As the elderly population is becoming an aging society, the elderly are experiencing many problems. Social security costs for the elderly are increasing and the un-linked social phenomenon is emerging. Thus, the social infrastructure and welfare system established in the past economic growth period are in danger of not functioning properly. People socially isolated or with chronic diseases among the elderly are exposed to various accidents. Thus, an active healthcare management service is imperative. Additionally, in the event of a dangerous situation, the system must have ways to notify guardians (family or medical personnel) regarding appropriate action. Thus, in this paper, we propose the smartphone-based healthcare and emergency response service platform. The proposed service platform aggregates movement of relevant data in real-time using a smartphone. Based on aggregated data, it will always recognize the user's movements and current state using the human motion recognition mechanism. Thus, the proposed service platform provides real-time status monitoring, activity reports, a health calendar, location-based hospital information, emergency situation detection, and cloud messaging server-based efficient notification to several subscribers such as family, guardians, and medical personnel. Through this service, users or guardians can augment the level of care for the elderly through the reports. Also, if an emergency situation is detected, the system immediately informs guardians so as to minimize the risk through immediate response.

The purpose of this study is to review recent trends and major emerging problems and explore alternatives of Korean social welfare service policies. The concerns on social welfare service are triggered by the issues of rapid getting lower birth rate and severe growing rate of old people. These concerns resulted in the expansions of social welfare services. But Korean social welfare service systems are not prepared for these expansions. Presenting problems are disconnection between state and local governments, not securing minimum standards on accessibility and service provision, excessive concerns on making caring jobs and lacking in securing of safety and rights of vulnerable service users. As alternatives, this study proposes the integration of market approaches which can facilitate service user's choice and anti-market schemes which could act against the negative effects of market approaches.

Task scheduling is one of the key issues in improving system performance and optimizing resource management in cloud computing environment. In order to provide appropriate services for heterogeneous users, we propose a novel task scheduling strategy with service differentiation, in which the delay sensitive tasks are assigned to the rapid cloud with high-speed processing, whereas the fault sensitive tasks are assigned to the reliable cloud with service restoration. Considering that a user can receive service from either local SaaS (Software as a Service) servers or public IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) cloud, we establish a hybrid queueing network based system model. With the assumption of Poisson arriving process, we analyze the system model in steady state. Moreover, we derive the performance measures in terms of average response time of the delay sensitive tasks and utilization of VMs (Virtual Machines) in reliable cloud. We provide experimental results to validate the proposed strategy and the system model. Furthermore, we investigate the Nash equilibrium behavior and the social optimization behavior of the delay sensitive tasks. Finally, we carry out an improved intelligent searching algorithm to obtain the optimal arrival rate of total tasks and present a pricing policy for the delay sensitive tasks.

In this study, I investigated how pre-service teachers (PSTs) proved three geometric problems by using Geometer's SketchPad (GSP) software. Based on observations in class and results from a test of geometric reasoning, eight PSTs were sorted into four of the five van Hiele levels of geometric reasoning, which were then used to predict the PSTs' levels of reasoning on three tasks involving proofs using GSP. Findings suggested that the ways the PSTs justified their geometric reasoning across the three questions demonstrated their different uses of GSP depending on their van Hiele levels. These findings also led to the insight that the notion of "proof" had somewhat different meanings for students at different van Hiele levels of thought. Implications for the effective integration of technology into pre-service teacher education programs are discussed.

Media service model is divided into 3 models that are Client Pull, Server Push, and IPP(Interleaving Pull & Push) model. In most single VOD(Video On Demand) environment, Client Pull model was sufficient to play the movie Because most media contents has a low bitrate and resolution. But according to an increment of the demand of the high definition media, Client Pull model is not sufficient. Parallel VOD environment is made of several of VOD servers and provides the parallel media stream simultaneously for one client. We compared and analyzed the performance of service models with respect to network delay and data size in buffer in the single and parallel VOD environment and we found that IPP service model keeps the least network delay and stable client buffer state in the parallel VOD environment.

In this study, services for promoting health were provided to kindergarten children. As u-Health services for children, services centered of positioning of children are provided. However, since problems related with obesity and mental health are increasing day by day due to westernized eating habits, the necessity of physical and mental health care for children is on the rise. Considering this state, in this study, experiments of u-Health services under the concept of wellness were conducted on kindergarten children. For physical health, the children's obesity was controlled and for mental health, services of diagnosing hyperactivity disorder which is a sub symptom of ADHD were provided. Based on the results, it could be identified that parents' satisfaction and children's health conditions were improved.

The number of users and applications of the Internet is increasing and network traffic is increased in proportion to that enormous]y. Application and services, which are provided from a relatively long distance away, running on wide area network are not independent of the current network state. As a multimedia service is provided to a lot of users over the Internet, network status is one of factors to be considered in providing high quality of multimedia service. In this parer, one of methods to get network information is discussed and it is applied to a multimedia service.

This paper deals with how Korea Post establishes a nation wide network of the parcel warehouse & distribution centers(PWDC). The state-of-the-art of the parcel service business in Japan and U.S. are introduced for benchmarking purpose. Potential customers of the PWDC and their major goods are identified. Current major customers of the Korea Post were interviewed to figure out the potential demand of the PWDC service. Five-year volume estimation of the Korea Parcel Service(KPS) is presented based on the past 30-month B-C volume of the four major door-to-door delivery service companies in Korea. Yearly construction plan of the PWDCs is proposed; and the networking strategy of PWDC is discussed.

It is childhood yet in uTradeHub system practical use. According as company's necessity of cost-saving is increased according to trade terms aggravation such as uncertainty of international money market, commodities prices rise, necessity of e-trade practical use in company is increased. Use is inevitable by state that link with e-Nego and e-B/L service with related presentation e-L/C banks is not made. At the present users are doing specification only service this main point, and practical use activation through public information and marketing about service is needed situation because most of, companies which is not using service, do not know about existence availability of uTradeHub system, usage, availability. This study presented five such as early materialization of user center's link and integration, medium and small enterprises e-trade participation extension, utilization ratio raising through government's public information, e-trade cooperation business activation between the country, electronic documents standardization etc. by prompting competition about practical use of uTradeHub system.

In this paper, an efficient Adaptive quality-of-service (QoS) traffic control scheme with priority scheduling is proposed for the multimedia traffic transmission over wireless access networks. The objective of the proposed adaptive QoS control (AQC) scheme is to realize end-to-end QoS, to be scalable without the excess signaling process, and to adapt dynamically to the network traffic state according to traffic flow characteristics. Here, the reservation scheme can be used over the wireless access network in order to get the per-flow guarantees necessary for implementation of some kinds of multimedia applications. The AQC model is based on both differentiated service model with different lier hop behaviors and priority scheduling one. It consists of several various routers, access points, and bandwidth broker and adopts the IEEE 802.1 le wireless radio technique for wireless access interface. The AQC scheme includes queue management and packet scheduler to transmit class-based packets with different per hop behaviors (PHBs). Simulation results demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed AQC scheme.
