In correctional facilities with majority of occupants in custody, the safe evacuation guide without getaway accidents should be very important due to complexity in escape paths. Fire causes are various in correctional facilities, for example, arson fire is a major cause in mental treatment facilities, however, old facilities or carelessness of flammable materials consist of fire causes in jail facilities. Both types of correctional facilities are the same in terms of many casualties from the fire cases. The thesis focus on escape paths and evacuation guide plans on the basis of analysis on fire cases and structural vulnerability, and then an electronic unlocking system is concededly installed for safe evacuation of occupants in custody without getaway accidents. Especially, the effect of the electronic unlocking system is going to be analyzed on the basis of RSET (required safe egress time) in order to realize for the occupants to evacuate safely to the front yard in case of emergency. In conclusion, if electronic security allowed system with USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Networks) technology should be installed in multi-storey correctional buildings, it is proposed that the occupants in custody might be a guided safely without getaway trials.

This research is a descriptive study that aimed to identify the health knowledge and optimistic bias related to stroke of middle-aged adults and the effect these had on their health-promoting lifestyle. The research was conducted from July 15 to August 15, 2015. The research subjects were 191 adults aged between 40 to 60 years. A structured questionnaire was used and self-administered for data collection. The PASW Statistics 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs were used for data analysis, and analysis of variance, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis were conducted. It was found that the middle-aged adults recognized smoking and hypertension as higher risk factors for stroke than diabetes, and there was a slight optimistic bias for stroke. Health knowledge about stroke had correlations with optimistic bias (r = -.143, p = .048) and health-promoting lifestyle (r = .268, p = < .001), while optimistic bias had correlations with interpersonal relationships and stress (r = .177, p = .014) in health-promoting lifestyle. In addition, health-promoting lifestyle affected health knowledge more than optimistic bias. In conclusion, it was found that the active information acquisition, health knowledge, and optimistic bias of middle-aged adults toward stroke were important factors pertaining to a stroke-related health-promoting lifestyle. Therefore, an education program to improve the health-promoting lifestyle related to stroke in middle-aged adults should be considered as a way to enhance stroke-related health knowledge and reduce optimistic bias.
Purpose - In recent years, management scholars have expressed growing interest in the concept of person-Job fit because of having many benefits for employees' attitudes and behaviors. The related research is needed to determine what specific types of fit are related to each other, and to get important individual outcomes. Person-job fit of employees in service organization plays an important role in company as well as person in service industry. Person-job fit, representing the consistency between person (service provider) and job (service provided to the customers), gives significant and positive effects on the attitude and behavior of service provider. On the basis of the study background, the purpose of this study is as follows. First, we would like to examine the effects of person-job fit of service provider on their emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is divided into four sub-factors such as self-understanding, understanding others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Second, we would like to identify the relationships between job satisfaction and sub-factors such as self-understanding, understanding others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Research design, data, and methodology - We performed structural equation model using Spss 18.0 and Amos 20.0 in order to verify the hypotheses. Subjects were golf service assistants who were high-touching service with high degree in interaction and long contact time with customers. 178 out of the total 200 surveys were used in evaluation from helpers of golf service working as full-time service provider after selecting two locations of golf course located near Busan. From the evaluation of reliability and validity with variables used in this research, they satisfied and confirmed certain standard. Results - The results are as follows. First, as the results of identifying the relationships between person-job fit and emotional intelligence of service provider, person-job fit did not have positive and significant effect on self-understanding. On the other hand, it affected positively and significantly other factors in emotional intelligence such as emotion to others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Second, as the results of identifying the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction, sub-factors in emotional intelligence such as emotion to others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation except self-emotion affected significantly and positively job satisfaction. However, self-emotion did not have significant and positive effects on job satisfaction. Conclusion - These results will be valuable and used for service providers. In addition, many service providers will recognize that person-job fit is very important to get a job. This research has a purpose on the assumption that appropriateness between individual and task in service industry shall act as major influence in emotional intelligence of service provider. Recognitive ability of service provider is also very important per characteristics of service, but emotional intelligence that interacts and connected directly with most customers can be a very meaningful factor as well. Emotional intelligence allows people to recognize, understand, and empathize the emotion of customers shall be a positive reinforcement for customers to evaluate the service ultimately.
'Entrepreneurship' which means spirit or activity seeking new value by challenging boldly the uncertainty is one of the most important concept in 21st century business environment. Franchise Industry taking a relationship with distribution industry also needs entrepreneurship. As franchise industry consists of small and medium enterprises, the entrepreneurship of franchisor's CEO is important for the franchisor's growth. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing on the entrepreneurship of franchisor's CEO, and the effect of the CEO's entrepreneurship on franchisor's performance. For this purpose, this study set CEO's psychological characteristics, market characteristics, and social-institutional characteristics as independent variables, CEO's entrepreneurship as parameter variables, and franchisor's performance as dependent variables. And to analyze this study model, this study collected questionnaires from 152 franchisors' CEOs, and uses SEM(Structural Equation Modeling). As the result, 'CEO's Entrepreneurship' influenced on both 'Franchisor's Financial Performance' and 'Franchisor's Non Financial Performance'. The results of this study provide some guides for franchisor's CEO and government policies.
Low Impact Development (LID) techniques are eco-friendly storm water management process for water circulation restoration and non-point pollutant reduction. In this study, four LID techniques (Small constructed wetland, Infiltration trench box, Infiltration trench, Vegetated swale) were selected and installed as a real size at the real site. All facilities were evaluated as monitoring under the real environmental climate situation and an artificial rain with exceeding design rainfall. In various rainfall, runoff reduction efficiency and non-point pollutant removal efficiency are increased to the bigger Surface Area of LID (SA)/Catchment Area (CA) ratio and the bigger Storage Volume of LID (SV)/Catchment Area (CA) ratio. Runoff did not occur at all rainfall event (max. 17.2 mm) in infiltration trench and vegetated swale. But Small constructed wetland was more efficient at less than 10 mm, a efficiency of infiltration trench box was similar at different rainfall. Although different conditions (such as structural material of LID, rainfall flow rate, antecedent dry periods), LID techniques are good effects not only water circulation improvement but also water quality improvement.
