In order to determine the factors related to site quality, 13 areas of Larch growing in the Kwangung and its vicinity forest as sample plots, were examined. Sample plots included various site classes as well as age classes. Three were divided into two groups (major and minor trees). Average height of dominant trees was determined through messurement of 5 to 6 dominant tree in each sample plots. Average height of dominant 30 year-old trees was the basis for site index. A Standard Yield Table for the larch produced in Kwangnung forest was made by various data, which included age class 5, ranging from 10 to 45 years. The relationship of the height of the trees, the site conditions, and ground vegetation are investigated in this paper. The site indexes of 40 forest class age in 28-B and 28-G forest classes of the larch associations for ground vegetation had comparatively rarge differences due to the sampled areas. The relation of the direction of forest communities to the height and the diameter of the tree shwoed that its communiteis of northest and northwest parts appeared higher valueof the height and the diameter. The diameter and the height of trees were closely realted to each other. The samller the occupied area per tree and the smaller the average distance among trees, the more density was increased. The larger the density was the lower height of the trees. In the ground vegetation of the larch communities, there seems to be a definite correlation between the height of trees and the occupied area per tree or the average distance among the trees. The height of trees and site index of two larch communities were as follow: 28-B forest class site index 20.8, height 24.0m, 28-G forest class site index 18.4, height 20.9m. The ground layer was analyzed by the method of Quadrat(20/20sq. cm) with an interval of 1M. It set up 40 Quadrats of the larch communiteis. The community structure of the ground vegetation of two larch was analyzed, and important value was calculated and then evaluated. The ground vegetation under the larch had developed Burmannii Beauv stratal society below the 28-B and 28-G the forest class. Accordingly, the first important value of Burmannii Beauv was found in two ground vegetation below the larch. Therefore, this species could be quantitatively considered as the forest indicator species. Common species of each community appeared 18 species out of 34 species in the ground vegetation under two larch communities. The ground vegetation of the 28-B forest class showed more than that of the 28-G forest class. the similarity of the ground vegetation was measrued by the Frequency Index Community Coefficient. The differences between the associations were lcearly manifested by the ground vegetation tested by Gleason's Frequency Index of Community Coefficient for the analysis of each stratal society of all associations. According to F.I.C.C. the ground vegetation under two larch(28-B and 28-G) forest classes showed higher value. An investigation into the relationship of physical and chemical properties of soil and site was considered the next step to be taken in the study of the larch site classification.
We examined soil properties and provenance of loess-paleosol sequences at the Daebo Granite area of Buan, Jeonbuk Province, South Korea. The section consists of the surface layer, Layer 1(paleosol), Layer 2(loess), Layer 3(paleosol), Layer 4(loess), and Layer 5(paleosol), from top to bottom and thickness of the exposed section is approximately 280cm. The magnetic susceptibility values show the distinct variations between the loess- and the paleosol layer. Even though pH, ORP, water content, and soil hardness do not display the obvious differences in the section, the organic content indicates the variation similar to those of the magnetic susceptibility. In the respect of the soil colors measured under 3 conditions, although the variations of the wet soil color exceedingly reflect the difference of the layers, these variations are obscure in some points in the section due to the characteristics of the Munsell color system. Based on the geomorphological properties, sedimentary structure, the difference of the major element composition and the condrite-normalized rare earth element(REE) patterns showing the clear difference from the adjacent bedrocks and stream sediments and the similarity to those of the Chinese Loess Plateau, it is suggested that the section was formed by the material originated from the Chinese Loess Plateau and peripheral areas. However, because the material experienced the alteration after sedimentation under the environment of the sediment area, it has the properties different from the material in the provenance areas. This phenomenon may result in the climatic condition of Korea, especially in precipitation.
