전략적 네트워크에서 사회적 자본과 성과의 인과 관계에 관한 탐색적 연구: 시스템 사고를 통한 분석 (Exploratory Study of Causal Relationship between Social Capital and Performance on Strategic Networks: Systems Thinking Analysis)

  • The purpose of this paper is to explore causal relationship between social capital and firm's performance using systems thinking analysis. In strategic networks, the relationship between the members is an important factor affecting the performance. For this reason, we study relationship between social capital and firm's performance on strategic networks. The results show: Firstly, as presented in the existing research, trust and performance are positive relationship(+) and verify the entire system on strategic networks. Secondly, due to exclusiveness and embeddedness of social capital, there is nonlinear relationship between social capital and the firm's performance. Thirdly, the key factor of firm's performance on strategic networks verify relationship dependency and trust.

전략네트워크에서 발생하는 학습패턴에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on The Pattern of Interactive Learning in Strategic Networks)

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the pattern of interactive learning in strategic networks. Interactive learning is defined as the exchange and sharing of knowledge resources conducive to innovation between an innovator firm, its suppliers, and/or its customers. The strength of internal knowledge resources can either hamper or facilitate levels of interactive learning. We assume that more complex innovative activities urge firms to co-ordinate and exchange information between users and producers, which implies a higher level of interactive learning. To test our theoretical claims, we estimated the level of interactive learning of firms in strategic networks with: (1) their customers, (2) their suppliers. Theses analyses allow a comparison of the antecedents of interactive learning of firms participating in strategic networks. Our findings suggest that interactive learning with customers is positively affected by company's capabilities and value-created activities, and with supplies is positively affected by value-created activities and technology innovation centers.

Qualitative Simulation on the Dynamics between Social Capital and Business Performance in Strategic Networks

  • Purpose - This study develops a simulation model that looks at the dynamics between social capital and business performance in strategic networks to understand their behaviors in relation to each other, and to suggest dynamic relationship strategies. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on existing literature, this study identifies the complex causal loop diagram on social capital and business performance in strategic networks, and converts them into a simulation model for observing how the changes in business environment and relationship dependency affect social capital and business performance. Results - The simulation results showed that, first, the formation in social capital and business performance of networks with low relationship dependency was less affected by the changes in business environment. Second, the formation in social capital and business performance of networks with high relationship dependency was negatively impacted by the changes in business environment. In other words, higher relationship dependency strengthened the impact of changes in business environment on business performance. Conclusions - Thus, this study confirmed that in strategic networks, the changes in business environment and the degree of relationship dependency dynamically affect business performance, and that relationship dependency mediates the degree in which changes in the business environment affect business performance. The results of the simulations were further verified through actual business cases.

국내건설기업의 제휴네트워크 : 네트워크 구조와 성과 (Strategic Alliance Networks in Korean Construction Industry: Network Structure and Performance of Firms)

  • 전략적 제휴를 통해 형성되는 기업 간의 네트워크는 정보, 자원, 지식이 공유되고 확산되는 경로이자 새로운 자원으로서, 제휴네트워크의 구조적 특성은 기업의 성과에 영향을 미치고 있으므로 전략경영의 중요한 연구대상이 되었다. 본 연구는 건설기업간의 제휴네트워크를 대상으로 중앙성, 결속성, 등위성, 무척도성 등과 같은 구조적 특성을 분석하고, 이러한 특성이 성과에 미치는 영향을 확인한다. 연구 결과 건설기업 간의 제휴네트워크는 대부분의 기업이 상호 연결된 거대한 집단구조임과 동시에 일부의 허브 기업이 전체 제휴의 대다수를 차지하고 있음을 발견히였다. 그리고 네트워크에 포함된 기업을 5개의 역할 집단으로 분류할 수 있었으며, 상위집단의 경쟁과 협력 구도를 파악하였다. 또한 척도 없는 네트워크의 속성이 존재하여 제휴의 양극화가 진행 중임을 확인하였다. 최근 10년간의 네트워크에 대한 실증적 분석을 통해 참여한 프로젝트가 많고 네트워크에서 중심에 있는 기업의 성과가 지속적으로 높음을 검증하였다. 제휴를 통해 형성되는 네트워크에서 기업이 자리 매김(embedding)하는 미시적 행태와 네트워크의 거시적, 구조적인 속성은 참여한 기업에게 편익과 제약을 동시에 제공하고 있다. 이제 기업의 전략방향과 일치하는 네트워크전략의 수립과 포지셔닝 및 네트워크자원의 관리는 새로운 중요한 전략적 과제이다.

