An Empirical Study on Situational Factor of ERP Introduction

  • In today's dynamic and turbulent business environment, in order to become globally competitive, many companies are trying to get closer to the customer and deliver value added product and services in the shortest possible time which demands integration of business processes of an enterprise, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is such a strategic tool, which helps the company to gain competitive edge by integrating all business processes and optimizing the resources available. This paper throws light on how ERP evolved, what makes up an ERP system and what it has to offer to the industries. The paper includes the role of ERP, perception of ERP value, ERP plan and direction. The author also argues checkpoints as a preview to ERP introduction.

The Influence of Verbal Aggression on Job Involvement and Turnover Intention in Organizational System

  • In modern business organization, the most important strategic factor in maintaining competitive advantage in business is to manage and utilize human resources effectively, which has eventually increased workload and psychological pressure in organizations. And research show that increased workload and psychological pressure has produced various tensions in business organizations, and it appears that those tensions have increased the workplace aggressive behavior among employees. In various types of aggressive behavior, this study focuses on verbal aggression. The study also attempts to find out the relationships among verbal aggression, job involvement, and turnover intention among administrative workers in colleges from May 20 to May 26, 2015. Summary of the research result is as follows. First of all, the study shows that verbal aggression directly increases the employee turnover intention.

  • The growth and survival of a enterprise depend upon its proper strategic capability against the rapid change in environment. The enterprise that well accommodates the changing environment and properly uses the resources will continue its growth. The problems in accommodating business environment are how to focus the limited manufacturing strategy on certain point. The manufacturing innovation program receives a large effect in the manufacturing strategy. Consequently it follows the degree with manufacturing innovation program agrees with the manufacturing strategy determine the maximization of the manufacturing and management performance.

  • Demand Side Management (DSM) activities have been designed to encourage customers to modify their patterns of electricity consumption including the timing and level of electricity demand. The role of DSM has been more and more important in the point of social energy utilization on the limited resources. The objectives of DSM are generally related to load reductions and generation cost savings. This paper presents an approach to B/C analysis to evaluate the impact of DSM programs especially on the strategic conservation and the load management programs. The proposed approach embedding the existing B/C analyses is applicable to the new electricity market. Case studies show the B/C ratio and the avoided cost due to the impact of DSM programs.

  • The study proved the fitness between competitive strategy and service operation strategy of service companies. The competitive strategy of a corporation is a major strategy playing the role of bridge linking both corporate strategy and functional strategy. And it is a choice of method how to win competitors in given area. There have been such a specific methodologies for acquiring competitive advantage as Porters competitive strategy, Miles and Snows adaptive strategy, and Life cycle strategy. But, many scholars have pointed that its more important for high corporate performance to determine the competitive strategy of a corporation fitting the external environment and internal structure. So its needed for successful cost-leadership or differentiation strategy to differentiate organizational function, resources, and various organizational factors. But there have been no methodologies or practical guidelines fitting competitive strategy, corporate structure, and external environment in sprite do service corporations growth. So, the study proved the fitness between competitive strategy and service operation structure in Airlines after selecting service structural elements necessary for strategic management.

  • Recently, leading edge companies use the Supply Chain Management as a competitive weapon to secure and maintain customer loyalty. As a consequence, they are concentrating resources on the company's core business and employing strategic alliances with third-party providers to ensure the company provides its customers' desired logistics service levels at acceptable costs. Under this circumstances, this paper surveys the third party logistics as a loading edge logistics industry coping with the progress of the supply chain management. The status and the type of the TPL including the Forwarder are analyzed in the view point of global logistics. Also, the development strategy of third party logistics in the future is suggested.

  • 해안의 침식저감은 해안보전 정책 중에서 가장 중요한 목표가 되고 있다. 하지만, 침식을 야기하는 요인의 다양성과 결과예측의 어려움 등으로 인하여 기존공법의 유효성에 많은 의문이 있다. 이러한 대응효과의 불확실성을 극복하는 하나의 방법으로서 해안모래의 사정에 따라 그때그때 조치하는 유연한 대응을 생각할 수 있는데 이러한 관리형 대응을 실현하기 위해서는 만족할 만한 핵심요소 기술이 필요하다. 최근 들어 구조형식이 간단하면서 경제적인 투과성 철재형 이안제가 개발되었다. 본 해안침식저감용 기술은 파랑제어가 수평판으로 가능하고 착탈식이며 이동이 간단하다. 이러한 특징을 활용하면 해안의 사정에 따라 관리할 수 있는 전략적 해안보전이 가능해 질 수 있다. 특히 본 구조물은 평균해수면 상승에 대해서도 추가비용이 거의 발생하지 않으므로 범용적 활용을 기대할 수 있어서 빠른 기술축척을 기대할 수 있다. 본 연구는 전략적 해안 보전 정책을 수행하기 위한 핵심요소기술의 적용성에 대하여 고찰하였다. 연구결과, 해안의 침 퇴적 사정에 따라 그때그때 파에너지의 투과율을 가변화시킴으로서 해안보호를 경제적으로 할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • The importance of intellectual property is increasing in the knowledge and information era. An organization that embraces technology and strategy is faced with promising opportunities and managerial difficulties. Forecasting the performance of technology and the underlying costs to achieve such performance is even more difficult than before. Those organizations that employ technology as part of their strategic arsenal know that they are running serious risks, which clearly increases the uncertainty of organizational performance. Therefore forecasting the performance of technology is a difficult task since technology has been characterized by intangible and tacit factors and traded in a supplier's market. The decision makers usually face a complex system of interrelated components, such as resources, desired outcomes or objectives. This study intends to evaluate the contribution of technology in intangible assets by the Analytic Hierarchy Process.

The Structure Model of Service Performance Influence in Knowledge Based Service Business

  • This study is attempted to demonstrate the structure of the influencing factors on the performance of services of knowledge based service firms. In the model presented, the structure is that service performance in knowledge-based services are affected by the strategic utilization of knowledge resources and service orientation factors of the service organization. And the service performance are also affected in which the systemization of service processes and customer satisfaction play a mediating role. As an analysis result of examining 148 practitioners engaged in the knowledge service industry, it is necessary to increase the satisfaction of external customers in order to improve service performance in a knowledge-based service organizations. This can be achieved by increasing the satisfaction of internal customers. In addition, for this structure to be successful, the service production process to be provided to the customer must be enhanced. The service production process has been found to be an important factor influencing the internal customer satisfaction and service delivery process, especially in the use of knowledge resource, and customer oriented service among service orientation factors.

Identifying Barriers to Big Data Analytics: Design-Reality Gap Analysis in Saudi Higher Education

  • The spread of cloud computing, digital computing, and the popular social media platforms have led to increased growth of data. That growth of data results in what is known as big data (BD), which seen as one of the most strategic resources. The analysis of these BD has allowed generating value from massive raw data that helps in making effective decisions and providing quality of service. With Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia seeks to invest in BD technologies, but many challenges and barriers have led to delays in adopting BD. This research paper aims to search in the state of Big Data Analytics (BDA) in Saudi higher education sector, identify the barriers by reviewing the literature, and then to apply the design-reality gap model to assess these barriers that prevent effective use of big data and highlights priority areas for action to accelerate the application of BD to comply with Vision 2030.
