Many important traits have been tagged allowing plant breeders to apply marker assisted selection (MAS) in rice. PCR itself is simple to set up, and requires little hands-on time. However, a crucial limiting step of MAS programs is the reliable and efficient extraction of DNA which can be performed on thousands of individuals. In this study, We describe a modification of the DNA extraction method, in which cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) is used to extract DNA from leaf tissues for suitable MAS in rice. We followed the standard 2% CTAB extraction method in all the procedure. In addition we used the 1.2 ml 8-strip tube instead of 1.5 ml E-tubes to fit the 8-multichannel pipette and employ the 96 well plate to use the swing bucket centrifuge. Our modified CTAB DNA extraction method offers several advantages with respect to traditional and simple methods. 1) adult leaf samples collected in paddy field are applicable. 2) 96 leaf samples can be homogenized only one-time by using tungsten carbonate bead and 96well block. 3) semiautomatic loading method using 8-multichannel pipette from DNA extraction to electrophoresis of PCR products. 4) our system can extract about 400 leaf samples per day by only one technicion. Therefore, this method could be useful for marker assisted breeding in rice.

Purpose: We investigated occurrence of reduction loss after extension block (EB) Kirschner wire fixation or additional interfragmentary fixation (AIF) and clinical results including extension lag of the distal interphalangeal joint for treating bony mallet finger. Methods: Forty-six patients were included with a mean follow-up of 28 months (range, 12-54 months). Twenty-seven patients were treated with EB K-wire fixation (Group A) while 19 patients were treated with AIF (Group B). We checked radiologic factors, such as amount of articular involvement, volar subluxation, mallet fragment angle, reduction loss, range of motion including extension lag, and functional outcomes using Crawford's criteria. Results: Reduction loss occurred in eight patients (17%). Differences in mean extension lag, age, preoperative volar subluxation and mallet fragment angle between patients with reduction loss and those with reduction maintaining were significant. However, there were no significant differences in gender, hand dominance, amount of articular involvement, AIF, or further flexion between reduction loss and reduction maintaining. As for patterns of displacement, there was a significant relationship between gap or step-off and extension lag. Using Crawford's evaluation criteria, functional outcomes were excellent in 31, good in 10, fair in 3, and poor in 2 patients. Conclusion: Reduction loss should be careful in older age, smaller mallet fragment angle and preoperative volar subluxation.
As incipient organizations progress from formation to become larger entities, the procedures and rules that provided managerial and structural advantages in having established the organizations and promoting the growth impede the innovation and creativity vital to maintain the competitive advantage. Adopting Corporate Entrepreneurship (CE), large corporations have tried to overcome the dilemma and to sustain the innovation and creativity in order to effectively cope with harsh competitive realities. Recently, some advanced corporations are trying to enhance CE by setting up an internal venture program as a seed organization for CE. By making an in-depth analysis of the internal venture program, 'C-Lab' of Samsung that is promoting CE-related characteristics for enhancing CE, we attempt to shed light on (1) what kinds of environments should be built around the seed organization for CE (2) what are the major characteristics that should be promoted through the seed organization in relation to CE (3) What kinds of achievements can be made from the promoted characteristics (4) How the characteristics are spread over the entire organization. Based on the analysis, we suggest a generalized process in which CE can be enhanced. Since different approaches should be taken for managing the seed organization and spreading the characteristics depending on the strengths and weaknesses of a corporation, there must be the step, 'evaluation of corporate internal capabilities' in the process. We believe that each corporation can enhance CE by taking advantage of the process with reference to the C-Lab case study.

In many countries, such as developing countries where electricity is scarce, small wind turbines in the form of Off Grid are an effective solution to solve power supply problems. In some countries, the expansion of power systems and the decline of electricity-intensive areas have led to the use of small wind power in urban road lighting, mobile communications base stations, aquaculture and seawater desalination. With this change, the size of the small wind power industry is expected to have greater potential than large-scale wind power. In the case of small wind power generators, the generator is controlled at a variable speed, and the voltage and current generated by the generator have many harmonic components. To solve this problem, the AC to DC converter to be studied in this paper is a three-phase step-up type converter with a single switch. The inductor current is controlled in discontinuous mode, and has a characteristic of having a unit power factor by eliminating the harmonic of the input current. The proposed converter is composed of LCL filter and three phase rectification boost converter at the input stage and a single phase full bridge for grid connection. It is a control system with energy storage system(ESS) that the system stabilization can be pursued against the electric power.
