The purpose of the study is to assess and evaluate methods employed in nutrition surveys and to give an information on methodological considerations for future studies in Korea. Three hundred thirty six papers of nutritional surveys published from 1960 to 1990 were classified into 9 groups according to the survey subject and analyzed for methods used in survey. The frequency of publications according to the survey subject was as the following order : 'in-fants and preschool children' 'school age children' 'adolescence' 'college students' 'preg-nant and lactating women' 'housewives' 'the elderly' 'workers' and 'patients' Eighty five percents of papers applied methods of dietary assessment. of which weighing method recall method an record method were extensively used in the order. Questionnairs included items related to nutrition such as food habit nutrition knowledge etc. Anthropometric techniques were employed in 53% of papers and in general growth measurement were undertaken for children and body composition was emphasized for adults. biochemical assessment was limited to 32% of papers and assessment of anemia was the major test. Clinical studies were applied to 26% of the studies. of which only 5% employed examination of clinical signs of malnutrition Recently self-reported health status assessed using questionnaires has been adopted frequently. Further researches are required for evaluation of the methods employed in nutrition surveys in order to develop the standard model for nutrtion survey so that obtained data can become more reliable and utilized efficiently.
the present thesis aims to contribute to the further development of the men's wear indus-try in Korea which now confronts the need to adjust itself more actively to the conditions of the coming age of internationalization and free trade. To achieve this this thesis suggests the trade should provide for the changing domestic needs on theone hand and refine its wares as high value-added products in compe-tition with those from the advanced countries in fashion industry on the other, The history of the 'suit' the standard men's attire dates back to 1850 when the 'Ditto suit' was introduced composed of coat waist coat vest and trousers to remain virtually unchanged till the end of the nineteenth cen-tury and the modern men's wear originated in Britain. In Korea since the introduction of western clothes from 1876 custom-made suits had been dominant until 1944 while western clothes earned popular currency between 1945 and 1964 and ready-made suits began to spread with their advantages recognized in terms of practicality convenience and functionality The next phase from 1965 to 1985 witnessed the establishment of a number of ready-made brands although custom-made suits stayed in their height of prosperity until 1975. The turn-ing point for the men's wear industry came in 1975 when high-calss ready-made brands be-gan to turn up with the arrival of large companies in the market matching the change in consumers' life style. The men's wear market went through further diversification and specialization dur-ing the years between 1985. and 1990. Around the year 1990 however the expansion of the business suit industry came to slow down ac-companied by an oversupplied market. The fashion of pragmatism in the 1990s called for the growth of the casual wear department and as consumers' life style became more and more individualized conscious dressing in accord ance with T.P.O established itself as an important branch of culture, Such casual boom is likely to aid in promoting Korea's men's wear indus-try to peer with that of advanced countries. Consumers' fashion sense is now ahead of the trade's as well as being shortcycled highly individualized stylized and diversified. To meet consumers' demands under such circum-stances each company is required to develop its unique soft Know How based on accurate information and strategically specialized plan-ning. The trade should convert its hithero producer-oriented strategy to a new consumer oriented one and actively lead the needs and purchasin g pattern of consumers by providing an efficient and reasonable price policy with optimum supply of merchandise and also by presenting 'our' trend suited to our circum-stances.
As performance-based design (PBD) has a direct impact on evacuation safety assessments, designing fire scenarios based on real fire tests is essential. To improve the reliability of the PBD for fire safety in multiplexes, information on fire behavior, such as heat release rate (HRR) and fire spread rate, are provided in this study by conducting a standard fabric flammability test. To this end, several chairs were arranged in a pattern that resembled a theater-style seating. The peak HRR and heating value per unit mass for each chair ranged from 415 kW to 988 kW and 15.2 MJ/kg to 23.8 MJ/kg, respectively. The heating values per unit mass of the new and old chairs were 23.6 MJ/kg and 16.7 MJ/kg, respectively. As the quantity of plastic and cushioning materials in the new chairs was more than that of the old ones, the new chairs were more vulnerable to fire hazards. Furthermore, when the chairs were arranged in a line, the fire spread rate was observed to be 0.39-0.42 m/min, regardless of the ignition location. Finally, a fire growth curve showing the peak HRR and fire spread rate was also demonstrated.

