노인의 생활체육활동 참가와 신체적, 정신적 기능상태의 관계 (The Relationships between Sport for All Participation and Physical and Mental Function affecting the Elderly's Self-perceived Health)

  • 이 연구는 노인의 생활체육활동 참가와 신체적, 정신적 기능상태의 관계를 구명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 조사 대상은 2008년 현재 서울지역에 거주하는 만 65세 이상 노인을 모집단으로 설정한 후, 유층집락 무선표집법(systematic stratified cluster random sampling)의 방법을 이용하여 양로원, 노인정, 노인대학 집단 등을 중심으로 표집틀(sampling framework)을 작성한 후, 생활체육참여자 180명, 비참여자 180명 총 360명의 표본을 추출하였다. 독립변인으로는 여가스포츠활동 참가여부와 참가정도(기간, 빈도, 강도)로 분류하였으며, 그리고 종속변인인 신체적 기능상태는 정경희 등(1998), 김양례(2005a)등이 사용한 문항을 토대로 본 연구에 맞게 수정, 보완하여 사용하였다. 정신적 기능상태는 인지기능 척도와 우울척도를 사용하였다. 먼저, 인지기능 척도는 개인이 지능을 이용하여 당면문제를 해결하는 정도로써, 한국판 MMSE-K(Mini Mental State Examination-Korea)를 사용하였으며, 우울증 척도는 Beck(1978)가 개발하고 이영호, 송종용(1991)이 번안한 설문지를 조규황(2003)이 한국 실정에 맞게 수정한 설문지를 본 연구의 목적에 맞게 수정 보완하여 사용하였다. 연구결과의 분석을 통해서 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 노인의 생활체육활동 참가여부에 따라 신체적 정신적 기능상태에 부분적으로 영향을 미친다. 즉, 생활체육활동에 참가하는 노인집단이 참가하지 않는 노인집단보다 일상생활수행능력 인지기능과 우울증 하위변인 중 인지적 신체적 행동적 요인이 높았다. 둘째, 노인의 생활체육 참가정도는 신체적 정신적 기능상태에 부분적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 생활체육 참가정도에 따라서 신체적, 정신적 기능상태의 하위변인인 일상생활수행능력에서는 참가기간, 참가강도가 인지기능에서는 참가기간, 그리고 우울증의 하위변인 중 인지적 정서적 요인에는 참가기간, 참가빈도가 영향을 미쳤고, 신체적 행동적 요인에는 참가기간, 참가빈도, 참가강도 모두 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

도시지역 노인의 치매 위험요인에 관한 단면연구 (Community Based Cross-sectional Study on the Risk Factors of Dementia among the Elderly in a City)

  • Objectives : To identify the risk factors of dementia among the elderly in a large city. Methods : A cross-sectional study was conducted in July 2001, with potential participants selected by stratified two stage cluster sampling of the elderly population of Keumgog dong, Busan. A total of 452 elderly people aged 65 years and over, underwent a two phase diagnostic procedure. Mini-mental State Examination-Korean (MMSE-K) and Samsung Dementia Questionnaire were used for the 1st stage, and the Clinical Dementia Rating Scale (CDR), the Bartel ADL, and IADL Index, the Korean Geriatric Depression Scale (KGDS), the Modified Hatchinski Ischemic Scale (MHIS), and other laboratory tests were used for the 2nd stage. Results : Of the 446 participants finally chosen, 45 were confirmed with dementia, and 363 as normal, with the rests not confirmed with dementia or as normal, were excluded from the analysis. According to the logistic regression analysis, the risk of dementia was significantly higher In: people aged 80 and above (OR=4.36, 95% CI=1.97-9.62), illiterate (OR=3.58, 95% CI=1.71-7.46), who had a history of strokes (OR=6.35, 95% CI=2.71-14.87), or who had 3 history of hyperlipidemia (OR=4.74, 95% CI=1.65-13.61), compared to their counterparts. Conclusions : These results suggest that efforts to prevent strokes and hyperlipidemia can significantly decrease the risk of dementia.

지역교육청 수요자 만족도조사를 위한 표본설계에 관한 연구 (A sample survey design for service satisfaction evaluation of regional education offices)

  • 지역교육청 수요자 만족도조사를 위한 표본설계는 경상남도의 2009년 경남지역교육청 고객만족도 조사의 표본크기에 기초하여 시 군별 지역교육청평가에 맞추어 설계하였다. 대도시의 구단위 지역 교육청과 달리 지방의 시 군 교육청은 학생수와 학교수, 학급당 학생수 등의 변동이 크다. 시간 비용 등을 고려하여 전체 표본크기를 작게 하면서도 각 시 군 교육청 평가에 필요한 최소표본수를 확보하도록 설계하였다. 경상남도는 10개의 시지역과 10개의 군지역을 가지고 있고, 학생수가 상대적으로 작은 군지역교육청 평가에 필요한 최소표본수를 확보하기위해 지역별 평가에 필요한 최소표본을 우선배분한 후, 나머지는 지역별 학급수에 비례배분하였고, 표본학교는 지역과 학교설립유형별로 층화하여 학급수에 비례하여 추출하였다. 표본학교 내에서 조사대상 학생은 2단집락추출하였다. 지역별 추출율의 상이함을 보정하기 위해 가중치를 산정하였다. 조사자료의 분석은 가중치를 적용하여 가중평균, 가중총합 등을 이용하며, 분산의 추정은 통계소프트웨어에서 제공하는 균형반복복제, 잭나이프, 선형화방법 등을 사용할 수 있다.

