Student Conceptual Understanding and Application on Algebra-problem-based Curricula

  • This paper investigates student conceptual understanding and application on algebra using problem-based curricula. Seven principles which National Research Council announced were considered because these seven principles all involved in the development of a deep conceptual understanding. A problem-based curriculum itself provides a significant contribution to improving student learning. A problem-based curriculum encourages students to obtain a more conceptual understanding in algebra. From the results the national curriculum developers in Korea consider the problem-based curriculum.

교사로서의 정체성을 형성해가는 교육실습생에 대한 내러티브 탐구 (Narrative Inquiry on Student Teacher Searching for Identity as a Teacher)

  • 교육실습은 산란(産卵) 직전의 알이다. 해를 거듭할수록 사범대생에게 교사가 필수가 아니라는 목소리가 증가하고 있다. 그들은 어떤 존재로 부화될 것인가? 닭일까? 오리일까? 나는 55명의 교육실습생이 4주의 교육실습 기간에 교사로 존재 지향점을 찾아가는 과정을 Clandinin과 Connelly(2000)의 내러티브 탐구 방법에 따라 전개하였다. 절차는 현장 들어가기, 현장 텍스트 쓰기, 연구 텍스트 쓰기의 3단계로 이루어졌다. 교육실습생들은 현장에서 관찰한 것과 자극 받은 것 그리고 현장 교사 및 학생들과 인터뷰한 내용을 중심으로 교사로서의 정체성을 찾아가는 주 별 저널을 써 나갔다. 교육실습 카페에서 이루어진 자유롭고 진정성 있는 이야기 220부가 현장 텍스트로 수집되었다. 그리고 연구 텍스트는 각 주별로 탐색, 성장, 반성, 다짐에 대한 시적글쓰기를 통하여 다시 살아내고 다시 이야기하며 내러티브 탐구를 기술해 나갔다. 가정교육과 교육실습생을 비롯한 절대다수의 교육실습생이 교사로서의 삶을 지향하며 부화를 기다리고 있었다.

경진대회 수상자를 통한 학생포트폴리오 작성 경험의 의미 (Study on the Meaning of Student Portfolio Construction That Portfolio Competition Winners Experienced)

  • 본 연구는 학생포트폴리오 작성 경험을 분석함으로써 학생포트폴리오의 교육적 가치 및 작성지도의 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 질적연구를 수행하였는데, 포트폴리오에 대한 문헌연구를 토대로 인터뷰 문항을 구성하고 인천광역시 소재 I 대학의 학생 9명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 인터뷰에 응한 학생들은 교내 학생포트폴리오 경진대회의 수상자 11명 중 일부로써 인터뷰 전 과정을 녹취하고 이를 전사하여 분석하였다. 인터뷰 결과 대부분의 학생들은 공학교육인증 평가를 위해 타의적으로 학생포트폴리오 작성을 시작하였으나 학생포트폴리오 작성이 필요하며 저학년 때부터 작성하는 것이 바람직하다고 인식하였다. 학생포트폴리오 작성시의 어려움으로는 자료 관리의 미비로 자료의 부족을 손꼽았으며 포트폴리오 자체에 대한 인식이 낮아 표준 양식을 제공해 준다고 하더라도 어떻게 작성해야 할지 어려워하고 있었다. 학생들은 학생포트폴리오를 작성함으로써 자기 반성의 기회를 갖고 기록의 중요성을 인식하며, 미래에 대한 준비를 할 수 있는 기회를 갖게 되었다. 이러한 과정을 통해 학생들은 또 다른 활동이나 능력 향상을 위한 동기가 생겨나고 자신감을 획득하게 되며, 꾸준한 포트폴리오 작성 과정으로 인해 문서작성 능력의 향상을 인식하게 되는 등 다양한 긍정적인 효과를 경험할 수 있었다.

