Domestic and foreign tourism authorities show that the most favorite tourist activity is shopping. Tourism income in Korea set a record in 2014 due to a large influx of Chinese tourists. Dongdaemun fashion market was selected as the most preferred destination for Chinese tourists shopping in Korea. This study examines the effect of store attributes on customer equity at Dongdaemun shopping malls. This study adopted a survey; subsequently, 637 questionnaires were used in the final analysis. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 statistics program. The main findings of this study are as follows. Among the three store attributes of Dongdaemun shopping malls, service and environment attributes appeared to influence the three drivers of consumer equity. In addition, value equity was identified to provide a positive impact on Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), brand equity, and relationship equity were identified as having a positive impact on revisit intention. Second, the relationships between the variables were significantly different in two types of the Dongdaemun fashion shopping mall (Doota vs Lotte Fitin). In addition, this study offers a valuable implication for brand marketers to maintain and develop customer equity in Dongdaemun fashion markets.
The study has made theoretical system by thesis journals at home and abroad, material of the Association of Convenience Store Industry of Korea, materials of Statistics Korea and reference books. First, the study examined convenience store's brand image, cognized value, quality level, reliability upon brand, structural relation of purchasing intention, and designed models and theses. Second, the first questionnaire consisted of test items of precedent study, and inspected in advance to inspect reliability and appropriateness, and made correction and supplemented problems. Third, SPSS and AMOS statistics were used to conduct empirical analysis and to find out conclusion and implications. In this study, the subject was consumers who visited local convenience stores such as GS25, Seven Eleven and CU last 3 months to buy PB food. Consumers' consumption pattern and culture made change to be reasonable and practical owing to aging society, nuclear family, women's entering into the society, one person household consumer, and convenient and prompt buying to make different consumption pattern and to make change of commodity distribution pattern. Convenience store took action against change of the trend to expand business area by new distribution channels to get another growth source. Private brand (PB) food that was distributor's brand was expanded. The PB product has been competitiveness of food service industry.
The purpose of this study was to consumer's evaluation toward salesperson attributes, satisfaction of salesperson and apparel store on relationship continuity. To this end, a total of 500 questionnaires were distributed to men and women university students and 443 samples were used for the final analysis. Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, factor analysis, cluster analysis, One-way ANOVA, crosstabs, Pearson's correlation analysis, regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows; Looking at the effects of evaluation toward salesperson attributes, satisfaction of salesperson on relationship continuity, they showed satisfaction of salesperson had direct influence on relationship continuity extremely when men and women university students are purchasing their clothing. Uniformity, customer orientation, expertise, kindness were as follows. Looking at the effects of evaluation toward salesperson attributes, satisfaction of apparel store on relationship continuity, it showed uniformity has direct influence on maintaining relations extremely when men and women university students are purchasing their clothing. Customer orientation, satisfaction of apparel store, expertise, kindness were as follows. Through this study, it will be applied into program development data for consumer management and education, and salesperson's efficient consumer response as well.
Purpose: This study aims to introduce a hybrid MCDM model to support the selection of retail store location. Research design, data, and methodology: The hybrid approach of ANP and TOPSIS was used to address the location selection problem. The ANP technique was employed to compute the weights of the selection criteria, whilst the TOPSIS was used to rank alternatives. The proposed approach was then applied into a fashion company in Vietnam to select the best alternatives to be the retail store. Results: The results showed that Candidate 1 - Hai Ba Trung street is the most appropriate selection for locating retail stores. Conclusions: The proposed approach provides the decision makers with more useful methods than traditional ones. Therefore, the model can be applied to the location selection in all industries. In terms of academic contribution, the selection criteria proposed in the research can devote to the literature in the selection of location along with the concept of distribution channels. Additionally, the research also provides insight and guidelines for firms in making decision on retail store location based on limited resources to avoid the waste of funds. However, the results only answer to the context of Vietnam - a developing country. Thus, future research may be extended to developed countries where have better conditions.
One of the biggest change in the distributive market recently is that the development of private brand is progress actively since consumers purchasing behavior is tend to shift to resonable and practical planned purchase from brand image or brand name. Once the development of private brands is done successfully, the independent merchandising distinguished from other distribution companies is established, store image through customer satisfaction is strengthen and volume of sales and profit are increased. However, the existing studies in this field have not dealt with this matter systematically. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose an integrated framework within which to view private brand proneness. Factors found to influence private brand proneness included perceived cost, with private brand, perceived value for money, store fame, perceived risk, perceived quality variation between national and private brand products. Foe empirical analysis, the data were collected from 211 consumers who purchased the private brands in discount store and department store. With the collected survey data, reliability test, factor analysis for validity test and regression analysis for hypotheses test were conducted. Most hypotheses were accepted but on hypotheses were rejected negative relation of perceived cost and private brand proneness. Research results indicate that private brand proneness is affected by perceived value, perceived fame and there are negative relation between private brand proneness and perceived quality variation.
