  • Structural equation modeling is pointing to statistical procedures that simultaneously perform path analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Today, this statistical procedure is an essential tool for researchers in the social sciences. There are as (AMOS, LISREL and PLS) representative tools that can perform structural equation modeling analysis. AMOS provides a convenient graphical user interface for beginners to use. PLS has the advantage of not having a constraint on normal distribution as well as a graphical user interface. Therefore, we compared and analyzed the three most commonly used tools in social sciences. This study suggests practical and theoretical implications based on the results.

  • Mathematical modeling has been a crucial topic in mathematics education as students' problem solving competency are regarded as a core skill for future society. Despite of the importance of mathematical modeling in school mathematics, there have been very limited studies relating pre-service teachers' knowledge and perceptions on mathematical modeling. In this vein, this study aimed to investigate pe-service mathematics teachers' perceptions on mathematical model, mathematical modeling and educational use of mathematical modeling, and their relationships. The current study utilized a survey consisted of 18 items. The responses of 210 pre-service mathematics teachers to the survey items were quantitatively analyzed using descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the structural equation model, and multi group analysis. The results of analysis of variance revealed that pre-service teachers in difference groups (majors, grades, and experiences with mathematical modeling) showed statistically significant differences in mean values. Moreover, according to the results from the structural equation modeling analysis, pre-service mathematics teachers' perceptions on mathematical model and modeling affected their perceptions on educational use of mathematical modeling. In addition, depending on their pre-experiences with mathematical modeling, pre-service teachers represented a different relationship between perceptions on mathematical modeling and educational use of mathematical modeling. Implications for future studies and mathematics classrooms were discussed.

  • The Internet can provide benefits obtained from changing the structure of a business, such as emphasizing the importance of different types of personnel. In addition, the Internet alters the process for business activity, both within and outside the organization. Using structural equation modeling, I empirically test a number of hypothesized relationship based on a sample of 126 Internet Community users. The results are as follows: loyalty is significantly influenced by trust and relationship, repeat purchase is significantly influenced bye-loyalty. In addition, word of mouth is significantly influenced by e-loyalty.

  • Meanwhile, the importance of managing factors affecting labor productivity has been recognized and emphasized. However, in the previous study, qualitative evaluation only took place for these factors. In this study, therefore, identified and quantified the priority of factors decreasing labor productivity, and established basic data.

  • This paper reports on a study investigating key attributes of service recovery strategies in internet shopping mall. In theses day, service recovery has received important attention in the service operation management literature. Service recovery involves those actions designed to resolve problems, alter negative attitudes of dissatisfied consumers and to ultimately retain these customers. The study examined that service recovery strategies (apology, compensation) impact on the customer satisfaction. And customer satisfaction impacts on customer loyalty with SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). This study can be used a strategic implication for internet shopping mall managers to develop successful service recovery strategies.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationship between radiation hazards and radiation benefits effecting on overcoming recognition of Fukushima nuclear disaster (FND) in Japan by using structural equation modeling (SEM). The subjects were 248 undergraduates from one university in Chungbuk province in Korea. From June 1, 2017 to July 30, 2017, we conducted a questionnaire survey on the radiation hazards and radiation benefits and on the overcoming recognition of FND. As a result, it showed that the recognition of radiation hazards has a significant effect on the benefits of radiation, but does not directly affect the overcoming recognition of FND. However, the recognition of radiation benefits has been mediating between radiation hazards perception and the overcoming recognition of FND. Therefore, it can be empirically confirmed that despite the radiation hazards the recognition of overcoming the FND depends on the level of radiation benefits by using the SEM.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the structural equation modeling of retention intention in nurses. Methods: A total of 210 nurses from three hospitals in B city, South Korea participated in this study. A structural equation model was constructed to verify the fitness of this model. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. Results: The hypothetical model appeared to fit the data. Three of the selected six hypotheses for the hypothetical model were statistically significant. The retention intention model showed significant direct effects for job crafting and job demands and indirect effects for relation oriented culture, which explained 28% of the variation in nurses' retention intention. Conclusion: We found that nurses' job crafting behavior and job demands had significant influences on retention intention and relation oriented culture which affected by the factors job crafting.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the cause-effect relationship between motor impairments, hand function, gross motor function and activities of daily living (ADL) in children with cerebral palsy through the analysis of structural equation modeling. For this, 105 children with cerebral palsy (between 6 and 12 years old) were assessed about muscle tone and strength, range of motion, abilities of selective motor control, hand function, gross motor function and ADL. The results of this study were follows: Firstly, there were significant correlations between motor impairments of muscle tone, muscle strength, the abilities of selective motor control and ADL (p < .05); Secondly, a good correlation between the gross motor function, hand function and ADL was found in all children (p < .05); Thirdly, the appropriateness of research model was good. This study focused on exploration of the relationship between the motor impairment, gross motor function, hand function and ADL through structural equation modeling.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore factors affecting the effect of e-learning, and to find out the casual relationship among these factors. Subjects are 2,091 students who have participated in e-learning based class during the period of second semester in 2013. Those of them, 1,732 students response to the survey questions. After gathering data, they are analyzed by using Confirmative Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. From the result of Confirmative Factor analysis, data have reduced four factors, and are named as four latent variables likes e-learning effect, contents satisfaction, managing assistant factor, and system functional factor. From the result of Structural Equation Modeling, it is known as the relation and impact among factors: (a) "managing assistant factor" affects to "contents satisfaction" directly. (b) "contents satisfaction" affects to "e-learning effect" directly. (c) "system function factor" affects directly to "contents satisfaction", but does not affect directly to "e-learning effect". (d) both "managing assistant factor" and "system function factor" have an indirect effect on "e-learning effect" via "contents satisfaction".

  • Structural equation modeling (SEM) is a widely used in social sciences such as education, business administration, and psychology. In SEM, the latent variable score is the estimate of the latent variable which cannot be observed directly. This study uses stagewise structural equation modeling(stagewise SEM; SSEM) by partitioning the whole model into several stages. The traditional estimation method minimizes the discrepancy function using the variance-covariance of all observed variables. This method can lead to inappropriate situations where exogenous latent variables may be affected by endogenous latent variables. The SSEM approach can avoid such situations and reduce the complexity of the whole SEM in estimating parameters.