한의과대학 학생지원프로그램에 대한 한의대생 인식도 연구 - 1개 한의과대학을 중심으로 - (Survey Research about Student Support Programs In Korean Medicine College)

  • Background and objectives : Student support programs in Korean Medicine (KM) college have been not much activated as compared to other colleges. So, this research is aim to offer a baseline data to plan and run any kind of student support programs by understanding Korean Medicine students' preference and satisfaction. Methods : The survey was taken for 4 weeks from 2nd may 2016 to 27th may 2016, asking 162 out of a total of 255 students from $1^{st}$ grade to $6^{th}$ grade (pre-med to med). 3 Korean medicine doctors and 8 general students in Korean medicine college made the questionnaire by reviewing and modifying used questionnaire for student support programs. It consists of 13 questions (3 questions of demographic characteristics, 10 questions of overall awareness about student support programs). Results : 'Advanced clinical training course' was the most preferred with 23.4% among 13 different student support programs when multiple voting was allowed. 'Chinese Medicine college tour' got 21.6%, and 'Major training in Chinese Medicine college (for 17 days)' followed next with 19.4%. Expected satisfaction score to student support programs was 7.30 on average out of 10. Conclusions : Expected satisfaction to student support program was likely to be high. This research can be utilized as a significant assessment and analysis when developing new student support program for Korean Medicine college students.

학자금 대출이 대졸자 직업탐색 기간에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Student Loan on Job Search Duration)

  • 본 연구는 "한국교육고용패널" 조사를 이용하여 학자금 대출이 대졸자 직업탐색 기간에 미치는 영향에 대해 추정하였다. 특히 학자금 대출이 그 유형에 따라 대출의 보유자에게 상이한 영향을 미칠 가능성을 고려하였다. 추정 결과에 따르면, 첫째, 학자금 보증 대출의 경우 비대출자에 비해 상대적으로 더 긴 직업탐색 기간을 갖는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 원리금 상환을 고려하여 더 높은 임금을 제안받기 위한 선택일 개연성이 있다고 사료된다. 둘째, 취업 후 상환 학자금 대출의 경우 비대출자에 비해 상대적으로 더 짧은 직업탐색 기간을 소비할 뿐만 아니라 역시 더 낮은 임금을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 사실은 이 대출의 보유자가 취업 시까지 납부할 이자는 유예되지만, 축적되는 이자 부담과 여타 학자금 대출 제도에 비해 상환 계획이 짧다는 점 등에 부담을 느끼는 심리적 부담에 의한 역기능이 발생한다고 해석할 수 있다.

Attitude of Thai Merchant Marine Student Toward Mariner Profession

  • The objective of this study was to compare the attitude of merchant marine student of Thailand in 3 aspects; cognitive, affective and behavioral classified by institutes, domiciles, parent's occupation, parent's income per month, motivation and information receiving concerning mariner profession. The sample used in this study consisted of 867students in maritime institutes of Thailand. The instrument implemented in collecting data was a set of 30 five rating scale questionnaires. The statistical methods applied in analyzing the data were mean, standard deviation, t-test and one way analysis of variance and fisher's LSD. The results of this research shows that the attitude in vocational education of Thai merchant marine student was of the high in every aspect. Attitude for mariner profession of Thai merchant marine student in terms of different institutes had different in all aspects. In terms of different domiciles, it shows different attitude in affection and similar attitude in cognition and behavior. In terms of parent's occupation, it shows similar in all aspects. In terms of parent's income per month, it shows different attitude in cognition and affection and similar attitude in behavior. In terms of motivation, it shows similar in all aspects. In terms of information receiving concerning mariner profession, it shows different attitude in all aspects.