This study was conducted to develop stem taper equations and stem volume tables for Eucalyptus pellita and Acacia mangium plantations in Kalimantan, Indonesia. To derive a most adequate taper equation for the plantations, three models - Max & Burkhart, Kozak, and Lee models - were applied and their fitness were statistically analyzed by using fitness index, bias, and standard error of bias. The result showed that there is no significant difference between the three models, but the fitness index was slightly higher in the Kozak model. Therefore, the Kozak model was chosen for generating stem taper equations and stem volume tables for the Eucalyptus pellita and Acacia mangium plantations. The resulted stem volume table was compared to the local volume table used in Kalimantan regions, but no significant difference was found in the stem volume estimation. It is expected that the results of this study would provide a good information about the tree growth in abroad plantations and support a reliable decision-making for their management.
The basis of economic statistics for evaluating the security industry's growth and inter-industry impacts is to create a standardized industry classification along with the scope of the security industry. The industrial classification should be written in such a way that it complies with and complies with the standards of the international and domestic standardized standard industrial classifications. Representative classifications of information security, physical security, and convergence security as well as classification of products and services related to security at present are not in line with the criteria of industrial classification based on the characteristics of production activities for products. The results of the convergence security industrial classification study are also consumer-oriented classification, which differs from the supplier-centric classification officially used in statistics, law, and policy enforcement in the present country. In this study, we first summarized the criteria of Korean and international industrial classification, and then examined whether the current classification of security meets these criteria. Next, to examine the classification directions of newly formed industries such as security industry, we reviewed some cases of domestic industrial special classification and types, and proposed the industrial classification criteria and direction of the security industry on the basis of them.
The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify the homecare needs of patients with cancer and to provide a basis of interventions. One hundred and two patients at one general hospital in Gyeongnam responded to a questionnaire developed on the basis of care needs perceived by nurses caring for hospitalized patients with cancer. The questionnaire was a Likert type 5 point scale with 56 items on five need categories ; 1) informational 2) physical care : 3) emotional care 4) socioeconomic care and 5) special care needs. Internal consistency of this questionnaire was Cronbach's $\alpha$=.9101 for total items. The data was collected from March 1st to May 31th, 1998, by two graduate nurses. In the data analysis, mean & standard deviation were calculated to identify the degree of care need of each item, and the t-test & ANOVA were done to determine the effects of patients' demographic background on their care needs. The findings are summarized as follows ; 1) The mean score of total of need items was 3.048. Of the four need categories the highest score was informational at 3.4, followed by emotional care, 3.063, physical care, 2.623, and socioeconomic care, 2.599. 2) In the informational need category there were four subcategories with 19 items. Medication and pain control had the highest score, 3.755 ; second was diet and exercise, 3.613 ; third was disease and treatment process, 3.337 ; and last was personal hygiene and infection prevention at 2.687. 3) In the physical care need category there was nine items, IV infusion for nutrition and management of treatment complication was above 3.2 points and the remaining items were in the 2.847-2.070 score ranges. 4) In the emotional care need category there were seven items. The highest need was in support for relationships with health personnel, 3.673. The need for support of religions beliefs and support for having a religion were low at about 2 points. 5) In the socioeconomic care need category there were six items. Support for medical insurance expansion and financial support were above 3 points. Legal support and support for caring of children were low in the care needs. 6) In the special care need category the there were 15 items. Informational need about immunization and informational need about effects of disease on growth and development were high, above 4.1 points. Need for decubitus care and prevention, sitz bath and incontinence care were low, below 2 points. 7) There were significant differences in degree of care need according to admission rate, education level, marital status, religion and caregiver's religion. In conclusion, homecare needs perceived by hospitalized patient's with cancer was moderate, but informational need was higher than direct care need, leading to the conclusion that the provision of sufficient information to patients with cancer at discharge is needed. Nursing interventions should be developed considering the patient's background.
Although there has been a significant increase in breast-feeding (BF) rate in Korea, it is plateaued since 2008 and still low compared with that of other countries. Because BF has been related to lower obesity prevalence in many studies and the increase in childhood obesity became evident in Korea, we wondered if a relatively lower BF rate has anything to do with this increase. Therefore, we looked into the relationship between mode & duration of BF during infancy and weight status of toddlers using the data from Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2008 through 2011. Number of 2-3 year old toddlers with complete information on BF, anthropometry and normal birth weight was 674. While 87% of them were ever-breastfed, 6.2% each of them were either obese or overweight based on the Standard Growth Chart for Korean Children. Not only the obesity prevalence was different among groups of different mode of feeding, but also the mean duration of BF was significantly longer in normal weight group (9.2 mo.) compared with obese group (5.5 mo.). Accordingly, overweight and obesity prevalence of the toddlers breast-fed for 12 months or longer was significantly lower than that of the toddlers breast-fed for less than 12 months (OR 0.53, 95% CI 0.32-0.87). This study revealed that both BF and duration of BF affect the childhood obesity and, BF for 12 months or longer should be encouraged more aggressively as one of the main strategies to prevent and/or decrease childhood obesity in Korea.
