  • This paper presents an evolvable cooperation strategy based on a genetic programming for the interactive robot soccer game. The interactive robot soccer game has been developed to allow a person to join in the game dynamically and to reinforce entertainment characteristics. In this game, a cooperation strategy between humans and autonomous robots is very important in order to make the game more enjoyable.   • The pH neutralization process has long been taken as a representative benchmark problem of nonlinear chemical process control due to its nonlinearity and time-varying nature. For general nonlinear processes, it is difficult to control with a linear model-based control method so nonlinear controls must be considered. Among the numerous approaches suggested, the most rigorous approach is the dynamic optimization. However, as the size of the problem grows, the dynamic programming approach is suffered from the curse of dimensionality. In order to avoid this problem, the Neuro-Dynamic Programming (NDP) approach was proposed by Bertsekas and Tsitsiklis (1996). The NDP approach is to utilize all the data collected to generate an approximation of optimal cost-to-go function which was used to find the optimal input movement in real time control. The approximation could be any type of function such as polynomials, neural networks and etc. In this study, an algorithm using NDP approach was applied to a pH neutralization process to investigate the feasibility of the NDP algorithm and to deepen the understanding of the basic characteristics of this algorithm. As the global approximator, the neural network which requires training and k-nearest neighbor method which requires querying instead of training are investigated. The global approximator requires optimal control strategy. If the optimal control strategy is not available, suboptimal control strategy can be used even though the laborious Bellman iterations are necessary. For pH neutralization process it is rather easy to devise an optimal control strategy. Thus, we used an optimal control strategy and did not perform the Bellman iteration. Also, the effects of constraints on control moves are studied. From the simulations, the NDP method outperforms the conventional PID control.

  • Many researches indicate that programming learning could help improve problem solving skills through algorithmic thinking. But in general, programming learning has been focused on programming language features and it also gave a heavy cognitive load to learners. Therefore, this paper proposes a programming activity process to improve novice programming learners' algorithmic thinking efficiently. An experiment was performed to measure the effectiveness of the proposed programming activity process. After the experiment, the learners' perception on programming was shown to be changed, to effective activity in improving problem solving.

Two Stage Hybrid Optimization을 사용한 ESS 최적 운전 전략에 대한 연구 (A Study on ESS Optimal Operation Strategy Using Two Stage Hybrid Optimization)

  • This paper presents an analysis and the methodology of optimal operation strategy of the ESS(Energy Storage System) for reduce electricity charges. Electricity charges consist of a basic charge based on the contract capacity and energy charge according to the power usage. In order to use electrical energy at minimal charge, these two factors are required to be reduced at the same time. QP(Quadratic Programming) is appropriate for minimization of the basic charge and LP(Linear Programmin) is adequate to minimize the energy charge. However, the integer variable have to be introduced for modelling of different charge and discharge efficiency of ESS PCS(Power Conversion System), where MILP(Mixed Integer Linear Programming) can be used. In this case, the extent to which the peak load savings is accomplished should be assumed before the energy charge is minimized. So, to minimize the electricity charge exactly, optimization is sequentially performed in this paper, so-called the Two Stage Hybird optimization, where the extent to which the peak load savings is firstly accomplished through optimization of basic charge and then the optimization of energy charge is performed with different charge and discharge efficiency of ESS PCS. Finally, the proposed method is analyzed quantitatively with other optimization methods.

  • 본 연구에서는 성찰저널과 피드백을 적용한 PBL 기반의 피지컬 컴퓨팅 프로그래밍을 적용한 교수 학습 전략을 개발하고 효과성을 검증하였다. 분석을 위해 초등학교 5학년 학생 91명을 대상으로 실험집단과 통제집단으로 구분하여 18차시 학습 내용을 6주간 적용하였다. 그 결과 논리적 사고력에서 유의한 차이를 보여 PBL을 적용한 피지컬 컴퓨팅 기반의 프로그래밍 학습이 논리적 사고력 향상에 효과가 있음이 증명되었다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 피지컬 컴퓨팅 기반의 프로그래밍 학습 효과를 높일 수 있는 정교한 교수 학습 전략을 개발하고 이에 대한 적용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Since a convergence strategy in interactive procedure is the origin of a lot of the restrictions and inconvenience of many methods, a new flexible convergence strategy is necessary for developing that is applicable for interactive MOLP as well as interactive multiple objective integer programming(MOIP). A method for computing the volume of the interval defined subsets of weighting vector space is developed using Sobol's LP$_{i}$, Generator. Since the interactive procedure requires a number of iterations, with a fixed number of solutions presented per iteration, a convergence strategy is needed to control the rate at which the interactive procedure converges to a final solution. Thus, in this paper, a new convergency strategy is developed.

Demand-based charging strategy for wireless rechargeable sensor networks

  • A wireless power transfer technique can solve the power capacity problem in wireless rechargeable sensor networks (WRSNs). The charging strategy is a wide-spread research problem. In this paper, we propose a demand-based charging strategy (DBCS) for WRSNs. We improved the charging programming in four ways: clustering method, selecting to-be-charged nodes, charging path, and charging schedule. First, we proposed a multipoint improved K-means (MIKmeans) clustering algorithm to balance the energy consumption, which can group nodes based on location, residual energy, and historical contribution. Second, the dynamic selection algorithm for charging nodes (DSACN) was proposed to select on-demand charging nodes. Third, we designed simulated annealing based on performance and efficiency (SABPE) to optimize the charging path for a mobile charging vehicle (MCV) and reduce the charging time. Last, we proposed the DBCS to enhance the efficiency of the MCV. Simulations reveal that the strategy can achieve better performance in terms of reducing the charging path, thus increasing communication effectiveness and residual energy utility.

  • 많은 지역개발 관련 정책결정자들이 클러스터 이론과 분석을 지역경제개발을 위한 일반적인 어프로치로 이해하는 경우가 많다. 이러한 관점은 흔히 정책결정자들로 하여금 실제 자신들의 지역이 처한 고유한 환경과 도전을 무시한 일률적인 정책 개입을 야기시킨다. 본 연구는 지역개발 정책에 있어 이론 뿐 아니라 경험과 직관, 분석 등을 종합적으로 중시하는 전략기획의 중요성에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 클러스터 이론과 분석은 이러한 전략기획의 과정에서 유용한 정보를 제공한다. 그러나 이것이 전략기획 과정을 아우르는 유일한 프레임이 되어서는 안된다는 점을 유념할 필요가 있다.

부산시 대기오염방지를 위한 수리계획법 (Mathematical Programming for Air Pollution Control in Pusan)

  • This study was performed to find the most desirable emission reduction for each mobile source pollutant and the optimal control strategy at a given level of expenditures in Pusan City in 2000 by using the interactive s-constraint method developed by Chang-Hyo Lee and Hyung-Wook Kim, which isone of the mathematical programming models. The most desirable emission reduction is 7093 ton/year for particulate (TSP), 4871 ton/year for NOx, 5148 ton/year for HC and 36779 ton/year for CO. The optimal control strategy is as follows; 1. As to passenger car and taxi, limiting VKT (vehicle kilometers travelled) in congested areas will be necessary. In addition to this, improving vehicie inspection Program should be enforced. 2. As to small-gasoline bus, traffic adaptive control system will be necessary. 3. As to small-diesel bus, non-adjustable engine parameters will have to be applied. .4. As to heal bus and heart truck, catalytic trap oxidizer and limiting VKT in congested areas will do necessary. 5. As to motorcycle, 2-cycle motorcycles should be converted to 4-cycle motorcycles.
