Na-Fe Tourmalene ($NaFe_3Al_6B_3Si_6O_{27}F_4$)single crystals were grown by FZ method. The Growth conditions are counter rotation 20~30rpm, growth rate 1~5mm/hr in the atmospheric environment. The transition elements as Fe(in this research), Mn, Co, etc, are exist in the theoretical fomulae so that dopants were not added. The feed rod was sintered between $1000^{\circ}C$ and $1l00^{\circ}C$, but at higher temperature, it was difficult to manufacture the feed rod because of evaporation of the elements such as F.
As grown crystals had a black color and the length of 50~60mm, the diameter of 5~6mm. X-ray powder diffraction pattern indicated that the composition of the feed rod was right to the Tourmaline composition. By FT-IR spectra, the state of bonding of each element was charaterized.

Micro forming is a suited technology to manufacture very small metallic parts(several $mm{\sim}{\mu}m$). Al5083 superplastic alloy with very small grains has a great advantage in achieving micro deformation under low stress due to its relatively low strength at a specific high temperature range. Micro forming of $Zr_{62}Cu_{17}Ni_{13}Al_8$ bulk Metallic glass(BMG) as a candidate material for this developing process are feasible at a relatively low stress in the supercooled liquid state without any crystallization during hot deformation. In this study, the micro formability of Al5083 superplastic alloy and bulk metallic glass, $Zr_{62}Cu_{17}Ni_{13}Al_8$, was investigated with the specially designed micro vibration forming system using pyramid-shape, V-shape and U-shape micro die pattern. With these dies, micro vibration forming was conducted by varying the applied load, time. Micro formability was estimated by comparing the hight of formed shape using non-contact surface profiler system. The vibration load effect to metal flow in the micro die and improve the micro formability of Al5083 superplastic alloy and $Zr_{62}Cu_{17}Ni_{13}Al_8$ bulk Metallic glass(BMG).

The Ultrasonic metal welding is used in the solid-phase welding method at room temperature or low temperature state. In welding process, the high frequency vibration energy is delivered to the welding part under the constant pressure for welding. In this study, we aimed to design and manufacture a 40,000 Hz band horn through finite element analysis. By performing modal analysis and harmonic response analysis, the modal analysis result is that the horn frequency was 39,599Hz and the harmonic response result that the horn frequency was 39,533Hz. These results were similar. In order to observe the designed horn's performance, about 4,000 voltage data was obtained from a light sensor and was analyzed by FFT analysis using Origin Tool. The result RMS amplitude was approximately $8.5{\mu}m$ at 40,000Hz, and maximum amplitude was $12.3{\mu}m$. Using this manufactured horn along with an ultrasonic metal welder and tension tester, the weldability of Cu sheets was evaluated. The maximum tensile force was 66.53 N in the welding condition of 2.0 bar pressure, 60% amplitude, and 0.32 s welding time. In excessive welding conditions, it was revealed that weldability is influenced negatively.

Generally there is no law and liability system which applies particulary to commercial space ventures. There are several international treaties and national statutes which deal with space ventures, but their impact on the liability of commercial space ventures has not been significant. Every state law in the United States will impose both tort and contract liability on those responsible for injuries or losses caused by defective products or by services performed negligently. As with the providers of other products and services, those who participate in commercial space ventures have exposure to liability in both tort and contract which is limited to the extent of the resulting damage The manufacturer of a small and cheap component which caused a satellite to fail to reach orbit or to operate nominally has the same exposure to liability as the provider of launch vehicle or the manufacturer of satellite into which the component was incorporaded. Considering the enormity of losses which may result from launch failure or satellite failure, those participated in commercial space ventures will do their best to limit their exposure to liability by contract to the extent permitted by law. In most states of the United States, contracts which limit or disclaim the liability are enforceable with respect to claims for losses or damage to property if they are drafted in compliance with the requirements of the applicable law. In California an attempt to disclaim the liability for one's own negligence will be enforceable only if the contract states explicitly that the parties intend to have the disclaimer apply to negligence claims. Most state laws of the United States will refuse to enforce contracts which attempt to disclaim the liability for gross negligence on public policy grounds. However, the public policy which favoured disclaiming the liability as to gross negligence for providers of launch services was pronounced by the United States Congress in the 1988 Amendments to the 1984 Commercial Space Launch Act. To extend the disclaimer of liability to remote purchasers, the contract of resale should state expressly that the disclaimer applies for the benefit of all contractors and subcontractors who participated in producing the product. This situation may occur when the purchaser of a satellite which has failed to reach orbit has not contracted directly with the provider of launch services. Contracts for launch services usually contain cross-waiver of liability clauses by which each participant in the launch agrees to be responsible for it's own loss and to waive any claims which it may have against other participants. The crosswaiver of liability clause may apply to the participants in the launch who are parties to the launch services agreement, but not apply to their subcontractors. The role of insurance in responding to many risks has been critical in assisting commercial space ventures grow. Today traditional property and liability insurance, such as pre-launch, launch and in-orbit insurance and third party liability insurance, have become mandatory parts of most space projects. The manufacture and pre-launch insurance covers direct physical loss or damage to the satellite, its apogee kick moter and including its related launch equipment from commencement of loading operations at the manufacture's plant until lift off. The launch and early orbit insurance covers the satellite for physical loss or damage from attachment of risk through to commissioning and for some period of initial operation between 180 days and 12 months after launch. The in-orbit insurance covers physical loss of or damage to the satellite occuring during or caused by an event during the policy period. The third party liability insurance covers the satellite owner' s liability exposure at the launch site and liability arising out of the launch and operation in orbit. In conclusion, the liability in commercial space ventures extends to any organization which participates in providing products and services used in the venture. Accordingly, it is essential for any organization participating in commercial space ventures to contractually disclaim its liability to the extent permitted by law. To achieve the effective disclaimers, it is necessary to determine the applicable law and to understand the requirements of the law which will govern the terms of the contract. A great deal of funds have been used in R&D for commercial space ventures to increase reliability, safety and success. However, the historical reliability of launches and success for commercial space ventures have proved to be slightly lower than we would have wished for. Space insurance has played an important role in reducing the high risks present in commercial space ventures.

