In the almost application parts, GNSS being used the primary navigation system on world-widely. However, some of nations attempt or deliberate to enhance current Loran system, as a backup to satellite navigation system because of the vulnerability to the disturbance signal. Loran interests in supplemental navigation system by the development and enhancement, which is called eLoran, and that consists of advancement of receiver and transmitter and of differential Loran in order to increase the accuracy of current Loran-C. A significant factor limiting the ranging accuracy of the eLoran signal is the ASF in the TOAs observed by the receiver. The ASF is mostly due to the fact that the ground-wave signal is likely to propagate over paths of varying conductivity and topography. This paper presents comparison results between the predicted ASF and the measured ASF in a southern east region of Korea. For predicting ASF, the Monteath model is used. Actual ASF is measured from the legacy Loran signal transmitted Pohang station in the GRI 9930 chain. The test results showed the repeatability of the measured ASF and the consistent characteristics between the predicted and the measured ASF values.
As new and diverse information technologies are being introduced and software complexity is increased, software development cost and efforts are also sharply increased. Component-Based Development (CBD) technology is appealing as a new way to reduce the cost and effort by increasing reusability and maintainability. Component in CBD has variability infernally which enables customization of the component within the specific domain. A component user can easily set up internally variability parts though Required interface which is provided by the component. Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) is utilized as a commercial standard to implement Java-based components. However, EJB constructs are limited in directly implementing Required interfaces of coarse-grained components[8]. In this paper, we define Required interface and propose interface-storage technique, class-storage technique, interface-generation technique, and Plug -in technique for implementing required interface of component. Interface-storage technique stores variable value in Required interface and class-storage technique take the Bean containg variability as Required interface without modification of component model. Interface-generation technique generates new Bean which takes the role of Required interface for component variability and Plug-in technique sets up component variability that component user plugged-in variable part externally The proposed four techniques conform to the semantics of CBD component interface and enable the implementation of high quality components.

The IMO MEPC has been increasingly strengthening the emission standard for marine environment protection. In particular, nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions of all ocean-going ships built from 2016 will be required to comply with the Tier-III regulation. In this study, a vanadia based SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system developed for ship application was installed on a diesel engine for power generation of the training ship T/S SAENURI in Mokpo National Maritime University. For the present study, the exhaust pipeline of the generator diesel engine was modified to fit the urea SCR system. This study investigated the NOx reduction performance according to the two kind of injection method of urea solution (40%): Auto mode through the PLC (Programable Logic Control) and Manual mode. We were able to find the ammonia slip conditions when in manual mode method. So, the optimal urea injection quantity can be controlled at each engine load (25, 35, 50%) condition. It was achieved 80% reduction on nitrogen oxide. Furthermore, we found that the NOx reduction performance was better with the load up-down (while down to 25% from 50%) than the load down-up (while up to 50% from 25%) test.
In order to determine the factors related to site quality, 13 areas of Larch growing in the Kwangung and its vicinity forest as sample plots, were examined. Sample plots included various site classes as well as age classes. Three were divided into two groups (major and minor trees). Average height of dominant trees was determined through messurement of 5 to 6 dominant tree in each sample plots. Average height of dominant 30 year-old trees was the basis for site index. A Standard Yield Table for the larch produced in Kwangnung forest was made by various data, which included age class 5, ranging from 10 to 45 years. The relationship of the height of the trees, the site conditions, and ground vegetation are investigated in this paper. The site indexes of 40 forest class age in 28-B and 28-G forest classes of the larch associations for ground vegetation had comparatively rarge differences due to the sampled areas. The relation of the direction of forest communities to the height and the diameter of the tree shwoed that its communiteis of northest and northwest parts appeared higher valueof the height and the diameter. The diameter and the height of trees were closely realted to each other. The samller the occupied area per tree and the smaller the average distance among trees, the more density was increased. The larger the density was the lower height of the trees. In the ground vegetation of the larch communities, there seems to be a definite correlation between the height of trees and the occupied area per tree or the average distance among the trees. The height of trees and site index of two larch communities were as follow: 28-B forest class site index 20.8, height 24.0m, 28-G forest class site index 18.4, height 20.9m. The ground layer was analyzed by the method of Quadrat(20/20sq. cm) with an interval of 1M. It set up 40 Quadrats of the larch communiteis. The community structure of the ground vegetation of two larch was analyzed, and important value was calculated and then evaluated. The ground vegetation under the larch had developed Burmannii Beauv stratal society below the 28-B and 28-G the forest class. Accordingly, the first important value of Burmannii Beauv was found in two ground vegetation below the larch. Therefore, this species could be quantitatively considered as the forest indicator species. Common species of each community appeared 18 species out of 34 species in the ground vegetation under two larch communities. The ground vegetation of the 28-B forest class showed more than that of the 28-G forest class. the similarity of the ground vegetation was measrued by the Frequency Index Community Coefficient. The differences between the associations were lcearly manifested by the ground vegetation tested by Gleason's Frequency Index of Community Coefficient for the analysis of each stratal society of all associations. According to F.I.C.C. the ground vegetation under two larch(28-B and 28-G) forest classes showed higher value. An investigation into the relationship of physical and chemical properties of soil and site was considered the next step to be taken in the study of the larch site classification.
The Chevron saga including Chevron/TexPet v. Ecuador, PCA Case No. 34877(hereinafter referred to as "Chevron I") and Chevron/TexPet v. Ecuador, PCA Case No. 2009-23(hereinafter referred to as "Chevron II") started out of domestic litigations between TexPet and Ecuador in the early 1990s. In Chevron I, the Tribunal decided that Article 2(7) of the U.S.-Ecuador BIT on effective means of provision was breached because of undue delays in the seven legal proceedings TexPet had brought against Ecuador in respect to contractual obligations. In Chevron II, it was contended that through the actions and inactions of the judiciary and the executive, Ecuador breached her several obligations under the BIT. Ecuador objected to the jurisdiction of the Tribunal because TexPet's investment was terminated in 1992, and because Chevron is not a party to the 1995 Settlement Agreement and 1998 Final Release. In its Interim Award on Jurisdiction and Admissibility, the Tribunal applied a prima facie standard to the facts alleged by the Claimants but denied by the Respondent, and decided that questions in respect of the Respondent's jurisdictional objections should be joined to the merits under Article 21(4) of the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. In the merits phase of Chevron II, the Tribunal divided the merits of the Parties' dispute into two parts, entitled "Track 1" and "Track 2". In its Partial Award on Track 1, the Tribunal decided that Chevron is a "Releasee" under the 1995 Settlement Agreement. In a decision on "Track 1B", the Tribunal decided that the Lago Agrio complaint cannot be read as pleading "exclusively" or "only" diffuse claims, and that, to this extent, the Claimants' reliance on the 1995 Settlement Agreement as a complete bar to the Lago Agrio complaint must fail, as a matter of Ecuadorian law. The Tribunal maintained the position that the Parties' disputes on both merit and jurisdiction should be reserved for Track 2. It remains to be seen how the Tribunal addresses the Claimants' allegations of multiple denials of justice under international law against the judgments of the Respondent's Courts, together with the Respondent's jurisdictional objections in Track 2 of the arbitration.