이단계 군집분석에 의한 농촌관광 편의시설 유형별 소비자 선호 결정요인 (Determinants of Consumer Preference by type of Accommodation: Two Step Cluster Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 농촌관광 방문객에게 제공되는 편의시설을 유형화하고 어떤 특징을 가진 방문객이 어떤 편의시설을 선호하는지를 규명하기 위한 방법과 그 분석결과를 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 우선 2단계 군집분석법을 사용하여 농촌관광 편의시설을 유형화하였다. 그 다음으로 군집분석에 사용되는 변인이 범주형 변인이 있을 경우 전통적인 군집분석 방법을 적용할 수 없기 때문에 2단계 군집분석을 하였다. 본 연구는 2단계 군집분석법이 범주형 변인으로 측정된 농촌관광의 편의시설을 유형화하는 데 매우 유용하다는 것을 보여 주고 있다. 다중로짓 모형을 사용하여 특정 편의시설 유형을 선호할 확률에 영향을 미치는 농촌관광 방문자의 사회인구학적 특성과 여행특성을 규명하였다. 즉, 다중로짓 모형을 통해 참조항(일반농가형)으로 설정된 편의시설 유형에 비해 특정 편의시설을 선호할 확률에 영향을 미치는 소비자의 특성을 규명할 수 있다는 것이 본 연구의 특징이다.

Eating habits and eating behaviors by family dinner frequency in the lower-grade elementary school students

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Recently, there has been an increased interest in the importance of family meals on children's health and nutrition. This study aims to examine if the eating habits and eating behaviors of children are different according to the frequency of family dinners. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The subjects were third-grade students from 70 elementary schools in 17 cities nationwide. A two-stage stratified cluster sampling was employed. The survey questionnaire was composed of items that examined the general characteristics, family meals, eating habits, eating behaviors, and environmental influence on children's eating. The subjects responded to a self-reported questionnaire. Excluding the incomplete responses, the data (n = 3,435) were analyzed using ${\chi}^2$-test or t-test. RESULTS: The group that had more frequent family dinners (${\geq}$ 5 days/week, 63.4%), compared to those that had less (${\leq}$ 4 days/week, 36.6%), showed better eating habits, such as eating meals regularly, performing desirable behaviors during meals, having breakfast frequently, having breakfast with family members (P < 0.001), and not eating only what he or she likes (P < 0.05). Those who had more frequent family dinners also consumed healthy foods with more frequency, including protein foods, dairy products, grains, vegetables, seaweeds (P < 0.001), and fruits (P < 0.01). However, unhealthy eating behaviors (e.g., eating fatty foods, salty foods, sweets, etc.) were not significantly different by the frequency of family dinners. CONCLUSIONS: Having dinner frequently with family members was associated with more desirable eating habits and with healthy eating behaviors in young children. Thus nutrition education might be planned to promote family dinners, by emphasizing the benefits of having family meals on children's health and nutrition and making more opportunities for family meals.

취업과 결혼상태가 남녀의 건강에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Employment and Marital Status on Health Status of Women and Men)

  • There is a widespread concern that women's increasing involvement in dual role (job plus family role) may harm their physical health. Longevity of women is longer than that of men. By contrast, prevalence rate is higher in women than men, and No. of prevalence days, No. of days in bed and No. of days with treatment are more in women. Generally, women live longer, but women are worse in health status than men. Rate of labor participation in women is increasing gradually in Korea. This study presents an analysis of the relationships between employment. marital status and health for both Korean women and men to examine how women's increasing involvements in dual role affect their physical health. The data used in this analysis were collected by The National Statistical Office in the spring of 1992. Households, which were sampled by using a three-stage stratified cluster sampling method, were interviewed. Response rate was 99.43%. Of these, student or widowed or divorced people were excluded. 47,552 women and men aged 21-50 were available for the analysis. Health status was measured by self-assessed health status (1=excellent, 5=poor), No. of prevalent days, No. of days with treatment, and No. of days in bed in two previous weeks. And control variables are age, and education. Research findings are as follows : 1. Men have better self-rated health, fewer prevalent days, fewer days in bed, and fewer days with treatment than women. 2. The employed are more healthier than the non-employed. 3. Unmarried people are more healthier than married people. 4. Interaction effects of sex, marital status, employment are significant. This finding shows that effects of empolyment, marital status on health status is not same for women and men. 5. For male, employed people are more healthier than non-employed people. Unmarried people are more healthier than married people. This differences are significant. For female, The employed are more healthier than the non-employed. However, no differences are noticed between the married and the unmarried in health status. In conclusion, there is no evidence that women's involvements in dual role affect their physical health negatively.

