toward the project, and intent to participate in future IMCC projects. The data were collected from 96 students who participated in the IMCC project and were enrolled in four different fashion merchandising courses in two different countries, the U.S. and South Korea. This study found that perceived enjoyment of the project Facebook influenced attitude toward the project and intent to participate in future IMCC projects. Perceived usefulness and enjoyment were predicted by the perceived importance of cultural understanding and feedback exchange among international group members. Attitude was influenced by the perceived importance of networking through the IMCC project, while intent to participate in future IMCC projects was predicted by perceived importance of cultural understanding and networking through the IMCC project. This study provides educators in the related disciplines insights about how to incorporate social network sites into course curricula to motivate students' project participation and learning.
