  • As the development of hydrogen vehicles has accelerated in recent years, it is necessary to develop a storage tank for hydrogen fueling stations capable of high-pressure charging, and for this purpose, a new system with a compressor-embedded refueling tank is required. In this study, the parametric study of shape design based on strength performance evaluation was carried out to find the optimal shape design of bellows, the core component of compressor-embedded refueling tank for a newly developed hydrogen refueling station capable of high-pressure charging above 1,000 bar. The design factors for parametric study were contour shape and radius of bellows, and the performance factors were the maximum stress and the gap distance in the contact direction. In the shape design of the compressor bellows for hydrogen refueling station considered in this study, it was found that adjusting the contour radius is an appropriate design method to improve the compression performance and structural safety.

  • A conceptual watershed model HSPF (Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) was applied to the Hwangryong river watershed to evaluate climate change effects on pollution loads of the river. For modeling purposes, the Hwangryong river watershed was divided into 7 sub-watersheds. The model was calibrated and validated for the river discharges against the data observed in 2011 at several monitoring stations. The RCP scenarios were set up for the model simulations after being corrected by change factor method. The simulation results of the RCP 4.5 scenario indicate that the annual river discharge and concentrations of BOD, TN, TP of the Hwangryong river will continually increase during the second-half of the 21st century. As for the RCP 8.5 scenario, the simulations results imply that the pollution loads will increase during the middle of the 21st century reflecting the pattern of precipitation. Monthly distributions of the pollution loads for the RCP 4.5 and the RCP 8.5 scenarios show it will increase the most in September and February, respectively.

  • This paper describes the performance improvement of Software (SW) digital filter using GPU (Graphical Processing Unit). The previous developed SW digital filter has a problem that it operates on a CPU (Central Processing Unit) basis and has a slow speed. The GPU was introduced to filter the data of the EAVN (East Asian VLBI Network) observation to improve the operation speed and to process data with other stations through filtering, respectively. In order to enhance the computational speed of the SW digital filter, NVIDIA Titan V GPU board with built-in Tensor Core is used. The processing speed of about 0.78 (1Gbps, 16MHz BW, 16-IF) and 1.1 (2Gbps, 32MHz BW, 16-IF) times for the observing time was achieved by filtering the 95 second observation data of 2 Gbps (512 MHz BW, 1-IF), respectively. In addition, 2Gbps data is digitally filtered for the 1 and 2Gbps simultaneously observed with KVN (Korean VLBI Network), and compared with the 1Gbps, we obtained similar values such as cross power spectrum, phase, and SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). As a result, the effectiveness of developed SW digital filter using GPU in this research was confirmed for utilizing the data processing and analysis. In the future, it is expected that the observation data will be able to be filtered in real time when the distributed processing optimization of source code for using multiple GPU boards.

  • The sharing economy service is now spreading in various fields such as accommodation, cars and bicycles. In particular, bicycle-sharing service have become very popular around the world, and since September 2015, Seoul has been providing a bicycle-sharing service called 'Ttareungi'. However, the number of bicycles is unbalanced among rental stations continuously according to the user's bicycle use. In order to solve these problems, we employed social network analysis using Ttareungi data in Seoul, Korea. We analyzed degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality and k-core. As a result, the degree centrality was found to be closely linked with bus or subway transfer center. Closeness centrality was found to be in an unbalanced departure and arrival frequency or poor public transport proximity. Betweenness centrality means where the frequency of departure and arrival occurs frequently. Finally, the k-core analysis showed that Mapo-gu was the most important group by time zone. Therefore, the results of this study may contribute to the planning of relocation and additional installation of bike rental station in Seoul.

  • Distributions of organic carbon (Co$_{org}$), organic nitrogen (N$_{org}$), and heavy metals (Zn, Pb, Cr, Cu, Mn) were investigated in Lake Shihwa sediments. Surface and core samples were collected in April and September, 1997 and March, 1998 for the study. The results show that these components contents are variable with sampling timeand station. In surface sediments, both Co$_{org}$ and N$_{org}$ have similar distribution pattern in which their high contents found in stations located near the land, indicating that the streams and industrial wastes seem to act as point sources. The C$_{org}$ contents are linearly related with those of heavy metals. It appears, therefore, that the distribution of heavy metals may be partly controlled by a complex interplay of biogenic, terrestial, and anthropogenic factors. The C/N ratios from three stations are in the range of 3-32, with an average of 13.2. Vertical profiles of heavy metals in sediment cores are similar to those of C$_{org}$ and N$_{org}$. Copper content of sediments is enriched compared to that of reported value before dike construction, but Zn and Mn are not deposited considerably. Especially, Pb content show less variable. Currently, anthropogenic effects of industrial complex may not reached to drainage gate area where heavy metal contents are comparable with those adjacent to coastal sediments.

