한국의 춘계 소우년과 다우년의 종관기후학적 특성 (Synoptic Climatological Characteristics of Dry and Wet Years in Korea in the Spring)

  • 본 연구는 한국에 있어서 춘계 강수 분포의 변동성과 소우년과 다우년의 500hPa면의 대기 순환 특성을 비교 분석한 연구이다. 한국의 춘계 강수량 변동률의 분포는 월별로 상이하다. 3월은 한국의 서안 지역은 높고 남동안은 낮아서 서고 동저, 4월은 북고 남저, 5월은 동고 서저 경향을 나타낸다. 500hPa면의 고도편차 분포에서 3월의 소우년은 한반도 주변과 북태평양 서안에 음의 편차역을 형성하고 시베리아를 중심한 동아시아 내륙이 양의 편차를 나타내어 서고 동저형을 이루고 있다. 따라서 한반도와 그 주변은 대상풍의 동서성분 풍속은 양의 편차역에 속하여 동서류가 강할 때 소우현상이 나타난다. 다우년은 소우년과는 대조적으로 한반도는 알류샨열도 주변 및 북태평양 서안에 중심을 둔 양의 편차역에 속하고, 티베트고원 및 시베리아를 중심한 동아시아 내륙지역은 음의 편차역에 속하여 동고 서저형을 나타내며, 이 때 동서류는 약하다. 4ㆍ5월의 소우년은 북태평양의 중앙부에서 동아시아 동안에 연결된 대상의 음의 편차역에 속하며 양의 편차역은 알류샨열도에서 티베트고원에 이르는 동아시아 중부에 분포하여 북고 남저 유형을 나타내고 다우년은 소우년과 반대로 남고북저 유형을 나타내고 있다. 한반도에서의 춘계 소우년과 다우년의 출현시 대기 순환이 대조적일 뿐만 아니라 조춘과 만춘의 대기순환이 상이함을 확인하였다.

  • In the case of the railway bridges, uplift forces were occurred at the edge of the segments when vehicular loads were applied. These forces made the compressive and tensile forces occur in the fastening system. Therefore, the structural analysis was performed to investigate the safety of fastening system which was modeled as one directional spring element. In this case, the stiffness of the spring element was obtained from experimental study which was conducted by compressive load. For that reason, to perform rational and exact structural analysis, the translational stiffness of the fastening system obtained from the experimental study applied the tensile load and the rotational stiffness should be considered because it was occurred the tensile force as well as the compressive force in fastening system. In this study, an elastic and inelastic experimental study was performed for six specimens. The translational stiffness along the vertical axis of rail and the rotational stiffness along the strong axis of rail were investigated. Also structural behavior of the fastening system was analyzed.

KT-23형 여객 차량의 상하 진동 해석 및 축소모형 실험 (Analysis and Small Scale Model Expriment on the Vertical Vibration of the KT-23 Type Passenger Vehicle)

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain the effects of the parameters of the suspension system in railway rolling-stock for KT-23 type Passenger vehicle. According to the analysis and the small scale model car test. optimal condition was obtained for the stiffness ratio of secondary spring to primary spring of the suspension system and the mass ratio of the bogie frame to the car body. The analysis of the study shows that if the car body mass is increased or secondary stiffness Is lowered, the vertical vibration level is reduced and the passenger comfort can be improved. Especially, strong peaks are occurred in the frequencies corresponding to the rotational speed of driving axle and vehicle wheel. Hence, in order to obtain the dynamic characteristics through the small scale model car, the driving method of the vehicle on the test bench, rotational characteristics of the wheel and the natural modes of vehicle should be investigated and be modified.

한국산 복어의 독성 -2. 국매리복의 독성- (Toxicity of Pufferfish in Korea -2. Toxicity of Pufferfish Takifugu vermicularis radiatus (Gukmeri-bok)-)

  • 국매리복의 독성을 조사하기 위하여 1992년과 1993년 봄과 가을에 인천과 안산에서 31개체를 구입하여 조직별 독성을 조사하였다. 조직의 최고 독성으로 보아 생식선(수컷, 4,920MU/g; 암컷, 2,500MU/g) 간장(1,680MU/g)과 근육(1,600MU/g)은 맹독이었으며, 내장(950 MU/g)과 껍질(550MU/g)은 강독이었다. 이들의 평균 독성은 모두 강독으로 나타났다. 한편 간장, 내장의 독성은 가을철보다 봄철에 더욱 강하여서 계절 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 국매리복이 맹독성의 복어임을 입증하는 것이므로, 따라서 이들의 섭식으로 인한 중독 예방을 위한 조치가 필요하겠다.

동래온천의 수리지질학적 특성과 수위변화 (Hydrogeological Characteristics and Groundwater Table Fluctuation of Dongrae Hot Spring)

  • Dongrae is one of the most famous hot spring resort area in the Republic of Korea. The water temperature ranges $50^{\circ}C{\sim}66$. The chemical composition of the thermal water is quite different from normal groundwater. $Na^+$ and $Cl^-$ are the main components, measured more than 75%, $Ca^{+{+}}$ is contained about 22% and the other ions such as $SO_4$ or $HCO_3$ are the minor components. The heat source is uprising along the fracture zone of granite which is indicated as a subsurface high temperature belt. During the research period of 1991~1992, the groundwater table was lowered down to the depth of about 100 m according to continuous increase of daily use of thermal water. The groundwater table was fluctuated with an amplitude of day, weak or seasion. The groundwater table was the lowest at 18:00 h in a day and also lowest at the weekend for the week period. There was a relavent relationship between drawdown and the amount of thermal water use on a long term base. To protect such a rapid drawdown of groundwater table, Dongrae resort area is now asked to take strong municipal control for the daily use of thermal water.