In the machine learning techniques, the sampling strategy of the training data affects a performance of the prediction model such as generalizing ability as well as prediction accuracy. Especially, in landslide susceptibility analysis, the data sampling procedure is the essential step for setting the training data because the number of non-landslide points is much bigger than the number of landslide points. However, the previous researches did not consider the various sampling methods for the training data. That is, the previous studies selected the training data randomly. Therefore, in this study the authors proposed several different sampling methods and assessed the effect of the sampling strategies of the training data in landslide susceptibility analysis. For that, total six different scenarios were set up based on the sampling strategies of landslide points and non-landslide points. Then Random Forest technique was trained on the basis of six different scenarios and the attribute importance for each input variable was evaluated. Subsequently, the landslide susceptibility maps were produced using the input variables and their attribute importances. In the analysis results, the AUC values of the landslide susceptibility maps, obtained from six different sampling strategies, showed high prediction rates, ranges from 70 % to 80 %. It means that the Random Forest technique shows appropriate predictive performance and the attribute importance for the input variables obtained from Random Forest can be used as the weight of landslide conditioning factors in the susceptibility analysis. In addition, the analysis results obtained using specific sampling strategies for training data show higher prediction accuracy than the analysis results using the previous random sampling method.
Objective: The objectives were to compare variance components, genetic parameters, prediction accuracies, and genomic-polygenic estimated breeding value (EBV) rankings for milk yield (MY) and fat yield (FY) in the Thai multibreed dairy population using five single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) sets from GeneSeek GGP80K chip. Methods: The dataset contained monthly MY and FY of 8,361 first-lactation cows from 810 farms. Variance components, genetic parameters, and EBV for five SNP sets from the GeneSeek GGP80K chip were obtained using a 2-trait single-step average-information restricted maximum likelihood procedure. The SNP sets were the complete SNP set (all available SNP; SNP100), top 75% set (SNP75), top 50% set (SNP50), top 25% set (SNP25), and top 5% set (SNP5). The 2-trait models included herd-year-season, heterozygosity and age at first calving as fixed effects, and animal additive genetic and residual as random effects. Results: The estimates of additive genetic variances for MY and FY from SNP subsets were mostly higher than those of the complete set. The SNP25 MY and FY heritability estimates (0.276 and 0.183) were higher than those from SNP75 (0.265 and 0.168), SNP50 (0.275 and 0.179), SNP5 (0.231 and 0.169), and SNP100 (0.251and 0.159). The SNP25 EBV accuracies for MY and FY (39.76% and 33.82%) were higher than for SNP75 (35.01% and 32.60%), SNP50 (39.64% and 33.38%), SNP5 (38.61% and 29.70%), and SNP100 (34.43% and 31.61%). All rank correlations between SNP100 and SNP subsets were above 0.98 for both traits, except for SNP100 and SNP5 (0.93 for MY; 0.92 for FY). Conclusion: The high SNP25 estimates of genetic variances, heritabilities, EBV accuracies, and rank correlations between SNP100 and SNP25 for MY and FY indicated that genotyping animals with SNP25 dedicated chip would be a suitable to maintain genotyping costs low while speeding up genetic progress for MY and FY in the Thai dairy population.
As an initial step to understand the transitions in Korean bronze technology the present study has examined metallurgical microstructures of 8 artifacts excavated from the Silla Wang-Gyong site in Kyongju. Important trends have been found in alloy compositions and also in manufacturing processes. In the design of alloys, the Sn content was apparently changing toward the peritectic point, 22 mass %, of the Cu-Sn phase diagram while the Pb addition was intentionally avoided. This trend in composition was found accompanied by the introduction, subsequent to casting, of such special thermo-mechanical treatments as quenching and forging in artifact manufacture. In addition, the Sn content in alloys containing a significant amount of As was relatively low and no evidence of forging was observed in them. The use of quenching and forging and the rejection of Pb and As from alloys are all necessary requirements if the brittle nature of high Sn alloys is to be overcome in bronze working. This paper will show that the Wang-Gyong era corresponds to that of innovations leading to the technical climax in Korean bronze tradition, which has been maintained up to the present.

