연속압입시험에 의한 발전소용 배관의 용접잔류응력 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Welding Residual Stress of Pipe used in Power Plant by Indentation Method)

  • In this study, to verify the reliability of the indentation for measuring welding residual stresses to get in method we compared the results of the method with those measured by the saw cutting method. Also for the same purpose we used a 4-point bending test and confirmed the reliability of indentation method. The specimens used in this experiment are made with the same conditions for hot reheater pipes and cold reheater pipes used in the electric power plant. Therefore we could know that the results of the methods showed the reliability of the method to obtain welding residual stresses.

  • Researches on the FRF-based substructuring method have been mainly focused on vibratory response analysis. Present study Is concerned about the application of the method to the dynamic stress analysis of a air-conditioner compressor mounting bracket in a passenger car. This is performed by using reaction forces that can be obtained by the FRF-based substructuring method. The air-conditioner system, composed of a compressor and bracket, Is analyzed by using the FRF-based substructuring method. The experimental and numerical FRFs are combined to calculate the system responses and reaction forces at the connection point. The dynamic reaction forces plugged into the bracket FE model to compute the stresses of the bracket Dynamic strains by the present method are compared with those from strain-gage test for bracket system on shaker. The comparison shows possibility of practical usage of the method for the real problem

  • In this paper, the tension-compression fatigue test method and the fatigue life characteristics of carbon fabric/epoxy laminate coupon are presented. To avoid the buckling during the compression, a proper design for the test coupons is essential. The critical buckling loads for the coupons are calculated by assuming the coupons as columns under two types of fixed conditions. The first is that both ends of each coupon are perfectly clamped, the second is that both ends of each coupon are simply supported. The strain-load curves are obtained by compressing the representative coupons, on each surface of which a strain gage is attached. The buckling loads obtained from the tests are all between the two calculated critical buckling loads. All the coupons are broken by the compression during the fatigue tests. It is estimated to be the reason that the fatigue load causes delamination before the eventual failure of each coupon, and sequentially the micro-buckling in the delaminated region drives each coupon into fatigue failure during the compression. The S-N curve, the fatigue life characteristics of carbon fabric/epoxy is obtained.

  • This paper is concerned with the nonlinear hyperelastic problem fur the incompressible characteristics of the rubber. Tension sensor is a strain gage type load cell element for a fence intrusion detection system and consists of the sensing part and the rubber housing. The analysis includes an elastic analysis and a hyperelastic analysis of a tension sensor for the deformed shape and variation of the maximum strain on the sensing part with respect to the vertical load. Numerical results show that the hyperelastic model is stiffer and less deformed than the elastic model. Comparing with the experimental test data, we know the hyperelastic model is the better approximation than the elastic model.

  • Emphasis has been placed on thin plate fabrication of plain woven carbon fabric reinforced Al matrix composites using liquid pressing process. The composite has potential applications for PDP rear plate. The process is to use the low pressure for infiltration of Al melt into plain woven carbon fabric as the Al melt is pressurized directly. The minimum pressure required for the infiltration was calculated from force balance equation, permeability measurements and compaction behavior of carbon fiber. Also, the melting temperature and the holding time have been optimized. In order to measure coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the composites, the thermal strain measurement using strain gage was performed and the thermal conductivity of the composites was measured using laser flash method. The constituent materials of the composite are PAN type carbon fibers as reinforcements and 6061 Al alloys as matrices.

고강도 알미늄 합금재에 있어서 크랙열림점 평가에 관한 연구(I) (A Study on Evaluation of Crack Opening Point in High Strength Aluminum Alloy(I))

  • This paper aims to synthesize the research on fatigue fracture mechanisms of high strength aluminum alloys which are widely used in motorcars or airplanes to prevent accidents. To measure the data of crack opening ratio, the same materials and method are used for evaluating the fatigue crack propagation rate as an effective stress intensity factor. But, many researchers have brought different results. An exact crack opening ratio was, therefore, proposed for getting a more accurate fatigue crack propagation rate. The main conclusions obtained are as follows. (1) As a result of the fatigue test, the value of the crack opening ratio is the same regardless of the stress ratio. (2) The value of crack opening ratio is different according to the measuring point. After measuring the crack propagation rate by using an effective stress intensity factor, the crack opening ratio value measured at the crack mouth by a clip gage, or measured rear of the specimen by a strain gage is more accurate than that by any other measuring test.

  • The constant .DELTA.K fatigue tests are performed in SS41 and its weldments to investigate crack opening behavior and fatigue crack propagation behavior at each parts of weldment and its boundary layer. The weldments were annealed after welding for the purpose of relieving residual stress. Every weldments has notch at weld metal zone, and fatigue crack propagates from weld metal zone to vase metal zone perpendicular to weld line. The Laser ISDG method is used in order to determine the crack opening ratio, this method is more precise than indirect measurement method, and faster and easier than other direct measurement method.

  • 신조선 선박에서 시운전 중 주 추진 시스템의 동력을 측정하는 방법은 스트레인 게이지를 이용하여 축의 변형률로부터 얻어지는 직접적인 방법과 기계적인 또는 전기적인 픽업을 이용하여 계측한 실린더연소압력으로부터 환산된 면적에 의한 간접적인 방법으로 구분할 수 있다. 이러한 동력은 장주기로 선박의 여러 가지 해상 운동에 의해서 그리고 단주기로는 축계의 비틀림, 축계 배치 및 횡진동의 영향에 의해서 변동한다. 본 논문에서는 축동력측정과 평가를 위하여 통계적인 해석법을 소개하고 있고, 저속2행정디젤엔진과 감속기를 포함 중속 4행정 디젤엔진 모델에 의해서 이들이 확인되고 있다.

  • This study is concerned about the stress concentration factor measurement by photoelastic method, for the case of two circular holes arrangement in 3mm semi-infinite plate under tensile load, the ratio of those two circular holes diameter, the ratio of distance apart from circular holes to breadth and the two holes arrangement angle with loading direction were varied. Besides, the measured stress concentration by photoelastic method around one circular hole was compared with that by strain-gage method.

측정 분해능이 0.1mm인 우량계의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Raingage with a Resolution of 0.1mm)

  • A new method is developed to measure rainfall with high accuracy and resolution. The principle of new method is to detect a weight change of a buoyant weight according to a change in water level of raingage measured by the use of a strain-gage load cell. Field test of the method was carried out on 30 September 1998, when there was heavy rainfall with total amount of 189.60mm. The results are as follows; 1) In spite of heavy rainfall, this new method showed the total error of only 1.5% against the total amount of 189.60mm. 2) This new mechanism accomplished high accuracy and resolution at filed test in heavy rainy day. 3) The present study provided a possibility to develop a new raingage with an 0.01mm in rainfall measurement.