  • The flow pattern and water mass structure in the Chungmu channel were investigated using the field observations during June and July, 2001. The currents in the channel may be regarded as a hydraulic current decided by difference of tide levels between two sides in the channel. The strongest current in the channel occurs around in high water and low water. The coefficient C to be determined the characteristics of velocity in the channel was obtained from an equation, $u=C{\sqrt{2gh}}$ and ranges from 0.37 to 0.65 in the Chungmu Channel at the spring tide and from 0.23 to 0.37 at the neap tide. Eastward tidal transport is usually larger than that of westward transport in Chungmu the Channel. Sea water exchange rates are 39.2% in spring tide and 20.5% in neap tide respectively. The water mass structure in the channel is changed by the speed of the tidal current. The water mass is well mixed at the high water when the current is strong and is stratified at slack water when the current is weak.

  • Total primary production resulting from the photosynthetic process can be defined as the amount of organic matter produced in a given period of time. It is proportional to the chlorophyll-a (chl-a) values in the surface layer of the ocean. The MODIS board on Aqua satellite measures visible and infrared radiation in 36 wavebands, providing simultaneous images of chl-a concentration and sea surface temperature (SST) in the upper layer of the sea. The seasonal distribution of chl-a concentration during one year from April 2005 to March 2006 was examined. Light has a role of starting the seasonal cycle. The Kuroshio Current in this area induces many oceanographical features affecting to the change of seasonal control. The chl-a concentration is also seasonal, which is low in summer and high in winter. In summer, the meandering of Kuroshio Current induces strong eddies and increases the chl-a concentration. In autumn, the delayed small autumn bloom occurred until last December due to the Kuroshio Current. When the Kuroshio axis moves far from the coast, the coastal water dominates and increases the concentration even in the winter. The spring bloom starts early at the beginning of March and decreases during the spring.

Ecological Correlates of Flowering Seasons in Korean Angiosperms

  • Ecological correlates of flowering times often are examined to infer evolutionary mechanisms for flowering time diversities. We examined ecological characteristic associations such as growth habits and pollination modes with flowering times among 3,037 Korean angiosperms experiencing strong climatic seasonalities. We first examined taxonomic membership effects on flowering times across diverse taxonomic levels. Phylogeny constrained flowering times at all levels down to the genus level. We then analyzed the effects of ecological characteristics using subset data consisting of species randomly selected from each genus to control phylogenetic effects. The commonly observed patterns of early flowering of woody species in temperate regions existed. Spring flowering shrubs and trees, however, both being woody, were involved with biotic and abiotic vectors, respectively. In two herbaceous groups of annuals and perennials, annuals flowered later in the growing season than perennials although both herbs tended to be associated with abiotic vectors when flowering in autumn. These results support our hypothesis that species able to decouple vegetative and reproductive growth flower in spring's dry season, but species with different habits, even when they flower within the same season, are subjected to different selective pressures for efficient pollination.

동해 북서해역의 표층해황 특성 (On the Characteristics of the Oceanic Condition in the Surface Layer of the Northwestern East Sea (Japan Sea))

  • 동한만을 중심으로 한 동해 북서해역의 계절별 및 연별 표층해황 특성을 고찰하였다. 동한만의 계절별 해황은 춘계에 동한난류수의 세력이 우세하다가 하리에 북한한류의 강화와 더불어 냉수역이 발달하는 형과, 봄부터 냉수의 세력이 탁월하다가 여름이 되면서 동한난류수의 영향을 받는 형의 두가지 유형을 보인다. 경년변동 특성도 동한난류와 북한한류간의 흐름의 상대적 세기와 유로에 따라 4가지 유형으로 분류된다. 각각의 경우, 동한만 부근에는 대ㆍ소규모의 저기압성 냉수과 혹은 고기압성 난수과가 발달하는 것이 한 특징이다.

효율적인 대화형 천 시뮬레이션 기법 (An Efficient Method for Interactive Cloth Simulation)

  • 본 논문에서는 질점-스프링 모델(mass-spring model)에 기반한 대화형 천 시뮬레이션(interactive cloth simulation) 기법을 제시하며, 특히 소수의 질점들(mass-points)에 상대적으로 강한 힘이 가해졌을 경우 사실적으로 천을 시뮬레이션하는 방법에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법은 소수의 점들에 대해 가해진 힘을 모든 질점들에 분산시킴으로써 의사 실시간(pseudo real-time) 내에 시뮬레이션을 수행하며, 이는 기존의 방법들에 비해 수행속도 면에서 매우 효율적이다. 또한, Provot[9]의 역동역학 방법(inverse dynamic method)을 사용하여 초탄성(super-elasticity) 현상을 해결한 뒤, 인접한 질점 간의 각도를 조정함으로써 초탄성 효과에 의해 발생하는 지그재그(zigzag) 현상을 제거하여 사실적으로 천을 시뮬레이션한다.
