  • Seven constructs of sanitary management :time temperature, storage, cross-contamination, personal hygiene, equipment facility and documentation management were evaluated to investigate the perceived performance of sanitary management for school food service managers, Using a four-part questionnaire containing the seven constructs of sanitary management HACCP program, demographic information and characteristics of food service facilities participants rated their self-perceptions regarding sanitary management. Of the 550 possible respondents, 248(45.1%) completed the study. For the perceived sanitary manage-ment variables, the participants rated them between 2.66 and 4.16(5-point Likert scale). Temperature management presented the lowest performances while storage management showed the highest. The number of years of work experience of the food service managers and the serving location correlated significantly to sanitary management variables. Documentation management was also highly correlated to the other sanitary management constructs. The respondents ranked the managers leadership and professional knowledge regrading HACCP as most important, followed by the facilitys supporting equipment and human resources second, to successfully implement the HACCP system at the school food service facilites, Awareness of this study indicating low performance on temperature management suggests an active training program is needed for sanitary management of school food service.

  • The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology has acquired detailed biological, chemicophysical, and geological data in the northeastern Pacific through a manganese nodule program since 1983. Plenty of manganese nodules were collected to estimate the amount of resources by free-fall grab and box corer. The collected manganese nodules have been archived systematically in the rock and mineral storage section of the Library of Marine Samples (LIMS) since 2012. The LIMS provides essencial information on the stored samples including sample name, nodule type, sampling location, depth, and equipment. Although a high quality database of the information system is under construction, the samples have tagged information for manganese nodules like chemical composition, morphology, weight, size, abundance, and photograph. In this study, we attempted to provide information on the well-organized and easily accessible archived manganese nodule samples for future studies and to introduce the usefulness of the LIMS.

  • The green water on deck has many harmful effects on the vessel in rough seas such as damages to hull structures, damages to cargos, increase of the downtime, decrease of the stability, and so on. Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSOs) are operated in a specific location and are normally positioned to meet mostly head or bow waves in order to reduce the roll motions. But this makes FPSOs more vulnerable to green water around the bow region therefore the bow shape should be properly designed to mitigate the green water damage. In this paper, experimental results in regular head waves for three kinds of bow shapes are compared and some design considerations are proposed, with the building a database for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) validation in mind.

  • The IIS(Internal Insulation System) is applied in most Korean apartment buildings which are the most common type of residential buildings. Consequently, there are many cases in which the layer of insulation is disconnected by the structural components at the wall-slab and wall-wall joints in the envelope. These joints become thermal bridges where the risk of heat loss increases. It is expected that the EIFS(External Insulation and Finish System) is the solution to this problem. In this study, annual heating and cooling loads of apartment buildings with IIS and EIFS were compared using Design Builder program in order to evaluate the thermal storage effect of EIFS where the concrete thermal mass is located inside of the insulation material. As results, the apartment building with EIFS could reduce annual heating and cooling loads by 2.4% and 4.1%, respectively.

  • The durability of carbon/epoxy composites under salt water environment was investigated through salt water spray tester. Salt water environment was obtained through salt spray and salt immersion. 5% NaCl solution was used for salt water as natural salt water. Mechanical test was performed to obtain tensile properties, flexural properties, and shear properties of carbon/epoxy composite over 12 months under salt water environment. Dynamic mechanical analyzer was used to investigate thermal analysis properties such storage modulus, loss modulus, and tan ${\delta}$. Also FT/IR test was conducted to investigate a change in chemical structure. According to the results, mechanical properties were found to be slowly degraded as a function of exposure times. Regarding to thermal analysis properties, storage modulus was insensitive to exposure times, but loss modulus was shown to be slightly decreased. Although the shape and location of peak in FT/IR were not much changed, the intensity of peak in FT/IR was affected on exposure times. We also found that salt water immersion was more severe to the durability of carbon/epoxy composite rather than salt water spray.

  • Recent series of flooding events in urban area has brought a growing concern on storage facilities as a major stormwater management method. The Korean Ministry of Environment has announced diverse plans to tackle the problem, including plans for multi-purpose storages which deal both the stormwater and wastewater. Even though storages can be categorized for different perspectives, classification of possible storages in urban area has not been throughly studied so far. This study investigated diverse references of urban storages and suggested systematic classifications on structural, functional and some other basis. Structural classification mainly concerns structural shape of facilities and includes (1)Cisterns & Rain barrels, (2)Forebays, (3)Dry basins, (4)Wet basins and (5)Constructed wetland. Those functions can be (1)flood prevention (2)water quality control and (3)reuse of stored water. Other criteria that categorize storages depend on (1)height, (2)location, (3)configuration, (4)depth, (5)site of the installation and (6)shape.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials and the weight change according to different storage period (24 hours, 48hours, 7days) and different conditions (dry, wet). The techniques for establishing the intercuspal position were centic occlusion interocclusal record with four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials (Ramitec, Stat-BR, Blu-Mousse, Regisil) (experimental groups) and location of the cast in a position of maximum in-terdigitation using tactile and visual method(control group). To evaluate the accuracy of four elastomeric interocclusal recording materials, the quality of contacts between the mounted casts was compared with the results of an occlusal examination of the same subjects. The results were as follows : 1. The most accurate method of articulating study casts at the intercuspal position was by hand articulation and no significant differences in accuracy were observerd among the experimental groups. 2. In case of interocclusal records storaged in dry sealed plastic box, no significant differences in accuracy were observed among the experimental groups. 3. In case of interocclusal records storaged in water, there was significant inaccuracy in Ramitec group. 4. The biggest weight change was observed in Ramitec group in all storage conditions

  • Nondestructive testing was carried out in order to evaluate the structural integrity and construction quality of the slurry wall of the underground LNG storage tank. 9 test points were selected, and the wall thickness, rebar spacing, and compressive strength of the slurry wall were evaluated by stress wave impact-resonance method, GPR, sonic velocity, and rebound testing, respectively. As results, the wall thickness, rebar sparing and estimated compressive strength satisfy the design criteria.

  • The Pocket PC has become more popular in market because of the advantages of its small size and convenience for regular customers. Pocket PC is a mobile device so that we can receive the benefits of shared data over a wireless network. Enabling us to transmit data to a central location, simply messaging from one point to the next, its ability to share information across a wireless platform is becoming central to our communication needs. However, using Windows CE - an embedded operating system, as well as being designed for mobile users, there are many limitations to memory and speed of arithmetic operations on Pocket PC. As a result, developers have to deal with many difficulties in managing information storage when developing applications, especially Geography Information System (GIS) applications. In this paper, we propose some efficient methods to store GIS data and to increase the speed of displaying maps in GIS applications developed on Pocket PC and Windows CE 3.0.

  • Recently, as warehouses became automated, workers are trying to maximize storage efficiency as well as work efficiency. So, using mobile-rack which has wheels or rails at the bottom and minimizes dead space by removing extra passages between racks is rapidly rising as a notable technology. So, this paper seeks how to manage optimally cryogenic warehouse using mobile-rack. At first, routes of mobile-rack and operation vehicle will be synchronized and storage location will be decided with seasonal demand. After that, it will be simulated considering additional factors.
