Design and Implementation of Relay File for Superdistribution of the Streaming Contents (스트리밍 콘텐츠의 초유통을 위한 중계파일 설계 및 구현)

  • Illegal reproductions and subsequent copyright infringement have curtailed development of digital content industry. Many DRM systems have been developed and utilized for this purpose. However, current DRM system allow only authorized user to access the contents, and as such, redistribution to other user without getting license again entails cumbersome process. Currently, super-distribution system which can be used for redistribution of downloaded contents in more streamlined fashion is being widely conducted. But for streaming type content, it is still very difficult to redistribute with super-distribution system because the client must directly connect to streaming server to access the content. Accordingly, a new DRM streaming service structure is required to allow streamed contents to be redistributed as easily as the downloaded contents. In this paper, we proposed the relay file structure that can connect the streaming server and the user for super-distribution of the streaming contents.

  • DRM system with streaming scheme has obtained it's priority due to generalized production and distribution of digital contents by development of multimedia device and internet. Previous DRM system with streaming scheme over-burdened the system by encrypting every data of the contents. This paper presents DRM system with new streaming scheme that is able to independently transmit encrypted contents to network protocol and maximize system function by encrypting only certain parts of data. Also, performance is analyzed through designing and implementing the proposed system.

  • For a P2P network, the contents distribution is a very important service because the contents provider is not fixed. And in the P2P media streaming, a request peer replays and saves media data simultaneously, and after streaming it acts as a new source peer providing media files to other peers. Therefore streaming and file saying operations should be simultaneously carried out in order to distribute contents through the P2P network. In this paper, a P2P multi-source media streaming system which can replay the contents data during downloading is proposed and implemented. The system reduces the user response time and the number of simultaneous user increases more than two times. Moreover, transmitting a part of media file makes fast distribution and diffusion of contents possible.

  • Streaming Technology can support the real-time playback without downloading and storing multimedia data in local HDD. So, client browser or plug-in can represent multimedia data before the end of file transmission using streaming technology. Recently, the demand for efficient real-time playback and transmission of large amounts of multimedia data is growing rapidly. But most users' connections over network are not fast and stable enough to download large chunks of multimedia data. In this paper, we propose an intelligent IP streaming system based on personalized media service. The proposed IP streaming system enables users to get an intelligent recommendation of multimedia contents based on the user preference information stored on the streaming server or the home media server. The supposed intelligent IP streaming system consists of Server Metadata Agent, Pumping Server, Contents Storage Server, Client Metadata Agent and Streaming Player. And in order to implement the personalized media service, the user information, user preference information and client device information are managed under database concept. Moreover, users are assured of seamless access of streamed content event if they switch to another client device by implementing streaming system based on user identification and device information. We evaluate our approach with manufacturing home server system and simulation results.

  • Recently, many kinds of TV contents based on multimedia need transmission systems without the saved. In this study, we develop the streaming device and smart app to transmit and play without store for multimedia contents such a broadcasting, internet, VOD, video, and animation. To do this, we compare and analysis main CPU products, broadcasting tuners and interfaces for streaming sources, and memory products. We then design and implement the streaming device which supports 30fps@FHD H.264 decoding and streaming, and multimedia sources with more than three. We develop the software for these requirements. Thissystemis useful to support billing service for multimedia contents.

TCP-ROME: A Transport-Layer Parallel Streaming Protocol for Real-Time Online Multimedia Environments

  • Real-time multimedia streaming over the Internet is rapidly increasing with the popularity of user-created contents, Web 2.0 trends, and P2P (peer-to-peer) delivery support. While many homes today are broadband-enabled, the quality of experience (QoE) of a user is still limited due to frequent interruption of media playout. The vulnerability of TCP (transmission control protocol), the popular transport-layer protocol for streaming in practice, to the packet losses, retransmissions, and timeouts makes it hard to deliver a timely and persistent flow of packets for online multimedia contents. This paper presents TCP-real-time online multimedia environment (ROME), a novel transport-layer framework that allows the establishment and coordination of multiple many-to-one TCP connections. Between one client with multiple home addresses and multiple co-located or distributed servers, TCP-ROME increases the total throughput by aggregating the resources of multiple TCP connections. It also overcomes the bandwidth fluctuations of network bottlenecks by dynamically coordinating the streams of contents from multiple servers and by adapting the streaming rate of all connections to match the bandwidth requirement of the target video.

  • Nowadays, with the rapid spread of streaming services in the internet world, security vulnerabilities are also increasing rapidly. For streaming security, this paper proposes a PN(pseudo-random noise) distributed structure-based security processor for web streaming contents(SP-WSC). The proposed SP-WSC is basically a PN distributed code algorithm designed for web streaming characteristics, so it can secure various multimedia contents. The proposed SP-WSC is independent of the security vulnerability of the web server. Therefore, SP-WSC can work regardless of the vulnerability of the web server. That is, the SP-WSC protects the multimedia contents by increasing the defense against external unauthorized signals. Incidentally it also suggests way to reduce buffering due to traffic overload.

  • With the advance of ICT technology, E-Commerce is getting popular and used widely in daily life. Nowaday's commercial videos are also being used extensively to introduce commercial products to consumers. Most commercial companies are advertising their products on the internet with images and videos through online sharing sites. Putting pre-recorded videos online is easy, but it is difficult for sellers to interact with customers. Live Streaming is the transmission of digital content directly to the Internet in real time. Although there are many services available that provide live streaming on the internet, most are limited in the content they transmit. Building live streaming servers using open source projects will help users master the content which conveys to their customers. In this paper, we will consider implementation of Live Streaming Server for Video Commerce using Open Source.

  • In this paper, we propose a video transmission scheme for exclusive OR based video streaming (XC) that can improve the efficiency of video streaming by using receivers' caches and coding of video data. Contrary to conventional streaming schemes such as multicast where video contents can be transmitted on single channel only when two clients request the same video, the proposed streaming scheme can transmit video contents on single channel conditionally according to the status of the clients' caches even though two clients request different video contents. We analyze the performance of the proposed transmission for XC in terms of the streaming efficiency through extensive computer simulations and compare it with a conventional scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can enhance the streaming efficiency by 21%, compared with the conventional scheme.
