루브릭 제시 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호학생의 학업성취도에 미치는 효과 (The Proposed Rubrics Simulation Education Effect on Nursing Student's Academic Achievement)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a rubric for simulation education and to evaluate this rubric's effect on academic achievement of nursing students. Methods: The rubric was developed through nursing expert's and student's negotiation. Content validity was verified. The participants were 144 undergraduate nursing students recruited from the one university in G city. The participants were given the simulation education for 15 weeks from July, 2011 through December, 2012.[LAB1] The rubric was presented to the experimental group before the course began but was not presented to the control group. The data were analyzed by t-test, $x^2$-test with SPSS win 17.0 program. Results: The simulation education rubric was to improve academic achievement. Looking at the results it significantly improved nursing competence and knowledge. Conclusion: The rubric had a positive effect on academic achievement. A rubric with a high reliability and validity in a number of areas needs to be developed, and there is a need to develop a standardized rubric for simulation education.

대학입학전형 관련 요인에 따른 간호학과 1학년의 학업성취 분석 : 일 대학 간호학과를 대상으로 (Nursing Student Academic Achievement depending on College Entrance System-related Factors)

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the influence of college entrance system-related factors and scores of college scholastic ability test on a first year nursing student's academic achievement. Method: Data collected include both a descriptive survey designed to assess college entrance system-related factors with respect to 182 nursing students attending a 4-year nursing college program and their test scores in the first year. The data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test with Bonferroni's correction, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient through an SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Student academic achievement with regard to college entrance system-related factors exhibited significant divergence from first year grade point averages (hereafter GPA) and natural science grades. Conclusion: This study confirmed the existence of significant differences, depending on the factors regarding the college entrance system. As a result, conducting assessment to evaluate the level of basic knowledge before college entrance is highly recommended. Also recommended is the development of a support program for students projected to have difficulties with respect to their academic achievement.

  • 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 교과에 학습자 중심 루브릭을 적용한 수행평가가 학업성취도와 학습동기에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 루브릭과 관련된 선행연구 자료들을 수집 분석하여 학습자 중심 루브릭을 적용 한 수행평가의 절차를 도출하였으며, 그 절차에 따라 수행과제와 과제에 알맞은 학습자중심 루브릭을 개발하여 수행평가를 실시하였다. 연구결과 학습자 중심 루브릭은 협상하는 과정에서 루브릭과 수행과제의 이해를 향상시킴으로써 학습동기와 학업성취도 향상에 있어서 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

2006년 국가수준 학업성취도 평가에서 과학 성취도와 학생 관련 배경변인의 관계 (Relationship between Science Achievement and Student-related Variable in National Assessment of Educational Achievement in 2006)

  • 이 연구는 초등학교 6학년, 중학교 3학년, 고등학교 1학년 학생들 중에서 3%를 표집하여 2006년에 시행된 국가수준 학업성취도 평가에서 학생들의 과학과 성취도와 학생 관련 배경변인과의 관계를 조사하였다. 그 결과 부모와의 대화 정도가 많을수록, 방과 후 스스로 공부하는 시간이 많을수록, 책을 많이 읽을수록, 자기조절 학습정도, 학교 생활 적응 정도, 과학 수업 충실도, 과학 수업 이해 정도, 과학 교과에 대한 태도가 높을수록 과학 성취도가 높게 나타나는 경향이 있었다. 학생의 과학 성취도에 영향을 주는 배경변인을 묻는 설문 결과에서 현재 학교 현장에서 주도하는 교육 풍토가 입시 위주임을 알 수 있었으나, 학생 관련 배경 변인에 대한 전반적인 결과에서 학생들의 과학 성취도 향상을 위해 단지 공부만을 강조하는 외적 동기 위주의 자극보다는 흥미나 과학에 대한 태도, 학습 방법, 인간관계 등 내적인 동기를 자극하는 접근이 더 중요함을 알 수 있었다.

Teacher's Perception for Korean's Achievement Standards-Based Testing System and Evaluation Method of Learners' Academic Ability

  • The purpose of this research is to evaluate teachers' perception of Korean's achievement standard-based testing system (ASTS) and its process of implementation, and to propose a method of evaluating students' academic aptitude based on university entrance examinations. The core of the 2015 Revised National Curriculum is asserted by changes in classroom instruction, specifically encouraging students' participation in class based on a new method to evaluate student achievement. A total of 124 teachers in charge of student career counseling in middle and high schools in the Jeonbuk province participated in the study. The schools implementing the new method of ASTS were using 61.6% for unit school cut-off point, as opposed to the existing fixed cut-off point of 38.4%. The teachers understanding of the achievement evaluation method was rated 3.54 on the 5-point Likert scale, implying that they had a relatively good understanding of the method. Some of the challenges associated with reflecting the scores from the new student ASTS include difficulty of comparing scores across schools; grade inflation; advantages and disadvantages associated with the type of high school; and the increased importance of university entrance examination. In the ASTS, the fairness during the evaluation of the high school grades and the consequently the reliability of the evaluation prove worrying. As an ultimate result, selecting students based on university admissions data became untrustworthy. There should be further discussions on how students' achievement obtained from the new ASTS should be applied during the university admission process and how students' academic aptitude can be assessed in order to set a direction for secondary school education.

