  • An LED (light emitting diode) has the advantages of lower power consumption, energy saving, high efficiency, long lifetime, and environmental friendliness so that it has been getting the spotlight as a next-generation light source. Thus, the application range of an LED has been extended to various fields including indoor and outdoor lighting. Recently, the high efficient LED lighting has been developed, an LED has been extended its market rapidly every year and is expected to replace the general light source within near future. In this study were measured electrical and optical properties for 6 types of LED bulbs which are being developed to replace the general incandescent lamps, and were analysed under the standard of the omnidirectional lamp required by the Energy Star.

  • In this paper, we propose efficient LED lighting control algorithm using a David star magic square. Such algorithms increases the power reduction, the heat efficiency and LED life cycle and the efficiency of the LED lighting control consumption. Lighting system using existing Magic square algorithm could be reduced to increase the heat efficiency of the LED because the LED lighting time of the reduced cross-lighting. but it has a limit to the lighting control. If should apply the this proposed algorithm, can reduces power consumption and increases LED life-cycle, heat efficiency of LED lighting module and efficiency of the lighting control of the LED. This paper proposed that algorithm is by using a David star magic square on the LED Matrix. Divided into twelve areas to move the pattern in constant time interval, to perform the cross rotation and inversion techniques to thereby light up. In this paper proposed algorithm of this paper was compared with existing Magic square approach. As a result, power consumption and heat-value and luminous flux was reduced as the conventional lighting system. And, the LED lighting control increase the efficiency.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to identify the factors which affect the performance of Chinese web drama. Design/methodology/approach - For empirical investigation, 163 web dramas which were listed in AiQiyi platform were used as the sample. It was hypothesized that number of explanatory variables drawn from previous research, including the power of producing company, and star power of actors and actresses, average length of an episode, genre of the drama, viewer ratings, existence of exclusive SNS account and the use of existing IP, would influence the performance of the drama measured by cumulative hit number. A hierarchical regression analysis is conducted to test hypotheses. Findings - Results show that star power of actors and actresses, average length of an episode, viewer ratings and the use of IP indeed affect the performance of Chinese web drama. Research implications or Originality - As the first empirical study of this kind, this study may help not only domestic but also global participants of fast growing Chinese web drama industry.

  • Turbulence is a phenomenon which largely determines the density and velocity fields in molecular clouds. Turbulence can produce density fluctuation which triggers a gravitational collapse, and it can also produce a non-thermal pressure against gravity. Therefore, turbulence controls the mode and tempo of star formation. However, despite many years of study, the properties of turbulence remain poorly understood. As part of the Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory (TRAO) Key Science Program (KSP), "apping Turbulent properties In star-forming MolEcular clouds down to the Sonic scale (TIMES; PI: Jeong-Eun Lee)", we have mapped two star-forming clouds, the Orion A and the ${\rho}$ Ophiuchus molecular clouds, in 3 sets of lines (13CO 1-0/C18O 1-0, HCN 1-0/HCO+ 1-0, and CS 2-1/N2H+ 1-0) using the TRAO 14-m telescope. We aim to map entire clouds with a high-velocity resolution (~0.05 km/s) to compare turbulent properties between two different star-forming environments. We will present the preliminary results using a statistical method, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), that is a useful tool to represent turbulent power spectrum.

  • Required power and solar array sizing of KOMPSAT-2 have been analyzed by ASTRIUM and KARI in November, 2000. There are Electrical Power Subsystem(EPS) design discrepancies between ASTRIUM and Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI) according to heritage program, EPS operation concepts, power source and the characteristic of the electrical boxes. To design the power system of KOMPSAT-2, ASTRIUM has used the EPS design of the CHAMP and GlobalStar program. But SSTI, TOMS-EP and KOMPSAT-1's design concepts has been used for KOMPSAT-2 EPS design by the KARI. To get the design conclusion, there are many trade-off meetings for the EPS sizing using each sides' heritage program and EPS operation concept. And the EPS design factors and approaching methods have been reviewed and discussed. In addition the EPS design results from ASTRIUM and KARI are summarized in this paper.

  • The Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) with full bridge cells is available for utility interactive inverter in high voltage line. When it is interconnected with power line, it is possible to control the active power flow in order to supply or charge the power in the line. This research applied the MMC to grid connection system of distributed generator and a power flow control for the MMC is investigated. Theory of power flow between the MMC and the power line is described and control method of power flow and capacitor voltages on arm cells for the MMC are proposed. And effectiveness of the proposed control method is presented by simulation.

  • We present a comparative study of CO and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission toward a region including the massive star-forming regions of NGC 6334 and NGC 6357. We use the NANTEN $^{12}CO(J=1-0)$ data and the AKARI $9{\mu}m$ All-Sky diffuse map in order to evaluate the calibration accuracy of the AKARI data. We confirm that the overall CO distribution shows a good spatial correspondence with the PAH emission, and their intensities exhibit a good power-law correlation with a spatial resolution down to 4' over the region of $10^{\circ}{\times}10^{\circ}$. We also reveal poorer correlation for small scale structures between the two quantities toward NGC 6357, due to strong UV radiation from local sources. Larger scatter in the correlation toward NGC 6357 indicates higher ionization degree and/or PAH excitation than that of NGC 6334.

  • We develop a parallel cosmological hydrodynamic simulation code designed for the study of formation and evolution of cosmological structures. The gravitational force is calculated using the TreePM method and the hydrodynamics is implemented based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics. The initial displacement and velocity of simulation particles are calculated according to second-order Lagrangian perturbation theory using the power spectra of dark matter and baryonic matter. The initial background temperature is given by Recfast and the temperature uctuations at the initial particle position are assigned according to the adiabatic model. We use a time-limiter scheme over the individual time steps to capture shock-fronts and to ease the time-step tension between the shock and preshock particles. We also include the astrophysical gas processes of radiative heating/cooling, star formation, metal enrichment, and supernova feedback. We test the code in several standard cases such as one-dimensional Riemann problems, Kelvin-Helmholtz, and Sedov blast wave instability. Star formation on the galactic disk is investigated to check whether the Schmidt-Kennicutt relation is properly recovered. We also study global star formation history at different simulation resolutions and compare them with observations.

  • We present the radial variations of the scale heights and the vertical velocity dispersions in a sample of nearby edge-on galaxies using BIMA/CARMA $^{12}CO$ ($J=1{\rightarrow}0$), VLA/EVLA HI, and Spitzer $3.6{\mu}m$ data. Both the disk thicknesses and the velocity dispersions of gas and stars vary with radius, contrary to assumptions of previous studies. We investigate how the interstellar gas pressure and the gravitational instability parameter differ from values derived assuming constant velocity dispersions and scale heights. Using the measurement of the disk thicknesses and the derived radial profiles of gas and stars, we estimate the corresponding volume densities. The gravitational instability parameter Q follows a fairly uniform profile with radius and is ${\geq}1$ across the star-forming disk. The star formation law has a slope that is significantly different from those found in more face-on galaxy studies. The midplane gas pressure appears to roughly hold a power-law correlation with the midplane volume density ratio (${\rho}_{H2}/{\rho}_{HI}$).
