The purpose of this study was to examine the job stress and psychosocial stress of dental hygienists and risk factors related to psychosocial stress. The subjects in this study were 349 dental hygienists in dental hospitals and clinics located in Jeonbuk Province. A self-administered survey was conducted, and the collected data were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: The median of their total scores in job stress was 46.0, and the average of psychosocial stress scores was 23.67. As a result of analyzing their demographic characteristics and psychosocial stress, many of the respondents who were younger, who had less working experience and who drank once or twice a week belonged to the high-risk group of psychosocial stress (p<0.05). Concerning the relationship between job stress and psychosocial stress, many of the respondents who suffered from heavier job stress belonged to the high-risk group of psychosocial stress (p<0.05). The group whose occupational climate was less stressful was 3.6-fold more likely to belong to the high-risk group of psychosocial stress than the other whose workpalce culture was more stressful before the correction of the data, and the former was 3.4-fold more likely to do that than the latter after that. The group whose total score in workplace stress was higher was 2.3-fold more likely to belong to the high-risk group of psychosocial stress than the other whose workplace stress was lower before the correction of the data, and the former was 2.7-fold more likely to do that than the latter after that. Given the findings of the study, the development of job stress management programs is required, and everybody should make sustained self-management efforts to relieve their own stress and try to get rid of it in their own way.

The deck plates of ship block is made of thin plates in their construction. A main reason of using thin plates is that deck plates don't need to support large structural loads. Therefore, out-of-plane deformations between stiffeners are frequent in deck blocks. Because these are got right by correction heating, they continuously causes quality problems in the final dock-building process. According to preceding research, the lifting process by cranes would offset the effect of correction heating. This study finds out the remained efficiency of correction heating when tensional loads are added by a lifting to corrected parts. We used inherent strains in calculating the efficiency, and established the methodology where the positions for callings are. For getting more accurate positions, besides the structural lifting analysis, welding deformation analysis with upper block and measured data from a serial ship are also referenced.

The paper presents preliminary investigation results for the effect of the baseline correction in the acceleration excitation method on finite element seismic analysis results (such as accumulated equivalent plastic strain, equivalent plastic strain considering cyclic plasticity, von Mises effective stress, etc) of nuclear safety Class I components. For investigation, finite element elastic-plastic time-history seismic analysis is performed for a surge line including a pressurizer lower head, a pressurizer surge nozzle, a surge piping, and a hot leg surge nozzle using the Chaboche hardening model. Analysis is performed for various seismic loading methods such as acceleration excitation methods with and without the baseline correction, and a displacement excitation method. Comparing finite element analysis results, the effect of the baseline correction is investigated. As a result of the investigation, it is identified that finite element analysis results using the three methods do not show significant difference.
The fatigue crack growth behavior in GTA butt welded joints of Al-Alloy 5052-H38 was examined using Single Edge Notched(SEN) specimens. It is well known that welding residual stress has marked influence on fatigue crack growth rate in welded structure. In the general area of fatigue crack growth in the presence of residual stress, it is noted that the correction of stress intensity factor (K) to account for residual stress is important for the determination of both stress intensity factor range(.DELTA.K) and stress ratio(R) during a loading cycle. The crack growth rate(da/dN) in welded joints were correlated with the effective stress intensity factor range(.DELTA.Keff) which was estimated by superposition of the respective stress intensity factors for the residual stress field and for the applied stress. However, redistribution of residual stress occurs during crack growth and its effect is not negligible. In this study, fatigue crack growth characteristics of the welded joints were examined by using superposition of redistributed residual stress and discussed in comparison with the results of the initial welding residual stress superposition.

In this study, finite element fatigue analysis combined with a fatigue correlation factor is proposed to predict the bending fatigue life of a gear in an electro-mechanical aircraft actuator. First, stress-life curves are obtained for the gear material via a round bar fatigue test. Subsequently, stochastic stress-life (P-S-N) curves are derived for 50% and 1% failure probabilities, separately. The curves are applied to the fatigue analysis model of a single gear tooth, and the effect of the fatigue correction factor is analyzed. The analytical P-S-N curves reflecting the fatigue correction factor matched the experimental data. This shows that the analytical fatigue life is reliable and that the analysis technique is effective.
For the cracked component under combined primary and secondary stress, an interacion between the loads occurs and the secondary stress is relaxed by the primary load. To account for this phenomena, R6 code provides the correction factor which is called V-factor. However, evaluation corrected with V-factor need to be examined for its conservatism. In this paper the conservatism of the current V-factor is examined for the circumferentially cracked pipe under the combined load and new evaluation method is proposed to reduce the conservatism.

According to the wide - spread use of rectifier in electronic equipments, such problems as electronic components failures or equipment disorders have been occurred due to current harmonics. To overcome these problems, power factor correction circuits employing boost converter have been used. The high switching stress of boost converter can be reduced by snubber circuit. Recently, research activities in snubber circuits have been directed to energy recovery snubber for improving the efficiency of power converter. In this study, a new passive snubber circuit which can recover trapped snubber energy without added control is proposed for boost converter. The control of boost converter with proposed snubber is the same as the conventional one. In addition, the energy recovery circuit can be implemented with a few passive components. The circuit operation is confirmed through simulation.

This paper presents an optimized design technique that can satisfy the design input values. Numerical analysis was performed on the slope correction device based on the first design. The stress distribution was confirmed when the load specified as the design input value was applied, and design changes were introduced for parts for which the design safety factor did not meet the standard to ensure rigidity. And the results were verified through FEA.

The measurement of residual stresses by the hole-drilling method has been commonly used to evaluate residual stresses in structural members. In this method, one of the source of error is due to the misalignment between the drilling hole and strain gage center. This paper presents a finite element analysis of the influence of such misalignment for the uniaxial residual stress field. The stress error increases proportionally to hole eccentricity. The correction equations which easily obtain the residual stress taking account of the hole eccentricity are derived. The stress error due to the hole eccentricity decreases by approximately one percent using this equations.
In this study, non-load-carrying fillet welded joints fabricated using EH grade-steel are evaluated with the structural stress approach. The thickness effect was investigated by a study on welded steel joints with thickness ranging from 25 to 80mm. As-welded joint for main plate thickness of 25 to 80mm, the fatigue strength is reduced gradually. On the other hand, in case of main plate thickness of 25 to 80mm, the structural stress concentration factor increases gradually. As a result, for structural stress approach, thickness effect is not required for correction. Based on these results, a new evaluation fillet welded joint for fatigue design purposes has been proposed FAT 125.