공학교육에서의 팀성취분담 협동학습 모형(STAD)의 적용과 효과 (The Study on the Effects of Applying Cooperative Learning Model, Student Teams-Achievement Division to Engineering Education)

  • Problem solving by homework assignment is a process of practicing what were discussed in classrooms and thus is considered as an essential part of learning procedure in engineering education. We introduced the concept of cooperative learning, Student Teams-Achievement Division(STAD), to improve the students' learning efficiency by in-class problem solving. The instructor explained fundamental concepts, and lecture materials were handed out to compensate for the time of in-class team activity. Brief tests were given after every chapter, and team-based additional credits were given for the improvement comparing the average of previous tests of each student. This attempt of modified STAD was evaluated to have brought about a significant improvement in students' academic achievement, in addition to activating classroom atmosphere.

학습자 배경변인과 국가수준 영어 학업성취도 (Students' variables and educational achievement in English)

  • This study explores issues on how students' variables are related to their educational achievement in English subject. The National Assessment of Educational Achievement (NAEA) is conduced every year to measure educational progress and achievement, and to monitor the quality of education at the national level and appropriateness of the national curriculum. It also serves the purpose to collect background information affecting educational achievement. The background information is gathered by using questionnaires for students, teachers and school administrators. Among the student variables in the national level educational achievement assessment is self-regulated learning, which is composed of self-efficacy, self-control and learning strategy. In the NAEA in 2005 it was found that the features of self-regulated learning were significantly correlated to test scores in English. The findings from the analysis of the trends of the relationships between test scores in English and information on students' self-regulated learning provide implications for the national curriculum as well as for learning and teaching.

마인드 맵 활용전략 과학수업이 과학탐구능력 및 과학 학업성취도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Science Lessons using Mind Mapping on Science Process Skill and Science Academic Achievement)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of science lessons using mind mapping on creativity and academic achievement in science. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade students selected from four classes of an elementary school located in Busan. For ten weeks, the experimental group of 40 students were taught using the mind mapping technique. The comparative group, also of 40 students, was taught in normal classes which used a standard text-book. Children were given a test on science processing skills and academic achievement in science to measure the effects of mind mapping. The Likert scales were used to gather student's feedback on creativity and academic achievement in science. Through these procedures, the following results were obtained: First, mind mapping had a greater effect on science processing skills than the normal classes, where a text-book was used. Second, mind mapping was effective in improving the student's academic achievements in science at a greater level than the normal classes where a text-book was used. Third, after viewing results of the Student Recognition Investigation, we found that the students showed a higher level of interest in science lessons that used mind mapping, and were better able to understand the scientific theories. As a result, the elementary science class with mind mapping developed greater science processing skills and saw higher academic achievement in science. We conclude that science classes that use mind mapping have the potential to develop better science processing skills and improve academic achievement in science.

교육평등을 위한 수학 교수법: 저소득층 학생의 수학성취도에 대한 다양성 수용 수업의 효과와 교사-학생 관계의 매개효과 분석 (Teaching mathematics for equity: An analysis of the effect of diversity-inclusive instruction and the mediating effect of teacher-student relationship on the mathematics achievement of Korean students with a low economic status)

  • 팬데믹 이후 '평등'이 사회적 화두로 다시금 제기되면서 교육평등에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 교육평등 실행 방안의 탐색을 위해 PISA2012 자료를 활용하여 다양성 수용수업이 저소득층 학생들의 수학성취도에 주는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 다양성 수용 수업은 저소득층 학생들의 수학성취도와 정적 상관관계를 가지며 다양성 수용 수업이 교사-학생 관계를 매개로 하여 저소득층 학생의 수학성취도에 긍정적인 영향을 준다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 논문의 분석 결과는 학생의 다양성을 수용하고 교사가 학생과 지속적 돌봄의 관계를 형성하며 학생의 잠재력을 개발하는 교수법이 저소득층 학생의 교육적 취약성을 보완하여 수학성취도를 높일 수 있음을 실증적으로 보여주었다는 점에서 중요성을 찾을 수 있다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 하여 다양성 수용 수업의 효과에 대한 실증적 검증을 다양한 취약 집단 학생의 수학성취도 분석으로 확장함으로써 다양성 수용 수업이 교육 평등 실행 방안으로서 갖는 효과성을 실증적으로 검증하기 위한 후속연구의 필요성을 제안하며 교육평등 실행을 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.

Determinants of Success of University Students in Vietnam: An Empirical Study

  • This paper investigates the determinants of students' success in Vietnam through conducting online interviews and surveys with 2,500 Vietnamese students at eight famous universities in Vietnam. By applying both SPSS 22 and STATA software, the study is to evaluate the impact of four driver factors, which affect GPA, language efficacy, and personal achievement. These factors are psychological perspective, home environmental, student demographic, and school environmental. The research results emphasize a positive effect of psychological and home-environmental determinants, but the negative effect of school environmental factors on the students' success. Besides, the relationship between demographics and student success was tested and indicated that male students have a better language learning ability, but a low level of academic achievement than female students. The results also point out the impact of religious affiliation and ethnicity on personal achievement. Non-religious students are better achievers than those having a religion or those in minority ethnicity. Moreover, accumulated schooling years are negatively associated with students' success. The more working experience students accrued, the higher possibility they are successful. Finally, the finding provides an insight into students' success that might be useful to government authorities and other universities in designing policies for enhancing the quality of education.