Purpose - Over 90% of Domestic logistics industry is small enterprise and they are experiencing growth stagnation due to price-based competition structure rather than constructing logistics service of high added value. In order to get over this situation and pursue the development of logistics industry, strengthening its competitiveness, through inter-enterprise cooperative network build-up, would be a key alternative. Therefore, in this study, an index for measuring inter-enterprise cooperation level of Joint logistics business will be developed as a typical collaborative business model in logistics industry. Moreover, a strengthening competitiveness method suggests a developmental step and a key management index to mature in logistics industry. Research Design, Data, Methodology - This study is an index development research for measuring inter-enterprise cooperation level of logistics industry. Such a level was measured by performing a survey by targeting enterprises that participated in Joint logistics business. The targeting enterprises are typical cooperative models in logistics industry. Measurement items were developed which were based on the presented items in existing research. Question items were composed of selection type questions as answering Yes/No. They measures implementation status of corporate activity and detailed activity items measuring qualitative level. Total samples were based on 116 enterprise samples including 90 logistics enterprises and 26 shippers. In addition, by evaluating the importance for Joint logistics business recognition with personnel working level, the weight of measuring variable was extracted. This study has built an assessment tools (LPCI) on Joint logistics business cooperation level in a situation where there are no previous studies on joint logistics business, this study is meaningful for other studies. Results - As a result of analyzing LPCI presented in this study, the score of logistics enterprise was represented as 59.9 points based on full score of 100 points and that of shippers as 47.2 points and cooperation level among enterprises participated in Joint logistics business was revealed to be very low. In particular, as a result of measuring the importance between logistics enterprise and shippers, the difference by each measurement standard was represented among those enterprises. This difference is considered to be a key factor that cooperative operational conformity between logistics enterprises and shippers is represented to be low. Conclusions - As most joint logistics business, being promoted at present, is sharing facility and information with joint logistics business, it is hard to find such a joint logistics business in reality based on cooperative business model in main cooperation agents. Therefore, competitiveness of logistics industry could be strengthened by promoting joint logistics business based on their mutual cooperation among enterprises. In other words, it is to secure sustainable competitiveness of joint logistics business together with creation of new market by inter-enterprise cooperation based on integration of basic logistics business.
In the ubiquitous computing environments, ICT industries of current society are developed in enormous growth. Medicine or patients with mobile devices can access at any time, any place. The medical procedures at the patient bedside are out of the scope of current systems, which means that patient record and image data access during the medical visit or the execution, recording and confirmation of the medicine prescriptions, still do not enjoy computerized support. Today, the exchange of medical images and clinical information is well defined by DICOM and HL7 standards. The DICOM independent terminal equipment image access system was developed in which a DICOM Engine acts as the gateway between a PACS DB and user's terminal. Implementation system is compatible with most currently available Integration system models. This paper presents a software technology where the medical and nursing staff will be equipped with any device connected by wire and wireless to a central server that provides access to the electronic patient records and that will actively inform about tasks pending distribution. The prototype described in this article implements a medical images and structured reports server that makes the search and recovery of data stored in the DICOM standard possible.
The purpose of this study is to verify the antimicrobial effect of garlic and black garlic against pathogenic bacteria. For the comparative analysis of antibacterial effects of garlic, Ampicillin $10{\mu}g$ (BBL) was used as control antibiotics. Research experiments were conducted on each of November 2013 and January 2014. Susceptibility to the antimicrobial effect was measured through Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method and verified according to the standard proposed by the CLSI. Antimicrobial effect of fresh garlic was higher regardless of the method to extract than Ampicillin $10{\mu}g$. In contrast, the manufacturing methods of the black garlic had no effective differentiations. In antimicrobial susceptibility test, black garlic showed resistance to all of 4 strains. However, in the ethanol-extract of fermented black garlic(natural aging of 15 days.) was found the small changes of the growth-inhibition-zone against S. aureus (8 mm)and E. coli(7 mm). This study proposes a variety attempts about the extraction methods of black garlic for the possibility of food preservation.
