  • In this paper strategic planning is applied for effective management to improve hospital income. Though community hospital has been set up for improving the health status of community, it must be trying to increase income for continuing with referral hospital in the community. The most useful tool of management to do this purpose is thought of strategic planning. Therefore this paper developed strategic planning a typical community hospital, which for it presenting the strategic planning process and developing the simulation model for evaluation of strategic alternatives. In the result it is represented that admission rate is the most sensitive to hospital operating income among the important variables in the model. And simulation by changing the parameter could estimate the yearly hospital income in the response of alternatives. This strategic planning simulation model has had constraints as number of date but also significance such as evaluating the alternatives by quantitative model and at first applying the hospital in our country.

  • A bid-based pool(BBP) model is representative of energy market structure in a number of restructured electricity markets. Supply function equilibrium(SFE) models of interaction better match what is explicitly required in the bid formats of typical BBP markets. Many of the results in the SFE literature involve restrictive parametrization of the bid cost functions. In the SFE models, two parameters, intercept and slope, are available for strategic bidding. This paper addresses the realistic competition format that players can choose both parameters arbitrarily. In a fixed demand function, equilibrium conditions for generation company's profit maximization have a degree of freedom, which induces multi-equilibrium. So it is hard to choose a convergent equilibrium. However, consideration of stochastic demand function makes the equilibrium conditions independent each other based on the amount of variance of stochastic demand function. This variance provides the bidding players with incentives to change the slope parameter from an equilibrium for a fixed demand function until the slope parameter equilibrium.

  • The present multidisciplinary study, which is a nexus of engineering and political science, investigates how the modernization of Non-Strategic Nuclear Weapons (NSNWs) affects the IAEA safeguards system based on the likelihood of the use of nuclear weapons. To this end, this study examines the characteristics of modernized NSNWs using Monte Carlo techniques. The results thus obtained show that 10 kt NSNWs with a Circular Error Probability (CEP) of 10 m can destroy the target as effectively as a 500 kt weapon with a CEP of 100 m. The IAEA safeguards system shows that the Significant Quantity (SQ) of 1 of plutonium is 8 kg, a parameter that was established when strategic nuclear weapons were dominant. However, the results of this study indicate that in recent years, low-yield nuclear weapons such as NSNWs have been more strategically interesting than strategic nuclear weapons as NSNWs require less plutonium than strategic nuclear weapons. Therefore, we would like to conclude that reducing the SQ of plutonium can result in more robust safeguards and non-proliferation strategies.

  • Purpose - This study integrates a corporate competition system with a bird predation system to examine how organizational strategic adjustment capacity influences firm performance. By proving the prominent effects on performance, a financial vector is constructed to represent corporate strategic adjustment results, and an operation capacity vector is constructed, which can be categorized as a parameter for locating birds. All these works help us to propose a new method of investment, the portfolio decision model based on the strategic adjustment capacity. Research design, data, and methodology - Strategic adjustment capacity can be decomposed into three aspects: the organizational learning capacity from the top firms, the extent to which firms maintainor rely on the best operational capacity vector in history, and the ability to eliminate the disadvantages or retain the advantages of the operation capacity vector from the previous year. The method of solving cyclic equations is designed to evaluate strategic adjustment. Firms manufacturing specialized equipment are chosen to test the effects of the strategic adjustment capacity on three aspects of firm performance. Results - There is a positive correlation between the capacity to learn from the best firms and performance improvement. The relationship between the dependence or maintenance of a firm's advantages and performance improvement is a U-shape curve, and there is no significant effect of inertial control on performance improvement. Conclusions - A firm's competition system is a sophisticated adaptation, and competitive advantage and performance can be investigated based on the principles of competition in nature.

A sample of 188 persons was extracted using the SPSS 18.0 program as a significant sampling method for the security worker. Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted according to the purpose of the data, and the following conclusions were drawn. First, strategic human resource management has a significant effect on job stress. Second, strategic human resource management has a significant impact on occupation. Third, job stress had a significant effect on occupation commitment. That is, two factors of strategic human resource management and job stress play a decisive role in occupation commitment, and job stress plays an important role as a parameter. In conclusion, if we select the factors of strategic human resource management needed for each organization and develop new methods and competitiveness, it will be very helpful for qualitative growth of security industry.

