A Study on Manufacturing Processes of Street-lighting System using COH LED Package (COH형 LED 패키지를 이용한 가로등 생산공정에 관한 연구)

  • Recent high oil price results in the development of energy saving technology such as LED lighting system. Street-lighting system using COH LED package can save energy because the heat dissipation through cupper base is better than conventional technology. Studies on manufacturing processes of lighting system are insufficient even though LED package design and its heat analysis have been studied. This study focuses on the problem and solution of manufacturing processes such as LED packaging process, optimized emission angle, and LED bar dimension for mechanical assembly. As a result, we established better manufacturing alternatives of LED packaging and street-lighting system with higher lighting efficiency of 84 lm/W, as well as good illumination intensity of 39.7 lux at 6 m from lighting source.

  • In this paper, We proposed remote dimming control system for Light Emitting Diode(LED) street light using Power Line Communication(PLC). LED will be used widly by indoor or outdoor lighting because of semi-permanent life and environment restriction. For energy saving of street light, the dimming control system is very necessary and the PLC is a very efficient technique. Thus, in this paper we proposed the remote dimming control system for LED street light using PLC. A performance of the proposed system was validated by experimental results.

  • China adopted a free market economy system and is about to enter into the WTO(World Trade Organization). It has now emerged as one of the most promising markets in the world for the near future. The purpose of this study was to investigate in Chinese and Korea women's street fashion and to suggest basic information for high quality clothing merchandising for China. The subjects in this study were 800 photos it was taken at the fashion street and college in Beijing(400) and Seoul(400). The survey was taken from December, 1999. SAS(Statistical Analysis System) is used for frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, $X^2$-test. The results of this study are as follows. Examination on the Korean and Chinese street fashion showed that Korean and Chinese have different preference for silhouette, length, and color. China has different sensibility of the items of clothing. The Chinese students prefer classical and individual Chinese street clothing. Korean student has shown very fashionable street clothing all items. It is needed to different merchandising project for clothing in China.

Computerization for Management of Street Tree Using CAD (CAD를 이용한 가로수 관리 전산화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to computerize street tree management using a CAD program in order to manage the drawing record of street trees systematically and concurrently. The configuration of this program is composed of Reference Data, Data Inquiry, and Cost Assessment. The Reference Data includes characteristics of trees, monthly managements records, damage by blight and insects and usage of pesticides. The Data Inquiry includes an individual search of the tree index, simple searches and multiple searches. The Cost Assessment includes two main components, the data input with labor cost, manure ocst and pesticide cost and the assesment of management cost for prevention of blight and insects, pruning and fertilization. The results of this study are as follows: 1) When there are practices such as transplanting and removing of street trees it is immediately updated with the various situation. By creating an in progress a tree management system, up to the date information can be given to the manager for decision making. 2) To identify individual tree at the site or in drawing, the street name and numbers were used instead of coordinates. Tree tags are attached to the street trees individually. It can make DB management simple and easy. 3) By doing simple or multiple search with constructed DB, data can be provided quickly. 4) The result of this type of search are useful in the assessment of management cost very useful in regards to items such as the pruning, pesticides scattering and fertilization. 5) By using the AutoCAD software and existing PC without purchasing new equipment, the cost of system implementation can be minimized.

  • This paper relates to the study about the street security light management system. The purpose of the wireless remote management system is to manage street security lights efficiently. The system is composed of three components like light controller, CDMA gateway and web based remote management server. The zigbee solution is adopted to make local wireless network between street security lights. The CDMA network is used for the wireless communication between street security light controller and the remote control center. The gateway to interconnect zigbee network and CDMA was designed with low power 32 bits Cortex M3 micro-controller. For the data communication between the management server and the gateway, SMS and socket based TCP streaming is used. The management server sends SMS to the gateway to deliver light control and management requests, and the gateway replies with the light controllers report via TCP streaming. By using both SMS and TCP streaming communication, it was verified that simple cost effective management is possible for street security lights. We tried real test for 95 street security lights in real environment during two months and analyzed the practical possibility for mass supply.