초·중·고등학교 영양교사의 영양교육 실태와 교육 요구도 (Status and Need Assessment on Nutrition & Dietary Life Education among Nutrition Teachers in Elementary, Middle and High Schools)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the status and need for nutrition and dietary life education among nutrition teachers at schools. These characteristics were analyzed if they were different between elementary schools and middle-high schools. Methods: Subjects were 151 nutrition teachers from 70 elementary schools, 41 middle schools and 40 high schools in 17 cities nationwide selected by two-stage stratified cluster sampling process. Survey questionnaires included the items on general characteristics, status and need assessment for nutrition and dietary life education. Chi-square test or t-test was used for data analysis by school groups. Results: Nutrition education was implemented at 65.7% of elementary schools and 51.9% of middle-high schools. Nutrition education was mainly performed in 'discretionary activities extracurricular activities' at elementary school and through 'newsletters, school homepage, foodservice bulletin board' at middle-high school (p<0.001). The most needed topic for nutrition education in nutrition teachers was 'healthy dietary habits and table manners' and this was not significantly different by school groups. Responses on adequate frequency (p<0.01), methods used for nutrition education (p<001), materials for nutrition education (p<0.001), information sources for nutrition education (p<0.001) were significantly different by school groups. Major tasks for activating nutrition education included 'securing the time for implementing nutrition education by reducing work loads' and 'developing standardized nutrition education materials' in schools. Conclusions: Nutrition education at schools might be activated by improving working conditions of nutrition teachers and developing the practical programs that reflect the needs of nutrition teachers.

Eating habits, physical activity, nutrition knowledge, and self-efficacy by obesity status in upper-grade elementary school students

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Childhood obesity has increased in recent decades in Korea. This study was designed to examine differences in the eating habits, physical activity (PA), nutrition knowledge, and self-efficacy of children by obesity status. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Subjects were 5th-grade children from 70 elementary schools in 17 cities nationwide. Two-stage stratified cluster sampling was employed. Survey questionnaire included items related to general characteristics, eating habits, PA, nutrition knowledge and self-efficacy. Excluding incomplete responses, 3,531 data were analyzed using SPSS. Subjects were categorized into overweight obesity (OW) and normal weight (NW) groups based on body mass index percentiles for age by sex. RESULTS: A total of 21.5% of subjects was overweight or obese. There were significant differences in gender, perceived stress, perception of body shape, body satisfaction, and interest in weight control between the OW and NW groups (P < 0.001). With respect to eating habits, the OW group ate breakfast (P < 0.05) and snacks (P < 0.01) less frequently, ate bigger meals (P < 0.001), and demonstrated less desirable behaviors during meals (P < 0.05 in boys) compared to the NW group. The OW group participated in less PA than the NW group, especially boys. OW boys spent less time walking during weekdays (P < 0.05) or the weekend (P < 0.001), spent more time being sedentary during weekdays or the weekend (P < 0.001), and exercised a fewer number of days (P < 0.01). For girls, the OW group spent more time being sedentary during the weekend (P < 0.01) and exercised a fewer number of days by walking or bicycle riding (P < 0.05) than the NW group. Nutrition knowledge was not significantly different between the OW and NW groups. Self-efficacy (P < 0.01 in boys), especially PA self-efficacy (P < 0.01), was significantly lower in the OW than NW group. CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed differences in eating habits, PA, and self-efficacy between OW and NW children. Obesity management programs for children need to focus on increasing self-efficacy, modifying eating habits, and increasing PA.

뇌졸중에 영향을 미치는 위험요인 : 국민건강영양조사 제7기(2016-2018) 자료를 활용하여 (Risk Factors Influencing Stroke : using data from the 7th(2016-2018) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 뇌졸중에 영향을 미치는 위험요인을 파악 하고자 한다. 연구방법은 국민건강영양조사 제7기(2016-2018) 자료를 활용하여 2단계 층화집락표본추출방법을 사용하였다. 연구대상자는 만 19세이상 성인을 대상으로 복합표본 교차분석 및 복합표본 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 일반적특성및 질환특성과 뇌졸중과의 차이검정 결과 연령대(p<.001), 주관적건강상태(p<.001), 현재흡연(p=0.003), BMI(p=0.005), 고혈압진단(p<.001), 당뇨병진단(p<.001), 이상지질형증진단(p<.001)에 따른 뇌졸중 진단유무와의 차이검정은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 뇌졸중에 영향하는 위험요인으로는 70세이상에서 오즈비가 8.861배, 주관적건강상태가 나쁜그룹에서 오즈비가 4.501배, 고혈압진단을 받은 그룹에서 오즈비가 3.158배, 당뇨병진단을 받은 그룹에서 오즈비가 1.598배 더 높게 나타났다. 뇌졸중은 위험한 만큼 예방을 통해서 관리를 할 수 있으므로 고혈압이나 당뇨병과 같은 만성질환과 노인들의 건강에 대한 관리가 중요함이 연구결과를 통해서 나타났다.
