Ti-30Ta-(3~15)Nb 합금에 HA/Ti 복합 코팅한 표면의 교류임피던스 특성 (A.C. Impedance Properties of HA/Ti Compound Layer coated Ti-30Ta-(3~15)Nb Alloys)

  • A.C. impedance properties of HA/Ti compound layer coated Ti-30Ta-($3{\sim}15$)Nb alloys have been studied by electrochemical method. Ti-30Ta binary alloys contained 3, 7, 10 and 15 wt% Nb were manufactured by the vacuum furnace system. And then specimen was homogenized at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 24 hrs. The sample was cut and polished for corrosion test and coating. It was coated with HA/Ti compound layer by magnetron sputter. The non-coated and coated morphology of Ti alloy were analyzed by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), energy X-ray dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) and filed emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The corrosion behaviors were investigated using A.C. impedance test (PARSTAT 2273, USA) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. Ti-30Ta-($3{\sim}15\;wt%$)Nb alloys showed the ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ phase, and $\beta$ phase peak was predominantly appeared in the case of increasingly Nb contents. The microstructures of Ti alloy were transformed from needle-like structure to equiaxed structure as Nb content increased. From the analysis of coating surface, HA/Ti composite surface uniformed coating layer with 750 nm thickness. The growth directions of film were (211), (112), (300) and (202) for HA/Ti composite coating on the surface after heat treatment at $550^{\circ}C$, whereas, the growth direction of film was (110) for Ti coating. The polarization resistance ($R_p$) of HA/Ti composite coated Ti-alloys were higher than those of the Ti and HA coated samples in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. Especially, corrosion resistance of Ti-Ta-Nb system increased as Nb content increased.

  • We are developing computer integrated polysomnography system. This system integrates conventional polysomnography with computer for data management, automatic analysis, scoring, and data transmission. In the first stage, we have developed the signal interface and user interface for the manual scoring and data management. For the automatic scoring of sleep stage, we have developed the protocol and have applied the analytic method in its primitive form. In the second stage we will develope a partially automatic scoring system, and finalize the fully automatic system in the final third stage.

Ti-6Al-4V합금의 고상 확산접합에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Solid State Diffusion Bonding of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy)

  • Solid state diffusion bonding is the joining process performed by creep and diffusion, which is accelerated by heating below melting temperature and proper pressing, in vacuum or shielding gas atmosphere. By this process we can obtain sufficient joint which can't be expected from the fusion welding. For Ti-6Al-4V alloy, the optimum solid state diffusion bonding condition and mechanical properties of the joint were found, and micro void morphology at bond interface was observed by SEM. The results of tensile test showed sufficient joint, whose mechanical properties are similar to that of base metal. 850$^{\circ}$C, 3MPa is considered as the optimum bonding condition. Void morphology at interface is long and flat at the initial stage. As the percentage of bonded area increases, however, small and round voids are found. Variation of void shape can be explained as follows. As for the void shrinkage mechanism, at the initial stage, power law creep is the dominant, but diffusion mechanism is dominant when the percentage of bonded area is increased.

TiN 및 ZrN 코팅된 교정용 브라켓의 부식특성 (Corrosion Characteristics of TiN and ZrN Coated Orthodontic Brackets)

  • The dental orthodontic bracket requires good mechanical properties, such as elastic strength and frictional resistance, combined with a high resistance to corrosion. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of TiN and ZrN coating on corrosion resistance of orthodontic brackets using various electrochemical methods. Brackets manufactured by Ormco Co. were used, respectively, for experiment. Ion plating was carried out for coatings of bracket using Ti and Zr coating materials with nitrogen gas. Ion plated surface of each specimen was observed with field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), energy dispersive Xray spectroscopy(EDS) and electrochemical tester. The corrosion potential of the TiN and ZrN coated bracket was comparatively high. The current density of TiN and ZrN coated bracket was smaller than that of non-coated bracket in 0.9% NaCl solution. Pit nucleated at angle of bracket slot.

Development of Tele-operation system Based on the Haptic Interface

  • In this paper, we investigate the issues for the design and implementation of tele-operation system based on the haptic interface. Here, the 3-DOF haptic device and the x-y-z stage are employed as master controller and slave system respectively. In this master-slave system, the force feedback algorithm, the modeling of virtual environments and the control method of x-y-z stage are proposed. In this paper, inernet network is used for data communication between master and slave. We construct virtual environment of the real convex surface from the force-feedback in controlling the X-Y-Z stage and getting the force applied by the 3-DOF haptic device.

