MODULI OF SELF-DUAL METRICS ON COMPLEX HYPERBOLIC MANIFOLDS

  • On compact complex hyperbolic manifolds of complex dimension two, we show that the dimension of the space of infinitesimal deformations of self-dual conformal structures is smaller than that of the deformation obstruction space and that every self-dual metric with covariantly constant Ricci tensor must be a standard one upto rescalings and diffeomorphisms.

  • It has been conjectured that, on a compact orient able manifold M, a critical point of the total scalar curvature functional restricted the space of unit volume metrics of constant scalar curvature is Einstein. In this paper we show that if a manifold is a 3-dimensional warped product, then (M, g) cannot be a critical point unless it is isometric to the standard sphere.

  • On a compact n-dimensional manifold M, it has been conjectured that a critical point metric of the total scalar curvature, restricted to the space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of volume 1, should be Einstein. The purpose of the present paper is to prove that a 3-dimensional manifold (M,g) is isometric to a standard sphere if ker $s^*_g{{\neq}}0$ and there is a lower Ricci curvature bound. We also study the structure of a compact oriented stable minimal surface in M.

대역확산방법을 이용한 웨이블릿 기반의 비디오 워터마킹 (A Video Watermarking Based on Wavelet Transform Using Spread Spectrum Technique)

  • 본 논문에서는 영상의 에너지 분포에 따른 통계적 특성과 대역확산방법 (direct sequence spread spectrum)을 이용한 웨이블릿 기반의 비디오 워터마킹(watermarking) 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서는 원 비디오를 공간 영역에서 움직임의 다소에 따라 분류된 움직임이 큰 영역과 움직임이 적은 영역을 공간계차측정 (spatial difference metric)방법에 의해 나누어진 장면 (scene) 단위로 각각 3차원 DWT와 2차원 DWT를 수행하여 3 레벨 및 2 레벨로 각각 분해한다. 비가시성과 견고성을 만족시키기 위해 기저대역을 제외한 레벨 3 및 레벨 2에서 부대역 계수값의 표준편차를 이용하여 문턱값을 정하고 워터마크가 삽입될 계수를 각각 선택한다. 그리고 워터마크(watermark)는 시각적인 정보를 가진 이진 영상으로 임의 교환 (random permutation) 후 대역확산방법을 이용하여 비디오 워터마크로 대체되어 선택된 계수에 삽입된다. 제안한 방법의 성능 평가를 위한 모의실험 결과에서 기존의 방법보다 비가시성 및 견고성이 우수함을 확인하였다.

Diagnostic Study of Problems under Asymptotically Generalized Least Squares Estimation of Physical Health Model

  • This study examined those problems noticed under the Asymptotically Generalized Least Squares estimator in evaluating a structural model of physical health. The problems were highly correlated parameter estimates and high standard errors of some parameter estimates. Separate analyses of the endogenous part of the model and of the metric of a latent factor revealed a highly skewed and kurtotic measurement indicator as the focal point of the manifested problems. Since the sample sizes are far below that needed to produce adequate AGLS estimates in the given modeling conditions, the adequacy of the Maximum Likelihood estimator is further examined with the robust statistics and the bootstrap method. These methods demonstrated that the ML methods were unbiased and statistical decisions based upon the ML standard errors remained almost the same. Suggestions are made for future studies adopting structural equation modeling technique in terms of selecting of a reference indicator and adopting those statistics corrected for nonormality.

HDR 이미지를 위한 단면 톤 매핑 개선 알고리즘 구현 (Improved Algorithm of Sectional Tone Mapping for HDR Images)

  • High dynamic range (HDR) technology has been drawing attention in the field of imaging and consumer entertainment. As tools for capturing and creating HDR contents, encoding, and transmission evolve to support HDR formats, various display capabilities are being developed and increased. Hence, there is need for remapping native HDR imagery for display on lower quality legacy standard dynamic range (SDR) displays. This operation is referred to as tone mapping. In this paper, we present a sectional tone mapping method by Lenzen, and expand upon a tone mapping approach to improve temporal stability while maintaining picture quality. Compared to the existing block-based sectional tone mapping, our method uses the edge awareness-based tone mapping. We estimate the performance of the objective metric on temporal flickering. The experimental result shows that the algorithm maintains a smoother relationship between the output luminance values, and this reveals success in reducing halos and improving temporal stability with adopted edge aware filtering.
