  • In this study we analyze categorical data by means of spatial statistics and echelon analysis. To do this, we first determine the hierarchical structure of a given contingency table by using echelon dendrogram then, we detect candidates of hotspots given as the top echelon in the dendrogram. Next, we evaluate spatial scan statistics for the zones of significantly high or low rates based on the likelihood ratio. Finally, we detect hotspots of any size and shape based on spatial scan statistics.

  • Recently, management based on statistical data has become a big issue and the importance of the statistics has been emphasized for the management innovation in the defense area. However, the Military Management based on the statistics is hard to expect because of the shortage of the statistics in the military. There are many military information systems having great many data created in real time. Since the infrastructure for gathering data form the many systems and making statistics by using gathered data is not equipped, the usage of the statistics is poor in the military. The Analytical Defense Statistics System is designed to improve effectively the defense management in this study. The new system having the sub-systems of Data Management, Analysis and Service can gather the operational data from interlocked other Defense Operational Systems and produce Defense Statistics by using the gathered data beside providing statistics services. Additionally, the special function for the user oriented statistics production is added to make new statistics by handling many statistics and data. The Data Warehouse is considered to manage the data and Online Analytical Processing tool is used to enhance the efficiency of the data handling. The main functions of the R, which is a well-known analysis program, are considered for the statistical analysis. The Quality Management Technique is applied to find the fault from the data of the regular and irregular type. The new Statistics System will be the essence of the new technology like as Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, Data Standardization and Statistics Analysis and will be helpful to improve the efficiency of the Military Management.

  • This thesis is purposed on developing security product co-evaluation statistics administrate program which is can administrate or analysis CC accreditation product using by DEVS modeling via portal site of member of CCRA. Via developing security product evaluation statistics administrate program, it can analysis the trend of all countries of the world in many ways, and noticed the ways of evaluation and accreditation of most countries via scheme analysis. Except this, it can analysis the situation of accreditation trend of any countries via data analysis of ICCC 2009. Also, For trend analysis to evaluation technique of CCRA member, it analyzed up to date technology and policy of the evaluation organization and the Certification Authority of most countries. And it peformed analysis the most trend of information security of evaluation authorization in CCRA member countries. In this program, It provide the function of trend statistics analysis which can statically analyzed the evaluation accreditation trends of most countries and automatical statistics by categorization ( by Product, Class and statistics in national) and report creation functions which can easily extraction and use the needed data. It has been updated the related informations until latest accredited product using by CC(Common Criteria) portal home page's data.

  • This study analyzed an aspect of co-author relationship in papers published in the Korean Journal of Applied Statistics by social network analysis. The data were extracted from 664 papers in the journal from 2000 to 2010. Authors at center of the network are detected by a network centrality analysis. Sub-network analysis found distinguishable research groups from the point of view of their topics or affiliations. The significance of affiliations to co-author relationship was examined by logistic regression analysis.

  • This study aims to find ways to improve the statistics education policy in Korea for the future based on the results from examining the high school statistics curricula in Korea and New Zealand. The statistics curriculum in New Zealand was analyzed comparatively with the corresponding contents of the probability and statistics domain in the Korea 2015 revised national mathematics curriculum. The analysis centered around achievement goals and key ideas of each of the two curricula. This comparative analysis provides implications on finding a direction in line with the global trend in the curriculum for statistics education and ultimately for Korea's statistics education for the future.

  • A general linear mixed-effects model is often used to analyze repeated measurement experiment data of a continuous response variable. However, a general linear mixed-effects model can give improper analysis results when simultaneously detecting heteroscedasticity and the non-normality of population distribution. To achieve a more robust estimation, we used a heavy-tailed linear mixed-effects model for a more exact and reliable analysis conclusion than a general linear mixed-effects model. We also provide reliability analysis results for further research.

  • The statistics of traditional korean medicine is essential aspects for the information based policy establishment and the evidence based traditional korean medicine research. But because the integrated statistics service of traditional korean medicine is not provided, people are hard to find out suitable statistics. Thus we analyzed the produced statistics from many ministries, classified it into 7 categories and extracted common fields from it. We designed the database schema by summary table dynamic production method from the analysis of statistics and designed the system composed of excel import, statistics analysis, chart creation and search engine. Finally we implemented the statistics system of traditional korean medicine which users are capable of modifying the statistics data freely. We hope that the implemented system will provide pliability in searching and finding statistical information.

  • Tweedie (1957a) proposed a method for the analysis of residuals from an inverse Gaussian population paralleling the analysis of variance in normal theory. He called it the analysis of reciprocals. In this paper, we propose a Bayesian model selection procedure based on the fractional Bayes factor for the analysis of reciprocals. Using the proposed model selection procedures, we compare with the classical tests.

  • Exploratory data analysis(EDA) is the initial stage of data analysis and provides a useful overview about the whole microarray experiment. If the experiments are replicated, the analyst should check the quality and reliability of microarray data within same experimental condition before the deeper statistical analysis. We shows EDA method focusing on the quality and reproducibility for replicates.