Objectives: Electrocardiograhy (ECG) is the first step in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCMP) diagnosis. For various reasons, the T wave inversion (TWI) and ECG change with time and HCMP is not easy to diagnosis. The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the association between TWI on ECG and apical HCMP. Methods: A total of 4,730 ECGs presenting TWI from January 2011 to March 2013 in Pusan National University Hospital were enrolled. 133 patients who were examined by both echocardiography and coronary angiogram were analyzed. Patients were divided into two groups: Group A (TWI ${\geq}$ 10 mm) and Group B (5 mm ${\leq}$ TWI < 10 mm). HCMP is defined by a wall thickness ${\geq}15mm$ in one or more LV myocardial segments. Apical HCMP is defined to be hypertrophy that is confined to LV apex. The patients who had ECGs with at least one month interval were divided 3 groups: Normal T wave, Abnormal T wave, and Persistent TWI. The prevalence of Apical HCMP and coronary artery disease (CAD) was reviewed among the three groups. Results: In this study there were a total 133 patients, with patients divided into Group A which had 15 patients and Group B which had 118 patients. Among the 23 patients with apical HCMP, three patients were Group A and twenty patients were Group B (P = 0.769). Regarding constancy of TWI, persistent TWI group was higher in apical HCMP than in other groups (P = 0.038). CAD had no difference between groups (P = 0.889). Conclusions: T wave negativity was not associated with incidence of apical HCMP. However, apical HCMP was diagnosed more frequently in patients with persistent TWI. Further follow up echocardiographic study is needed to evaluate the progression of apical HCMP in patients with TWI.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate inhaler device handling in elderly patients. Inhaler devices with respect to misuse and error correction were also compared. Methods: Inhaler use technique was assessed using standardized checklists at the first visit and 3-month follow-up visit after retraining. The primary outcome was difference in the acceptable use ratio among inhaler devices. Secondary outcomes included differences in error correction, the most common step of misuse, and factors affecting the accuracy of inhaler use. Results: A total of 251 patients (mean age, 76.4 years) were included. The handling of 320 devices was assessed in the study. All patients had been trained before. However, only 24.7% of them used inhalers correctly. Proportions of acceptable use for Evohaler, Respimat, Turbuhaler, Ellipta, and Breezhaler/Handihaler were 38.7%, 50.0%, 61.4%, 60.8%, and 43.2%, respectively (p=0.026). At the second visit, the acceptable use ratio had increased. There were no significant differences among inhaler types (Evohaler, 63.9%; Respimat, 86.1%; Turbuhaler, 74.3%; Ellipta, 64.6%; and Breezhaler/Handihaler, 65.3% [p=0.129]). In multivariate analysis, body mass index, Turbuhaler, and Ellipta showed positive correlations with acceptable use of inhalers, whereas Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Assessment Test score showed a negative correlation. Conclusion: Although new inhalers have been developed, the accuracy of inhaler use remains low. Elderly patients showed more errors when using pressurized metered-dose inhalers than using dry powder inhalers and soft-mist inhalers. However, there were no significant differences in misuse among inhaler devices after individual training. Results of this study suggests that repeat training is more important than inhaler type.
The academic circle of the Qing Dynasty has seen a new trend, mostly based on Han-Hak through the event of the publication of "Sagojeyo" and sought a new change in the sector of Spring Autumn-Hak as well. This study is focused on understanding and evaluation of the developmental process of especially the traditional Spring Autumn-Hak view, among some views of "Sagojeyo" by the book. "Sagojeyo" does a critical analysis of Gongyang-Hak and Gokryang-Hak and the interpretation of "Spring Autumn" made by Song-Hak scholars, and which seems a kind of preparatory step to build up a new research methodology for Spring Autumn-Hak. "Sagojeyo" emphasizes the importance of "Jwacijeon" and also points out its weaknesses and strongly demands the acceptance of strengths "Gongyangjeon" and "Gokryangjeon" have in order to compensate such demerits. Even further, it tries to evaluate Spring Autumn-Hak of the Song Dynasty objectively and reasonably as possible with no prejudice. Such analysis attitude made it possible for Spring Autumn-Hak to get a new turning point starting from the publication of "Sagojeyo". The new research methodology that comprehensively judges historical research and fidelity discourse could be one of important achievements discovered in the Han-Hak-centered academic circle in the early Qing Dynasty.