  • This paper proposes a synergism of neural networks (NN) and knowledge-based decision support system (KBDSS) to effectively design an intelligent strategic planning system. Since conventional KBDSS becomes inoperative partially or totally when problem deviates slightly from the expected problem-domain, a new DSS concept is needed for designing an effective strategic planning system, where strategic planning environment is usually turbulent and consistently changing. In line with this idea, this paper developes a NN-based DSS, named ConDSS, incorporating the generalization property of NN into its knowledge base. The proposed ConDSS was extensively operated in an experimentally designed environment with three models: BCG matrix, Growth/Gain matrix, and GE matrix. The results proved very promising when encountered with unforeseen situations in comparisons with conventional KBDSS.

  • Social network is one of the representative analytical method of the complexity theory and this research analyzed various and unique strategic alliance model of e-business domain using social network technique. A lot of small and medium firms of e-business field had developed many useful type of strategic alliances for the firms tried to maximize the effect of advertisement, marketing and to make up for their weak points and to compete with huge company with capital strength long before. But it is too rare to analyze the structure of the firm networks and to study the evolution and extension of business model considered the role of each company in the network. Social network analysis helps each firm's network easily visualized and completely modelized. Additionally, this paper cries to analyze the relationship between the role of hub and broke in the firm networks for strategic alliance, and financial performance. We demonstrate the firm with finer business model to the business environment can make higher financial performance. This implies that the firm that can create new finer business model, will lead the network of e-business firms and evolve the industry of e-business.

창업자의 전략적 지향성과 사회적 자본의 역할 (The Role of Strategic Orientation and Social Capital of Founders in the Performance of Korean Startups)

  • 본 연구는 창업자의 전략적 지향성과 사회적 자본이 창업기업의 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 전략적 지향성은 기업가적 지향성, 시장 지향성, 기술 지향성으로 구분하고 사회적 자본은 외부 네트워크의 지원과 창업팀에 대한 신뢰 및 응집력으로 정의하여 그 효과를 실증하였다. 또 사회적 자본이 전략적 지향성의 효과를 조절하는 조절효과가 있는지도 살펴보았다. 설립 5년 미만의 79개 스타트업을 대상으로한 실증분석에서, 기술 지향성만이 창업성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 자본은 모두 창업성과에 유의한 효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 그 조절효과는 부분적으로 검증되었다. 본 연구결과는 증거 중심의 스타트업 지원책을 수립하는데 공헌할 것으로 기대된다.

가상기업의 성과요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influence Factors for Virtual Enterprise)

  • Globalization changes in market structures and consumer needs, as well as technology innovations force organizations to adopt new structures and collaborative networks to cope with rapidly changing environments. These Collaborative Networks are based on the Idea of virtual enterprise. A virtual enterprise(VE) is a temporary alliance of globally distributed independent enterprises that share core competencies and computer networks. This paper presents a proposal for a methodology to measure a key factor of success and risk First of all, we chose thirty experts' defines on virtual enterprise, fifteen are academic specialist and other fifteen are from industry. For this study we define twenty two factors determining VE's success and seventeen factors determining VE's risk using by Delphi method. And we built the influence model on virtual enterprise. A research model was established according to preceeding research and consensus on experts then the revised model of key factors on virtual enterprise. This survey was based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). AHP is an approach to decision making that involves structuring multiple choice criteria into a hierarchy, the assessing the relative important of these criteria, comparing alternative for each criteria, and determining an overall ranking of the alternatives. A model was constructed as 3 level hierarchy. The hierarches are organizational, strategic, technical criteria. for success model on VE has 22 factors and 17 factors for risk model. They are selected by all 30 experts. 14 copies among 30 copies distributed to carry out on the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Consistency ratio confirm high validity and reliability of instrument and support theoretical model. The results of this study are summarized as follows. (1) This study presented success on VE influenced strategic criteria, and essential factor is Creating a value. Risk on VE influenced strategic criteria, and essential factor is Outcome/Distribution. (2) Its enable that ranking the criteria influence on VE. These are supported VE management and using guideline of VE.

동북아 피더네트워크의 Win-win전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Win-win Strategy on Northeast Asian Feeder Network)

  • 최근 중국은 산항을 개장하여 선사 유치를 위한 다양한 혜택을 제공하고, 일본은 '수퍼중추항만 육성계획'을 세워 항만의 효율성을 바탕으로 비용을 낮추려는 노력을 하고 있다. 또한 선박의 대형화에 의한 중심항만(Hub Port) 위주의 기항과 북중국의 대향 물량 발생지역에 대한 직기항 경향으로 동북아 항만간의 경쟁이 더욱더 치열해 지고 있으며 동북아 역내 피더네트워크 강화의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 유럽 피더네트워크 전략 사례를 바탕으로 동북아 피더시장 현황을 파악하고 동북아 피더네트워크 구조를 분석함으로써 동북아 역내 항만 및 선사간의 과당경쟁을 지양하고 서로 Win-Win할 수 있는 터미널의 전략적 활용, 선사간 제휴 확대, 항만간 협력 강화를 위한 구체적인 전략을 제시하였다.
