A Study on the Student Housing in the Regional University -Focused on the University at Hongsung Kun, Chungnam- (지방대학교의 학생주거에 관한 연구 -충남 홍성군 소재 대학교를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a practical guide for the actual conditions and the preference of student housing in a regional university. The data are collected through questionnaire surveys from the students of a regional university. 265 samples are collected, and are analyzed by using SPSS-PC. The results are as follows: 1) The actual conditions of student housing Most residents of student housing(76.3%) come from the Capital region. Most of student housing are located at 30 minute distance from the school. Most of house style are Offistel as one room style. Most of housing size are within 10 minute distance from the school. Most of house style are Offistel as one room style. Most of housing size are within 10py, and two people reside in one unit. The average hours of staying at the student housing are over 10 hours. The most inconvenient factor is the lack of soundproofing in the current student housing. 2) The preference of student housing The most preferred location is in the walking distance from the school, and the apartment is the most preferred housing style. The most preferred installation of inside is internet connection. When choosing student housing, students prefer the distance from the school as the most important factor. Most female students reside with a roommate within 10 py of housing size, cook for themselves, and consider rent and maintenance fee as the decision factors in choosing housing. The most preferred style of house is apartment, and they prefer to install basic furniture and kitchen system inside of housing. As students go up to higher grade, they prefer the apartment, and prefer to cook for themselves. More fresh men reside with a roommate compared to other grades. They prefer Offistel with meals service at a walking distance from the school.

Use of REITs for Developing Student Housing (대학생 기숙사 확충을 위한 REITs의 활용 방안)

  • This paper aims at analyzing the use of REITs for developing student housing. To do this, firstly, the case studies of student housing REITs in U.S. are analyzed, and secondly, possibility and schemes of using REITs in Korea for the expansion of student housing. REITs are actively participated in the investment and management of student housing in U.S. and they are vertically integrated real estate investment operating companies which play a role of design-development-investment-managementconsulting. Student housing REITs can be fully used in Korea. To do this, special strategy integrating investment and management strategy should be examined. In these context, joint-venture model and PPP-conbined model are suggested to use REITs effectively.

  • The purpose of this study was suggested to establish of student housing by using shipping container. The research method are a study of shipping container and characteristics of student housing by using shipping container, compared typically student housing with student housing by using shipping container. Also there are planning though a case study of various planes and survey based on the student housing city in Amsterdam, Netherland, is called Keetwonen. It is a planning for housing unit to actual build at the part of land to devise master plan The 40FT(High Cube) Shipping Container housing unit are double occupancy room with toilet and balcony. The common areas are the kitchen, laundry facilities, conference room and lounge are available on the first floor with a lightweight steel frame construction method applied for obtain substantive utilization of the space. Considering into the type and scale of site shall be planning in the form of side corridor and central corridor, which is preferable to separate the interior space into two areas by a central corridor to secure personal privacy. Also, planning such as a separate exterior panel, color and landscape design to improve the external image of the container and block the solar radiation heat influx with a pitched roof. Allow 24 college students shall live at the site of Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu in Seoul, Korea (site area $330.9m^2$), including common facilities and a lounge with a building that has three stories above ground were established to build plans to target the actual land.

