Simulation of Stable Cloth on Triangular Mesh via LOD-Based Bending Springs on Strain-Based Dynamics

  • 본 논문에서는 삼각형 메쉬(Triangular mesh) 기반에서 변형률 기반 동역학(Strain-based dynamics, SBD)을 안정적으로 표현할 수 있는 LOD(Level of detail)기반의 굽힘 스프링(Bending spring) 구조와 감쇠 기법에 대해 설명한다. SBD는 삼각형 메쉬의 에지 길이(Edge length) 기반의 에너지 대신 변형률(Strain)을 활용하여 탄성 에너지를 모델링한다. 하지만, 큰 외력이 발생하면 에지 기반으로 탄성 에너지를 계산하는 과정에서는 비정상적인 삼각형(Degenerate triangle)이 나타나고 이 문제는 불안정한 변형률을 계산하기 때문에 잘못된 방향으로 늘어나는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이 문제를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 LOD기반의 굽힘 스프링을 생성하고 에너지를 계산하는 방법에 대해 소개한다. 결과적으로 본 논문에서 제안하는 기법은 굽힘 스프링 기반의 SBD를 안정적이고 효율적으로 처리할 수 있기 때문에 옷감 시뮬레이션을 안정적으로 표현할 수 있다.

이론분석에 의한 MEMS 소켓 핀의 스프링 상수 계산 (Computation of Spring Constants of MEMS Socket Pins by Theoretical Analysis)

  • Spring constants (displacement per unit applied load) of MEMS socket pins of given structures were computed by theoretical analysis and confirmed by the finite element method (FEM). In the theoretical analysis, the displacement of pins was calculated based on the 2-dimensional bending theory of the curved beam. For the 3-dimensional modeling, CATIA was used. After modeling, the raw data were transferred to ANSYS, which was employed in the 3-dimensional analysis for the calculation of the stress and strain and loaddisplacement The theoretical analysis and the FEM results were found to agree, with each showing the spring constants as 63.4 N/m within a reasonable load range. These results show that spring constants can be easily obtained through theoretical calculation without resorting to experiments and FEM analysis for simple and symmetric structures. For the some change of shape and structural stiffness, this theoretical analysis can be applied to MEMS socket pins.

해저관로의 대변형 굽힘에 의한 소성 모멘트 추정 (Estimation of Plastic Bending Moment of Offshore Pipelines)

  • The reel-lay method of submarine pipelines a continuous string of pipe coiled onto a reel. Assembly of this pipe that is string is accomplished onshore by welding, and nondestructive testing is carried out prior to coiling the pipe. The total length of pipes on the reel depends on the reel and pipe diameters. Pipeline installation is accomplished by uncoiling, straightening the pipe, and laying out the pipe string onto the seabed as the barge moves forward. Installation associated with coiling and uncoiling is related to the bending moment and strain relationship of the pipeline, A highgrade pipe material is required when the reel-lay method is used. This paper is concerned with the highly plastic bending moment of the pipeline, including the effect of ovality. Moment calculation in the pipe is accomplished by the numerical method, including the variable ovalities during the plastic bending of the pipe string. The new calculation method of the high plastic bending moment was applied to the reel-lay method.

자왜 Tonpilz 변환기의 음향특성 해석 프로그램 개발 (Program Development for the Underwater-Acoustic Characteristic Analysis of Magnetostrictive Tonpilz Transducer)

  • Magnetostrictive materials are used low frequency sonar transmitter instead of piezoelectric materials. But it is difficult to analyze due to the nonlinearity and hysteresis of magnetostrictive materials. This paper deals with the program development for the finite element modeling of magnetostrictive tonpilz transducers and for analyzing their acoustic characteristics. To take into account the nonlinearity of magnetostrictive materials, the magnetic field calculation is separated form the displacement calculation, and a curve fitting is adopted for the nonlinear behavior of the magnetic and mechanical strain fields. At first, the magnetic field is obtained by using a commercial FEM software and the displacement of the transducer is calculated by plugging the obtained magnetic field into forcing term. To verity the accuracy of the developed program, a comparison is made with a commercial code, ATILA.

