  • In the present work, numerical simulations were conducted on the scaled model of the BWB type UCAV in the subsonic region using ANSYS FLUENT V15. The prediction method was validated through comparison with experimental results and the effect of the twisted wing was investigated. To consider the transitional flow phenomenon, ${\gamma}$ transition model based on SST model was adopted. The coefficients of lift, drag and pitching moment were compared with experimental results and the pressure distribution and streamlines were investigated. The twisted wing decreases the lift force but increases lift-to-drag ratio through delay of stall and leading edge vortex's movement to the front, also the non-linearity of the pitching moment is decreased.

  • Quad-Rotor, which consists of four blades, performs a flight task by controling each rotation speed of the four blades. Quad-Rotor blade making no use of cyclic pitch or collective one is a type of fixed-wing as different from helicopter blade. Although, Quad-Rotor is simple and easy to control for those reasons, blade configuration of the fixed wing is one of the critical factors in determining the performance of Quad-Rotor. In the present study, coefficients for thrust and power of Quad-Rotor blade were derived from the data acquired by using 6-component balances. Firstly, Measurements for aerodynamic force were conducted at various pitch angles (i.e., from 0$^{\circ}$ to 90$^{\circ}$ with the interval of 10$^{\circ}$). The blade used in this experiment has aspect ratio of 6 and chord length of 35.5 mm. Secondly, assembled-blade, which was an integral blade but divided into many pieces, was used in order to test aerodynamic forces along twist angles. The curve of thrust coefficient along pitch angle indicates a parabola form. Stall which occurs during wind tunnel test to calculate lift coefficient of airfoil does not generate. When deciding the blade twist angle, structural stability of blade should be considered together with coefficients of thrust and power. Those aerodynamic force data based on experimental study will be provided as a firm basis for the design of brand-new Quad-Rotor blade.

  • 틸트로터 항공기는 기존의 헬리콥터에 비해 두 배 정도 빠르고 비행 가능 영역은 수배에 이른다. 로터시스템을 틸팅(tilting)하여 전진비행하기 때문에 기존 헬기 블레이드에서 발생되는 전진면의 압축성 효과와 후퇴면의 실속을 방지하는 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 틸트로터 항공기에서는 훨플러터(whirl flutter)로 알려진 공탄성 불안정성으로 인해 최대 전진속도에 제한을 가지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 우선 로터시스템 자체의 공탄성 안정성에 대한 파라메트릭 연구를 수행하였고, 피치링크 강성, 짐발 스프링 상수, 원추각이 스마트무인기의 훨플러터 안정성에 미치는 영향을 CAMRAD II를 이용한 해석을 통해 고찰하였다.

유량에 따른 축류홴의 익단누설와류 및 후류 특성 (Flow Characteristics of Wake Flow with Relation to a Tip Leakage Vortex at Different Flow Rates in an Axial Flow Fan)

  • The flow characteristics in the blade passage and in the wake region of a low speed axial flow fan have been investigated by experimental analysis using a rotating hot-wire sensor for design and off-design operating conditions. The results show that the tip leakage vortex is moved upstream when flow rate is decreased, thus disturbing the formation of wake flow near the rotor tip. The tip leakage vortex interfaces with blade pressure surface, and results in high velocity fluctuation near the pressure surface. From axial velocity distributions downstream of the fan rotor, large axial velocity decay near the rotor tip is observed at near stall condition, which results in large blockage compared to that at the design condition. Although the wake flow downstream of the rotor blade is clearly measured at all operating conditions, the trough of the high velocity fluctuation due to Karmann vortex street in the wake flow is mainly observed at a higher flow condition than the design flow rate.

  • 현재 우리나라를 포함한 다수의 국가에서 지상 교통수송 체계가 포화상태에 이르렀다. 이를 해결하기 위해 교통체계의 3차원 화로 교통체증을 완화하고 door-to-door 이동성을 달성하고자 도로주행형 개인용 항공기 (PAV; personal air vehicle)에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로주행형 PAV의 사이징에서 지상 활주거리, 상승률, 최대 순항속도, 최대 상승고도, 실속 속도 등의 구속조건하에서 주요 설계 변수인 추력대중량비, 익면하중, 동력대중량비를 구하기 위한 구속조건 해석을 수행하였다. 또한 사이징 과정에서 국내 환경과 일반항공기급 인증기준인 FAR PART 23을 고려한 임무형상에 대하여 추력대중량비, 익면하중, 동력대중량비, 그리고 제동마력의 그래프를 통해서 설계점을 결정하는 연구도 수행하였다.

