Severe complications associated with EV71 infections are a common cause of neonatal death. Lack of effective therapeutic agents for these infections underlines the importance of research for the development of new antiviral compounds. In the present study, the anti-EV71 activity of norwogonin, oroxylin A, and mosloflavone from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi was evaluated using a cytopathic effect (CPE) reduction method, which demonstrated that all three compounds possessed strong anti-EV71 activity and decreased the formation of visible CPEs. Norwogonin, oroxylin A, and mosloflavone also inhibited virus replication during the initial stage of virus infection, and they inhibited viral VP2 protein expression, thereby inhibiting viral capsid protein synthesis. However, ribavirin has a relatively weaker efficacy compared to the other drugs. Therefore, these findings provide important information that will aid in the utilization of norwogonin, oroxylin A, and mosloflavone for EV71 treatment.

This study was designed to investigate the nervous sedative effects of green tea. The sedative effect was evaluated by examination of Monoamine oxidases (MAOs) inhibitory activity in vitro in the brain and liver of rat fed on green tea cultivated and harvested from the different regions and periods. It showed that methanol extracts of green tea inhibited significantly the brain MAO-A activity. Especially late harvested green tea extracts showed potential inhibitory activity. The liver MAO-B activity was also inhibited by all of the green tea extracts with strong intensity. This study confirmed that major compounds of green tea such as catechin, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and L-theanine, which were well known for the main bioactive components in the tea plants, were not associated with the MAO inhibitory activities of green tea. These results suggested that a MAO inhibition activity comes from other minor tea components we have to search in the future.
Anti oralmicrobial effects of Nulembo nucifera were determined against S.mutans, S.sobrinus S.sobrinus, F.nucleatum, and A.actinomycetemcomitans using paper disc method, minimum inhibitory concentrate (MICs). Extracts of lotus leaf showed the highest yield. MeOH extract is 21%, Chloroform fraction is 4.2%, ethylacetate fraction is 8.2%, water fraction is 19%. Different parts such as flower, leaf, seed and pod showed antimicrobial effects against S.mutans, with flower and seed extracts showing strong antimicrobial effect aganinst S.sobrinus KCCM11897. Leaf extract(1000pm concentration) showed over 50% inhibitory effect against S.mutans and S.sobrinus KCCM11897. Flower extract showed over 40% inhibitory effect against F.nucleatum and A.actinomycetemcomitans. MICs of flower extract against S.sobrinus KCCM11897,11898 and leaf extract against S.mutans, S.sobrinus KCCM11897 were $625\;{\mu}g/ml$, indicating Nulembo nucifera extract can exert antimicrobial activity even at low concentration. All extractes with heat at $120^{\circ}C$ had antimicrobial activity, which means that is a very stable substances. F.nucleatum and A.actinomycetemcomitans was stable against acid it had a trend that the more akali side was the lower acitivity.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to have an in-depth understanding of delivery room nurses' experiences of caring for stillborn babies and their parents. Methods: After obtaining approval from the Institutional Review Board, data were collected from March 1 to August 30, 2016. A total of six nurses participated in the study. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted and the data subsequently analyzed. Results: Using thematic analysis, six themes were defined and refined: Emotional distress as a result of encountering stillborn babies; Caring for the deceased baby; Concerns for the mother's pain; Consideration for the father; Conflicts between accepting and dismissing parents' requests; and Strong mindset for the stillborn babies and their parents. Conclusion: The results showed that the nurses' experiences of caring for stillborn babies and their parents might be a difficult and lonely process. However, it could also be a process of attaining maturity by finding meaning and value in one's work. It would be helpful for the delivery room nurses to share examples of effective communication, train through simulation, and learn useful strategies that each nurse can use.
Building strong brand equity has been the most effective method to extend market share and ensure profits. Brand extension strategy by using well-established mother brand names also becomes the most efficient way to enter a new market. The first objective of this study is to conceptualize and evaluate fashion brand equity. The next purpose is to investigate the relationship between mother brand equity and extended brand attitude. The survey was conducted from the 15th to the 26th of June 2009. We conducted a survey with 200 university students and 182 samples were analyzed. The data was analyzed by SPSS 12.0 with reliability analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis and One-way ANOVA analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the factors of brand equity based on customers were "Brand Satisfaction", "Brand Reliability", "Brand Personality/Value", "Brand Characteristic", and "Brand Edge". Secondly, the order of brand equity based on customers in this study was Polo, Beanpole and Tommy Hilfiger. Lastly, results revealed that brand extension was positively influenced by all factors of mother brand equity.