Safety is built in to the activities of the prudent ship operator. Ant investment made towards this end is likely to have a measurable payback in positive terms. That there must be an investment is inevitable, because the industry at large has let things slip too far too long. Those who have not allowed it to slip too far and who are the first to recognize that safety, far from costing money, in the long term actually preserves it, will be wieners. Too many seem to have lost sight of the fact that every one hundred pennies saved is a full one hundred pennies profit. Every hundred pennies of additional revenue contributes no more then fifteen pence to profit. Environmental protection is not so simple, nor so financially attractive. Man needs the minerals of the Earth as well as the products of the soil and sea survive. We(the human race) are still not in the position, politically or financially to manage the Earth's assets without causing damage. The evidence of our damage is evident in many different parts of the Glove and will in some cases haunt several generations still to come. We have learned a lot, and continue to learn, but despite the best intentions some Government needs for their people will be at the expense of people in another region for the foreseeable future. We sailors ply the seas with the raw materials of commerce as well as the finished and part finished goods. It does not always sit well to consider too deeply what effect the ship and the cargo it carries is having, or may have, on some communities, or on the sea through which sail. None my generation can hold up his head and claim to be without blame in the pollution of the seas. Times are changing though, and Governments are turning their attention more to the protection of our planet and its precious resources. This will not be without cost. The investment will have to be made not for our benefit, but for the benefit of generations yet to come, however the cost will have to be borne by society as a whole, not by the shipping community alone. The debate surrounding the choice between engineering our way to a better tomorrow, or adapting our working practices will continue. Each method has the same goal as its target and as long as we attain the goal does it really matter how we get there?
This research was conducted to identify the following: the home care needs of patients with dementia and the burden on the primary family care giver: to provide basic data required to develop nursing intervention for the care giver: and to suggest recommendations for medical institutions and social services that could reduce the burden on the families of people suffering from dementia. subjects of this research were 53 patients of the two Public Health Centers of Cheju Province who are suffering from dementia and their families. The instrument used in the research was Kuen. Jung Don (1994)' s assessment tool of burden in the primary family care giver who has parents with senile dementia and Yoo. Young Mi(1998)'s assessment tool of home care need. modified by the researcher in the questionnaire by a Likert rating scale. The period of data collection was from February 8. 2000 to March 10. 2000. Collected data was analyzed by SPSS, using mean, standard deviation. ANOVA, t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient. The result of this research was that there was not a significant correlation between the burden on the care giver and the level of dementia, its duration, the patient's ability to perform daily tasks, the period of care giving. and the use of social services, although the lower the patient's ability to perform daily tasks. and the worse the care giver's own health situation, the higher the burden on the primary family care giver. The following suggestions are made based on the results of this research. 1. More than half of the subjects don't use social facilities and services. More publicity and referral efforts are needed about medical institutions. nursing institutions and other facilities that specialize in services for dementia sufferers and their families. 2. Nursing services should include intensive education for the primary care giver in the most important aspects of home care. 3. Further research should be done, and should include data from all parts of Cheju Province.

