Experimental Analysis of the Static and Dynamic Characteristics for a Pilot Proportional Pressure Control Valve (파일럿 비례압력제어밸브의 정특성 및 동특성에 관한 실험적 분석)

  • Because of the increasing demand on the high precision and high response of a machinery, proportional control valves are widely adopted at various application fields. This paper studies on the static and dynamic characteristics of a pilot proportional pressure control valve. An experimental apparatus including hydraulic pump, variable speed inverter, pressure and flow sensors and data aquisition system was set up. And various experiments such as P-Q-V curves, step responses due to input voltage and flow rate, hysteresis, frequency response of the proportional valve was carried out and the results are discussed.

  • Recently, Power Electronics system increase makes harmonics and low input power factor problem. In this paper present new analysis method of PWM Boost AC/DC Converter. This PWM AC/DC Converter is capability of unity power factor, control of DC side voltage level, generation, and near sinusoidal current in 3-phase line. The control of this type of converter is widely discussed. And this paper propose new phase convert function and analysis in steady state of system to obtain amplitude and phaser of switching function. This switching function is general solution and it can use in high power approach. And this control method show the clear meaning of control variable. This paper propose new analysis method of Boost AC/DC Converter of steady state and 3-phase 2KW experimental system show its validity.

제어 성능 향상을 위한 Modified Co-FXLMS 알고리즘의 제안

  • The Correlation FXLMS (Co-FXLMS) algorithm was developed to improve the control performance. The Co-FXLMS algorithm is realized by using an estimate of the cross correlation between the adaptation error and the filtered input signal to control the step size. In this paper, the performance of the Modified Co-FXLMS is presented in comparison with that of the CO-FXLMS algorithm. Simulation results show that active noise control using Modified Co-FXLMS is effective to control performance of algorithm and prevent divergence.

  • Tracking control of an arbitrary reference has been discussed for 7Th order 2-input 2-output non-minimum phase EGR/VGT diesel engines. To meet strict emission regulations and customer demands, the desired set points, the air-fuel ratio and the ERG flow fraction, determined from a static engine data based on engine speed and the desired fueling rate are transformed into the set points for the two sensor measurement outputs. Applying the sliding mode tracking control theory proposed by Jeong and Utkin, two step design was carried out using the bounded solution of an unstable zero dynamics for the given reference signals. This paper shows through simulations how stabilization of unstable zero dynamics and reference tracking can be accomplished simultaneously.

  • Distillation columns are widely used in almost every chemical plant. The use of multivariable control for such units is attractive because of the strong interactions exhibited between outputs and inputs and the desire to control simultaneously both top and bottom products. In this research design of a robust multivariable controller for distillation column was considered; output feedback controller with proportional and integral modes was designed using pole assignment. The transfer function matrix was obtained by fitting the step response realtions between single input double output pairs of variables. This matrix was then converted to linear time invariant state space model by multivariable realization technique. With the proposed multivariable proportional and integral controller applied to the process, the result of the digital computer simulation showed a good performance of asymtotic tracking. The limited experimental performance of this multivariable control was compared with the result from simulation. It was found that the proposed controller performed satisfactorily for the distillation column which separated binary mixture of methanol and water.

High Precision Pressure Control of a Pneumatic Chamber using a Hybrid Fuzzy PID Controller

  • A hybrid fuzzy PID controller for a pneumatic chamber is proposed in this paper. First, a mathematical model of a pneumatic pressure servocontrol system was developed where separate implementations of a PID controller and a fuzzy controller were made. The experimental results using a step input signal revealed that the PID controller accurately controlled the steady-state pressure but did not robustly handle parameter variations in the system while the fuzzy controller provided a fast rise time and low overshoot of the pressure in the system. In order to attain the advantages of both the fuzzy and PID controllers, a hybrid control scheme was developed. The experimental results show that the hybrid fuzzy PID controller proposed in this study does indeed possess the advantages of both PID and fuzzy controllers. Hence, it can be concluded that the hybrid fuzzy PID controller is suited for high-precision control of pressure in a pneumatic chamber.

  • This paper presents that a transient response can be characterized by certain parameters which are correlated to characteristic polynomial coefficients. These are characteristic ratios and characteristic pulsatances by P. Naslin [4]. We have developed an approach to control directly the transient response. Firstly, speed of the response can be controlled by reconstruction form via multipliable characteristic pulsatances. Secondly, overshoot is controlled by reconstruction form via multipliable characteristic ratios. These formulas can be independently characterized by the system overshoot and the response time to a step input.

  • This paper presents the development of an algorithm for position control of feed drives in machine tools. The algorithm is constructed through an experimental method based on proportional control with a ramp input. In the first step of designing, a tracking-error curve is generated with the proportional control, and then an error model is decided to reduce the tracking error, Next, the output signal of the error model is added to the current error signal to yield the actuating error signal. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is confirmed through simulation and experiments.

  • This paper proposes a systematic approach for an accurate control of the Terfenol-D actuator taking into account hysteresis, modeled by applying the classical Preisach operator with memory curve. A desired input displacement is calculated by using the hysteresis inverter, which is fed into the actuator. Then the PI compensator corrects the error between the commanded and actual displacements. Experiments with the step responses show that the PI controller settles in 70 ms and the hybrid controller in 20 ms. It means that the concurrent application of two control schemes is effective to control the actuator.

  • 본 연구에서는 ER 브레이크와 ER클러치를 피드백작동기로 사용하여 이송테이블의 위치 추적제어를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 아라빅 검(arabic gum)계통의 ER유체를 자체조성한 후 전기장에 대한 빙햄(Bingham)모델을 실험적으로 도출하였다. 빙햄모델에 근거하여 평판형의 ER브레이크와 실린더형의 ER클러치를 설계 제작하였으며, 계단입력(step input)전기장에 따른 출력토오크특성을 통하여 이들 작동기의 동적모델을 얻었다. 이들 작동기와 연계된 이송테이블시스템의 운동지배방정식을 유도한 후 위치추적제어를 위한 슬라이딩모드제어기를 설계하였다. 제어기 설계시 이송해이블의 부하질량 변화에 대한 시스템 불확실성과 마찰력을 고려하여 제어성능의 강건성을 보장하도록 하였다. 제안된 제어시스템의 제어영역(control bandwidth)을 주파수 영역에서 고찰한 후 여러 레적에 대한 위치추적제어 실험을 수행하였다.