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the level of market size and market share of domestic research equipments for analyzing the difference of the number and amount of construction by the manufacturing countries in the basic and analytical science fields based on the information of the research equipment invested by the Korean government for the past 14 years. As of January 1 2019, from 2005 to 2018, 20,687 research facilities & equipments (main equipment with a construction cost of 30 million won or more) built in the basic and analytical science fields were selected for this study and their components, standard classification, number of construction, and amount of construction by country of manufacture were analyzed. Differences of the number and amount of construction among manufacturing countries were tested using a single sample chi-square test and one-way analysis of variance, followed by Bonferroni's post-hoc test. As a result of this study, the number of construction (p<.001) and construction amount (p<.05) were statistically different for each manufacturing country. The level of market size and market share was significantly different according to the equipment standard classification (p<.05). Therefore, differentiated strategies of the government and policy research projects will be required for each type of equipment and amount in order to support the policy for the localization of research equipment.

In order to manufacture a semiconductor circuit, etching, cleaning, and deposition processes are repeated. During these processes, the inside of the processing chamber is exposed to corrosive plasma. Therefore, the coating of the inner wall of the semiconductor equipment with a plasma-resistant material has been attempted to minimize the etching of the coating and particle contaminant generation. In this study, we synthesized yttrium oxyfluoride (YOF) powder by a solid-state reaction using Y2O3 and YF3 as raw materials. Mixing ratio of the Y2O3 and YF3 was varied from 1.0:1.0 to 1.0:1.6. Effects of the mixing ratio on crystal structure and microstructure of the synthesized YOF powder were investigated using XRD and FE-SEM. The synthesized YOF powder was successfully applied to plasma spray coating process on Al substrate.
The basic mechanistic aspects of the interaction and practical considerations related to polymer ablation were briefly reviewed. Photochemical and photothermal effects, which highly depend on laser wavelength have close correlation with each other. In this study, multi-scanning laser ablation processing of polymer with a DPSS (Diode Pumped Solid State) 3rd harmonic Nd:YVO$_4$ laser (355 nm) was developed to fabricate a three-dimensional micro shape. Polymer fabrication using DPSSL has some advantages compared with the conventional polymer ablation process using KrF and ArF laser with 248 nm and 193 nm wavelength. These advantages include pumping efficiency and low maintenance cost. And this method also makes it possible to fabricate 2D patterns or 3D shapes rapidly and cheaply because CAD/CAM software and precision stages are used without complex projection mask techniques. Photomachinability of polymer is highly influenced by laser wavelength and by the polymer's own chemical structure. So the optical characteristics of polymers for a 355 nm laser source is investigated experimentally and theoretically. The photophysical and photochemical parameters such as laser fluence, focusing position, and ambient gas were considered to reduce the plume effect which re-deposits debris on the surface of substrate. These phenomena affect the surface roughness and even induce delamination around the ablation site. Thus, the process parameters were tuned to optimize for gaining precision surface shape and quality. This maskless direct photomachining technology using DPSSL could be expected to manufacture tile prototype of micro devices and molds for the laser-LIGA process.