The energy loss can be divided into the loss caused by heat transfer and the loss caused by air flow. Heat transfer is the loss resulting from the heat transmittance of external wall, roof, and floor, and represents one of the most vulnerable elements of existing buildings. To prevent such loss, it is necessary to increase the mean heat transmittance of entire external wall, including the window, to a level above the standard regional value and ensure the air-tightness of window. The old buildings have the structure which is prone to the loss of greater air flow due to the air infiltration through the exit/entrance door upward along the stairway by the stack effect and simultaneous suction of air from each floor, and becomes even vulnerable to the loss of heat insulation for each floor, although the external wall and windows are the most vulnerable parts. The improvement plans for each floor need to be submitted in tandem with the diagnosis of whole building, regarding the diagnosis plan and energy improvement measures based on the survey of site, rather than adhering to the misconception that the replacement of window alone will result in energy-savings.

In Korea, Eureka-147 DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) temporarily decided as the standard system for digital audio broadcasting was evolved into DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) to complement the technical vulnerability in mobile reception of terrestrial DTV. According to introducing video service in T-DMB (Terrestrial DMB), 'Terrestrial DMB Experimental Broadcasting for Video Service', a national project of the MIC (Ministry of Information and Communication), was done for verifying the possibility of video service via T-DMB. The main objective of the project is computing the effective field strength and coverage for making a plan to build T-DMB broadcasting network and developing transmitting and receiving equipment. In case of digital broadcasting, it is absolutely essential to measure BER (Bit Error Rate) and electric field strength in order to evaluate coverage and quality of received signal. In this paper, we implement an integrated mobile measurement system for T-DMB. For this purpose, we propose efficient data structure and algorithm for BER measurement. By adding GPS (Global Positioning System) and electric field strength measurement parts into BER measurement part, we complete the integrated mobile measurement system, and then verify it by experiments and field tests. The developed system was used in a national project, 'Terrestrial DMB Experimental Broadcasting for Video Service' and measurement results will be used as fundamental data for building T-DMB broadcasting network.

In the present study, we aimed to demonstrate that MV2000-MT(SU:M2)® (MV, MEK-ICS, Paju, Korea), a domestic ventilator, is not inferior in terms of usability, safety, and medical staff satisfaction as compared to Hamilton G5 (G5, Hamilton Medical AG, Rhäzuns, Switzerland). A total of 39 patients who applied MV (group M) or G5 (group H) were included in the study sample. Usability was evaluated by the following factors: the number of alarm errors, replacement requirement of breathing circuit, replacement requirement of a right-angle connector, and ease of ventilator weaning. For safety evaluation, the number of ventilator replacements due to malfunction of the ventilator was evaluated. Items for medical staff satisfaction survey were as follows: the number of MV and G5 uses, hardware, and software assessment. In the usability evaluation, the replacement requirement of the right-angle connector was lower in Group M than in Group H (mean ± standard deviation, Group M: 7.39 ± 6.72, Group H: 14.19 ± 10.24, p = 0.021); however, the evaluations of other parts were not significantly different between the two groups. The number of ventilator replacements due to a malfunction of the ventilator did not differ between two groups. The number of MV and G5 uses was 3.0 [3.0-4.0] and 10.0 [5.0-10.0] (median [interquartile range], p < 0.001). Overall, the mean medical staff satisfaction score of Hamilton G5 was higher than that of MV2000-MT(SU:M2)®. The usability of MV is comparable to that of G5. However, medical staff satisfaction with Hamilton G5 was higher than that with MV2000-MT(SU:M2)®, and this difference could be due to the difference in the number of uses. In order to improve the penetration rate of the domestic mechanical ventilator, it is necessary to find ways to increase familiarity of medical staff with domestic mechanical ventilators.