대학 창업생태계의 특성과 생산성에 관한 연구 - 특허, 창업교육, 창업동아리의 개별효과와 상호보완효과를 중심으로 - (A Study of the Characteristics and Productivity of the University Entrepreneurship Ecosystems - Discrete and complementary effects of patents, entrepreneurship education, and student entrepreneurship clubs -)

  • Given the substantial industrial and economic contributions of university start-ups, a growing number of studies have adopted the ecosystem perspectives to systematically explain creating start-ups in universities. Despite the huge theoretical potential, few studies have analyzed the complex, complimentary interactions of the core components in the university entrepreneurship ecosystems (UEEs). Addressing the limitation, this research not only discusses the role of the core ecosystem components, such as patents, entrepreneurship education, and student entrepreneurship clubs, but also analyzes their discrete and complimentary effects on the productivity of UEEs. Based on a national survey of universities, this study shows that all the core components have a positive effect on the ecosystem productivity. More importantly, this study investigated the complimentary relationships among components and tested the moderation effects of both the entrepreneurship education and the student clubs on the relationship between the patents and the productivity of UEEs. The analysis results show that the student clubs intensify the patents' positive effect on the productivity of UEEs. The research results could provide the crucial policy insights for the successful design of UEEs.

Teacher Written Feedback: Learner Preferences, Perceptions, and Teacher Reflections

  • Teacher written feedback on student compositions has received tremendous attention in second language (L2) writing research. Notwithstanding the importance of understanding both teachers' and students' perspectives on the feedback process, much of the feedback research has only looked into one-side of the story - adopting either the teacher's or the student's perspective. The current study is an attempt to look into both sides of the story by examining the types of written feedback that students prefer, the extent to which students' preferences and teachers' actual feedback practice overlap, and the extent to which student perceptions of teacher feedback coordinate teacher self-reflections on their feedback practice. Three English composition classes (3 teachers and 46 students) at a university participated in this study. It analyzed student and teacher data from questionnaires and teacher written feedback on student compositions. The results showed that students' preference for feedback on global and local issues varied across the three composition classes. This is partly a consequence of how students perceived the type of feedback that their teachers practiced. Teacher self-reflection on and student perception of teacher written-feedback generally coordinated. These findings are discussed in light of how contextual factors affect learner perception of teacher written feedback and underscore the need for examining students' reactions to feedback and teacher self-reflection.

간호대학생의 실습소진에 미치는 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Clinical Practice Burnout in Student Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore perception of the clinical learning environment, resilience and perfectionism in relation to practice burnout and to identify factors influencing practice burnout in student nurses. Methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted. The participants were 313 student nurses from three universities in B and U city. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, $Scheff{\acute{e}}s$ test and multiple regression analysis. Results: Mean score for practice burnout in student nurses was 2.92 out of 5 points. Practice burnout explained 44.7% of the variance in perfectionism (${\beta}=.245$, p<.001), satisfaction with college life (${\beta}=.232$, p<.001), resilience (${\beta}=-.228$, p<.001), clinical learning environment (${\beta}=-.193$, p<.001), satisfaction with major (${\beta}=.180$, p=.001), practical relationships with peers (${\beta}=.128$, p=.005), and satisfaction with clinical practice (${\beta}=.124$, p=.039). Conclusion: Research results suggest that the important variable for student nurses' practice burnout is perfectionism. Therefore education is needed to develop strategies to manage perfectionism and reduce practice burnout.

비행교관의 변혁적 리더십과 학생조종사의 심리적 안정감 관계에서 지도자 신뢰의 매개효과 (The Mediation Effect of Leader's Trust in the Relationship between Flight Instructor Transformation Leadership and the Student Pilot Psychological Stability)

  • This thesis researched student pilots at certified flying school to prove several things as follows. First, this study tried to find out the influence of instructor's leader trust to student pilot. Second, this study also tried to investigate the influence of student pilot's psychological stability from leader trust. Third, this study tried to prove the mediation effect of leader trust between flight instructor's transformation leadership and the student pilot psychological stability. The result of empirical research are as follows. First, the result of the verification of the relationship between transformative leadership and trust of leader showed that transformative leadership has a positive (+) influence to trust of leader. Second, the result of verification between leader trust and psychological stability relationship showed that trust of leader gives positive(+) influence to psychological stability. Third, the result of verification between transformative leadership and psychological stability showed that trust of leader gives positive(+) influence to psychological stability. I discussed implication from this study at the end and presented future research direction.