  • This paper presents a traveler guidance system that offers 3D street information such as road types, signal light systems, street trees, buildings, etc. We consider 5x4 road system of Gangnam(in Seoul, Korea) as a test area and reflect the traveler's car-driving situation. A web server is constructed to serve traveler's driving path by switching 3D animation scenes automatically. To do batch processing of geometric data for the 3D graphical streets construction, we have extracted major street information from present GIS database and created new GIS file formats (SMF files), which contain data sessions for links, nodes, and facilities. With these files, we can render 3D navigation scenes. A number of vector calculations were performed for the geometrical consistence and texture-mapping method was used for the realistic scene generation. Finally, we have verified the effectiveness of the service by operating a test scenario. We have checked whether traveler's 2D path and 3D navigation are exactly reported after setting specific departure and destination. This system offers us well awareness of streets and takes useful role of traveler guidance.

  • There have been numerous researches on Nak-An village in Jeollanamdo, one of the most representative traditional castle village in Korea. Most of them have dealt with general and physical architectural scale and features separately. Therefore this study aims to understand the compositional characteristics of building layout and exterior space and the relations between street system and dwelling unit of folk houses in Nak-An village. The study examined houses of ordinary people in Nak-An village constructed before the village was not affected by foreign influences. 36 folk houses in Nak-An built from nineteenth century to early twentieth century and believed to have few physical changes from the original floor plans and architectural forms were the subjects to be analyzed. The most popular types in building layout are "Open L"and "Open U". The most typical orientation of main building is Southwest. The favorable entry into the dwelling lot is from the side. The street system in the village consists of main streets of South-North, resulting in dwelling lots with North-South axis most general. This site condition forces the entry into the lot from North main street and the side access to the main building. From these findings, the building layout and the entry into the dwelling lot of folk houses in Nak-An are strongly related with street system and conditions of dwelling lot.

Development of the LED Street Lamp by using Wired and Wireless Remote Control System (유무선 원격제어장치를 이용한 LED 가로등 제어 시스템 구현)

  • LED lighting control technique is one of the ongoing research areas for efficient management of LED lighting. In this paper, we design and implementation of LED street lighting remote control system which have a wired and wireless communication function for LED street lighting remote control. The implemented system can automatically dimming and individual(or consolidated) LED street lighting via RS-485/422 or Wi-Fi. In experimental results, the implemented remote control system was satisfactory for all of the desired functions.

How Mothers Recognize Intake Status on Street Food of Elementary School Students in the Jeon Buk Region (전북지역 초등학생의 길거리 음식 섭취 실태와 이에 대한 어머니의 인식도)

  • This research has been surveyed on street food and snack intake status of elementary school students in the Jeon Buk region and the recognition of mothers has been observed for the objective of providing base materials for appropriate eating habits and nutritional education. As for status on intake of street food, most students (97.3%) have shown to have eaten from the street vendors while mothers assume low frequency in their child's intake of street food. Favorite street food choices had an agreement between mother and student as ddukbokki and dakkochi. Students were more tolerant in sanitation and necessity of street food than the mothers. This research shows that there is a difference in the recognition of street food between the students and their mothers. There a need required for improvement in the system as to provide quality food and to prevent poor quality food being exposed to the students. Furthermore, practical and appropriate education must be conducted at home and at school for better choices of food and a better lifestyle.   • The purpose of this paper is to find out the investigation of overseas case in Street Furnitures of Public Design. Thus this research regions select among the waterfront cities; Tokyo/Yokohama(Japan), Nies/Cannes(France), Shanghai(China), Vancouver(Canada), in addition to the city of art and romance; Paris. Above all, it is necessary to study concept of public design and definition of street furnitures. The survey data collected from forenamed cities and the items of street furnitures are various installments such as kiosk, bench, bollard, litter-bin, sign board, toilet, bus/taxi station, fence, shelter, lighting column, fountain, telephone-booth, clock-tower, automaton, bicycle stand, playing object etc. In this study street spaces are analysed that is related to regional surroundings and pedestrian's culture. Consequently, design trend of street furniture in foreign case analysis are going into thoroughly modern image as well as checking of form, color, material and maintenance system. According to the above findings, this paper will provide basic data for establishing of the street furniture and improving of public design to the regional citizen, local government officials and regional experts.