  • The spheroidization of cold rolled lamellar pearlite in annealing at the temperatures between 600 and $700^{\circ}C$ has been studied by quantitative micrography. It was foud that the spheroidization proceeded as two stageh. The first stage was the stage of relieving the stored energy by cold work, the second was the stage of reducing the interface energy between ferrite and cementite. The spheroidization rate combining the spheroidization rate of each stages is described by the following equation : $$d(1/S)/dt=k_3{\cdot}D/_{(1/s)}\{{\sigma}V/_{(1/s)}+k_4{\cdot}{\exp}(-bt)\}$$ Where, S is the total area of the interface between ferrite and cementite per unit volume, D is the diffusion coefficient, ${\sigma}$ is the boundary energy, V is the volume fraction of the cementite, and $k_3$, $k_4$, b are constants.

An Input-Powered High-Efficiency Interface Circuit with Zero Standby Power in Energy Harvesting Systems

  • This study presents an input-powered high-efficiency interface circuit for energy harvesting systems, and introduces a zero standby power design to reduce power consumption significantly while removing the external power supply. This interface circuit is composed of two stages. The first stage voltage doubler uses a positive feedback control loop to improve considerably the conversion speed and efficiency, and boost the output voltage. The second stage active diode adopts a common-grid operational amplifier (op-amp) to remove the influence of offset voltage in the traditional comparator, which eliminates leakage current and broadens bandwidth with low power consumption. The system supplies itself with the harvested energy, which enables it to enter the zero standby mode near the zero crossing points of the input current. Thereafter, high system efficiency and stability are achieved, which saves power consumption. The validity and feasibility of this design is verified by the simulation results based on the 65 nm CMOS process. The minimum input voltage is down to 0.3 V, the maximum voltage efficiency is 99.6% with a DC output current of 75.6 μA, the maximum power efficiency is 98.2% with a DC output current of 40.4 μA, and the maximum output power is 60.48 μW. The power loss of the entire interface circuit is only 18.65 μW, among which, the op-amp consumes only 2.65 μW.

  • Numerical and experimental investigations were conducted to assess the aerodynamic performance of several centrifugal compressors. In order to impose an appropriate physics at the interface between impeller and vaned diffuser numerically, two different techniques, frozen rotor and stage models, were applied and the simulation results were compared with the corresponding prototype test data. An equivalent sand-grain roughness height was utilized in the present computational study to consider a relative surface roughness effect on the stage performance simulated. From a series of investigations, it was found that the stage model is more suitable than the frozen rotor scheme for the steady interactions between impeller and diffuser in turbocompressor applications. It is supposed that the solution by frozen rotor scheme is inclined to overrate the non-uniformity of the flow fields. The predicted aerodynamic performance accounting for surface roughness effect shows favorable agreement with experimental data. Simulations based on the aerodynamically smooth surface assumption tend to overestimate the stage performance.

햅틱 인지 요인 분석을 적용한 진동 촉감 인터페이스 설계 프로세스 제안 (Design Process Suggestion of Vibrotactile Interface applying Haptic Perception Factor Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 인간의 촉감 메커니즘을 반영하여 햅틱 인지 요인을 적용할 수 있는 진동 촉감 인터페이스 설계 프로세스를 제안하였다. 본 프로세스는 총 4단계로 햅틱 감각의 요구사항 분석 단계, 햅틱 요소 분석 단계, 햅틱 인지 요인분석 단계, 햅틱 요구사항 상세 설계 및 시제품 구현 단계로 구성된다. 본 설계 프로세스의 장점은 햅틱 인지 요인 분석을 적용함으로써 사용자 요구사항 도출 및 구현 시 불필요한 작업들을 배제할 수 있으며, 가장 큰 특징은 인체공학적 특징을 설계에 반영할 수 있고, 사용자 평가와 사용성 테스트, 햅틱 기능 최적화 작업을 동시에 수행함으로써 시제품 개발이 완료됨과 동시에 햅틱 요구사항 명세서가 완료된다는 것이다. 본 설계 프로세스는 사용자의 요구사항에서부터 햅틱 기능 상세설계 및 시제품 구현에 대한 전체 단계를 포함하고 있어 햅틱에 대한 전문 지식이 부족한 일반 개발자들도 사용자 중심의 설계가 가능하여 일정 수준 이상의 햅틱 기능 설계 및 구현을 가능케 할 것으로 기대된다.