  • As deregulation of power industry is becoming a reality, there has been an intense interest in the strategic bidding for suppliers to maximize their profits. The profit gained by a supplier is related not only to its energy-price bid curve but also to its submitted operational parameters such as generation capacity, etc. So suppliers are willing to use those strategic parameters that can be manipulated by themselves and are effective to their profit. This paper deals with the competition model with compound strategies: generation capacity and bidding curve. The parameter space is modeled by dividing into the two strategies, so the problem is made up of the four types of sub-game in a two player game. This paper analyzes the global Nash Equilibrium (NE) over the whole divisions by computing the sub-game NEs in some divisions and by deriving the best response curves which have discontinuities in other divisions. The global NE is shown to correspond to the Cournot NE where the quantity variable is realized by a constraints of a generation capacity.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to estimate camera extrinsic parameter based on projective and permutation invariance point features. Because feature informations in previous research is variant to c.:men viewpoint, extraction of correspondent point is difficult. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the extracting method of invariant point features, and new matching method using similarity evaluation function and Graham search method for reducing time complexity and finding correspondent points accurately. In the calculation of camera extrinsic parameter stage, we also propose two-stage motion parameter estimation method for enhancing convergent degree of LM algorithm. In the experiment, we compare and analyse the proposed method with existing method by using various indoor images to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithms.

  • The technologies of Ni/Cu plating contact is attributed to the reduced series resistance caused by a better contact conductivity of Ni with Si and the subsequent electroplating of Cu on Ni. The ability to pattern narrower grid lines for reduced light shading was combined with the lower resistance of a metal silicide contact and an improved conductivity of the plated deposit. This improves the FF (fill factor) as the series resistance is reduced. This is very much requried in the case of low concentrator solar cells in which the series resistance is one of the important and dominant parameter that affect the cell performance. A Selective emitter structure with highly dopeds regions underneath the metal contacts, is widely known to be one of the most promising high-efficiency solution in solar cell processing In this paper the formation of a selective emitter, and the nickel silicide seed layer at the front side metallization of silicon cells is considered. After generating the nickel seed layer the contacts were thickened by Cu LIP (light induced plating) and by the formation of a plated Ni/Cu two step metallization on front contacts. In fabricating a Ni/Cu plating metallization cell with a selective emitter structure it has been shown that the cell efficiency can be increased by at least 0.2%.

  • In this study, small and medium-sized manufacturing and distribution businesses were asked to demonstrate how the risks that could arise from implementing ITOs affect their performance. Small and medium-sized enterprises that want to reduce costs or secure competitiveness through outsourcing ITO conducted research to identify and analyze risks of ITO and improve corporate performance. Strategic, technical, and financial risks were selected as independent variables for analysis by the survey method. In addition, relationship risk was selected as a parameter and corporate performance was selected as a dependent variable to conduct a path analysis. The analysis showed that the variables injected as independent variables had indirect and total effects on corporate performance. This can be interpreted as the higher the level of awareness of strategic and technological risks and financial risks, the higher the level of relational risk, and thus the positive impact on corporate performance. We expect to improve corporate performance through analysis of more and more risk factors in the future.

  • The resource-based view (RBV) explains that the competitive advantage is mainly based on the resources which have strategic characteristics. Therefore, finding, developing and maintaining strategically valuable resources has been one of main research topics and a starting point in the corporate strategy structure in RBV. In this regards, attempts to recognize strategically valuable resources have been one of crucial issues in RBV researches. Especially, Barney's VRIO has been widely used as a practical tool for finding strategically valuable resources. However, empirical studies on VRIO framework's effectiveness have not been sufficiently implemented, and there has been no proven relation among the components of the VRIO so far. This is mainly because the concepts or definitions on core components of the VRIO - Value, Rareness, Inimitability, and Organization - are too comprehensively explained and measurements of each component cannot be easily quantified. Considering these, this paper presents empirical results of the relation between VRIO components and competitive advantage, and tests effectiveness of VRIO Framework with utilizing sufficient technology evaluation cases and financial statements of 2,252 technology based SMEs in Korea. As a result, the components of the VRIO have a positive influence on competitive advantage. The attributes of strategic resources - Value, Rareness, and Inimitability - have a statistically meaningful positive effect on organization, while organization has a positive effect on the competitive advantage serving as a parameter between the attributes of strategic resources and competitive advantage.
