선단압력을 고려한 무한폭 틸팅-패드 저어널 베어링의 정특성 및 동특성 해석 (An Analysis of the Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Infinite Width Tilting-Pad Journal Bearings in Consideration of Ram-Prssure)

  • In this paper, the influence of ram-pressure on the static and dynamic characteristics of infinite width tilting-pad journal bearing is investigated theoretically. The ram-pressure is obtained by assumption of conservation of mechanical energy of the lubricant flow through the leading edge of the pad. The pressure in the lubricating film is numerically calculated using the ram-pressure obtained as the inlet pressure boundary condition of the pad. The static equilibrium state of tilting-pad journal bearing is determined by Newton-Raphson iteration method. A numerical results are presented in graphic form and relationships between the ram-pressure and the static and dynamic characteristics are discussed.

자동차 공기스프링의 특성에 대한 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Investigation on the Characteristics of An Automotive Air Spring)

  • The analysis of an air spring characteristics is necessary to design and control automotive air suspension system properly. A mathematical model of an air spring was derived in light of energy conservation first. Then static and dynamic experiments of the air spring have been fulfilled. The static stiffness with various initial pressures and effective areas were obtained from the static experimental results. Theoretical static stiffness obtained by using the mathematical model and effective area data is in close accordance with the experimental estimation. The dynamic experimental results show that the hysteresis in displacement-force cycle decreases when the frequency of the harmonic displacement excitation signal increases, but it does not change too much as the frequency is higher than 1Hz. And the dynamic stiffness goes up with increasing of the initial pressure and the excitation frequency.

  • A 3-dimensional numerical investigation of a WIG effect vehicle with DUP (direct underside pressurization) is performed to predict aerodynamic characteristics and the static height stability. DUP can considerably reduce take-off speed and minimize the hump drag while the vehicle accelerates on the water to take off. The DUP of the model vehicle, Aircat, consists of a propeller in the middle of the fuselage and an air chamber under the fuselage. The air accelerated by the propeller comes into the camber through the channel in the middle of fuselage and augments lift by changing its dynamic pressure to static pressure dramatically. However, the air accelerated by a propeller produces excessive drag and reduces static height stability.

  • The hat shaped section members, spot welded strength resisting structures are the most energy absorbing ones of automobile components during the front-end collision. Under the static axial collapse load in velocity of 10mm/min and quasi-static collapse load in velocity of 1000mm/min, the collapse characteristics of the hat shaped section and double hat shaped section member have been analyzed by axial collapse tests with respect to the variations of spot weld pitches on the flanges. In addition, the quasi-static collapse simulations have been implemented in the same condition to the experiment's using FEM package, LS-DYNA3D. The simulated results have been verified in comparison with these from the quasi-static axial collapse tests. With the computational approaches the optimal energy absorbing structures can be suggested. Simulations are so helpful that the optimized data be supplied in designing vehicles in advance.

  • This paper presents results of FEA and tests on the characteristics of moving coil type LOA due to the static field excitation method. In case the static field is generated by NdFeB permanent magnet, the static thrust is almost 6 times than that by electromagnet. Therefore under the same power, the volume becomes small according to using permanent magnet for the generation of static field.

  • For the bolted joint of the composite structure, quasi-isotropic stacking is generally used to increase the bearing strength. For the bolted joint of uni-directional composite, the fatigue life limit of the bolted joint can be improved by applying clamping force though the static strength is still very low. In this paper, the static and fatigue characteristics of hybrid joint are investigated which can overcome the disadvantage of the bolted joint of uni-directional composite under static loading by applying adhesive joining. The experimental result shows that the static strength and fatigue life can be improved by applying clamping force to the hybrid joint and the hybrid joint is a good solution for the efficiency of the composite structures.

현장정재하시험을 이용한 말뚝 거동특성 수치해석 예측기법의 신뢰성 검증 (Reliability Verification of Numerical Prediction Method on Pile Behaviour Characteristics using Field Static Loading Test)

  • 수치해석기법을 이용한 말뚝의 거동특성 예측방법은 정재하시험비가 고가이기 때문에 공사 전 말뚝의 거동을 예측할 수 있다는 장점으로 설계단계에서 널리 이용되고 있지만 그 신뢰성에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 실제 현장에서 말뚝의 거동과 수치해석으로 예측한 말뚝의 거동을 비교함으로써 수치해석 기법의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 지반과 말뚝의 상호작용에 의한 말뚝의 거동을 정확하게 파악하기 위하여 정재하시험이 수행되는 지반에서 시추조사, 현장원위치시험 등을 통해 지반특성을 확인하였고, 실규모 정재하시험을 수행하여 말뚝의 거동특성을 분석하였다. 정재하시험이 수행된 방식과 동일하게 수치해석을 모사하여 재하시험과 동일한 하중단계에서 말뚝의 거동을 수치해석으로 모사하여 현장시험 결과와 비교함으로써 수치해석 기법의 신뢰성을 검증하였다.

  • Static characteristics of hemispherical aerodynamic bearing is studied theoretically. In this paper nonlinear equation of second order considering compressibility and slip effect of air is calculated by Newton-Raphson method. Results indicate that axial load capacity has maximum value when the inclination angle of groove is about 30$\circ$, the ratio of groove clearance to ridge clearance is two. We also present the design method of hemispherical Aerodynamic bearing based on it's load capacity taking into account manufacturing and assembling viewpoint.

  • The system of synchronous generator with power static converter are analyzed in detail and the output characteristics of generator are computed by digital simulation. The power static converter is considered as 3-phase converter in which the interlude interval and the commutation interval repeats itself six times per cycle. The synchronous generator is considered as a direct-phase quantities model for a more exact study of the performance. As the numerical method for nonlinear differential equations of the system, the Runge -Kutta method is used.

  • This paper presents static and dynamic measurement of the stress and motion characteristics for crawler type excavators. Eight scenarios were prepared for static measurement based on two extreme digging positions, maximum digging reach position and maximum digging force position. The measured items for static motion included stress, cylinder pressure, cylinder stroke and digging force. The measured static stresses showed that asymmetric digging force acting on a bucket induced higher stress level than symmetric one. The measured static pressures and digging forces also agreed with design pressures and design digging forces, respectively. The dynamic measurement was performed for two types of motion, that is, simple reciprocation of each cylinder and actual digging motion. The measured items for dynamic motion were stroke and pressure of each cylinder, stresses on the working device and acceleration on the upper plate of an arm. The measured data showed that the natural frequency of the excavator highly depended on the hydraulic stiffness of cylinders. Digging motion tests revealed that digging motion was closer to static motion rather than dynamic one.
