미니밀 공정의 회귀식 모델링에 의한 제품품질향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Product Quality Improvement by Regression Modeling of Mini-Mill Process)

  • Mini-Mill process has been recently in operation at Pohang steel company, which enables more flexible steel coil production on customer demands. The effects of process parameters in Mini-Mill process need to be analyzed not only to make the process stable but also to improve product quality. This work aims to develop a regression model of Mini-Mill process using accumulated product data such that the process parameter effects on product tensile strength may be analyzed. The analysis shows that tensile strength is influenced mainly by the amount of components such as carbon, manganese, silicon, and sulfur. The effect of temperature is shown to be small. It is concluded that control of the components is much more responsible for both meeting the target and reducing the variation of the product tensile strength. Heat treatment is more useful in compensating tensile strength variations due to thickness differences and improving workability and other quality characteristics. More work is necessary for establishing regression expressions of the process that is reliable and accurate enough to dispense with the off-line inspection of the product tensile strength.

  • Recently, some researchers have found, as a part of the development of new materials, the rice straw ash can also be used as a pozzolanic material for concrete considering similar chemical properties of rice straw ash to that of rice husk ash. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to improve compressive strength of concrete adding agriculture by-product. Compressive strength were tested on rice straw ashes at 600℃ to identify improving strength effect.

  • This study is a part of development to improve early-age compressive strength of concrete by using industrial by-products. It tried to investigate the characteristics of early-age compressive strength according to curing temperature and industrial by-product replacement ratio 10, 20, and 30 %. As a result, regardless of industrial by-product replacement ratio and age, early-age compressive strength of concrete was found to be high compared to Plain using 100 % cement.

  • Replacing a large amount of ground granulated blast furnace slag is limited because early age strength is low due to latent hydraulic property despite excellence of long-term strength. This study aimed to examine produceableness of high-activated ground granulated blast furnace slag using slag by-product from steel process. As experimental variable, the properties of strength development were analyzed by setting fineness and replacement ratio of slag by-product, curing conditions, and W/B. The results of study showed that high-activated ground granulated blast furnace slag using slag by-product as an activator improve the compressive strength of mortar. It is expected to be used as binder for secondary product of concrete considering curing and mixing conditions because high-activated ground granulated blast furnace slag can be hydrated by itself.

  • This study describes the cold stamping process design procedure to secure the formability and dimensional accuracy of the automotive structural component fabricated by 1.5GPa grade ultra-high strength steel sheet. The target product is selected as the front side rear lower member which is the most important energy absorption part in the frontal impact condition. To secure the product quality, an intermediate product shape is added while considering the low elongation and high strength characteristics of 1470Mart. The sequential optimization procedure of the intermediate product shape, the fine dimensional quality is then achieved without any crack or wrinkling. The cold stamping method with ultra-high strength steel sheets is validated by conducting the die tryout of the front side rear lower member.

혼화재료로서 규조토 분말을 사용한 모르타르의 강도 특성 (Strength Characteristics of Mortar with Diatomite Powder as an Admixture)

  • 혼화재료로 사용한 규조토 분말이 모르타르의 강도에 미치는 영향을 검토하기 위하여 시판되고 있는 건조상태의 비소성제품과 소성제품 각 1종류 및 융제소성제품 2종류 등 모두 4종류의 규조토 분말을 사용한 모르타르의 물성실험을 실시하였다. 규조토 분말을 시멘트 질량으로 10% 범위 내에서 대체 사용하고 물-결합재비를 동일하게 한 모르타르 실험결과로서, 소성제품을 사용한 경우는 그 사용량의 증가에 따라 재령 7일, 28일 및 56일의 전체 시험재령에서 압축강도 및 휨강도가 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다. 그러나 비소성제품은 모르타르의 유동성을 저하시켜 단위수량을 크게 증가시키는 문제점이 있었으며, 융제소성제품은 모르타르의 강도개선효과가 나타나지 않았다.

