A Study on the Characteristic Improvement of PLD-used Microstep Driver for 5 Phase Hybrid Stepping Motor (PLD를 이용한 5상 스텝모터의 마이크로스텝 구동회로의 집적화와 성능향상에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, it presents the design and implementation of a Microstep control IC using Programmable Logic Device(PLD). A Microstep driver is implemented with a 5-phase hybrid stepping motor, which has a Pentagon winding, power MOSFETs, and some devices to improve the system characteristics. The Microstep driving method is used for high performance motion control, low vibration and low noise in motor control system. The improvement of the electrical and mechanical driving characteristic of a step motor is achieved by applying microstep driver.

  • A volocity and an efficiency of an induction motor are lower than those of a DC motor. But in the control, the utility of an AC motor is more enlarged with the development of inverter. But unfortunately, in using the induction motor, it include a lot of harmonics because of switching of semi-conductor devices(SCR or Tr) in the inverter. In PCR, as the change of a firing angle $\alpha$, harmonics are changed. Hence, in this thesis analyze the harmonics and provide the region of it's application when PWM and 6-step applied to inverter. Of course, frequencies of inverter changed. Especially, in PWM a carrier ratio is changed.

  • A simple analysis method for inverter-fed induction motor using F.E.M and equivalent circuit is proposed. And an optimum shape of rotor slot for 2Hp inverter-fed induction motor is determined by combining the proposed analysis method and an optimization algorithm. Conjugate gradient method is used for the optimization algorithm. The optimization is performed for higher efficiency and reduction of harmonic loss in the inverter-fed induction motor. The optimization results are verified by comparing with those of the time-step F.E.A and the experiment.

  • In this paper, using equivalent circuit of BLDC motor in the 30W class, process of modeling the BLDC motor and calculating the parameter is shown. Through run-down-test and measuring back EMF, torque, speed and ampere, parameter that transfer function requires was gotten. In this result, for step response of BLDC motor, comparing the actual result obtained by circuit experiment with the simulation result obtained by substituting this parameter into the transfer function, it was established that process calculating parameters in this study is proper.

  • A high-accuracy magnetic field measurement device based on a cyclotron is being developed for accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). In this study, a magnetic field measurement device consisting of a Hall probe sensor, piezo-motor, and step motor was developed to measure the magnetic field of the AMS cyclotron magnet. The Hall probe sensor was calibrated to achieve positional accuracy by using polar coordinates. The measurement results between the ratchet gear and piezo-motor, which are the instruments used for driving the measurement device, were analyzed. The measurement result of the device with a piezo-motor exhibits a difference of 5 Gauss (0.04%) as compared with the simulation result.

  • Although mechatronics education in a mechanical engineering curriculum is recently recognized as important, its experimental education has been done generally in the laboratory equipped with all the apparatus and could not be done at home by students. This paper introduces experimental educations on mechatronics, e.g., digital logic circuits, 7-segment LED drive, square wave generation, microcontroller programming using assembly and C languages, timer interrupt, and step motor drive using a small 5 V power supply, a breadboard, various electronic and electric components, a microcontroller and its programmer, a step motor, and a student's PC. In the developed mechatronics course, experimental educations are scheduled in parallel with content's lectures together, and cheap and economic experimental environment is prepared for students in which students can easily practice experimental works in advance or later at home by themselves.

A Study on the Design of Small SMT Platform for Education (교육용 소형 SMT 플랫폼 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper designed and manufactured a chip mounter based on 3D printer technology that can be used for educational research or sample production to disseminate chip mounter, a core technology of SMT line. A stepper motor with open loop control is used for low cost drive design. The shortcomings of the motor's vibration and disassembly caused by the use of the step motor were compensated by the Micro-Step control method. In the chip mounter experiment, the gerber file was generated on the small chip mounter, printed at the actual size, and the solder cream was printed on the HASL-treated PCB in the same manner as the sample board fabrication. As a result of the experiment, unlike the 2012 micro components, parts such as SOIC and TQFP that require correction are twice as long as the component mounting time, but it can be confirmed that they are mounted relatively accurately. In addition, as a result of repeatedly measuring the error of the initial position 10 times, it was confirmed that a relatively small error of about 0.110mm occurs.

  • The purpose of this paper is, as a preliminary step to study on the method of analysing the torque of toothed solid iron rotor, to make an inquiry into the torque calculation formula of homogenious solid iron rotor without slot. The starting point for its theoretical analysis on torque generated by eddy current in solid iron rotor is based on the maximum air gap flux density. In solid rotor induction motor, torque generated by rotor core is considerably large in the range of large slip. The calculated value and observed value on the test machine are also examined in this paper.

  • The objective of this paper is to study on the idle speed control sing the fuzzy logic controller under load disturbance. The inputs of the fuzzy controller are error of rpm and rpm variation. The output of fuzzy controller is an ISC motor step. The airflow is controlled by the ISC motor movement and the idle speed is controlled by the airflow control. During the control, air to fuel ratio was checked by LAMBDA sensor. All experiments were carried in real vehicle.

  • Robust fuzzy logic control, PID control, and sliding mode controllers are designed to control the speed of a third order linear time-invariant model of a motor. The step response performance of each controller, applied to the motor plant, is Presented. We conclude fuzzy logic control can be a useful tool for the control engineering.