Nowadays, the importance of the information management of construction sites to achieve the goal of safety construction. This management uses the collaborated analysis of in-situ monitoring data and numerical analysis, especially of an earth retaining structures of excavation sites. In this paper, the fractal theory was applied to actually monitored data from various excavation sites to develop the alternative interpolation technique which could predict the displacement behavior of unknown location around the monitoring locations and the future behavior of the monitoring locations with the steps of excavation. Data, mainly from inclinometer, were collected from various sites where retaining structures were collapsed during construction period, as well as from normal sites with the characteristics of geology, excavation method etc. In the analyses, Hurst exponent (H) was estimated with monitored periods using the Rescaled range analysis (R/S analysis) method applying the H in simulation processes. As the results of the analyses, Hurst exponents were ranged from 0.7 to 0.9 and showed the positive correlation of H > 1/2. The simulation processes, then, with the Hurst exponent estimated by Rescaled range analysis method showed reliable results. In addition, it was also expected that the variation of Hurst exponents with the monitoring period could instruct the abnormal behavior of an earth retaining structures to directors or operators. Therefore it was concluded that fractal theory could be applied for predicting the lateral displacement of unknown location and the future behavior of an earth retaining structures to manage the safety of construction sites during excavation period.
Stable isotope, paleoceanographic and sedimentological analyses were carried out along the core Ml5612 from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Distinct negative ${\delta}^{18}O anomalies punctuate the planktonic isotope records and correlate with the Heinrich-IRD cvents. The IRD layer in the corc contains varying amounts of quartz, K-feldspar, plagioclase, calcite, dolomite and mica, in which detrital carbonate contributes between I and 13% (except H3 and H6). Anomalies are strongest in the N. pachydenna (sin.) isotope record. Systematic changes in the ${\delta}^{18}O offset of G. hul/aides and G. inJlata signify variations in mid-latitude thermocline structure. In conjunction with negative benthic ${\delta}^{13}C anomalies, the data document a stronger contribution of a ${\delta}^{13}C depleted, nutrient-rich water mass during the IRD events. The ${\delta}^{13}C amplitude of > 1 $\textperthousand$ between 25 and 57 ka indicates changes between northern source (NADW) and southern source (AABW) water masses at this site. The IRD layers in the core Ml56l2 are correlative with those from the core S075-26KL and DSDP 609. The IRD layers from the Portuguese margin arc coeval with HI, H2 and H4 of the open North Atlantic. This similarity (and/or synchronicity in both regions may have been resulted from common changes in a North Atlantic thermohaline switch.
Protein B23 is one of the major nucleolar phosphoproteins associated with pre-ribosomal particles, and is localized in the granular region of the nucleolus. Recent studies suggest that protein B23 shuttles between nucleus and cytoplasm and also interacts with HIV Rev. These findings indicate that protein B23 is important in nucleocytoplasmic relationship and viral replication. However, the exact function of protein B23 is not clear yet. In acute nucleolar hypertrophy of rat liver, treated with thioacetamide, there was observed an increase of not only protein B23 but also B23-like protein p45 when anti-B23 monoclonal antibody (MAb) was used for identification. On the basis of the large B23 specific epitope structure composed of 68 amino acids, a hypothesis was formulated to examine that p45 is the pre-B23 resulting from excessive production of B23. In an attempt to investigate the precursor of B23, we analyzed the subcellular fractions and microsomal subfractions. Subsequently, we analyzed the finger printings of B23-like proteins using the tryptic peptide mapping. The results are summarized: 1) Using B23 MAb, we observed the presence of B23-like proteins in nucleolar fraction, nucleoplasmic fraction and microsomal fraction. 2) In the further microsomal subfractionation, we could partially purify B23-like protein in 2M layer of sucrose gradient. 3) When ion exchange chromatography was employed, there were protein species 80kDa(p80), 65kDa(p65) and 60kDa(p60). 4) Based on the tryptic map analysis of $^{125}I$ labeled proteins, the similarity between B23 and p80 was found only in 9 out of 14(B23) and 21(p80) peptides, and difference was found in the remaining peptides. p80 and p60 had 18 common peptides, and all the peptides of p60 were similar to those of p80. From these results, it is proposed that p45 is an abnormal metabolite resulting from carcinogenesis by thioacetamide, and it is not the precursor of B23. In addition, we suggest that p80 may be a precursor of p45.

