In this paper, we obtain important combinatorial identities of generalized harmonic numbers using symmetric polynomials. We also obtain the matrix representation for the generalized harmonic numbers whose inverse matrix can be computed recursively.

The pulse tube cooler as an alternative of Stirling, G-M or VM cooler to overcome the requirement from the various application fields is described. The necessity of the object oriented cooler development is explained to realize the cryocooler of more energy-efficient, more reliable, more compact and less expensive than what is currently available commercially.

A stirling engine is a mechanism used to convert heat to power and operates on a closed regenerative thermodynamic cycle with compression and expansion of the working fluid at different temperature. The performance of a stilting cycle machine is a function of six independent parameters, namely; (1) speed N(r.p.m), (2) pressure of the working fluid p(Pa), (3) ratio of the temperature in the compression and expansion space ${\tau}(=T_C/T_E)$ , (4) ratio of the swept volumes in these two spaces K, (5) phase angle $\alpha$ and (6) dead volume ratio X. This paper describes the procedure and presents the results of computations carried out to establish the optimum combinations of these six parameters for maximum engine output for the machine acting as a prime mover, over a combined temperature range from $300^{\circ}K$ to $1000^{\circ}K$ and dead volume ratio X ranging from 0.1 to 2.0. The output of a stilting cycle machine can be expressed in terms of nondimensional power in several different ways. Four methods were studied in detail, the parameters optimized and design charts and engine power charts prepared. The results of this paper may be useful as a guide to the likely effects on the performance of some of the important design parameters and regenerator design.

Non-specific reaction has been a problem in doing, especially, research and diagnosis for infectious agents. Avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex (ABC) techniques has widely been used to amplify a reaction. Photobacterium damse1a subsp. piscicdia (formerly Pasteurella piscicida) exhibited a capacity to bind with streptavidin non-specifically. The band, estimated 26 K Da in Western blotted paper, was blocked with biotin but incompletely. In an attempt to explore an involvement of the non-specific substance in attaching piscine cells, cell attachment test performed using anti- Ph. d. subsp piscicida sera raised mouse and rabbit exhibited slightly blocking effects for Mediterranean (1736) and significantly for Japanese (Sp 92144) isolate. Biotin decreased the attachment ability significantly for Sp92144 but it was not effective to 1736. Both isolates showed greatly enhanced attachment ability with poly-L-lysin. The non-specific binding substance was contained in bacterial extracellular products (ECPs). The substance was able to purified with 2-imminobiotin affinity column, the purified substance appeared to have 4 bands in silver staining, and had a carbohydrate branch. This purified substance showed cytotoxic effects selectively between 5 piscine cell lines. Moreover, it stimulated rainbow trout macrophage in terms of reduction of cytochrome cas well as yeast phagocytosis, significantly.
