The construction of panoramic images on smartphones and low-powered devices is a challenging task. In this paper, we propose a new approach for smoothly stitching images on mobile phones in the presence of moving objects in the scene. Our main contributions include handling moving object problems, reducing processing time, and generating rectangular panoramic images. First, unique and robust feature points are extracted using fast ORB method and a feature matching technique is applied to match the extracted feature points. After obtaining good matched feature points, we employ the non-deterministic RANSAC algorithm to discard wrong matches, and the hommography transformation matrix parameters are estimated with the algorithm. Afterward, we determine precise overlap regions of neighboring images and calculate their absolute differences. Then, thresholding operation and noise removal filtering are applied to create a mask of possible moving object regions. Sequentially, an optimal seam is estimated using dynamic programming algorithm, and a combination of linear blending with the mask information is applied to avoid seam transition and ghosting artifacts. Finally, image-cropping operation is utilized to obtain a rectangular boundary image from the stitched image. Experiments demonstrate that our method is able to produce panoramic images quickly despite the existence of moving objects.
VR (Virtual Reality) is one of the important research topics in the field of multimedia application system. The quality of the visual data composed from multiple pictures depends on the performance of stitching technique. The stitching module consists of feature extraction, mapping of those, warping, seam finding, and blending. In this paper, we proposed a preprocessing scheme to provide the efficient mask for seam finder. Incorporating of the proposed mask removes the distortion, such as ghost and blurring, in the stitched image. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms other conventional techniques in the respect of the subjective quality and the computational complexity.
Image stitching is a technique for solving the problem of narrow field of view of a camera by composing multiple images. Recently, as the use of content such as Panorama, Super Resolution, and 360 VR increases, the need for faster and more accurate image stitching technology is increasing. So far, many algorithms have been proposed to satisfy the required performance, but the objective evaluation method for measuring the accuracy has not been standardized. In this paper, we present the problems of PSNR and SSIM(Structural similarity index method) measurement methods and propose a Local Differential Pixel Mean method. The LDPM evaluation method that includes geometric similarity and brightness measurement information is proved through a test, and the advantages of the evaluation method are revealed through comparison with SSIM.

This paper introduces a method for generating model images that can identify specific cylindrical medicine containers in videos and investigates data collection techniques. Previous research had separated object detection from specific object recognition, making it challenging to apply automated image stitching. A significant issue was that the coordinate-based object detection method included extraneous information from outside the object area during the image stitching process. To overcome these challenges, this study applies the newly released YOLOv8 (You Only Look Once) segmentation technique to vertically rotating pill bottles video and employs the ORB (Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF) feature matching algorithm to automate model image generation. The research findings demonstrate that applying segmentation techniques improves recognition accuracy when identifying specific pill bottles. The model images created with the feature matching algorithm could accurately identify the specific pill bottles.
In this paper, we introduce a technique for 360-degree panoramic video streaming with multiple virtual cameras in real-time. The proposed technique consists of generating 360-degree panoramic video data by ORB feature point detection, texture transformation, panoramic video data compression, and RTSP-based video streaming transmission. Especially, the generating process of 360-degree panoramic video data and texture transformation are accelerated by CUDA for complex processing such as camera calibration, stitching, blending, encoding. Our experiment evaluated the frames per second (fps) of the transmitted 360-degree panoramic video. Experimental results verified that our technique takes at least 30fps at 4K output resolution, which indicates that it can both generates and transmits 360-degree panoramic video data in real time.