This study identified types of online retail internationalization in the fast-fashion context and proposed driving factors of retailers' choices in online-based market entry following the logic of the Uppsala model and the eclectic theory. In particular, this study proposes three types of online-based internationalization: 1) entering a host market with a physical store first, and then expanding with an online store, 2) entering a foreign market with an online store, then expanding to physical stores, and 3) entering only with an online business. In addition, this study investigated the causal factors, ownership-specific and location advantages, that influence the choice of the type of developmental process of online-based internationalization. To develop theoretical and managerial insights into the issue researched, this study employed a qualitative research design involving case studies of three European fast-fashion retailers, H&M, TOPSHOP, and ASOS. This study suggested that fast-fashion retailers that enter a host market with high ownership-specific advantages are likely to choose to enter the market with physical stores and then expand with online stores. On the other hand, when faced with uncertainties attributable to low ownership-specific or location advantages, fast-fashion retailers are likely to choose to enter with an online store first and then expand with physical stores as conditions change. Consequently, this study provides a better understanding for fast-fashion retailers who are willing to expand their businesses to foreign markets via online stores.

The study explores the factors affecting the brand selection behavior of retail chains in Vietnam and to what extent they have an impact on the customer's choice intention. This research employs a combination of both qualitative and quantitative mixed methods with the help of SPSS version 22.0 in data analysis. Expert interviews are used to design the questionnaire for the survey conducted on 700 consumers. Research results show that the eight factors of store image (1-to-3 split factor of store image including the display of goods and services), price perception, risk perception, brand attitude, brand awareness, and brand familiarity were determined. They all influence the intention to choose the retail chain brand. With a positive β coefficient, the more store image, price perception, brand attitude, and brand awareness are enhanced, the more likely the intention to choose the retail chain brand. The factor of risk perception has negative , resulting in an inverse impact on choosing a retail chain brand name. Price perception and risk perception have the strongest impact on retail chain decision behavior while commodity display factors the least. Based on these important results, the study proposes implications for retailers and manufacturers.
Conceptualization of store image have been suggested in the past by many marketing scholars. The dominant perspective about store image is treated as the results of a multi-attribute model. Store image is expressed as a function of the salient attributes of a particular store that are evaluated. Though, there is a little confusions about what elements compose the store image, most scholars agree that merchandise, service, atmosphere, physical facilities, comfort, and location are generally accepted elements as store image. A considerable researches support that shopping can provide both hedonic and utilitarian value. Hedonic shopping value reflects the value received from fantasy and emotive aspects of shopping experience, while utilitarian shopping value reflects the acquisition of products. These two types of shopping value can affect shopping satisfaction. This study examines the relationships among stores images(store atmosphere, salespeople services, facilities, product assortment, and store location), shopping values(utilitarian shopping value and hedonic shopping value), and shopping satisfaction based on discount stores (E-Mart, Home plus, and Lotte Mart). The author hypothesized that five store image components affect shopping values, and these shopping values affect shopping satisfaction. The author focused on the roles of perceived retail crowding between these relationships. Specifically, the author hypothesized that perceived retailing crowding moderated the relationship between shopping values and shopping satisfaction. The author also hypothesized the direct effect of perceived retail crowding on shopping satisfaction. Result indicates that perceived retail crowding affects directly shopping satisfaction and there is a non-linear relationship between them. Purpose: We divide management characteristics into business strategy, operation management, information management, marketing, asset management. Also this will show effect on business performance according to management characteristics. Methods: For two months, from August to October, a manager (include an executive) participated in individual questionnaires. And the SPSS v14.0 was applied to analyze data of this study. Results: This study has shown that the management characteristics have an effect on the finance and satisfaction performance. In particular, the 'business strategy' and 'marketing' of management characteristics were important factors that affects finance performance and the 'business strategy', 'marketing' and 'operation management' were important factors that affects satisfaction performance. Conclusions: Consequently through this result, we should make an efforts to 'business strategy' and 'marketing' of management characteristics.
