DES 모형을 이용한 270도 곡관 내 난류유동에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical investigation of Turbulent Flow in $270^{\circ}$ Bend using DES approaches)

  • Detached Eddy Simulation(DES) is performed for turbulent flow of the $270^{\circ}$ bend at a Reynolds number of 56,690. A Fine grid generation is used near a wall in order to satisfy the wall boundary condition of y+<1. Turbulence models adopted for DES and Reynolds Average Navier Stokes(RANS) simulation are SST(Shear Stress Transfort) model. Solutions for both streamwise and circumferential velocity components are compared with the experimental data by Lee for $270^{\circ}$ bend and by Chang for $180^{\circ}$ bend.

  • The angled crack which is the simplest and representative case in the mixed mode crack analysis has stimulated the interests of many investigators during past 20 years. In this study the conventional quadratic isoparametric elements were used in all regions except the crack tip zone where triangular singularity elements with 6 nodes were used. The stress intensity factor of K1 and KII were determined respectively by the displacement correlation method. The finite element analysis program in this paper based on maximum energy release rate criteria and the results obtaiend by this program were compared with those calculated from the maximum circumferential tensile criteria and those by Jenq and Shah's experiments of the same geometry and material properties

  • The objective of this study is to develop a technique that analyzes the global behavior of frame structures with local cracks. The technique is based on frame analysis and uses the stiffness matrix of cracked frame element. An algorithm proposed here analyzes a frame structure with local transverseedge cracks, considering the effects of crack length and location. Stress intensity factors are employed to calculate additional local compliance due to the cracks based on linear elastic fracture mechanics theory, and then this local compliance is utilized to derive the stiffness matrix of the cracked frame element. In order to verify the accuracy and reliability of the proposed approach, numerical results are compared with those of Finite Element Method for the cracked frame element, and the effects of single crack on the behavior of truss structure are also examined.

  • FRANC3D is a program for simulating arbitrary three-dimensional crack growth. Recently, a completely new version of the program, FRANC3D/NG, has been created. Unlike previous versions, which relied largely on boundary element analysis, the new version of the program works with finite element analysis exclusively and is designed to work with general-purpose commercial finite element packages. This paper presents the theoretical underpinnings of the procedures to adaptively modify the geometry and mesh of a model to simulate crack growth.

일반유한유소법을 이용한 응력확대계수 계산 (Computation of Stress Intensity Factors using Generalized Finite Element Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 일반유한요소법(Generalized Finite Element Method)를 이용하여 응력확대계수를 계산하는 방법을 소개한다. 기존의 유한요소법을 사용하여 응력확대계수를 계산하기위해서는 J-integral 방법 등을 이용한 후처리 과정이 필수적으로 요구된다. 뿐만 아니라 균열선단 근방에서의 응력을 기술하기 위해서는 세밀한 요소망(mesh)이 요구된다. 후처리 과정과 균열선단 근방에서의 요소망은 수치적 오류를 발생시키고 이는 정확한 응력확대계수를 얻는데 어려움을 준다. 일반유한요소법은 근사함수를 요소망의 영향 없이 추가해서 사용할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있지만, 활용성 측면에서 기존의 유한요소법보다 복잡하여 실용성이 떨어진다. 본 논문에서는 일반유한요소법의 장점을 충분히 살려 균열선단근방에서는 응력을 모델링하여 근사함수로 사용하고 균열선단에서 거리가 먼 곳은 기존의 유한요소를 써서 계산을 하였다. 특별한 후처리 과정(Post processing) 없이 비교적 정확한 응력확대계수를 손쉽게 얻을 수 있다. 일반유한요소법을 이용한 제시된 방법론이 타당함을 수치 예제를 통하여 확인하였다.

Study on Improvement of Blood Stagnation by Pulsed Magnetic Field

  • This study explored the effect of pulsed magnetic field (PMF) stimulus on the improvement of blood stagnation by means of photoplethysmography (PPG). Our stimulus system was designed to generate PMF with a maximum intensity variation of 0.20 T at a transition time of $160{\mu}s$, with pulse intervals of 1 Hz. In order to quantitatively estimate vascular condition, indices such as blood vessel tension (BVT), stress power (SP), differential pulse wave index (DPI) and remained blood volume (RBV) were calculated from the second derivative of the PPG signal and power density spectrum (PDS). Our results showed that non-invasive PMF stimulus was effective in improving blood stagnation. Therefore, it may be concluded that appropriate PMF stimulus affects the blood circulatory system.

  • A spray characteristics is carried out in a numerical simulation of swirl coaxial injector. The water and nitrogen are the oxidizer and fuel is used in cold flow condition. The simulation is carried out in 3d model with varying recess length. Reynolds stress turbulence and volume of fluid model were chosen to perform the simulation. The spray characteristics have been investigated as well as the influence of the inlet swirl strength of the internal flow. Effect of recess length is studied for the axial and radial velocity decreased with a reduced length of inner injector due to the decline vortex intensity.

  • Fracture tests were carried out in order to investigate the flexural behavior of SFRC (Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete) structures. Sixty three SFRC beams were used in the tests, the fracture mode, the relationships between loading and strains, and the relationships between loading and mid-span deflections of the beams were observed under the three point bending loading. From the test results, the effects of steel fiber contents and a/h ratio on the concrete flexural behavior were studied, and the stress intensity factors and the flexural strength of SFRC beams were calculated. According to the results of regression analysis, predicting formulas for the flexural strength of SFRC beams are also suggested.

짧은균열의 피로성장거동 (Fatigue Growth Behavior of Short Cracks)

  • The fatigue growth behavior of short cracks were studied various load ratios. Computer-aided unloading elastic compliance method was employed to measure the closure and the length of short cracks. In the dc/dN-$\Delta$K relationships. the decreasing behavior of the growth rate of short cracks is due to the decrease of crack opening ratio with increasing crack length. Irrespective of load ratio. the growth rate of short cracks can be well decribed in terms of the effective stress intensity factor range $\Delta$K$_{eff}$, which is calculated on the base of crack closure. dc/dN-$\Delta$K$_{eff}$ relationships of short cracks are found to coincide well with the corresponding long crack relationships. accordingly. the growth rate of short cracks can be predicted using that of long cracks.ort cracks can be predicted using that of long cracks.cks.

  • This study is to analyzes the global behavior of frame structures with local cracks in structural members by frame analysis, using the stiffness matrix of cracked frame element. This local compliance is utilized to derive the stiffness matrix of the cracked frame element and the effects of interaction among multiple cracks are also examined. The proposed technique is applied to frame structures with local cracks. Analysis results confirm the possibility of quantitative analysis of a structure damaged with local cracks and the feasibility of the technique as a tool for analyzing the global behavior of frame structures, reflecting effects of local cracks.