There are about nine million power line poles and 1.3 million kilometers of the power line for electric power distribution in Korea. Maintenance of such a large number of electric power facilities requires a lot of manpower and time. Recently, various fault diagnosis techniques using artificial intelligence have been studied. Therefore, in this paper, proposes a power line deflection detect system using artificial intelligence and computer vision technology in images taken by vision system. The proposed system proceeds as follows. (i) Detection of transmission tower using object detection system (ii) Histogram equalization technique to solve the degradation in image quality problem of video data (iii) In general, since the distance between two transmission towers is long, a panoramic video stitching process is performed to grasp the entire power line (iv) Detecting deflection using computer vision technology after applying power line detection algorithm This paper explain and experiment about each process.
The purpose of this study is to apply the Trencadis images in Antony Gaudi's work to a design motive and thus provide a new concept for a knitwear design by combining double-knitted fabrics with patchwork applique, taping, stitching and quilting. This study examines the bibliographic text and precedent research related to Antony Gaudi and his works, and analyzes the historical background and formative and stylistic characteristics of Trencadis as it appeared in Gaudi's architectural works. Also this study also examines the characteristics of knitwear and knitting theory while exploring the formative elements and the combined techniques used in modern knitwear design through fashion magazines, medium images, and online sources. The results are as follows: First, Gaudi's work that applies a Trencadis technique has the characteristic of being creative, organic, and environmentally friendly. And in addition, its colorfulness inspires modern fashion design. Second, computerized knitting has been practiced in various ways and the fabrics knitted by both double-knitting jacquard and computerized knitting machines provide a new direction the creation of knitwear. A computerized knitting machine is especially effective for pictorial expression, and is suitable for showing the natural curve of the human body due to its sophistication. Third, as a result of applying a combined technique to the knitting of various fabrics, a combined or fusion design, which is a recent megatrend, is very effective for the design of knitwear while increasing its aesthetic value. Moreover, utilizing techniques that combine patchwork applique, taping, stitching and quilting will create higher value in knitwear. Lastly, with a project of applying combined techniques in the creation of knitwear, designers can become much more creative while taking their imagination much further.
Background: Pre-lifting of the sternum marked a major turning point in pectus excavatum repair. The author developed the crane technique in 2002 and successfully applied it to more than 2,000 cases using sternal wire stitching. However, blind sternal suturing limited the use of the wire-stitch crane. We propose a novel screw for sternal lifting as a new tool for the crane technique. Methods: We developed a screw system strong enough to withstand the pressure needed for sternum lifting. The screw was designed to have a broader thread to hold the bony tissue securely. The screw's sustaining power was tested using the torsion, driving torque, and axial pull-out tests in a polyurethane block and ex-vivo porcine sternum. Results: The screws were easily driven into the sternum, and the head of the screw was connectable to the table-mounted retractor. In the torsion test, the 2° offset torsional yield was 4.53 N·m (reference value, 1 N·m). In the polyurethane block driving torque test, the maximum torque was 0.98 N·m (reference value, 0.70 N·m). The axial pull-out test was 446 N (reference value, 100 N). The maximum pull-out resistance in the ex-vivo porcine sternum model was 1,516 N. Conclusion: The screw crane was strong enough to sustain the chest wall weight to be lifted. Thus, the screws could effectively replace the sternal wire stitching in crane pre-lifting of the sternum. We expect that application of the screw-crane will be easy and that it will improve the safety and success rate of pectus repair surgery.
Untreated severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is associated with poor outcomes. Functional TR occurs secondary to dilatation of the annulus and tethering of the leaflets. Ring annuloplasty alone can correct most cases, but is insufficient in cases of severe annular dilatation due to severe leaflet tethering. In such cases, a tricuspid edge-to-edge technique may be an option. However, stitching of the leaflet tips alone is likely to result in tearing of the leaflets. Approximation of the durable chordae tendineae is considered helpful for this problem. Herein, we present the case of a 39-year-old man who had undergone open-heart surgery for acute type A aortic dissection 13 months earlier. A right mini-thoracotomy approach with a beating-heart strategy was used, which did not require unnecessary pericardial adhesiolysis and dissection. This technique had the advantage of reducing the operation time and the risk of bleeding. To summarize, we present a case of tricuspid valve repair in a high-risk patient with severe leaflet tethering that was successfully managed using these methods.

In general, the realization of spaceborne system is constrained by its space environment. In this paper, we suggest chirp stitching technique which generates and processes wideband radar signal with minimum hardware, design and implement transmit/receive equipments and operating programs to satisfy the requirement of this spaceborne high resolution SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar). We apply the top down design approach to this system, and divide hardware into equipment, module and circuit levels, and software into SR(Software Requirement), AD(Architecture Design), DD(Detailed Design) and coding levels, and then extract each requirement to satisfy the wideband requirement of this spaceborne high resolution SAR. We, at first, test the hardware functions, confirm the wideband handling capability of this system with 85MHz wideband signals generated from two 42.5MHz narrow band signals, and show that this system can be used in spaceborne high resolution SARs.