In this paper, we present an effective method for comparing control flow graphs which represent static structures of binary programs. To compare control flow graphs, we measure similarities by comparing instructions and syntactic information contained in basic blocks. In addition, we also consider similarities of edges, which represent control flows between basic blocks, by edge extension. Based on the comparison results of basic blocks and edges, we match most similar basic blocks in two control flow graphs, and then calculate the similarity between control flow graphs. We evaluate the proposed edge extension method in real world Java programs with respect to structural similarities of their control flow graphs. To compare the performance of the proposed method, we also performed experiments with a previous structural comparison for control flow graphs. From the experimental results, the proposed method is evaluated to have enough distinction ability between control flow graphs which have different structural characteristics. Although the method takes more time than previous method, it is evaluated to be more resilient than previous method in comparing control flow graphs which have similar structural characteristics. Control flow graph can be effectively used in program analysis and understanding, and the proposed method is expected to be applied to various areas, such as code optimization, detection of similar code, and detection of code plagiarism.
To screen downstream genes of Aspergillus nidulans MsnA showing amino acid sequence similarity to the zinc finger region of Msn2/4 stress response transcription factors in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, differentially expressed genes (DEG) in MsnA overexpressed or msnA null mutant strains compared to wild type have been isolated. The cognate gene IDs were identified by DNA sequencing of the selected DEGs. Among those, DEG6 was known as mstB encoding a putative monosaccharide transporter. Expression level of mstB mRNA was increased in MsnA overproducing strains and MsnA bound directly to the promoter region of mstB in vitro. MstB containing twelve transmembrane domains exhibited 80% of amino acid sequence identities to A. niger MstA a high-affinity monosaccharide transporter. A null mutant of mstB was phenotypically undistinguishable to wild type. On the other hand, forced overexpression of MstB caused the increased formation of sexual structure cleistothecia in 0.1% glucose condition where wild type showed almost no cleistothecia. This result implies that mstB is involved in transport of monosaccharide required for sexual differentiation.
Genetic diversity and population genetic structure within or among three stream populations (Gab, Baekgok and Ji streams) of Korean endangered natural monument fish, Iksookimia choii, were assessed by amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP). AFLP analysis using three primer combinations generated 104 to 106 AFLP bands, and percent polymorphic bands were similar in those three populations ranging 21.5 to 24.5%. Heterozygosity and genetic diversity within or among populations were quite low for all of these populations with average values ranging from 0.067 to 0.084 and from 0.076 to 0.087, respectively. Analyses of pairwise distance and genetic similarity among three populations of I. choii also revealed the similar results with very low genetic differentiation one another. Although pairwise Fst values were very low, our data clearly indicated distinct genetic differentiation among the three populations. This is the first report concerning the genetic diversity and differentiation of this species, and provides basic genetic information that should facilitate attempts to conserve this species.

This study was conducted to identify trends and knowledge structures associated with recent trends in Korean tourism from 2010 to 2015 using keyword data. To accomplish this, we constructed a network using keywords extracted from KCI journals. We then made a matrix describing the relationships between rows as papers and columns as keywords. A keyword network showed the connectivity of papers that have included one or more of the same keywords. Major keywords were then extracted using the cosine similarity between co-occurring keywords and components were analyzed to understand research trends and knowledge structure. The results revealed that subjects of tourism research have changed rapidly and variously. A few topics related to 'organization-employee' were major trends for several years, but intrinsic and extrinsic factors have been further subdivided and employees of specific fields have been targeted as subjects of research. Component analysis is useful for analyzing concrete research topics and the relationships between them. The results of this study will be useful for researchers attempting to identify new topics.

This study is a methodological research study that tests the validity and reliability of the NCRC (Nurse Clinical Reasoning Competence scale), an instrument developed by Liou and his colleagues as the basic data for enhancing the clinical reasoning competence of nurses, by translating it into Korean and checking the similarity of the sentence structure and meaning (between the two versions?). This study verified its validity and reliability by examining 166 nurses working in four tertiary hospitals located in Seoul and Busan. An analysis of the content validity by experts showed that all of the items have a content validity higher than CVI 0.8. From the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the instrument includes a total of 15 items consisting of one factor. In addition, the correlation with the Korean version of the Nurse Clinical Reasoning Competence scale is confirmed to test the concurrent validity, by using a measurement tool of nurses' critical thinking dispositions and clinical decision-making abilities (correlation coefficient =.55-.64(p<.001) and Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.93$). Thus, the Korean version of the NCRC may be a useful instrument for evaluating the clinical reasoning competence of Korean nurses and providing the basic data for assessing their clinical reasoning competence and developing their promotion strategies.