A franchise system develops competitive products for a franchise store through the system established by the franchise head office. Therefore, it has advantages of expanding the marketing effect since the risk of failure is reduced for a founder and the franchise head office supports the overall sales, advertisement and promotional activities. Also, a franchise store has advantages of fulfilling necessary facilities and tools on advantageous terms, reducing expenses by purchasing in bulk, and getting a supply of products with stable qualities. However, aside from such advantages, franchise head offices are forcing franchise stores to make unnecessary investments in equipments and remodel the interior. Also, franchise business operators are being made to share the cost of marketing and multiple franchise stores are being approved within the same business district, and franchise business operators are suffering damages. Therefore, cases of shutting down a franchise store or not renewing the contract are frequent. From the position of a franchise head office, profits that are generated from franchise fees, interior remodeling fees and supplying facilities and materials will increase as the number of new franchise stores increases. However, franchise stores are faced with difficulties due to excessive competitions between similar types of businesses and the overlapping of business districts that come from increases in the number of stores, and they eventually end up shutting down. Therefore, in order for a franchise business operator and franchise head office to grow and develop continuously, opening new stores is important, but successfully renewing the contract by maintaining a relationship with an existing franchise business operator is desirable. In this aspect, a study that examines the elements that can affect the relationship between a franchise business operator and franchise head office is believed to be important for the development of the franchise industry and creating safe jobs for the public. With an emphasis on the relationship between a franchise head office and franchise store, this study attempted to examine the effect of characteristics of a franchise head office and franchise business operator on the bilateral relationship such as the faith and immersion, and wished to review the effects of such faith and immersion on the satisfaction of a franchise store, including an intention of renewing the contract. In particular, in the current situation of great uncertainties in the market, this study also wished to examine how uncertain market elements will affect the relationship between the characteristics of a franchise head office and franchise business operator, and the faith and immersion. The study revealed that among the characteristics of a franchise head office, the standardization management of a franchise head office hinders a franchise store's faith and immersion in a franchise head office. Also, a franchise head office's support was shown to increase a franchise store's faith and immersion. However, it was revealed that a franchise head office's regulation and incentive policies for a franchise store do not affect a franchise store's faith and immersion. Among characteristics of a franchise business operator, a franchise store's healthy financial status and entrepreneur spirits were shown to enhance the faith and immersion in a franchise head office. However, it was shown that excellent business abilities of a franchise business operator actually reduce the immersion for a franchise head office. Also, the faith and immersion in a franchise head office were shown to enhance the intention of renewing the contract by increasing the satisfaction for a franchise head office. In addition, it was originally believed that the effects of a franchise business operator's characteristics on the faith and immersion in a franchise head office will vary depending on the market uncertainty, but the effect of a franchise business operator's characteristics depending on the recognition of uncertainties was shown to be insignificant. Such findings show that instead of making a franchise store pay for equipment investments and marketing and obtaining profits by force, a franchise head office should actively support a franchise store so that a franchise store's business activities can be conducted well, which will bring profits to a franchise store and ultimately to a franchise head office. This is a more desirable direction for the development of both parties. Implications of such findings are summarized as follows. First, it was shown that a franchise head office's standardization management actually reduces a franchise store's faith and immersion. Therefore, it is believed that instead of conducting standardization managements for regulating and managing franchise stores, measures should be developed so that franchise stores can actually participate voluntarily. For this, a head office should put in efforts to develop and provide standardized manuals, and make sure that a self-review system takes root. Second, a franchise head office's incentives did not have significant effects on the faith and immersion, but the support was shown to be effective. Therefore, it can be seen that instead of taking post-measures for a franchise store, taking pre-measures of actively supporting is more effective in maintaining a franchise store. Third, among characteristics of a franchise head office, it was shown that a franchise store's healthy financial status increased the faith and immersion in a franchise head office. Therefore, when selecting a franchise business operator, instead of thoughtlessly opening up franchise stores for the profit of a head office, it is believed that reviewing a franchise business operator's financial firepower and credit status is necessary. As for academic implications, previous studies examined the relationship by focusing on the characteristics of a franchise head office and franchise store, but this study focused on the characteristics of a franchise business operator. Therefore, this study dealt with the importance of a franchise business operator's competence, and is significant because it revealed the fact that a franchise business operator's excellent commercialization ability can become an element that hinders the immersion in a franchise head office. It was originally believed that a franchise store's characteristics will have different effects on the faith and immersion depending on the market uncertainty, but it was shown that the effect of a franchise store's characteristics depending on the recognition of uncertainties was insignificant, and that is the limitation of this study.