A Study on the Patterns of Space Use and Housing Preferences to be used in the Housing Plan for Student - With Special Reference to Students in a University in Andong, Kyoungbuk - (학생용 주거계획을 위한 자취생들의 주생활특성과 주거선호에 관한 연구 -경북 안동시 소재 대학교를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze patterns of space use and housing preferences to be used in the housing plan for students. Data was collected through questionnaire surveys from local university students living apart from their family. We collected 272 samples and analyzed them using SPSSwin program. The results are as follows; 1) The average hours of staying at the housing for student are 5 hours and 30 minutes(except sleeping time). Most of the time was used for ‘hobby’ and ‘study\ulcorner computer works’. The most of the students had ‘a meal per day’ at their housing. 2) The most preferred housing type by the students is ‘studio apartment’ and the next preferred is ‘apartment’. The highly demanded facility is ‘laundry’ and the next comes ‘kitchen’. 3) Those who spend more time in their housing than average show higher demand in ‘kitchen’ and ‘balcony’. Those who spend less time in their housing show higher demand in ‘storage’.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a practical guide for planning the private and shared space of student housing for one person household by analyzing their satisfaction and preference. The data was collected through a questionnaire-survey from the students of the university in the city of Cheongju, Chungbuk. 191 samples were collected and analyzed by using SPSS-PC. The results are as follows: (1) this survey showed that most students are dissatisfied with private and shared spaces to narrow size, an unpleasant indoor environment, and incomplete facilities. (2) The most preferred housing type is an officetel in one room style because of its convenience. The majority of students preferred a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining room in personal preferential order with a wide room, well-ventilated environment, and reasonable space zoning for planning the private space. Broad personal spaces with shared spaces such as a study room, cafeteria and health zone are in demand for unit planning. Therefore, to provide privacy for personal living and to develop community spirit, there needs to be a movement to better for community living by arranging optional shared spaces.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the housing values of the university student. The data is collected through the self-entry questionnaire that designed for this study. The 512 data obtained were analysed by Frequencies. Mean, Factor analysis, t-test, oneway ANOVA, $\chi$$^2$-test. Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The major findings are as follows: 1) The Housing Value was classified of 5 factors which Location-Environment. Social - Psychology, Physical factor of Housing, Life-Conciousness and Investmental of Value. 2) Their relevance variables of Housing value were sex, the educational course and occupation of their father and income. 3) Their preference trend of Housing appeared to the apartment and One-room system, and green tract of the space etc.

  • UNL housing fair started 14 years ago and is hosted by the Daily Nebraskan. An annual event, the housing fair is expected to draw anywhere between 500 and 1,000 UNL students according to Daily nebraskan. It's manager coordinates with sponsors to determine each company's ad campaign for the every semester. Sponsors generally find the housing fair an effective tool because it brings them face-to-face with students especially inclined to seek out new living options. So this study is to analyse UNL housing fair to provide students potions. Students can learn about places to live off-campus by attending UNL housing fair. When housing fair is opened by Daily Nebraskan, the place is abuzz with students investigating off-campus living options. In addition, property management companies also are available to inform students of their policies and practices. Also this study is to analyse the housing life of UNL off-campus students. Therefore this study has been focused on the surrounding residential areas, their apartment sites and their apartments for UNL students.

A Study on the Meaning and Choice Factors of Housing by University Student (대학생의 주거의미 및 주거선택시 고려요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the study was to find out the meaning of housing and choice factors of housing of the university students. The snowballing method was used to collect the data for analysis. The data were collected from April 4th to 14, 2013, and the sample consisted of 122 university students and 40 pairs of university students and their parents in Seoul. It was examined the meaning of housing and choice factors by university students. The finding of this study was as follows: 1) The meaning of housing was composed of 9types : 'Family harmony space', 'Emotional space', 'Social status space', 'Life space', 'Social relations space', 'Economic space', 'Perform the role space', 'Physical safety space' and 'Privacy space'. 2) The choice factors of housing were composed of 7types : 'Social status', 'Life with Neighborhood', 'Safety and security', 'Transportation and education', 'Ease of use of facilities', 'Economic' and 'Environment'.

Unit Planning of Single Undergraduate Student's Rental Housing Corresponding to their Life Pattern and Housing Needs (대학생 1인 가구의 생활패턴 및 주거요구에 따른 대학생 전용 임대주택 평면계획방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest unit design considerations for college student's rental houses. To achieve this purpose, life pattern, residential space usage and housing needs were investigated. Data were collected by in-person interviews. Interview participants were 37 single undergraduate students living near the Shinchon station subway line 2. Subjects were selected by housing types-a Gosiwon, a boarding house or an one-room house-. Qualitative approaching method was used, and quantitative analysis was additionally employed to count keyword found during the interviews. SPSS window version 14.0 was used for the descriptive statistics and the analysis of the items with multi-response analysis. The major findings are as follows; a personal space for each resident with a common kitchen and a bathroom was mostly desired for the unit. Therefore, Two diagrams would be used as examples to explain the new concept of unit planning.