Cancer metastasis is a major determinant of cancer patient mortality. Mounting evidence favors a strong positive role for $TGF-{\beta}$ in human cancer progression. The complex pattern on cross-talk of $TGF-{\beta}$ and the related other signaling pathways is an important area of investigation that will ultimately contribute to understanding of the bifunctional role of $TGF-{\beta}$ in cancer progression. This review summarizes some of the current understanding of $TGF-{\beta}$ signaling with a major focus in its contribution to the tumor cell invasion and metastasis. Five issues are addressed in this review: (1) $TGF-{\beta}$ signaling, (2) $TGF-{\beta}$ and EMT, (3) $TGF-{\beta}$ and MMP, (4) $TGF-{\beta}$ and Ras, and (5) Role of $TGF-{\beta}$ in invasion and metastasis. Due to the bifunctional cellular effects of $TGF-{\beta}$, as a tumor promoter and a tumor suppressor, more precisely defined $TGF-{\beta}$ signaling pathways need to be elucidated. According to the current literature, $TGF-{\beta}$ is clearly a major factor stimulating tumor progression through a complex spectrum of the interplay and cross-talk between various signaling molecules. Understanding the role of $TGF-{\beta}$ in invasion and metastasis will provide valuable information on establishing strategies to manipulate $TGF-{\beta}$ signaling which should be a high priority for the development of anti-metastatic therapeutics.
Fashion store patronage behavior includes, in broad, choosing of a store and strong preference of a certain store called store-royalty. Thus, in order to achieve successful business in sales, a retailer must continually analyze why target consumers choose particular stores and patronize them. This study identified the relevant factors of the patronage behavior of female college students residing in Seoul. Thus, this study can achieve its goal of enabling retailers to predict use information sources used by the target consumers, so that help retailer to establish new positions of their shops to differentiate them from others and, also, to reposition existing stores. The aims of this study were to classify information sources used by female college students and identify the relationships between them and fashion store patronage behavior. Relationship between the factors of information sources and patronage behavior were identified by use of Tukey's test, Duncan test and ANOVA. As a result, it showed significant differences among patronage groups according to nearly every factor of information sources used by female college students. As based on the results, this study is expected to assist that retailers can establish effective sale strategies in order to make continuously consumers' patronage behavior of a store.
This study examined differences in body mass index (BMI), self-esteem, sociocultural attitude toward appearance, and diet awareness between genders as well as the effect of BMI, self-esteem, and sociocultural attitude toward appearance on diet awareness. This study surveyed adults between the ages of 20 and 29 who lived in Daegu and Uijeongbu from November $17^{th}$ to December $14^{th}$ 2014. Data collected from 258 respondents were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, regression analysis, and ${\chi}^2$ test. The study results showed that the respondents could be divided into three groups (underweight group, standard weight group, and overweight group) by BMI and a large percentage of respondents were in the standard weight group. The percentage of standard weight females was higher than standard weight males. There were significant differences in BMI, sociocultural attitude toward appearance (such as self-awareness), and diet awareness between genders; however, there was no difference in self-esteem. Men also had a higher BMI than women; however, women were more self-aware of sociocultural standards for appearance, desired a slim body and wanted educational information on diet. BMI and sociocultural attitude toward appearance had positive effects on diet awareness. Self-awareness was a strong predictor of diet awareness and self-esteem had no significant effect on diet awareness.
The physico-chemical stability of aucubin, a hepatoprotective iridoid glucoside, in buffered aqueous solutions was studied using a stability-indicating reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography. The degradation of aucubin followed the pseudo-first-order kinetics. In strong acidic regions, aucubin was rapidly degraded by the specific acid catalysis, forming dark brown precipitates. From the rate-pH profiles, it was found that aucubin was most stable at the pH of about 10. From the temperature dependence of degradation, activation energies for aucubin at pH 2.1 and 4.9 were calculated to be 22.0 and 24.3 kcal/mole, respectively. The shelf-life $(t_{90%})$ for aucubin at pH 9.07 and $20^{\circ}C$ was predicted to be about 603 days. A higher ionic strength accelerated the degradation of aucubin at pH 4.01. The effect of metal ions on the degradation rate of aucubin at pH 7.16 was in the rank order of $Cu^{2+}\;>\;Fe^{3+}\;>\;Co^{2+}\;>\;Fe^{2+}\;>\;Mg^{2+}$. On the other hand, $Mn^{2+}\;and\;Ba^{2+}$ slowed the degradation rate.
In modem society, elderly people's continual working is not only effective for realizing elderly welfare but is also an efficient scheme for improving national competitive power with the aging of societies. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to obtain confirmed data on the methods by which people can prepare for elderly people's working and increase the workforce participation rate. The study subjects were 300 male and female elderly people over the age of 60, living and working in Seoul. The method of sampling was purposive sampling in which the subject are extracted and assigned according to their occupations and gender. The results were as follows. Firstly, elderly people have a strong desire for employment stability. Secondly, they lack knowledge on obtaining information about jobs and approaching their desired job field. Thirdly, the subjects suggested that it is necessary to raise the level of social recognition about elderly people's working and to develop an environment that is conducive for increasing the working rate of the elderly.