모래에 대한 단일항복면 구성모델의 평가 (Evaluation of Single Hardening Constitutive Model for Sand)

  • Solutions of geotechnical engineering problems require calculation of deformation and stresses during various stages of loading. Powerful numerical methods are available to make such calculation even for complicated problems. To get accurate results, realistic stress-strain relationships of soil are dependent on a number of factors such as soil type, density, stress level and stress path. Attempts are continuously being made to develope analytical models for soils incorporating all such factors. The nature of stress-path dependency, the principle that governs deformations in sand, and the use of Lade's single work-hardening model for predicting sand response for a variety of stress-paths have been investigated and are examined. The test results and the analyses presented show that under some conditions sand exhibits stress-path dependent behavior. The strains calculated from Lade's single work-hardening model are in reasonable agreement with those measured, but some discrepancies occur. The largest difference between measured and calculated strains occurs for proportional loading with increasing stresses and for stress-path directions.

전기 업셋팅 가공시의 열탄소성 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermo-elasto-plastic Analysis of Upset Forming)

  • Thermal elasto-plastic analysis of axi-symmetric body by the finite element method is presented in this paper for analyzing the process of upset forming of circular section extruded bar. The example of calculation for upset forming of Nimonic extruded bar is also presented. It is shown that remeshing of quadrilateral finite element is necessary because the very highly distorted element by plastic deformation disturbs the calculation. Calculated values for nodal points in new mesh are obtained from nodal points of old mesh by linear interpolation method. The experimental results are compared with calculated values. The appearance of upsetupset forming obtained by experimental method is very similar to that obtained by calculations. So, it is proved that the thermal elasto-plastic analysis of axi-symmetric body by the finite element method is very useful for finding the optimum upsetting condition.

다이아프램 감지부 구조를 갖는 소형 로드셀의 정격출력 계산에 관한 연구 (Calculation of rated output in diaphragm type miniature load cell)

  • As the miniature load cells have small inner space and sensing elements of which are thin and very sensitive to manufacturing conditions, it is very difficult to predict the rated outputs and control them by using the compensation resistor. The very useful equation has been derived for calculation of theoretical rated outputs for diaphragm type miniature load cells when commercial diaphragm strain gages are used. Four diaphragm type miniature load cells of which capacities are from 300 N to 1, 000 N and outer diameters are 20 mm and 26.5 mm are manufactured. The differences between calculating results and actural ones are less than 5%. According to numerical analysis the decrease of rated outputs caused to main error is examined in existence of loading button.

반복재하 평판재하시험의 유한요소해석을 이용한 변형계수의 추정기법 (An Evaluation Method of Deformation Moduli using Finite Element Analysis of Cyclic Plate Load Tests)

  • 본 연구에서는 비등방경화 구성모델을 이용하여 반복재하 평판재하시험에 대한 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 이 때 구성모델은 ABAQUS 코드에서 제공하는 사용자 서브루틴에 적용하였다. 평판재하시험의 해석결과를 이용하여 영계수와 변형률을 역계산 하였으며 입력된 변형계수와 비교한 결과 적절하게 계산할 수 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 이러한 기법을 토대로 평판재하시험 사례에 대한 적용을 수행하였다. 이로부터 변형률에 따른 변형계수의 변화를 반복재하 평판재하시험 결과로부터 실용적으로 획득하는 것이 가능하였다.

  • The profile ring rolling process of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was designed by finite element(FE) simulation and experimental analysis. The design includes geometry design and optimization of process variables. The geometry design such as initial billet and blank sizes, and final rolled ring shape was carried out with the calculation method based on the uniform deformation concept between the wall thickness and ring height. FEM simulation was used to calculate the state variables such as strain, strain rate and temperature and to predict the formation of forming defects during ring rolling process. Finally, the mechanical properties of profiled Ti-6Al-4V alloy ring product were analyzed with the evolution of microstructures during the ring rolling process.

  • 탄성체 (가교된 고분자) 가스가 용해된 고분자 또는 유기 용매에 용해된 고분자 용액에서 기포 생성을 예측하기 위하여 균일한 기포 생성은 고전적인 이론에서의 임계 기포의 생성이 아닌 임계 뭉치의 생성을 통하여 이루어진다는 분자 뭉치 이론을 적용하였다. 또한 탄성체나 고분자 내에서 기포가 생성하는 경우 임계 기포가 극복해야 할 탄성 에너지를 고려하였다. 대략 $10^{8}$$10^{12}$개에 달하는 분자 뭉치 이론에 의해 계산된 단위 부피당 생성된 기포 수는 실험치와 잘 일치하였다.