In order to use Pitch pine (Pinus rigida Miller) as the material of the structural glued laminated timber, the effect of the amount of resin exudation due to storage time after the planning and the knot of the lamina were evaluated on the bonding properties of the glued board with resorcinol resin. For Pitch pine that was dried at high temperature ($120{\sim}95^{\circ}C$) and low temperature ($65{\sim}50^{\circ}C$), the flat sawn(tangential section) showed higher amount of resin exudation than the quarter sawn(radial section). And the low temperature drying wood showed higher resin exudation than the high temperature drying wood. The low and high temperature drying wood showed the highest amount of resin exudation on the 3rd day and 7th day, respectively and they were gradually decreased. However, there were no significant differences from 15 to 90 days. Adhesion performances were low until 2~3 days with high exudation of resin, but there were no significant differences after 15 days. Both high temperature and low temperature drying woods satisfied the Korean standard regardless of the storage time. The adhesive strengths of the laminating parts including knots were higher than those of KS criteria, but the wood failures were not satisfied the KS standard. Adhesive performances according to the laminating combinations (quarter sawn + quarter sawn, flat sawn + flat sawn, quarter sawn + flat sawn) were better than those of KS criteria in all laminating combinations in both high temperature and low temperature drying woods.
This study examine the effects of exposure to family violence on adolescent's school violence toward peers and whether attitude toward school violence mediate in the process to provide theoretical basis for prevention and treatment for the problems of adolescent who exposed to child abuse and interparental violence. Total 1140 adolescent answered were collected from and grade in middle school students to and grade in high school students in Seoul and Kyung-gi. Frequency analysis was done to assess the actual condition of school violence, child abuse, interparental violence, attitude toward school violence. Structural equation modeling was used to examine the effects of exposure to family violence on adolescent's school violence and the mediating role of attitude toward school violence in the process. The results of this study are: (1) exposure of child abuse have strong positive influences on adolescent's school violence, (2) attitude toward school violence mediate family violence and school violence.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among child abuse, depression, and smartphone addiction by gender. Data were gathered though questionnaires surveying 1,601 adolescents living in the Seoul and Kyeonggi areas. The results of t-tests and multiple regression analyses using structural equation modeling are as follow. First, approximately 40 percent of adolescents reported having experienced child abuse in the past year. Second, 24.5 percent of adolescents were found to be at risk of smartphone addiction. Third, child abuse was associated with depression and smartphone addiction among adolescents, and depression was found to have a mediating effect on the relationship between child abuse and smartphone addiction. Lastly, gender differences were also found: for male students, child abuse was directly related to smartphone addiction; for female adolescents, depression was found to mediate the relationship between child abuse and smartphone addiction. The results suggest different intervention strategies according to gender and a necessity of intervention to prevent child depression and smartphone addiction. The implications for social work practice were also discussed.
This is a timeseries study on the riving forces behind the changes of Korean welfare state. There are a few previous studies on the determinants of korean welfare state. These previous studies have some limitations in terms of reliability of the data source and validity of the statistical method used. Using the Comparative Social Policy Data-set(CSPD), we try to overcome the limitation of these previous studies. And adapting the time series regression, we examine the hypotheses about the changes of korean welfare state. In this study, four dependent variables are examined: the ratio of public social welfare expenditure to the GDP(WELGDP), the ratio of public social welfare expenditure to the government budget(WELGOV), the ratio of social expenditure to the GDP(SOCX), social welfare expenditure per capita. And independent variables were selected based on the theoretical background on the changes of welfare state. The results of this study as follows: First, the variables based on structural functionalism (industrialization) are the major driving forces behind the changes of korean welfare state since 1960s. Second, the effect of unemployment variable may be reasonably interpreted as reflecting the residual characteristics of korean welfare state. Third, the politics of the left based on power resource theory should be restrictedly interpreted. Ultimately, korean welfare state is still at rudimentary stage where the theory of industrialization is well applied as a driving forces behind the changes of welfare state.

Objectives: It is well-known that post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among firefighters contributes to their job-related stress. However, the relationship between burnout and PTSD in firefighters has rarely been studied. This study therefore explored the association between burnout and its related factors, such as trauma and violence, and PTSD symptoms among firefighters in Korea. Methods: A total of 535 firefighters participated in the Firefighter Research on Enhancement of Safety & Health study at 3 university hospitals from 2016 to 2017. The 535 participants received a baseline health examination, including questionnaires assessing their mental health. A Web-based survey was also conducted to collect data on job-related stress, history of exposure to violence, burnout, and trauma experience. The associations among burnout, its related factors, and PTSD symptoms were investigated using structural equation modeling. Results: Job demands (${\beta}=0.411$, p<0.001) and effort-reward balance (${\beta}=-0.290$, p<0.001) were significantly related to burnout. Burnout (${\beta}=0.237$, p<0.001) and violence (${\beta}=0.123$, p=0.014) were significantly related to PTSD risk. Trauma (${\beta}=0.131$, p=0.001) was significantly related to burnout; however, trauma was not directly associated with PTSD scores (${\beta}=0.085$, p=0.081). Conclusions: Our results show that burnout and psychological, sexual, and physical violence at the hands of clients directly affected participants' PTSD symptoms. Burnout mediated the relationship between trauma experience and PTSD.
