Input-series-output-parallel (ISOP) converters consisting of multiple modular DC/DC converters can enable low voltage rating switches to be used under high voltage input applications. This paper presents a digital control strategy, which can achieve equal sharing of input voltage for a modular ISOP system consisting of two-transistor forward DC/DC converters by forcing the input voltages of neighboring modules to be equal. The proposed scheme is analyzed using small signals analysis based on the state space average method. The performance of the proposed control strategy is verified with an experimental prototype of an ISOP converter made up of three two-switch forward converters.

The evaluation of the temperature of the motor in operation is necessary for smaller and lighter design of motors and for the determination of insulation class. And the evaluation of the temperature in thermal transient state is necessary for the determination of the intermittent rating and the protection from the thermal overload. The temperature can be calculated exactly by considering the loss distribution, the thermal resistances and the thermal capacities dependent on temperature. Using the detailed thermal equivalent circuit, the temperature of any local part of the motor can be evaluated. The comparison between the calculated results and the experiments is performed to verify the validity of the analysis.

Pumps arre used extensively for transporting fluid in many ships. However, the present state of pumps used in the large merchant ships has not been studied. In this paper, we have reported the general description of the operating pumps according to the different ship types(Bulk, Container, Car-Carrier, Tanker, LNG). Moreover, the pump total powers are compared with the main engine Normal Continuous Rating power and the pump total weights are also compared with the ship deadweight.

Slipping during various kinds of movement often leads to potentially dangerous incidents of falling. The purpose of this paper was to review some of the research performed in the field including such topics as rating scales for balance, kinematics and kinetics of slipping, adaptation to slippery conditions, postural and balance control, and protective movement during falling. Controlling slipping and fall injuries requires a multifaceted approach. Environmental conditions (state of floor surface, tidiness, lighting, etc), work task (walking, carrying, pushing, lifting, etc), and human behavior (anticipation of hazards, adaptation to risks, risk taking, etc) must be accounted for in the assessment of slip and fall-related risks. Future directions of research must deal with modeling of basic tribophysical, biomechanical, and postural control process involved in slipping and falling.

This paper presents modelling and analyzing method of centrifugal chiller which has a rated capacity of 200 RT(703 kW) through on-site performance test. Field data of chiller installed in the clean-room building of KIST have been collected, Simple models were developed for predicting the heat exchangers and system performances by regression of chiller operation data during 5 days in August. The models proposed here account for the effect of variations of cooling capacity, temperatures and flow rates of secondary fluids. The models are consistent with real performance data from June to September within ${\pm}5%$ error. The COP of centrifugal chiller are estimated under the standard rating conditions and reduced mass flow rate of chilled and cooling water.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical application of oriental medical therapy to Pick's disease We treated the patient with oriental medical therapy. The recovery of the dementia was evaluated by Korean-Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE-K), Korean-dementia Rating Scale(K-DRS) & Barthel ADL Index.(ADL) The applicability of oriental medical therapy has positive effects on the patient with Pick's disease. The Sum of MMSE-K score was increased. K-DRS & ADL were also promoted.

This paper describes a detailed performance analysis of TCSC using experiment with a scaled model. A 3-phase scaled model of TCSC was built with rating of 2kVA to verify the operation. The variable reactance of TCSC with respect to the firing angle of thyristor switch analyzed theoretically and experimentally. And the limit of TCSC operation was investigated in whole range of the thyristor firing-angle. The experimental results with scaled model were compared with the simulation results for a periodic state space model using MATLAB.

Collaborative filtering, among other recommender systems, has been known as the most successful recommendation technique. However, it requires the user-item rating data, which may not be easily available. As an alternative, some collaborative filtering algorithms have been developed recently by utilizing the market basket data in the form of the binary user-item matrix. Viewing the recommendation scheme as a two-class classification problem, we proposed a new collaborative filtering scheme using a regularized discriminant analysis applied to the binary user-item data. The proposed discriminant model was built in terms of the major principal components and was used for predicting the probability of purchasing a particular item by an active user. The proposed scheme was illustrated with two modified real data sets and its performance was compared with the existing user-based approach in terms of the recommendation precision.

In this paper, the conceptual design and FE analysis results of salient pole type alternator under no load condition are described. The designed alternator's rating is 180kW, 3-phase, 4pole, 380/220V, 0.8pf, 60Hz. The conceptual design is described by the process of designing the armature, field, and obtaining some of equivalent circuit parameters. The comparison of FE analysis to the designed results of alternator's output voltage value shows a good agreement.

Objectives: In this report, we describe two patients with central dizziness and cerebellar ataxia who were treated with traditional Korean medicine. Methods: We applied traditional Korean medicine treatments of herbal medication (Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang and Bojungikki-tang), acupuncture, and moxibustion. Results: After 31 days of treatment, we observed improvement in the central dizziness on a numeric rating scale and in the cerebellar ataxia based on the patient's ambulation state. Conclusions: Traditional Korean medicine may be effective in the treatment of central dizziness and cerebellar ataxia.