  • The core of the transportation service, so-called Mobility 4.0 is the flexibility of the entire mobility and its implementation. By doing so, the most essential element is to build a platform to link a supply and a demand simultaneously. In other word, a comprehensive analytical framework is to be set with a data repository which can be periodically updated. With such circumstances, the entire trip chain including pedestrian movements is required to be thoroughly investigated and constructed at the viewpoint of the intermodal transit station. A few studies, however, have been attempted. In this study, the comprehensive analytical framework with the integrated mobility at intermodal transit station was proposed, which consisted of the three modules; 1) Data Repository Extracting from Smart Card DB, 2) Framework of Analyzing Integrated Mobility, and 3) Interpretation of the Integrated Mobility with GIS information and the other factors. A case study with the seven railway stations (Sadang, Sindorom, Samseong, Gwanghwanoon, Gangnam, Jamsil, Seoul Nat'l Univ. of Education) was conducted. The stations of the case study were clustered by the three groups with the statistical ground, and it is most likely to understand the effect of a variety of factors and a comprehensive data-driven analyses with the entire trip stages.

  • The only method used in the power stations in order to deliver generated electric power is 6 kV XLPE (or CV) single core cables. Among many kinds of accidents happening in the power stations, the outbreak of fire due to the deterioration of live cables causes enormous socioeconomic losses. From the installation of the cables, the management and diagnose should be thoroughly made. Even though it differs depending on the installations and usage conditions, the cross-sectional area of cables is in shortage. The excessive allowable temperature caused from the current causes the deterioration of cables. In order to prevent an unexpected breakdown of live cables, we have invented a device to monitor and diagnose the status of cables. We have installed our device in the Korea Western Power Co., Ltd.. In this paper, we present our research results in situ that we have obtained by measuring the temperature of sheath, changing with the surrounding circumstances, especially ambient temperatures. We also show our study results of characteristics for temperature of sheath surface and load current at the ambient temperatures of $40^{\circ}C-10^{\circ}C$.

  • A subway system is one of the major transportation modes at a metropolitan area. When it meets the other lines, the metro station, so-called transferring station, is usually threatened by severe pedestrian congestion and safety issue of transit users including the transportation vulnerable. Although transportation planners forecast travel demand at the beginning, it is not easy to predict pedestrian flows precisely for a long term if land use plans have dramatically changed. Due to expensive costs, structural extension of metro stations is limited. Therefore, it requires efficient and technical improvements as meeting the demand of pedestrian and physical characteristics. In this study, the core mechanism of pedestrian movement-based simulation model was introduced and evacuation scenarios were analyzed with the developed model. As a result, the multiple optimal routes for unexpected events at the solid space of the multiple stories are easily searched through the simulator and in the case of Sadang Station, travel time can be reduced by 60% when the evacuation information and intuitive design are provided.

  • The Nakdong Estuary has experienced hydraulic and topographic changes over the last century, which have had negative effects of habitat loss and fragmentation. The population of Scirpus planiculmis, a major food plant for wintering birds in Nakdong Estuary, has decreased over the last decade. To identify factors that influence S. planiculmis population, 6 short core samples (about 30cm) were collected in June and August, 2018. The sand percentage was over 80% in every samples and the average sediment salinity in June and August were $17.8{\pm}1.12psu$ and $18.4{\pm}1.83psu$, respectively. ${\delta}^{13}C$ of sediment cores varied from -25.4‰ to -22.6‰ which fall within the estuarine particulate organic matters. In cores collected in Eulsuk area, the highest ${\delta}^{13}C$ values were observed at the surface (0~1cm) indicating inputs of marine POM (particulate organic matter) to the Nakdong Estuary. No significant difference between vegetation and non-vegetation stations was observed in every items we investigated which might indicate that the physicochemical environment of vegetation area is almost same as that of non-vegetation area. Therefore, the high sand percentage and sediment salinity of Nakdong Estuary might affect the reduction in S. planiculmis population.

  • Geo-location using a cellular network is a core technology for LBS together with GPS. With preamble symbols broadcasted in each frame, geo-location using WiBro network can be easily implemented. Because the WiBro network has a cellular structure, it is difficult for a mobile station to detect signals from multiple base stations. In order to get user position using trilateration, long integration techniques for sensitivity enhancement should be employed. This paper presents hybrid integration scheme for WiBro network. By analyzing coherent and non-coherent integration loss according to frequency residual and SNR respectively, optimal combination of the hybrid integration is proposed. Simulation results show that the hybrid integration method is profitable in WiBro network when the frequency residual is estimated and compensated accurately.