Short-term grazing behavior of cattle under indoor housing for a new-bred tetraploid ruzigrass (Brachiaria ruziziensis Germain et Everard)

  • Objective: The preference evaluation of cattle is an important factor for estimation and improvement of the grazing amounts of newly introduced or bred grasses or cultivars in barn. This study was performed to assess the grazing behavior (the amount of grazing and/or the grazing speed) of cattle as indirect method using newly bred Brachiaria ruziziensis tetraploid strain 'OKI-1'(BR) hay as treatment group and Cloris gayana 'Callide' (CG) hay as control group. It also compared the feasibility of using behavioral differences between two groups as one criteria for evaluating preference by Japanese black cattle in barn. Methods: Three experiments were carried out using 12 growing Japanese Black cattle including 6 males and 6 females. In each experiment, the four Japanese Black cattle (2 males and 2 females) were placed in separated stall and allowed to graze BR and CG in manger that was separated into two portions for about 30 min. The position and behavior of the cattle were recorded, and weighed the residual of each gay at 15 and 30 minutes after experiment start. Results: The BR was superior to CG in chemical composition such as protein, fibers and non-fibrous carbohydrate. The cattle, over all, tended to prefer BR over CG in the first half 15 minutes in terms of the time spent and amount of grazing. Additionally, growing cattle exhibited neophilia for BR bred newly. Conclusion: These findings indicated the current approach could be applied for one of criteria to evaluate the preference of hay by Japanese black cattle under indoor housing environment.

헬리콥터용 2단 축류압축기의 재설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Redesign of the Two-Stage Axial Compressor for Helicopter Engines)

  • In developing a multistage compressor, the stage matching is one of the critical design issues. The mismatching can be often observed even if each stage has been proven good and then used as part of a compression system. A good matching among the stages can be achieved by changing various design parameters (i.e., passage cross sectional areas, blades angles, stagger angles, curvature, solidity, etc.). Therefore, designers need to find out what parameters must be changed and how much. In this study, a method to search the design parameters for optimum stage matching has been used based on an 1-D mathematical model of a compressor, which uses the data obtained from the preliminary test to identify the design parameters. This methodology is applied with a two-stage axial compressor, which was originally designed for a helicopter gas turbine engine. After identifying design parameters using preliminary test data, an optimization process has been employed to achieve the best matching between the stages (i.e., maximum efficiency of the compressor at its operation modes within a given range of the rotor speed under given restrictions for required stall margins and mass flow). 3-D flow calculations have been performed to confirm the usefulness of the corrections based on the 1-D mathematical model. Calculational results agree well with the experimental data in view of the performance characteristics. Some promising results were produced through the methodology proposed in this paper in conjunction with flow calculations.

계통연계 풍력발전시스템의 최대출력제어를 위한 신경회로망 제어기에 관한 연구 (Neural Network Controller of A Grid-Connected Wind Energy Conversion System for Maximum Power Extraction)

  • 본 논문은 바람으로부터 최대출력을 추출하기 위해 계통연계 풍력발전시스템의 신경회로망 제어기와 추출된 최대출력을 계통에 전달하기 위한 전력제어기를 제안한다. 유도발전기, 변압기, 정류기 및 인버터 등으로 구성된 제어기를 갖춘 풍력발전시스템의 모델링과 시뮬레이션에 대해 검토하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 동특성해석을 위해 드라이브 트레인 모델, 유도발전기 모델과 계통접속 모델을 제시한다. 신경회로망 제어기는 풍차날개의 피치각을 제어하여 바람으로부터 최대출력을 추출한다. 피치제어방법은 기계적으로 복잡하지만 제어성능은 스톨제어보다 우수하게 된다. MATLAB으로 수행한 시뮬레이션 결과는 발전기 토오크, 발전기 회전속도, 피치각, 계통으로 주입되는 유효/무효전력 등을 예시하고 있으며 그 결과를 보면 제안된 제어기의 효용성을 입증할 수 있다.

라틴 하이퍼큐브 기반 신경망모델을 적용한 풍력발전기 피치제어기 최적화 (Optimization of Wind Turbine Pitch Controller by Neural Network Model Based on Latin Hypercube)

  • 풍력발전기의 안정적인 전력생산은 정격풍속 이상에서 피치제어와 스톨제어와 같은 일정속도제어로 이루어지고 있다. 최근, 효율적인 전력생산을 위하여 정격풍속 이하의 변동풍속 조건에서 최대 출력을 얻기 위한 가변 속도제어가 적용되고 있는 추세이다. 기존의 피치제어기에서는 지글러-니콜스 계단응답법에 의한 제어기 최적화가 이루어지고 있으나, 가변 속도제어의 요구로 보다 정확한 최적화가 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 지글러-니콜스 계단응답법을 개선하기 위하여 라틴 하이퍼큐브 샘플링을 통한 신경망모델을 구축하고, 구축된 PID 제어 계수 신경망모델에 유전자 알고리즘을 적용하여 피치제어기를 최적화하였다. 유전자 알고리즘으로 구한 최적해가 지글러-니콜스 계단응답법의 초기해 보다 평균제곱근 오차가 13.4% 향상되었고, 응답특성을 나타내는 상승속도와 정착시간은 각각 15.8% 및 15.3%으로 개선되었다.