  • Because the grading of aggregate is major factor affecting on compressive strength and durability of concrete, the standard specification of concrete has proposed that the standard grading should be used to make ordinary concrete having good quality. But, it is not suitable for making product having low W/C because of difference between them in manufacturing processes and demanded efficiencies. This study investigated if the grading of the fine aggregate affects on tamping efficiency and compressive strength of concrete-based product. The results of this study showed that the suitable grading for making concrete-based product ranged from C type(FM:2.77) to D type(FM:3.38).

  • As the purpose of this study is a research of series to obtain fundamental data on the development of the product of foamed concrete using bottom ash for various applications in the field, the main purpose is the light weight of product of concrete. In this experiment, method of mixing of foam is very important because it control specific gravity and strength of the product. As the test results, it was found that regardless of mixing method the grower the concentration of foaming agent the lower the specific gravity and the compressive strength of the specimen especially pre-foaming method. From a strength point of view, we knew that mix-foaming method and steam curing is efficient to obtain a adequate compressive strength of foamed concrete.

새로 개발한 실리콘젤시트의 물성에 대한 연구 (Comparison Study of Physical Properties between Two Silicone Gel Sheets)

  • Purpose: Silicone gel sheet(SGS) is used for preventing and treating keloid or hypertrophic scars. Because the product is weak in tear strength and adherence, it requires several replacements, which requires high cost. As a solution for this problem, we developed a new silicone gel sheet, named as Scar Clinic, and confirmed its physical properties. Methods: Tensile strength, elongation rate, adhesiveness, and water vapor transmission rate were experimentally compared between the most commonly used SGS product and the Scar Clinic. Results: The newly developed SGS showed better results compared to the existed SGS in regards to tensile strength, elongation rate, adhesiveness, and water vapor transmission rate. Conclusion: The Scar Clinic showed higher durability and flexibility. It will be a useful product for treating scars clinically.

산업부산물을 활용한 조기강도 촉진제 기술 개발을 위한 연구 (Study on the Development of Accelerator for Early Strength of Concrete using Industrial by-product)

  • 본 연구에서는 OPC 및 BFS 혼입 콘크리트의 초기재령 압축강도 향상을 위해 산업부산물인 티탄석고, 정수오니를 활용하여 경제성을 만족하면서 콘크리트의 조기강도(재령 1, 3일)를 향상시킬 수 있는 촉진제(이하 HSB) 개발을 위한 기초적 연구를 실시하였다. 조강형 분체의 제조를 위한 산업부산물의 조합 비율은 기초 실험 및 성분분석을 통해 티탄석고(4) : 석회석(3) : 정수오니(3)의 비율로 조합을 확정하였으며, HSB의 혼입률은 사전시험을 거쳐(7~9) %가 적정한 것으로 나타났다. 페이스트 경화체의 SEM 촬영 결과 HSB 혼입을 통한 자극으로 인해 수화반응이 촉진되어 수화생성물이 다량 분포한 것을 SEM 측정을 통해 확인 할 수 있었으며, HSB 혼입 콘크리트 압축강도 측정결과 HSB를 혼입함에 따라 Plain 배합에 비해 초기재령에서 높은 압축강도 발현율을 나타내는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 GHSB에 비해 FHSB 배합이 더욱 우수한 강도를 나타내었으며, FHSB 치환율이 증가함에 따라 압축강도는 소폭 상승하는 결과를 나타내었다. 한편, HSB 및 혼합시멘트를 사용한 콘크리트의 경우 촉진재 종류에 관계없이 촉진재 치환율 9 %에서 Plain 배합 이상의 조기강도를 발현하는 것으로 나타났으며, 촉진재 종류에 따른 영향을 알아본 결과, GHSB에 비해 FHSB가 재령 1, 3일에는 더욱 우수한 조기강도 발현성능을 나타내었다.
